[Q] Why always transformer transformer? - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Wherever i find a discussion in net or top ten tablet like listing they yell transformer transformer. I dont know what the special transformer has to be top number 1 tablet of 2011. What about our xoom?

If you're referring to the new (soon to be released) Transformer Prime, the specs kill the Xoom across the board, screen, processor, gpu...
And if not, well...sorry I'm mistaken.

I think that ASUS EEE Pad Transformer is good and if I want to buy tablet with Android OS, so I buy ASUS. But for now is iPad2 the best, I think.
Well, I don't know your budget and what you intend to use it for,
but I would certainly recommend a tablet with at least Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) and a Nvidia Tegra 2 processor.
The ASUS EEE Pad Transformer is one possible choice ... (as for the iPad2, it is a quality product but no thx).
So are u saying that the ASUS is the best android tablet out there ?

Rooted Nook Color is a good inexpensive tablet though lacks the specs of the higher end choices.
I want a tablet that has a very fast processor. Money is no object.i would mostly use it for video and games

Archos G9 looks good and cheaper, but it will come to the market somewhere in September...means not yet available today

I'd reccomend you get the Asus EEE Transformer. It's running the same Tegra 2 chip that powers quite a few other android tablets and with the keyboard dock will give you 16 hours of battery life.
It's priced well too

Andypad Pro? Cheap with resonable specs. Don't know whether it will be supported on XDA but I hope it will be so Honeycomb gets ported to it.

i am also looks a good tablet , SAMSUNG OR SONY
SG10.1 or AT
The best android tablet out right now, is the ASUS EEE Pad Transformer or Samsung Galaxy 10.1. I'm also in the market for a tablet and from everyone I talk to, it come down between these two. From what I was told, if you want something similar to the Ipad, then go with the Galaxy Tab 10.1... but if you are going to be doing a lot of typing and want a hybrid tablet/laptop, go with the Transformer. I'm torn between the two.
At first I though the Transformer was the best tablet out there, 10hrs battery life and then a dock with another 6 hrs, but then you need to always carry the dock if you want to have the extra battery life but now I think the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the best one because the battery life is about 10hrs like the Transformer, yet it's lighter and if you dislike the Touchwiz ui then go with Transformer, but if you don't mind it at all, get the GT 10.1
...
just to have 10 post lool
sorry the spam
I would recomend that you get the motorola xoom. It has a fast tegra 2 dual core processor that can be overclocked to a blazing 1.7 ghz. It also has a good gpu that has been overclocked 33%. It has the new android 3.2 honeycomb os. It has 32 gb of internal storage at the price o of$500. With the new android 3.2 it also has a fully functioning sd card. The metal frame while heavier than others, gives it a good quality feel. The easily unlockable bootloader also makes modding easier. Do not go with the samsung galaxy tab as the 32 gig model costs $600, and it has no sdcard slot for external storage . The battery life on the xoom is good and i can usualy get about 11 - 12 hous out of it.The Eee pad transformer is good, but if you want a keyboard you can always use a blue tooth one or get the usb connection kit for a usb keyboard.
I hope this helps and if it does please hit the thanks button

Your guess is as good as mine. And that's just a wild guess.
yes we know...
the win8 devellopper edition can work on tegra 2 system.. but the final version will only work on tegra3+ or same power chip... no hope for tf101
if you read french see here :
http://www.presence-pc.com/actualite/windows-8-arm-44998/
for resuming, the final version will need a compatible Direct3D 9.3 processor..
5XT PowerVR processor or Adreno 22x Qualcomm for gpu (or something of the same power) and cortex A9 or better cpu...
the tegra 2 is not compatible...

Best Android 4.0 tablet out there?

Hi Everyone,
I am looking for a really good Android tablet (version 4.0 - ICS). Great display, 1GB RAM, and Dual Core or Quad Core CPU.
I am checking the web and there are tons of tablets. Samsung is NOT the only option. The Chinese versions seem very conveniently priced.
So, what is really the best and fastest tablet out there today?
Thanks
Toshiba Thrive is AWESOME! But little development and no ICS YET, but is scheduled to get it

I've heard really good things about the Asus Transformer Prime and so far they've been really good at keeping their products up to date and supporting them. I've tinkered around with one in Best Buy and was impressed. Sleek and fast. And it's quad core
I can't say enough about the Asus Transformer Prime w/ dock. Very high quality device.
Also think the Asus Transformer Prime is awesome!
Don't buy the Prime just yet! Wait for the Asus Transformer Infinity or the Padfone!
Best and fastest tablet out right now? Nothing other than the awesome ASUS Transformer Prime.
I still prefer iPad due to the selection of Apps (Android is severely lacking here), but Android is awesome for its customization and openness,
I currently own a Transformer (original) and I would highly recommend the prime, if it lives up to half of what my transformer does it is an incredible tablet. Also has a good amount of development and is a powerhouse

Try Iberry Auxus It Is Cheap ANd Very Good
Here http://iberry.asia/
has to be asus TF !
I have an Asus Transformer Prime. It is really great. Not only the prestations but also the design of the TFP. I recommend you to consider the Asus Transformer Prime!
Motorola Xoom is the best one I tried so far, with ICS of course.
TF Prime. I have had it for 3 months now. Monster.

One of my friends has the Asus Transformer Prime and it's great.
Motorola Xoom:
Make it a GED and you can't go wrong, just got the 4.0.4 OTA update, it runs so smooth
Transformer Prime is on top right now. and the dock is a MUST have for this tablet.
tablet
if u want for development then try auraslate lifepad
Yeah, the Asus Transformers Prime. Its Awesome.
Only downside of the TFP is there aren't really good ROMs jet.

Which Android tablet - 2012?

Guy's, need advice on which Android tablet to go for. My sister will be picking this up in USA before she comes for a visit around second week of July.
Requirements
10" display
Running ICS or upgradable to ICS.
Stable operation with official ROM/updates.
Easily rootable (Installing custom ROMs is not a necessity)
Memory card slot absolute must.
USB OTG.
Able to play most of the common video formats
HDMI out either out of the box or through an inexpensive adapter
Good WiFi performance. 3G is not a requirement.
Budget is not a constraint (can go up to $800) as long as its worth it.
Was originally considering the Transformer Prime 64GB + Dock, but not too sure about it after all the GPS/WiFi problems I keep hearing about.
Other options that I am considering.
Asus Transformer TF300 32GB + Dock
Acer Iconia A510
Toshiba Excite 32GB
I am also interested in the Infinity Pad 700, but I don't think it will be available by the time sis comes home and it won't be available in my country anytime soon.
Guy's waiting for inputs on these tablets... Which one would be the best to go for?
Honestly I think the Galaxy tabs are the best, but from those choices, I would go with the Toshiba, it has minor problems from what I heard, not too bad.

I think the Galaxy Gab will do fine, just because it's Samsung, so it should be good.
The Toshiba should meet all requirements.
Sent from my U8150 using XDA
The main reason I am not going with the Galaxy Tabs is because they don't have storage expandability and secondly that none of them are upto date on hardware front.
If it can at least play videos from a high capacity USB stick without draining too much battery life, I would go with it.
The Toshiba is the all rounder for a power user. Samsungs are pretty not super functional, Acer are confused (tried something different and failed) and transformer is an expensive luxury (everything sold seperately)

I would avoid Toshiba at all costs. Poor support. Small dev community.
Desire S • Fallout 1.4.0 • xda premium

From a purely Brand perspective, my preference order would be Asus, Samsung, Acer and last of all Toshiba. I wouldn't mind spending a premium if the product is worth it. As I mentioned my Original plan was to get Transformer Prime + Dock, but dropped that idea because of current issues with that tablet. been doing some research on the other tablets as well these are the issues I have been hearing
Transformer Prime - WiFi/GPS/Bluetooth reception issues. Stability issues with ICS.
Transformer Pad TF300 - ICS Stability/performance issues
Acer Iconia A510 - Overheats during gaming, Screen responsiveness issues.
Toshiba Excite 32GB - Poor battery life (< 8hrs), way costly compared to other 32GB Tegra 3 tablets.
I'd rank them as
Toshiba
Transformer Pad (either)
Galaxy Tab
Iconia
I stopped worrying about battery life,it's all in how you use your tablet. If you must game for long periods then the transformer makes sense. The prime has the best life.

New ASUS Trasformer Infinity forum?

Hello, just hoping we can get a forum up and running for the new Transformer Infinity announced 6/3/13?
2560 x 1600 IPS display,
Tegra 4 processor,
docking keyboard, etc, yada yada yada...
Last tablet I bought was the OG Transformer and anyone who bought that should remember the nightmare that was finding an available pre-order to purchase. The forum was a huge help in keeping up on the supply.

The tegra 4? Has Asus gone mad? That thing is having MAJOR power issues!
Also, only 32GB and no MicroSD? Meh, I'll keep mine.
