Does this forum cover tablets and readers running android os?
I am seeking information on hacking a Cruz reader but only see sections in the form for specific brands/models of phones.
this forum supports android and even windows
It covers all of those devices.
Thanks
Good to know...Thanks much

I know this question should be obvious but I am not a developer so I don't know for sure. I am wanting to get a lg 800g for my dad and put android on it. The os it has on it looks like android but it isn't. I was wondering if it would be possible to put android on it so the phone could be more compatible possibly.
The most likely answer is 'no'. The device doesn't appear to be nearly powerful enough to support Android. Even if it were, you'd need massive community support to port Android over, and it doesn't appear that that exists for this device.
To answer your subject-line question more generally, in the vast majority of cases, this is not possible. The rare exceptions usually involve devices that use derivatives of Android, like the Nook Color.
We have great android ports on our hp touchpad including cm7 and miui . I'd say this device definitely would not be easy, but hey, its android so you never know what magic will happen. I hope you are able to find a community of people willing to help you with that phone. Not sure what kind of experience you have, but why not see where you can get on a port for yourself and then ask some recognized developers what direction you need to head. If you paid, im sure a few devs would do it for you
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

I own a nexus 7 and I think of XDA as a major component of my android device. I also own an mk808 and I would love to see a section dedicated to android mini PC's and development for mini PC's here at XDA. The handful of smaller forums that do develop for my mk808 basically suck. No offense to anyone. But every download has to be routed through an ad site which half the time doesn't work. I understand people need to get paid but it would be nice if things were functional. Any thoughts on development here at XDA? I would be willing to donate a device if need be. They only cost $60 or so and it would be well worth it for me....Thanks
This forum is for generic "plug into your TV" like devices, such as some of the recent non-branded TV sticks you can buy, running Android. Since many of these devices share a lot in common, we have created this forum for anyone working on them.
When posting, it helps to name your device, as well as listing some of the specs of it, as there are so many clones of each device. Most important is the CPU in use on it.
Enjoy.

Hello.
I reently bought a Onyx Boox M96Plus (inductive, big pen), but I see there's no scene to this hardware. I see there's interesting stuff for Nook and other devices, but not so much for Onyx Boox.
There's KOreader, a very interesting project that is ported to non-android and Android eink devices. It started as a reader for Kindle devices, now evolved into A LOT MORE than that (Calibre sync, lots of formats, support for immediate syncing over wireless with other devices using KOreader, etc).
Any possibility to have e eink section and put different Android ereaders there?
Kind regards.

Hello,
I am looking for an Android-based "TV Box" that has good (any?) community support. I've found some devices with great hardware specs, however none appear to have good manufacturer support (updates). I've only owned Nexus phones and tablets since the Galaxy Nexus days so I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to updates and I prefer the ASOP experience. If someone could help me find a device or point me to the correct forum to ask, I'd much appreciate it. What I'm looking for is:
HDMI Output (Prefer 4K)
8 Core CPU
2+ GB RAM
32GB+ Storage (or expandable)
Wifi (Prefer 802.11AC)
Ethernet
Bluetooth
Thanks,
Thomas
