Returning a B70 to stock - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, so i tried razorclaw and installed the Revolver custom rom on my tablet. Only to realize the difference was not worth it. I kind of want to return to stock right now, but i am unsure how to do it?
I've seen several "return to stock" threads, but most of them warn about doing it on a B70 device.
So, now what?
Is it possible to just download the latest FW from the asus site, put it on the tablet and start into the recovery?
I have Clockwork recovery and latest revolver on the tablet at the moment.

Try this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1341533 may have clues to other threads.
Also...next time remember to Backup your current ROM before flashing a new one...just in case you don't like the changes...you can easily restore your previous.

First thing you should do is run SBK detect to see if you have SBK v1 or SBK v2.
If you have SBK v1 you can use NVFlash to go back to stock.
SBK v2 you can NOT use NVFlash.
Reasoning behind the warning is if you get soft brick you can not use NVFLash if you have SBK v2.
Take a look here,

*Update*
Managed to do it by following this guide here:

Just downloaded the modified WW image and voilah

So, catolh, this returned your b70 to stock then? Could you descibe exactly what you did. I have looked at the site and done a lot of research on it, but still seem to read mixed results.

Basically i used a repacked fw, so i could flash it through cwm, boot up to welcome screen, reboot to cwm again, and flash the repacked asus recovery. From there it was like a stock transformer

[Q] - Cannot go into recovery

Just got back my tf101 from the new service center. The info from the about tablet ..
Model : Transformer TF101
Version : 3.2
GPS : 1.5.0
Wi-Fi : 5.2.53
BTooth : 6.19
Kernel : 2.6.36.3-00001-g717a0f0
[email protected] #1
Build : HTJ85B.TW_epad-8.6.5.7-20110730
MDock : EP-101-0213
Is this the latest firmware? From some sites, the firmware is 8.6.5.9 OTA update shows no new version.
Is this version bootlock? I tried but cannot. Stuck at the green android screen.
Any comments?
To know if you're tab is bootlock, you have to check your S/N near the connector on your tab.
If it start by B70K, you may have the SBK V1 but you can have the V2 aswell(bootlocked) But if it start by B80K, you have the V2 and your bootloader is locked.

My serial serial starts with a B40K... Initially, I can root the device. After returning back from service center as I've some booting problem, I just cannot go into recovery mode.
If they overwrote the os, cwm would have been taken out.
you probably need to reroot, and install cwm again.

Just like when you rooted originally, you'll have to root first than install cwm.
Just use NVFlsh

Need help installing clockworkmod recovery and what is a good kernel for ICS

I had put my transformer back to stock for the ICS update. I have now installed that and rooted but I do not have recovery. Powering up while hold down vol does nothing. What is the correct way to flash that?
After I get that I want to flash a kernel to OC again.
Any help would be great. Thanks.

You can find Roach2010's CWM Recovery installer APK floating around the forum, or there is also Rogue XM Recovery that works. I have not experience with that one. Roach's you can just install the APK from the tablet and you are good to go.
Also, some searching around the forum you would note that ASUS has not released the kernel source. This means that dev's cannot compile a custom kernel, and no OCing for ICS yet.
Thank you.
I did search and just thought I was wrong about the kernel.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda premium
Rogue XM Recovery is the preferred recovery. Much better than Roaches.
ICS Kernels... don't exist until ASUS releases source for ICS kernel.
RecoveryInstaller (both version)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22359727&postcount=218
I tried both and the apps just freeze...
Any other ideas? I need my cwm back!!!
Whatever you do, DONT use the one that comes with ROM Manager off the market.
It caused mine and a couple of others to bootloop recovery.
If you have B60 and below series, you could NVflash Rogue recovery. This is what I did to install CWM after updating to ICS.

[Q] Revolver 4 Beta to Stock Rom 9.2.1.11

Apologies for being noob in TF (my first Android thing).
I've been playing with my TF101 B80 with updated ICS 4, successfully rooted with ViperMod, installed Revolver 4 beta (9.2.1.11)by gnufabio..
My question:
How can I safely revert back to Stock Rom with root?
Bit afraid to try any Stock Rom posted everywhere without advise from pros.
Thanks.
nvflash it, its the safest way i know of, but you have to have sbk1 but if you dont want to loose data flash it in CWM, wipe dalvik, and then flash it, unless your transformer implodes, but go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1334673here if you flash via cwm, its alot easier

I have seen this posted here, and elsewhere.
Simple - Go to the ASUS Support site and download the latest ICS firmware for your version (WW, US, JP, TW, CN, etc).
Unzip the file 1 time (it will still be a zip file) and place it on a microSD card.
Boot into CWM recovery.
Choose zip from SD
Select the zip from the microSD
Once it finishes installing you will be back to 100% stock unrooted ROM and it will also flash back to stock recovery.
Thanks.

Possible to return completely to stock?

I just picked up a tf300t and I wanted to make sure of something before I dive into rooting, roms, etc. Is it possible to return it completely to a stock, non rooted, no custom recovery? Depending when the asus infinity comes out, I may want to return the tf300t for it. Please answer asap, so I can get started on everything
You can root and un root so thats not a problem, But if you unlock the boot loader your out of luck. There is no way to relock it. So even if you flashed a stock recovery and rom the warranty is void.
ok well at least i can root it. Then when my 30 days are up, ill start tossing roms on there

Well actually you have 1 year warranty with the manufacturer (ASUS).

i'm pretty sure you can still return the tablet with a unlocked bootloader to the store. what you can't do while unlocked is use asus warranty.

If your flashing the firmware from asus's website, it will overwrite your recovery.
you could try using blobtools to repack the asus firmware file without the recovery and bootloader partitions, then flash it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068548
(I've compiled blob tools using mingw and attached it for your convienience)
I don't know if it will work because I haven't unlocked my tf300t yet (I have to RMA it because of a screen defect), but worth a shot.

Can't Flash CROM 4.1 please help!

I am having problems flashing Clean Inheritance Rom 4.1 and I believe my TWRP 2.4.4.0 may be the problem because it seems corrupted.
I followed the instructions on this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187982
So far I have been able to flash the patched twrp 2.4.4.0 and install the Asus stock 4.2.1 but every time I try to flash CROM 4.1 twrp will initiate updating partition and then it will just restart w/o warning to its home screen. I think that my twrp may be corrupted but i have used fastboot to repush the twrp multiple times and the asus stock 4.2.1 multiple times but this is not solving my issue. I see that fastboot has a erase command and wanted to know if i would use that to erase the recovery img completely and then try flashing twrp again to see if this resolves the issue or will the erase command brick my device? Also do I need to have my stock kernel for the CROM 4.1 to work? I am attaching screenshot of my tablet info, please let me know if more info is needed or if i need to upload a video of what is going on thanks.
have you redownloaded twrp mate it might have been a dodgy download or maybe a bad download of cromi, or you could try installing cromi 4.0 first

Thanks robgee for the response, I have tried downloading the twrp patch and crom 4.0 and 4.1 but I am still having the same issue. Is there a way to flash CROM 4.1 without using twrp?
Hi Williams,
I'm also facing the same as you, and still searching for an answer. Tried flashing the SuperSU patch and my tablet is still not rooted.
Running the WW version. Wonder if anyone can help us....

Update! bump please help someone
I am still having issues installing clean rom 4.1 but I noticed that if I keep selecting to flash the CROM 4.1 or 4.0 rom it will eventually initiate and let me choose the options and actually start flashing but once it says it is complete and i reboot it does not boot CROM just gets stuck at the asus boot screen. Then i must use fastboot to flash the stock android 4.2.1 to get the thing up and running and then twrp pretty much breaks after i use fastboot to flash teh android 4.2.1 blob file so I have to reflash the patched 2.4.4.0 again. I really do think the problem is with twrp because ever since this new 2.4.4.0 update i have been having issues i remember before twrp was a great utility but now it seems like it is a nightmare is there a way from me to try flashing crom 4.1 with clockwork mod yet?

I was able to flash SuperSU as well
I was able to flash SuperSU and it was confirmed rooted with root checker. I still don't know why CleanROM will not work I have downloaded the ROM multiple times but it just refuses to flash is there something else I need to check in order to flash the rom or is TWRP partially broken where it can only flash very small simple files but not a complete custom rom?
I just downloaded the energy rom and tried to flash it do my device and ended up having the same issue. It says the rom has been flashed and completes but after reboot it is just stuck on Asus bootscreen and never boots into the OS. What the hell is going on
I think my bootloader is somehow screwed up because it can't boot any custom roms it can only boot the asus stock 4.2.1 when i flash the blob file using fastboot. Did i miss a step or something to allow the bootloader to boot custom roms
