AOSP keyboard apk - Verizon Droid Charge

Does anyone know where to find or have the apk for the AOSP keyboard? I'm currently unrooted and can't stand the GB keyboard.

I think this is what I used.

Thanks for the link. After attempting to get fileshare to cooperate it dawned on me that it was a zip file. I am unrooted, therefore no CWM. can i still install a zip file without CWM on the phone or just unzip on a pc and copy the apk over?

Flash CWM and boot into it. When you are done flashing reboot and the stock software well automatically delete CWM.

[Q] Can't Flash Krylon's deodex ROM with beta 3

I was wondering if anyone else was having issues flashing krylon's deodexed version of SW.
- I checked and have root and when I run CWM it says v3.0.2.8.
- It says Installation aborted.
I did chang out my FOTA files to free up space.
I'm having the same issue, I've installed everything correctly: beta 3, copied over recovery. Get into cwm fine with no issues. But everytime I flash this rom it says installation aborted.

Pixelbrain provided the answer in the development forums:
You have to unzip the file, open the folder, select all files, and zip everything in that folder.
The problem is that everything is inside that folder, which is then zipped.
The files need to be zipped directly, not inside a folder.
Thanks man times like these are when I wish my windows machine still works. Not trying to be a noob or anything. How can you zip a file on osx, unrarx doesn't provide that ability. At least not that I know of.

Are you doing this on Froyo or GB? This only works on Froyo. Maybe try re-downloading the recovery & zip file to insure you didn't get bad downloads.
I'm on froyo and I downloaded from my phones browser if that makes a difference, and thanks for the help boss

It shouldn't make a difference how you downloaded the zip as long as you followed the instructions on the thread. Make sure you don't try to extract the zip file. try re-downloading them & try again.
are you changing the permissions of the directory from read only (R/O) to read/write (R/W) in root explorer before you try pasting the files?
Yup I used root explorer to push the files and it prompted me to switch to r/w when I tried to push the recovery. I'll try the process from the beginning and report back

Stock AT&T Infuse systems app

Can someone please upload their Infuse stock system app folder (/system/app). I am in need of those apps and can't seem to find a zip of the stock rom. I have the 2.2.1 i997UCKD5. Or if anyone knows a link for that.
Thanks in advance.

I think what you're looking for is in the stock rom packages
download gtg's unbrick.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116251
use winRar (or similar) and right click to open the package.
everything should be in the package.
i hope this helps

You're right. I didn't realize the factory.rfs did not unpack further.
You might have to see if anyone who had odin theirs back to stock, extract it and upload it.
Can I ask why you need it?
Can you not just root your phone, use titanium back up for everything, odin back to stock and re-install your back up?
The factory.rfs can be mounted as a loop device in linux. Then you can copy any files you need.

Or just extract the factoryfs.rfs with magik iso ....20 seconds and done...all apps will be in there..easier than a loop in linux

Depends on which OS you are using at the moment and how fast you type the mount command, really. Takes me longer to boot Windows and install Magic Iso than it does to type mount -o loop, but okay.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using Tapatalk
One click....no typing...one click extract....I do it bout 30 times a week...in windows...open majik ISO...new...select factoryfs.rfs ...right click..extract..done...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
If magik ISO is already installed then you don't have to install it.......set it as default...evenness u double click on the file it automatically launches magik iso ...extract..done

Totally understand how it works, and if you're on Windows, it's great to have that option. It's no better an option than I offered. It is just as easy for me to type, especially when I'm already looking at a Slackware bash shell.

Thank you, guys.
Learn something new everyday.
I don't have the programming background for linux but I can do windows.
And D, I was just giving you a hard time. I'm more of a linux guy, and am surprised at how much Android hacking has me on Windows. I hadn't tried MagicIso, so thanks for the tip. I know that most on here are using Windows or Mac.

I use Linux to build and compile android....like catyrom....my other mods can easily be done in windows
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Well shoot, I just found out the hard way that I shouldn't do too much to a .rfs image while mounted as a loop device in Linux. It works okay to pull some files, but since .rfs is a proprietary file system, permissions don't stick or work quite like you would think when changing files on the mounted image. So, extracting with MagicIso may just be a better way to go anyway before manipulating these rom filesystems.

How to Flash zipped file without custom recovery?

Hi there!
I have U30GT tablet which unfortunely till now didn't have any custom recovery. Some time I want to flash files to the ROM but due to this limitation I need to copy the files manually (easy job) and set the permission (hard job when there's a lot of files).
So is there any other ways that I can automated the task of copying the files and setting the correct permission without using custom recovery?
Many thanks!
Have you tried using a script or bat file to copy and set permissions through adb from your desktop?

Thanks. But I don't know how to do a script or bat file to be used with adb. Can you write up some guide for it?
I'll see what I can do. No garruntees. But another option is to push the files through adb then use v6 supercharger to fix emissions. Idk. Let me see if I can Whip something up for you.

package can be flashed through stock recovery but they are needed to be signed properly with the manufacturer's key

Thanks but I wanna copy files for some tweaks only.
Well I found 1 solution, that is to manually copy the files than use ROM Manager app to fix permission. Also found thread here in XDA about using .bat file to automated the push and set permission but as I very lacking in knowledge in using command, I'll stick to Root Explorer + ROM Manager combo.
you can root device, cat stock recovery.img, and then compile cwm recovery.
Check this website someone is working on getting CLOCKWORK recovery on U30GT

Download apk file

Guys I have been trying to download apk files on my phone whether it is direct on phone or by pc it will not take. I have unknown sources checked. I am lost on this one.
Any help would be great!

How about trying a different browser?
clean Rom/xda powerd by zero-lemon & tweaked out!!
Whether issue is with not able to download apk files or installing the apk files?
It is with bringing apk file on phone. If coming from pc I have to rename it to a zip file. It like the phone doesn't recognize the file type.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Phone is rooted also.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
If the file is renamed to zip. Then when you completed copying file from pc to phone again rename the file with apk extension.
I. E. If you have abc.apk and you rename to abc.zip while copying to phone, then rename file to abc.apk and install it
Thanks doesn't hurt....
I know that thanks for your help though but I hope I fixed it. After rebooting phone several times it dawned on me to unmount and remount sd card. Tried it and worked. We'll see if it worked 100%. Lol
