Ok so I have looked up root guides and I'm good for that
and I am finally getting the Nexus S and going on Mobilicity and my question is
1) Is there an OC kernel for ICS?
and 2) Do you flash ALL roms with CWM3 ? .. Because on my X10a There was a CWM5 and so I'm just wondering do we have to go and find a CWM5 recovery?
edit ; ALSO What is the best / Fastest ICS rom ?

Latest official version for Nexus S of CWM is 5.0.2.0, for your information. Available from the CWM page.
Do I install it regularly like how you do with CWM3 ?
and also Is mobilicity's Nexus S the Regular version or is it the 4G Nexus S?

Flash through fastboot or use ROM Manager from koush in market to install.
Mobilicity has the GSM version. So "regular" Nexus S.

you can oc the cm9 kernel. or use one of the many ics kernels found in the ns development forums here on xda. i prefer the trinity S144 1.44ghz kernel found here http://goo.gl/u2MuR
Trinity wouldn't let me go on Wi-fi .. So I went to GladOs ... 1.2 GHz & 1.4 GHz OC'd

2.3.4 how to crack the original recovery? / System / bin can not find the recovery file
read the development forum and search. everything you need to know is there.
for 2.3.4 recovery you need to flash a modified kernel.
There's no CM7 for our phones available.
If you want to get on a 2.3.4 ROM, there's Audiophile FTW, Valhalla and ICBINB.
You can follow my guide to prepare your phone before flashing any of those ROMs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223765
You'll have to do the reading and research but to reiterate what was said: no cm7 for the sgs4g yet -you might read that it can work in the non4g models but be aware its also said those versions aren't compatible worth our phones. There are some good roms though. I use drhonk kg4 kernel, icbinb kh2 and the tweaks by dsexton. 2700 quadrant scores without oc, 3400 at 1.3ghz. The phone is excellent. Fast, sleek, and it works.

Available in China, GSM and WCDMA networks, I brush the CWM kernel yesterday, from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194032, there is no stable ROM? Thank you.
Mr Jon,
now that you have modified recovery, you can flash any cwm gingerbread rom from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117554
though I wouldn't flash a KF rom, as those were early releases. try a KG or KH rom (KH are the newest).
Guys, i need your help, where can i get the Stock Kernel for Nexus S i9023? Anyone can also provide the link, please?
Thanks very much..
Flash the stock rooted rom on top and it will give you the stock kernel

You can download for Nexus S Stock kernel 2.3.3, 2.3.4, 2.3.6.
Here it is : http://www.4shared.com/file/N2U14BVV/Stock_Kernel.html
Hi,
I have installed Matr1x kernel. I am using Stock ICS Rom only. Will the New Jelly Bean Update.zip work.
Can i install using cwm.
Please advise me.

It should flash through CWM, but keep in mind it'll overwrite your recovery and replace your kernel.

Thanks for reply.
Does it will wipe my data/apps as well?
No. Everything will be the same. I flashed over ICS and everything was kept the same for me

has your kernel been replaced??? or is it the same ??
For ****s-and-giggles, I threw the matr1x kernel on top of my 4.1.1 ota last night ... It didn't work.

Yea. My app settings stayed the same, but like I said, my kernel got replaced, which is expected. I don't use matrix though and seeing as the kernel sources vary, chances of it working are pretty slim, as seen above.

Your kernel will get replaced. I wouldn't recommend it because I've tried other kernels with the official OTA JB ROM and the experience wasn't as smooth. I have yet to try Matr1x kernel yet though.
No different versiĆ³n of Ndroid not supported at least yet ;D
Lets just say hes workin on it i would expect
So......official JB 4.1 won't work on my Matr1x kernel

The CM9 zip itself contains the kernel that is to be flashed.. it is however 2.3.68.. get the 3.0.16 kernel from its thread..
Guys i have two question..Whats the difference between All other ROMs and Custom IO control (CM tweak)
links from https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AntDDKv-lS6IdEt6NWVkX01vNmpfbEh4MHo4eDRCbXc#gid=0
And the second one is to flash the kernel i must first flash kernel and then the rom or first the rom and then the kernel??Thnx
Cm tweak is for cm based ROMs, all others is for, well, all others. Flash kernel after flashing ROM.

How i will find which roms are CM based?
Read the thread about the ROM you are interested in. If I'm not familiar with a ROM, i generally read the first page and the last few pages. That way I see what the dev says about it, and see more recent reviews/comments about the current version
