Try to fully charge the battery and wipe battstat
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App

will do, but also it show the battery to be a certain % off charge, but when i plug it in it jumps up to a much higher number?
i flashed to in paris v5 and still same thing

If wiping the batterystats did not help and after using google (yes do that atleast for half an hour) you find no other explanation, your battery might be malfunctioning.
In the later case i would advice against charging the tab unattended.

How-to Train your Dragon[Battery]

To help with Battery Life you can do these steps exactly:
1) Turn your device ON and Charge the device for 8 hours or more
2) Unplug the device and Turn the phone OFF and charge for 1 hour
3) Unplug the device Turn ON wait 2 minutes and Turn OFF and charge for another hour Your battery life should almost double, I tested this on my pops evo and my epic...MAJOR DIFFERENCE
After installing a new Kernel it is recommended tat you recalibrate our battery to get the most life out of your battery. I suggest using Phoenix kernel but your a grown man[or woman] choose your kernel
Hope this helps
Thx to bigdbag for these additional steps

My god. I was highly skeptical of this but I tried a quick version of the instructions.
I did the following:
1. Charge to 100% while phone = ON
2. Once at 100%, unplug charger and turn phone OFF
3. Plug in charger for 5 minutes while phone = OFF
4. Unplug charger and turn phone ON
5. Leave phone ON for 5 minutes
6. Plug in charger for 5 minutes while phone = OFF
and the results... are miraculous. I'm running Phoenix Kernel v.1.43 and stock rom w/ drm removed.

Trick trick trick trickle charge Battery is in fast charge mode when it begins charging from a certain percentage (although slow). When the charge is in the 90's and you unplug and plug it back in it trickle charges to completion. This does indeed work. Works best in my opinion when you do this after you let the battery completely drain, plug in, recovery mode, wipe battery stats and then turn on.
And then do what you stated above.
Yes!!!!!!!!
Totally gonna do this since my battery seems to be on the down side compared to everyone else's. :]

i also reccomend an external battery charger that u place the battery into. no need for the trick. Ive used this trick before i got the external charger and yes it does work very well!
+1 on the ext charger. I have two batt. If I charge with the phone... one- goes from 100 to 97 withing sec from when I unplug it and two- it doesn't last as long. Using the charge and switching out the batts. Stays at 100 for a while and it will last forever too.

I noticed this as well, so when my indicator LED turns blue and it says 100%, I unplug, then immediately plug back in until blue.. lather rinse repeat.. after about 3 or 4 times it finally stays at 100% when unplugged..
That being said, I'm gonna have to try to find an external charger and another battery...
My local sprint store sells a charger with extra battery for $49.99. Its an external charger that fits in your pocket. With charging cord of course.

tried this, doesnt' seem to work for me. I unplugged, turned phone off, and charged, but phone said fully charged after like 15 minutes, I assume once it says 100% on the green battery that shows up when phone is off that I shouldn't just let it sit there? its not charging at that point anymore is it?
then i unplugged, turned on phone, waited 2 minutes, turned off, charged again, 15 minutes or so it was fully charged again.
This reminds me of the chargobics that some ppl did on their evo to get better battery life....never really helped me.

So what you're suggesting (re: recovery/battery stats) is the following:
1. use the phone until the battery completely dies.
2. plug the phone in
3. boot into recovery (clockwork ?)
4. wipe battery stats
5. turn the phone on
6. do the 'plug me in' dance after it's fully charged
What if the battery is fully charged and you wipe the battery stats ?
idk i think i used to do something similar on my Hero and even back on my (WinMo) Mogul and Touch Pro and never really got much out of it......
However, today I did this and I swear I'm getting great battery life today. Have never gotten past 12 hours and I'm currently sitting at about 40% left at 12 hours. Could be the placebo effect but we'll see..... even played some angry birds today.

FTW!!!
Took 11 days to get here, but worth EVERY penny. I never need to worry about to battery life anymore. Hell, now that I charge my batteries using the external charger, I get atleast 8-10 hours with constant use, and my battery doesn't drop from 100 right away. I never get to the 3rd battery by the end of the day and thats with a 18 hour day unplugged. Worth it.
I have noticed some weirdness with the battery. I looked at the juiceplotter graph after the battery had been left charging all night, and it would charge to 100 and then over th course of half an hour drop down to 95% or so and then recharge up to 100 over and over and over again. I have taken it off the charger sometimes and the battery has gone from 100% to 96 % within a couple minutes and other times it stays at 100% for over an hour. It was a matter of luck as to when I pulled my phone off I guess, when it was really at 100% or really at 95-97% or anywhere inbetween.
Gonna try this PITA method of charging. Hope it works, but damn is it inconvenient.
The external battery charger is the way to go. i have also noticed when i rarely charge from the phone that it sometimes wont stay at 100 but for a minute then drop to 97. i get 55 hours to one battery with moderate usage.
This didnt really do anything. Unplugged from my charger at 1:50pm, its been exactly 2 hours and its at 77%. Mostly my phone was in my pocket, and I did very light browsing over 3g (maybe 10 minutes).
I'm on Latest Epic Experience with Mixup Kernel. And I don't have OC widget or Setcpu.

Try running the same setup with phoenix 1.43 kernel. Still super snappy and way better battery then mix up.
I'm also using external charger, 30+hrs with screen on for 6hrs

Is it really that much better? If so, what causes it to be better on battery life? I am getting great battery life using the mixup kernel because I have juicedefender and setcpu working hard to conserve battery life. Would Phoenix make a difference?
Just a FYI, Lithium-Ion batteries don't hold a memory like NiCad batteries did. It is also NOT good to drain them all the way down.
read and follow directions

I had similar problem yesterday. It sticked with %89 then I unpluged the charger and rebooted the phone. This time it says %100. Looks like there is a problem with calculation of percentage.
Yeah...mine takes a really long time to charge. I know lithium ion batteries charge slowly after it reaches 80%, but it still seems a lot slower than my previous phone.
yeah.. i rebooted and it was up to 99%.. strange. although it drained very quickly back to 87%... since been 3 hours and its not down to 77%.. so i think it is settling.. maybe an update
Desparately awaiting the root so all these irritating bugs can be addressed
mine took 4 hours yesterday....
Same puy my phone on charging in the afternoon at 10% and 3 hours later it was 75% which is not bad but still slower then usual
I plugged mine into a wall charger at 10 pm last night. At 6 am it was still showing charging and not full. Has to be a software bug. No way it can charge for 8+ hours and not be fully charged.

Please Help HTC S Charging Behavior

Hey Guys
I bought my HTC Sensation about 3-4 days ago. No root, No S-OFF. For past few days, i followed battery charging procedure, drained battery completely, left phone off, and charged it. I did same procedure few times. Doing this procedure really improved battery life on HTC Incredible S.
Anyway, last night, battery was running low 30% after 14 hr use. I needed alarm for morning so, at 10pm i plug phone to charger and left it on. 4:30 am, got up, and orange led light (charger indicator) still on. Check phone, and it still charging. Checked battery and it shows 50% charge. Anyway unplugged it, fetched to work put on charge, after about 1.30 hr still at 60%.
Decided to restart phone, as soon i did restart, battery went back to 100%.
Does anyone experienced this?
Nope, that sounds weird. I would suggest battery calibration for you if this is a reoccuring thing.
Sent from my HTC Sensation
Do i need S-OFF or rooting to get battery calibrated?
Is any other way to get it calibrated without root or S-OFF?
Oh crap. I think you do need to be rooted to use the calibration app. My bad. Try using the search button? I would do it, but I'm not on my computer now.

My battery took forever to charge the 1st couple of times... After about 3/4 charges it sorted itselft out. Good luck
I am kinder hoping it was one of software glitch, hopefully it won't happen again. Will report back after few more charge cycles.

Mine also took a long time the first few charges (probably 5 hours or so). It now charges in well under 3 hours.
Same here. When new & after a factory reset, it will take a LONG time to recharge. But will sort out after a few cycles.
Thanks guys,
I don't know what happens, but after 5hr use (heavy use), few voice calls (one about 30 min) emails sync every 15 min. Battery shows me that i used only 9%, impressive! I installed battery widget to see if some software issue, but seems to be only 1% out. Phone shows 90% life left, widget 91% (but still calibrating)

Hi,
As far as I'm aware,it needs to be cycled three, maybe four times before it settles down.
Keep charging and discharging to get the benefit.
The other thing of course is,how much do you use it,and what are you running on your phone?
Lol I know I am not using it that much. Thanks so much for the response
CM7 or Android Revolution HD
Watch for auto sync applications, I had an issue with an app that was just constantly connected and syncing and kept the phone awake, phone died in less than 7 hours, disabled sync for that app, and now I get plenty of life out of it. The above guy is right though, you do need to do several cycles of fully discharge, fully recharge (and by fully discharge I mean the phone should not respond to the power button, it should be completely dead, and by fully charge, you should leave it on the charger for at least an hour, maybe two, past the green light to ensure it really is fully charged.)

[Q] Battery not working!

I own an unlocked Galaxy Tab 2 GT-P3100 running CM11 Android 4.4.2 unofficial.
Today, the battery Was at 90% and after a minute, 7% and when I unplugged the charger 0%. Shut Down!
The screen that shows battery when turned off showed 100% after 5 minutes. But when I turned it on, it was showing 5%. Just after 15 minutes, It showed 100%.
I want to revert back to official firmware 4.2.2 and I am scared that battery may go out while flashing.
Thanks in advance! :good:
