[Q] After a reboot "Tell HTC" launches - HTC Desire S

Hi!
After a normal reboot of my Desire S running Endy 3.0 the "Tell HTC"-application launches.
This is the text in the app:
"The phone has just recovered from an abnormal reset. Would you like to tell HTC?"
There I have the option to tell HTC or to close the app.
I really would like to know how I can find out what causes the launch of "Tell HTC"?
If you need more information please tell me what you need to know.
Thank you.

Its a useless warning.
You can turn this message off by going to Settings>About Phone>Tell HTC and untick both the check boxes. You will not get the warning "Tell HTC" message ever again.
Hope this helps.

This was a fast answer!
So, if I interpret "useless warning" correctly, the phone did not "recover from an abnormal reset"?

Exactly. There is no abnormal reset...
Even if there was, there's nothing HTC would do about it anyway!
All you'd be doing is sending them a summary of your current configuration.
It's not as if HTC would come to your home and fix the problem in your handset if there was any, lol!!!
Get rid of it, and enjoy peace of mind!!

Please Help!!! Call Ended dialogue box is driving me crazy

i have an unlocked unbranded treo 750. Everything works great except that when I end calls a little dialogue box pops up to tell me that the call ended and how long it lasted. This to me is the only really annoying thing about the treo 750. can anybody please please tell me how to disable this dialogue box that pops up!! thanks in advance.
I couldn't agree more! I wanted to bump this so maybe it could get a second look from some of the pro's out there. Seriously, nothing is more aggravating than that inane notification popping up and interrupting whatever it is that you are doing.
Does anyone know how to disable this?
Actually, now that I think about it, it doesn't happen after every call, just a select few - what gives? Possibly only when I'm also using the phone for another function?
I'd love to know how to disable this as well! I know the Pros on this forum have an answer!

Hello, m facing the same problem, if someone have its solution then plz share with us

Strange problem CANT ACCESS MESSAGING

When I try to get into my email or SMS on my touch pro nothing happens. Whether I do it from the Home Screen or the Start menu, there is no response when I try to open it. I've also had a couple of people send me texts and no ring nor vibrate.
I've never had this problem before. I've restarted the phone a bunch of times. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Had the same thing this morning, a soft reset solved it for me though...
(ROMeOs V1.12)
Did you hard reset yet? What ROM are you running?

Are you using a taskmanager? If not, you should try to install one. I think messaging will probably still be running in the background and for some reason stuck there. That would also explain why you don't receive any notifys on new messages.
Just an idea. HTH
I Updated to ROMeOS1.22, and have had no problem since...
The Task manager did not show Messaging running though..
Mine did the same last night. Soft reset did not cure the problem. I had to power off / on.

may i know what sms task prog name? izzit tmail.exe?
today happen again, seem nothing wrong with tmail.exe from background. But i close the task, and i able to access my messaging again without soft reset.
make sure you have your email set to download the whole message because if you don't it will not allow you to open the emails. especially if it is set to the default 2k. This will stop you from even clicking on the message. hope this helps

Yes, tmail.exe is pocket outlook. So when this is still running in background that's exactly what I mentioned above. I had this problem once on my TyTN and I fixed it by using a task manager that really closes pocket outlook every time I press OK.

I thought I was doing something wrong to have this problem. It only happened a few times and only with sms. Glad to see a workaround.

You're welcome, glad I could help (at least a little)
I don't know another solution unfortunately. I bought HandySwitcher at that time and set it to close applications by default (which also worked with the hardware OK button). That way I never encountered the problem again.

[Q][PROBLEM] HTC Sense 3.0 Lockscreen issue - no 4 buttons

Hello All,
First of all - sorry for my english
Secound - I'm new in Android, my previous device was HTC Touch HD (aka Blackstone) - so I'm a little used to WinMo 6.5
I bought my Sensation last wednesday. It is a stock S-ON RL device (info about ROM is in my signature).
I have non-root'ed device.
Until yesterday (saturday) everything was O.K.
I set up a lockscreen with weather and one custom button (pointed to task manager - built one, not downloaded from Android Market).
Today morning i noticed issue with lockscreen.
There is no buttons above lock ring (any of them), and there is no weather shown.
I did soft-reset my device several times and that doesn't help.
When i go to "home screen" => "personalization" => "lockscreens" => and select (screen 1a, 2a) any of them, then return to "Home Screen" and press POWER button (to activate lockscreen) and again POWER button to see actual lockscreen (screen 3a) - I still don't see any of the four buttons (and weather)...
What's wrong? Anyone have ideas?
I don't see any setting, which could disable the four buttons....
If I wrote something ununderstandable, please let me know
Have I done something wrong? Why yesterday everything was OK? Could something be wrong during night? :/
Sorry for poor quality of screens, my work-phone is prehistorical
Any help would be appreciated
Thanx in advance
this guy in this thread is having the same issue. look through that thread & see what people are saying.

I hope these information can help you.
Had the same issue, solved.
Run the Setup App again

Turn screen off you should have the apps and widget back
If this works, pass it around on other forums

Widgetlocker problem

Hi,
Since two days I'm a happy and proud Note owner, but there's one thing, that makes me really go crazy:
I installed the program "Widgetlocker", because the standard lockscreen is quite broing. It actually works quite good, but sometimes the standard lockscreen still apears. Not instead of the widgetlocker, but additional. So I always have to unlock two lockscreens.
Does anybody else has got this problem? And how can I fix it?
I tried to find a solution in different forums and in the program configuration, without sucess!
Thanks for help!
Edit: The error apears mostly when there's a pop-up (gtalk e.g.) or when I plug in the charger....
I turned on root helper and home helper in settings, that fixed it for me. I'm on Stock Rooted XXKK9 if that helps.

I presume you have set the lock screen to "none" in the actual phone settings too?

My widgetlocker works fine. Been using it since day 1. Hmm.. Sorry. Not sure how to help.
chrcad,
Your problem seems related to the fact that Android is not having enough memory left ans simply closes "useless" apps and considers that WL is part of them. To prevent that to happen, simply check in advanced settings the "refuse to suspend WL" box and Android will look another application than WL to close

Thanks @ everybody for the help, but unhappily it's still not working properly.
The problem always apperas, when the phone's sleeping and a gTalk message comes in.... but ONLY, when the gTalk ppop-up is activated......
Any (more) idea?
you are leaving it running all the time aren't you?
I use to have the same problem, very rarely but it was still annoying. I have put a lock on widgetlocker so if I ever close all programs, widgetlocker is still running. It's not happened since but it's only been a few days so I'll see.

Some pop-ups cause this if they're designed to appear underneath the stock lockscreen rather than dismiss it.
For now:
1) Easy Wake Mode disables the system lockscreen
2) WL Settings > Long-press volume down for Experimental > Aggressive Dismiss stock lockscreen. This should work, but it's not well tested yet so it's off by default.

[Q] What is AboutPhone in Settings

Recently, I just realized that in my Settings page just under the attentive phone there's a menu which says "AboutPhone" which when I click shows SAR value (see attached). Anyone having this or is it just me? I wonder how it suddenly appear on my phone and how to remove? Thanks!
So nobody has this AboutPhone menu? I'll try to hard reset and see if its still there then...

Which phone/handset is this? I don't have that menu under settings.
Htc 8x of course, it is the 8x forum.... anyway I did a hard reset (full wipe data) and it went away, I guess after installing something but I couldn't remember what app from the market.
Could it be, that the edition of your phone has some early dev-style leftovers? When have you purchased it, did the box contain anything unusual, like a sticker saying not for resale?

Nope, i'm sure my device is retail. I reset my phone, setup as new and the menu was gone. Must be something I installed and while uninstalling the app left that settings.. So probably best to be careful what you install otherwise the apps will leave junk

Only OEM apps can add a menu in settings. Ah well, since the problem is gone, must be a fluke.

I think its based on your carrier, as my setting screen doesn't have the same as yours. For example, I don't have the 'regulatory' selection on mine. I am running on Verizon USA, so maybe carrier based.
