the updates for the bravo rom can be found under the development section of our milestone xt720 subforum. just download those and put them into openrecovery>updates, and flash them thru whatever openrecovery you're using. for performance improvements, you can try using the supercharger. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
everything u need for the supercharger to work can be found there.
i dont overclock or use setcpu. i feel the phone does well enough itself.

Which ROM ?? > New Noob Milestone User's Question ;)

Hi Mates!
Tomorrow i'm going to recieve the post package with my brand new Moto Milestone I can't wait...
I have looked through threads abouts available ROM versions and I dont know which one should I flash to my new device... I want to have everything working, and good battery lifetime (bla bla bla , You say I should stay at stock ROM, but I wand something more)
It would be nice if the rom has overclock. It should be smooth and beautiful.
I request suggestions Thanks alot
Hi,
I would avoid official one, go for Got's 2.38 or try EclairMOD by 89luca89
Maybe Got's one if you begin with android.
They are 2.1 android, much more stable than the Motorola's one.
After some time, you can make a nandroid backup of all your system, and then test Dexter_nlb "rom" like Sense UI MOD or MotoBlur or MotoFrenzy, they are Android 2.2 based Mod. That's for the one i tested, but they are maybe other mods.
Thank You;-) so at last I get my Miledtone, which is my 3rd andro phone. Now I'll try the stock eclair but I'm going to do some changes firstly I'll learn typing on phisical keyboard

With Got's image all the phone functions are working well?
The installation of this SW is like installation of the original one using RSDLite?
Many thanks in advance.

You should just update with the recent ones. No use in using an old outdated one or some beta. I dont think anyone would wasn't to use those. Just my two cents. But this thread IS for all after all.

Well, you never know, someone may prefer the older ones.
thats what i thought. just in case someone wants to try out Eclair or the Beta build its available without searching. as time passes the new ones will be added to the top of the list. no sense in removing any, i think. soon it can be an impressive list
thanks for your thoughts guys

thanks for the effort bro,
-the Intruder Beta is already listed,
-the Cheap Dirty CM6 is not worth posting since i linked both fully functioning CM6 ROM's,
-im not gonna link the OTA Asia updates because flashing them at this point is not recommended.

cm7? its available now!
thanks, but i dont see the stable release yet. only the nightlies so far. we could probably add the latesy nightly and then replace it when stable mod is released
We have a new ROM, espresso not fully functional, but it boots!

This phone is going to end up in the legacy section soon. The only developer left is winsuk. I think muneji got a new phone, and attn1 has been gone for a while. The OP also is probably gone with a new phone, hence the only updated thread development will see is Winsuk's

[Q] What ROM should I choose?

Hi, I know there's no such thing as the "best" ROM, it depends entirely on taste and on what you're expecting. So, I'm searching for a 2.3.4, stable, as fast as possible ROM with no particular tweaks if not for increasing speed and memory...should I simply go with a deodexed stock or is there something better speedwise? Thank you in advance!

I would also like to get this tip...Speed increase and more available memory, maybe some tweaks in the notification bar, but besides that I would like to keep my phone pretty much in stock form.
If speed tweaks are all you want with very high stability, check out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065392
His ROM (When he reposts it) is very stable and very fast.
Install that with James Bond or Netarchy kernel and you'll have a very fast/stable setup.
Ok, great, thanks!

Thanks for the tip! That ROM seems to be exactly what I want.
Can I add shortcuts or power controls to the pull down notification bar with a separate app, or should they be cooked to the ROM? If I can could somebody point me to the right directionwhere I could find this kind of separate app? Thanks!
If you want something a little more customized, but still pretty stock, you could try the infin1ty ROM. I've been using it for a while now, it is very quick and very stable. The dev is also very involved and posts regular updates about new features and bug reports.

I would suggest you to use SupeASOP v8.0.
I find that rom is the best after i tried different roms.
Cm7 is good but not to my expectation.
I would recommend you to try SupeASOP v8.0 with kernel of Netarchy Nexus - 1.3.0.12-cfs-2.3.4-universal (Universal for non-stock 2.3.4 roms).

I flashed this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1060192
Rooted it by flashing su (before rebooting):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682828
And, after first reboot I flashed Netarchy kernel (CFS 2.3.4 stock):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936219
BLAZING fast...much faster (at least in my everyday use) than anything else I've tried...battery life also seems really good...thank you guys!
Why do you prefer this rom?

Ok, this rom is working great, but I get a force close when I try to make a video chat on talk...audio chat is fine...I saw many users had this problem on nexus s but I haven't understood if it's a rom related problem or a general problem with 2.3.4 on this phone...any suggestions?

I don't know much about your ROM, but there was/is an issue where you have to have your volume all the way down before you start a video chat on talk. Some ROMs have it fixed, some don't. Also, some ROMs have an issue where only the back camera works with video chat.
I know most devs are working on incorporating the fix for talk into their ROMs. If it is a deal breaker for you, take a look around at different ROMs, we are very fortunate to have many active and talented devs working on various ROMs.

[Q] Are custom ROMS worth the try for milestone xt720?

Are custom roms worth it if I already have quite a lot of internal memory (~90mb) becos of link2sd and 1ghz processer becos of milestone overclock?? Do custom ROMs provide more advantages than the ones stated above? Any help would be appreciated!!
Are you on a stock Android 2.2 ROM?
If yes, then you can stay on. There are some tweaks on custom ROMs but nothing much that you would miss.
If no, then its a no brainer. Just move on to a custom 2.2 ROM without any delay. The XT720 will be like a new phone for you in all respects be it performance or usability.
Cheers

No im just on the stock 2.1. Performance and stability wise it is better if I move to dexter's 2.2 rom?? but i already have a 1ghz processor and loads of internal space free. what other advantages do the custom roms provide?
I have found that my battery life as well as the overall performace of my phone have improved since updating to Dexter's Froyo v1.3. Before my phone was crashing and restarting for no reason running Eclair now it is running as it should. Thanks Dexter, XDA and all other developers for all that you do.
So you think Dexter v1.3 is the best one?Im on steelepic and have few probs, the phone reboots itself,it gets slow itself, batterie trayns faster.......

Best GB ROM?

Hello friends!
Presently I am on Osmanfans 1.3 based on XXKB3 Froyo. As its a pretty long time since I updated, I am planning to update. As the phone will be used by my wife and she doesnt like to experiment a lot, please guide me as to which is the best ROM and kernal available as of now.
Please donot confuse me with multiple choices. I want to shift to a Gingerbread ROM which is complete in itself and doesnt lack features. I checked the features of MIUI and it looked nice but unfortunately it doesnt support Video recording and seems to have battery issues.
All said and done, give me one ROM that you guys think is the best...
Thank you.

I will suggest u 2 simple options
1. XXKPQ Its one of the most famous GB rom available which most of the people & most of the kernel developers use it as base rom. So I highly recommand u to use it.
2. DDKP3 Its Indian based rom which has most highest battery backup in GB rom. But as compared to xxkpq it has less mods avalable in forum.
U can use use xda bam kernel or doomlord kernel. Both are superb kernels.
Choice is urs...!!

dont misguide people plz.
If your wife has to use it then I suggest you stick to xxkb3 rom which has least bugs whereas all gb roms have bugs at my last count it was having 7 bugs. These bugs either have workaround or custom mods or use custom kernal which solves these bugs.
I am using stock kpq, rooted, de-odexed and removed all unnecessary apps. Added necessary mods.
Pretty happy with it.
