Forgive me if there is another topic about this subject and you great mods can close this thread. A lot of the Desire HD Sense 3.0 and other ROMs based on 3.5 show 4 bars of signal strength. I'm used to 5 bars. Would I need to use the kitchen to produce the modded signal bar? The signal bar is all I want to alter on some of these Roms, I don't want to change nothing else. Would I need the devs permission to mod that part of the ROM, especially since the mod would be for myself? Until this I get an answer or this thread gets locked, whichever comes first, I will continue to search the entire XDA forum for my answer. Thanks!

What ROM are using? Why don't you try the kitchen and see if its there and then let us know how it went. I haven't been in the kitchen in a while but that's the best thing about this dev site, you got the tools to do these things yourself. Do it. haha, as for permission, if your using it for yourself and have no intention to lend it out I don't think a dev would mind, its when you start pushing it out to others that they might want some credit where credit is due kind of thing ya know
Kool, appreciate the response. I'm using RunnyDroid right now and it has the 5 bar signal strength. A lot of the Roms that are based on the sense 3 update for the Desire HD, and some of the sense 3.5 Roms, only have 4 bars. I just want to mod the Roms to get back to what I'm used to and try out these great Roms.

I really appreciate the link. Everything I was typing in to search was bringing up no results. This is actually gonna be the next Rom I try.

I appreciate the offer, but I wanna try myself. There are too many sense based Roms I haven't tried to ask for the signal meter for all of them.

Hey everyone. I have been searching to no avail and was wondering if maybe someone can help. I'm using a pretty much stock rom, just rooted, and running adw EX. I know there are gingerbread themes for CM6.1, which change the notification bar icons and all to green, but I have yet to see one for a sense rom. Even the ADW themes dont change the notification bar (unless I'm missing something?) Can someone out there point me in the right direction if there is one? Thanks!
I have yet to see one and im a rom/theme junkie lol.

I made one that I am using on my phone right now with Wes's Z rom, but I can't for the life of me change the 3g icon to anything, it always remains the stock icon. Everything else is Gingerbread themed though. Apparently Wes is making one as well, I am asking him how he changed the 3g icon (if he was able to) so that I can finish mine. I did, however, incorporate DarkTharen's Conservative icons into my status bar, so the only Gingerbread icons in my status bar are the usuals (reception bars, battery [with percentage], and WiFi).

I'm really bummed about that too. Been running your theme for a while and I love it. I wish I could toss some coin into your computer fund, but I don't have it at the moment

There is one for anyone running an EVO Framework based ROM (myn's Warm atleast) over in the Evo section.

Can't this be pretty easily ported to the incredible framework?

Personally, I'm hoping for a stock Gingerbread set for Z roms... Huge thanks to you if you can do this!
it's very simply to make the status bar black, with the green 3g,wifi, signal bars, battery, but the black menu is a different thing, within sense.
ive had it done for awhile on my super-z standard rom
heres a link if you didnt find one already.
there are 3 colors to choose from and im working on more

I've been seeing screens with these custom lockscreens. How do I go about getting some of these? Do I have to create them myself? Sorry if I sound like a total newbie. I'm probably gonna be stuck with my Hero for another year because of Sprint's changes. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Most people use widget locker in order to get a custom lock screen. It's a paid app though.

now if you just want an alternate lockscreen there is a few lockbot is the best but i will say its very laggy and half the time your system lockscreen overrides it
I really just want something that actually replaces the stock screen. Whenever up tried using lockscreen apps they tend to be buggy and... like you said, the stock screen overrides the app. I just want something flashable that overrides the stock screen, not the other way around.
I haven't had time to search for anything but will try tomorrow.

I've not seen any actual lock screen replacements. Cm7 has about 5 different styles but i haven't seen any replacement lock screens in a while since everyone was putting vanilla lock screens on sense
¿dpeeps74?
word, using widget locker is legit, paid for app but its great!! I have 3 different widgets on the screen and it's only not worked like once but i think it was a phone issue not the actual program.
I've been flashing around between Desire HD ROMS on my Inspire and I found the H+ Logo to replace the H (here) but I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to change it to signal strength meter to the 5 bars instead of 4 like the Stock AT&T Rom uses
Sorry not to sure
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App
Yes!
you can change the icon of 4-level to 5-level, but you shoul prepare the 5-level pics
the icons are stored in framework-res.apk,which position is /system/framework/
I really hope you don't DIY without any specs, or ,your phone may become BRICK! that's mean you should re-flash the ROMs
anybody? i would love to have this back
Modify the images in the framework and the XML. That is the only way.

someone posted a .zip in RCMix3D thread.
Although I frequently switch back and forth between a lot of ROMs, I keep coming back to GingerBeast time and again, despite the fact that it's now unsupported. Frowny face.
Anyway, I'm looking for as stock an experience as I can have and would like to change the lockscreen from the default rotary interface to Google's sliding tab interface. I've done a lot of Google searching and read through the GingerBeast thread, but I'm posting here to ask to be pointed in the right direction before I bootloop my phone. Is the UOT kitchen the best place to accomplish this? Anyone have any other ideas? What files need to be modified? Anything at all you can provide would be appreciated.

I've tried widget locker, and it's a fantastic app, but it would have to sit and run in the background just to superficially change my lockscreen to something so basic, eating up cycles. That and I wouldn't even use half of its features.
By the way, fantastic contributions to Ninja! Definitely one of my favs.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner Joe. I'm not sure if it could be done....by me, anyway. Avatar's themes are MIUI based that have been altered to run on a jellybean framework. I'm not sure if that's done thru the ROM's framework itself or whether it is embedded in the "theme.apk" file. It's just something I will have to look into for you. I'll be happy to take a look as soon as I'm not in the middle of trying to get another port out there to you guys. If you're curious though you can Google Rootbox 4.2.2 and see what I'm trying to make cooperate for us.....
i think you can use baooka launcher on any jellybean rom and there are tons of themes for it. i beleive the themes are only tied into the launcher and not so much the system
Thank you both Matt and Steve, I'm on my way to Google both of the suggestions:thumbup::beer:

GREAT! I know they're altered MIUI but I didn't realize it was contained in the launcher. Dang if that doesn't give me an idea or two. LOL
.....More than welcome Joe.
Matt, that is the ticket! Installed bazooka launcher, downloaded the themes and they carried over when I switched between Nova, Trebuchet or any other launcher! FANTASTIC! thank you!:thumbup:
