What were you doing before you were unable to read your emails? Were you flashing a new rom? Give more details.
It starting happening just all of the sudden. I switched from 3.6.7 to 3.6.8 and it still occurred.
What email account is it? Have you tried removing the account and then re-adding it? Do you have more than one account and are they affected? If its only the one account you have try opening up a new account to see if that one is also affected?
I apologise if you have tried all this but you haven't said what you have done.
me too

I am not sure if this started after the OTA or not, but my yahoo account will let me see the image /message for a second then disappear. Quite annoying. Does not happen with Google mail though.
Yea its a yahoo, and i tried all of that. Its weird because i got an email from amazon and it opened, yet all the others won't.
I too have same problem
Hi,
I have same problem with my htc inspire and htc sensation from yahoo and inbuilt mail program in android. If I use K9 mail client it is working fine. So I guess it is nothing to do with yahoo. It might be compatibility between android in build mail program and yahoo.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I'm having problems with HTC mail. It doesn't want to load any email from my yahoo account. It was working fine out of the box till yesterday. I did restarts, factory restores, etc... Still not loading. Just wondering if any of you have this problem.

Same issue here. it worked for less than a week. I've had to rest to Yahoo mail android app.
Maybe it's trying to say Yahoo mail sucks?
When you have the mail app open hit menu, settings, send & receive, download past email and make sure you have something other than 1 day selected. I'm using 14 days for my work email and seems to be just the right amount.
Who uses yahoo?

I read about this a few days ago. Yahoo did what Hotmail did and is requiring a "plus" account to use IMAP features or something like that.
This was the initial reason I switched to gmail years ago. If I can remember, the solution is to use the Yahoo app as mentioned.

Guys I had the same issue, it was working out of the box and then stopped working here is what worked for me.
Delete your yahoo mail account and create a new one, this time use a wrong password(I know it doesnt make any sense) then the phone will tell you AUTHENTICATION FAILED(since you put the wrong password). Now put the correct password and it will work.
Let me know if still an issue.
I've flashed my htc sensation with android revolutionary hd 4.1.7.. Htc sense 3.5... But Unable to log in to phone's google account... Like gmail, market, maps and etc.. Even fb and twitter. Use a different ROM?
Please do not send PMs to everyone about a tread you just started. If you want answers, wait for them in the tread please.
As for your problem, I have no idea how to help, as you leave very little description of what is happening when you try to log in.
do you get any error messages? does the connection time out? exactly what do you experience?
Hi, I'm running a custom Rom arhd 4.1.8 with sense 3.5 and everything works great EXCEPT facebook for HTC sense. It won't even show up in the accounts and sync list. I tried downloading the actual .apk file, installing it, moving it to /system/apps, fixing permissions and restarting to no avail. I have tried removing my HTC account from facebook hoping that would "restart" it somehow.
Has anyone heard of this issue before? It really is a minor.nuisance because the regular facebook account syncs fine butttttt it was annoying the hell out of me that my pictures and statuses aren't coming up when I look through people and when they call me.
Oh, btw, it works fine on previous versions of arhd. I think it might be an issue with sense 3.5 but, I'm no expert.
Don't fret it's there but hides itself behind the official Facebook app. Just sign in using the official Facebook app. The Sense version will pop up immediately and ask for permission to access your Facebook account.

Thanks for responding. I did know that already though haha. that's actually the problem. When I choose to sync my facebook account, it will pop up a facebook window after I hit "sync" and it looks as though its going to authorize faceboock for HTC but for some retarded reason, it exits out and an error notification appears in my notification bar saying "you need to authorize facebook for htc sense. And I'm like "wtf!!! It is authorized because I checked on facebook.com and its listed in my apps!!!
So the problem probably lies in the actual authorization phase of syncing. It's really getting on my nerves. I don't understand why it would work for sense 3.0 Roms but not 3.5. I just installed insertcoin hoping for different results but the same damn thing keeps happening.
Anybody else have an answer???
It just works fine for me.

Okay, either I'm an idiot, or it fixed itself. Either way, I'm happy!!! Haha problem solved.
Hi there.
Altough I've searched it through Desire S forum, I couldn't find anything about it. I've been using Endymion V3.5 ROM for about a week and I can't get any Facebook notifications. I've done all settings on the app and phone's accounts and sync. But nothing happened. All other social network notifications works perfect e.g. Instagram, Foursquare, Twitter. Just Facebook resists. Wondering is it about ROM or anything else? I've started using Facebook after I've installed this ROM btw. I haven't been using it since 2009. Thus, I can't say anything about my previous use.
So is there anything I can do about it?
Thanks for your help.
Did you install Facebook and Facebook Messenger? Notifications are working again since I uninstalled the extra messenger..

It didn't work, I get a friend request but there was no notification even though I installed the messenger app. Any other ideas?

It's the app. The push notifications don't work.
@john, I've read yours wrong first. Messenger app wasn't installed. Nothing changed.
@fini what to do?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA
You could Try the App " Friendcaster ".
Just login with your Fb credentials & allow the app access to your Fb profile.
The App has everything you need, from notifications.... To Syncing your Fb friends list!

Friendcaster didn't send notifications either.
Now I'm wondering is it because I've cleared all notifications for mail.

There is an app for that

The email app installed on the HTC One S is horrible compared to the standard android app when using it for activesync/exchange.
It doesn't display email properly and doesn't have message advance and back icons. You have to open the menu to get to them.
Does anyone know of a way to replace it?
You could just install a different email app. I hear good things about K-9 Mail (have not tried personally).
I actually think the standard android email app is pretty bad for Exchange, since its meeting invites do not show time or place directly.
I've used k-9 for imap connections, but it won't do an activesync connection to sync my contacts and calendar, unless there's a new version that does that.
I switched back to "Enhanced Email".
I couldn't find a way to change the ringtone in the one that came with the phone.
I also didn't like that you couldn't move back and forth through the messages like mentioned above.
I see Enhanced Email is $9.99 in Google Play.
I got it for free when it was the app of the day for Amazon.
I didn't know there were any alternatives other than Touchdown.
I'll give it a try.
Thanks.
I fully agree with you.
I already complained a month ago to htc for the lack of html support for example.
They escalated it to their technical support with no answer yet.

What are you talking about? HTC email app has the html support. Its like basic feature!
At least my exchange server, the original ics one showed html while the htc one option is grayed out and not working.

I have three different activesync acounts on my htc one, and none of them display hmtl.
Also, the attachment don't display from the mail client. You have to download them and open them directly from a viewer app.
Weird. It works on my exchange activesync account. See attached.
Attachments work fine too.

I don't think so. Whatever the exchange server version is, html should always be supported. Did you say it worked on other android phones?

When I had my Desire, I installed one of the ICS beta version (AOSP) and on that native ICS email client with the same exchange server, html support worked great.

Its definitely a bug in your email app since it works for me and other android phones. I would suggest removing the account and adding back if you havent tried that already. I would also factory reset and see if it fixes. if nothing, the only option is to get a replacement.

Thanks for the Info and efforts.
I did several factory resets with no change.
I also already had the firmware updated with no change.
I asked htc support about that and they escalated it still with no answer for more than a month.
Yet, when I enter an account which is not my exchange server like Gmail and such, I do get html support. That's why I figured the issue is related top my exchange server version...

Just out of curiosity, what is the version of the Mail app on your phone? Maybe this is not an issue in all T-Mobile US phones because of different version.
