Multimedia station apps without dock - Milestone 2 Accessories

Hi,
I'm trying to find a solution to launch the multimedia station processus (com.motorola.dock).
This application exist in the appli-manager/all, but i can't find it in the normal application list... so i can not run it without the Desk-dock. -_-
I think it's exactly the same thing with the car-dock, witch figure in the applications list, and i can run it without the car-dock.
I found an appli in the market called Dockservice that seems to be what i'm looking for, but it does not work
Any solution?
thanks guys!

They can be activated by using a magnet. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtL4wr9Q4G4

Thanks

dock home on CM versions
Hello!!
It would be so nice if CM for milestone 2 had a dock home like the retail rom.

Any BT gamepad and keyboard?

Will I be able to use a BT keyboard or gamepad with my
desire?
Read about it at the N1 forum but its seamd to be a bít of a bother
to get it to work.
Is there a HID inbuilt in the Desire or do I need an app?
What I want to be able to do is to write long documents with the keyboard and play games useing an emulator and a gamepad.
I understand that the Freedom Universal 2 should work on the Desire with (not free) an app from the Android market place (search using "bluetooth keyboard"). I have ordered this keyboard as soon I manage to test it I will post results.
Sounds wonderful.
Im looking forward to your review.
Regarding the gamepad:
http://www.mymobilegear.com/showthread.php?p=17452
I'm also interested in whether a bluetooth keyboard will work. I'm getting an Apple Bluetooth mini keyboard soon, which should be nice to use at times when I'm away and need to type some long emails
I have a noname BT keyboard that works out of the box with windows mobile. With Android, the keyboard can be paired with the Desire, but it seems that no key input services are available in the Desire BT implementation. I understand that there is a BT driver floating around that could fix this issue. If I find the solution, I will post an update.
Bad news my Freedom Pro keyboard does not seem to work with the KeyPro app, the only app in the Android market as far as I know that provides drivers for BT keyboards. I have left a message on the mymobilegear.com forum so hopefully the developer will respond sson.
There is another driver/app: blueinput. I cannot get it working but you can try your luck.
Unfortunately the teksoft BT driver does not work either - major problem after a rebooted I found I could not enter my passpword and therefore had to do perform a hard reset! You have been warned (look here: http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=blueinputandroid&tab=download)
what a shame.
thanks for your tries and i would love to use an external bt keyboard too.
i will try to find a cheap / second hand bt keyboard to test around
With Blueinput and KeyPro I think the issue is that they cannot work with the BT on the Desire. I have left messages on the developer forums but no feedback yet. Blueinput, if it worked, would be very promising as it should work with most HID keyboard (iGo, Stowaway etc).
Seams as if the kayboard have to be a SPP kayboard.
Not HID.
Freedom is working on a driver for android for their own Freedom
series keyboards.
Would be great to hear news about this.

Save yourself for a wii remote. they (xda) will have it working with Desire soon if not already. Do a search and you'll find more details

I have been looking into this aswell. Im following the Wii-project
closely. But I also think a BT keyboard would be great.
Just got "documents to go" and a keyboard would make writing
much smoother.
Freedom Universal 2 looks relly good, since the Freedom Pro is a bit too
large.
Apparently these sorts of bluetooth apps don't work with Sense-enabled phones.
Not sure if flashing a non-Sense rom would fix it, but then the CM Rom doesn't have working bluetooth anyway.
think there was a modaco rom that worked with wii remote. not sure about othe r bluetooth stuff
Hey guys, has anyone found a Playstation-style bluetooth gamepad that works with CyanogenMod's Bluetooth HID implementation? I've already tried playing SNESoid with my Freedom Universal bluetooth keyboard, and while it works, it's obviously not as nice as with an actual gamepad. Any suggestions?

[Q] Apps,Enabling GPS and others Q's

Hi
I know I'm well behind but recently I got my first smartphone and I can't believe how I've been without it since they were made available. I've plumped for the HTC wildfire as it fits my budget and its small size makes it very pocketable.
I've been playing around with various apps and installed "Where's my droid" so that if it gets lost/stolen I can turn it off silent and hopefully track it. However, reading something yesterday I became aware that changes to Android means that apps can no longer directly change system settings meaning that if the GPS is off, I can't track it. (Edit: yet it seems google navigation can do this?)
Is this correct and is there any other way I could implement a safeguard such as this in case the phone goes missing?
A few other queries I have:
> Can the messages widget be used as a more traditional inbox/outbox/drafts? I'm struggling to get my head around it!
> And I've been playing about with swype on another users phone but it won't work on mine due to the QVGA res, I've settled for slideit demo for now but it doesn't seem to work seamlessly, does anyone have anything to add to this?
> Lastly, my Dad (who isn't great with tech) purchased the same phone, apart from the user manual is there a "HTC for Dummies" youtube tutorials channel or anything similar I can point him at? I don't fancy adding another item that I need to maintain to the long list.
Hopefully at some point I can also work out a good way of utilising a speed camera and POI database for google navigation so I can replace the bulky tomtom unit!
Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for the same thing. I can't even find any reference to anyone working on it.
About the closest I've come to something that "might work"(haven't attempted yet) is that apparently the logitech gamepanel has an "emulator" plugin that will allow you to display it on screen, and then there are a couple of paid apps to use your phone as a second monitor, so you could move the emulated gamepanel onto the phone screen.
if you've had any better luck I'd love to hear it. I wish there were more forums and things about what to do with spare android phones.

Any way to disable ALT+TAB/WIN+TAB on Bluetooth keyboard in ICS?

I'm trying out the Touchpad as an RDP client for my work Windows machine. With a Bluetooth keyboard and iTap RDP, it works very well, but one thing that's annoying is that Android/ICS traps certain key combinations instead of sending them through to Windows, e.g., ALT+TAB (Symbol+Tab on the HP Touchpad BT keyboard) and WIN+TAB (Home+Tab on the HP keyboard). Another one that gets trapped is WIN+E which should open an Explorer window but instead tries to launch the Android email client. Does anyone know if these Android keys can be disabled, ideally just while the RDP client is running, but worst case scenario, across the board?

I tired this and could not get it to work.. If you have got it working please post.. I have a TF101 and with the local keyboard I really want a way to use the alt tab / windows key tab options.. but both go to Android local... If anyone has a way of getting around this I would love to hear it!
ALT TAB locally really is not required when you have the nice button for recent apps
go to /system/usr/keylayout/ and see which .kl needs to be changed and where. theres a few to look at but you should find one that matches your input device.

As far as I can tell, it's not a keylayout but rather a CyanogenMod-specific enhancement to make Android work more like a desktop OS when used with an external keyboard. The problem is that it acts as a system-level override for those keybindings so that they're not passed to applications such as remote desktop clients. I've considered trying AOKP to see if it does the same thing.
I'm interested in getting a Nexus 10, especially if someone releases a keyboard cover similar to the one for Surface, as a lightweight laptop replacement, especially when used to access a Windows machine via remote desktop, but I have such a heavy dependency on ALT+TAB in my day-to-day habits that it would be pretty annoying to have that key take me to another Android app instead of switching Windows apps. Not a show-stopper, but definitely an annoyance. Hopefully standard Android 4.2 doesn't do this...
I coincided installing Linux on my tf101 as I was so upset about it.. however there is not a easy way... it would be nice to see a option to disable it for in custom roms..
I don't think 4.2 will change the behavior at all.. sadly

I know this doesn't help many folks here, but the kind folks at Jump Desktop somehow figured out how to circumvent Apple's restrictions on key events in iOS and got full keyboard support going when accessing Windows and Mac machines via RDP and VNC, so that's what I'm using very happily now from my iPad 3.
I have created exactly what you need
Hey, all, I don't know if you'll see this, but I figured out where in the android code it intercepts this and fixed it with an xposed module, which you can grab here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/keyboard-utilities-t2872579/post55350032
---------- Post added at 10:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:51 PM ----------
Also, as far as win-E and related shortcuts being consumed, that's handled by an android setting called quicklaunch, which is present in the settings app, but there's no easy way to access it. To get to it, grab nova launcher or tasker or anything else that can launch app's activities directly, then find the quicklaunch activity under the settings app. This is where you register and unregister shortcuts with the windows key and the search key. Long press on the shortcut to clear it. By default, Win-E and a few others are put in for you.
Workaround
A bit old question, but i was looking for an answer today, and did not found anything that matches my needs. Not sure if it will satisfy You, but i got a little workaround. Actually you don't need to do anything with your android device, the only thing you need for this is AutoHotkey software on your windows machine + one little script running.
How it works? It remap left ctrl+tab to act like alt+tab. That way you can use ctrl+tab(or any other combination you want) and android has no problem with it.
Script content:
LControl & Tab::AltTab
Hope it helps, it worked for me.

so this might be turnoff to some but you are on xda. we need a magisk module or something that can do this for us.
if you can disable system wide keyboard shortcuts, it would be great. and by shortcuts here is what i mean (look at the attached screenshot). in my case. i have my rog phone 3 connected to a usb c hub that has usb, hdmi, etc. (please do not tell me about the rog phone 3 and how it might have this built in because i have a custom rom installed and im sure you can do this in almost any android version there as well because its a stock rom)
my case is i use shadow (cloud gaming/computing) and so i remote control into a windows machine. i would love to disable those shortcuts so that my keyboard inputs are not interrupted by androids shortcuts.
if i alt tab or press the windows button. i dont want the android shortcuts to trigger.
please let me know if you found a solution but this most likely is achieved through adb or root. lets do actual investigation.

DAB+ APK for Car Android

Hello all, i got this DAB+ apk for car android at the moment tested and used on Android RK3188 4.1.1
At the moment used with DAB+ Box that plugs in to USB to enable DAB Radio.
What i require is some ones knowledge to modify this apk in more deatil, make it better and easier to use.
First thing is this is how it looks now:
As can be seen it would be nice to add favorite list, make font on the right hand size (station list) abit smaller so it fits in to the box better.
like in this modified screenshot:
and maybe allow images of station to change when station is changed (have no idea if it can be captured over wifi and updated or just added for each station individual image once station changed, Possibly make it smaller too.
The content once extracted it does have all the button images of fave list, other BG's and other bits so just needs to be implemented by some one with more deeper knowledge.
Im new here and my knowledge is limited + time, is that something possible to do, develop and maybe useful for other to use?
Any suggestions are welcome and please do correct me and excuse me if i done something not by the book :good::laugh:
Thank you,

I would like to join the request to make the app something different!
I am really only dissatisfied with the optics, the function of the app is impeccable! I find the colorful "smoke" terrible in the background. I do not like the kitschy radio either.
The whole look a bit more discreet and I would be happy with the app.
Let's go on guys, you've been fit in such things!
Just got an Erisin MTCD unit with the DAB+ interface. The app is very basic and could need the following upgrades:
1. Favorite station list
2. Automatic mute when loosing reception - now it creates a loud noise for a couple of seconds when reception is lost
3. Output station name to multifunction display over Canbus
4. Change station with steering wheel buttons
5. Service following
6. Traffic announcements
I am a software developer but not on Android, if anyone could point me in the right direction I might have a look at this myself
I'm interested in this too
Hi all,
I think I'm correct in stating that this is the app that comes with the Xtrons range of head units?
If so, I've just bought an Xtrons head unit with the DAB adaptor - when using this app, and then switching to something else (I.E. satnav) the audio becomes stuttery. Have any of you also had the same issue? If so - perhaps this could be looked in to as well?
Thanks in advance
The same problem is with the new Joying devices and this app. Could be normal.

Thanks for the quick response!
Whilst that may be the case, surely this can't be "acceptable" behaviour? I view this as quite a major bug with the app, if it can't handle running in the background smoothly then it is all but useless. If I'm in the car then chances are I want to use the satnav app as well!
Has anyone had any better luck with another app if this one is so bad?

Finally found a fix! Download the version posted in this forum:
http://www.autopumpkin.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1639
Extremely frustrating problem that should be solved. It's from a different manufacturer, the DAB+ app but it works
It fixes the changing app stutters the sound bug.
Enjoy!

May work on your radio... but I´m frustrated too with the DAB+ apk.
I decompiled the app and found a lot of different buttons, incl. a favorites button... but no menu.
Background changes are easy, but that´s all I am able to do.
The app from autopumpkin can not be installed on my device.
I would spend some bucks to someone who would be able to get the app working in background.... and may be develop a settings menu to switch background.

found another update at autopumpkin:
http://www.autopumpkin.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1715&p=7719&hilit=DAB#p7547
This update works with another app in foreground without stuttering.
Additional: There is a menu to switch the PTY. In this case the station list shows only the stations regarding to the PTY.

What car radio stereo do you have? just checking, have you enabled unknown sources to install it.
It's an update for the existing DAB+ application

DAB MUX auto switch
Hello colleagues, I have for several months in my car radio ES3060P with android 5.1.1 to him on the USB port is connected tuner DAB + Erisin ES354 and the original DAB Player 1.0. Unfortunately, I noticed that the version of android 5, 6 or recently released 7 is always the same DAB Player.
Due to the fact that I own my DAB-MUX I test different DAB receivers and car antenna systems in the field.
Unfortunately, the DABPlayer 1.0 software has two serious disadvantages that effectively discourage the sale to anyone of the multimedia station adapted to receive digital radio in Poland. Firstly, the receiver lacks the function AF (alternative frequency) when listening to a radio station if a stronger transmitter appears, the receiver switches itself. It is enough for the software to scan the DAB bandwidth with a weak signal and jump to the same station with a stronger mux. In analogue UKF-FM, each program has its own PI code, whereas in DAB each program is always assigned the same SId number. The second disadvantage if after scanning the tuner will find several DAB-MUX and the same programs will show them all grouped side by side - the error should show only the strongest radio station, because the AF function will choose the strongest multiplex itself.

Just got mine, disappointed there's on option to save favourite channels???
Thought this may be better than the fm radio app but looks just as bad!
