[Q] Which camera app should I use in OCed ROM? - Samsung Galaxy Fit GT 5670

I am using CM 7.2 by asad007 in my galaxy fit. Camera app works without a glitch if I don't Overclock my fit. But once I OC it, camera starts force closing.
No matter what governer or I/O scheduler I use, Camera still FC's. But if I reduce my clock speed to the usual one (max:600 Mhz) camera works fine. And I don't want to switch between clock speeds when I have to use camera.
This topic has been discussed many time in different threads but most of the time solution that appeared was to change the scheduler and governer. Well,It's not working for me..
So if any one has found another alternative please help. By the way, I like my fit OCed above 600Mz

Maybe your device is getting heated up due to rougue apps
I too have OC'ed up to 801 and MIUI camera app works fine for me
FC's depends which Rom are you using On 7.2 i haven't noticed FC's

Could you please tell me your governer, i/o scheduler, max and min setting.
And about the rogue apps, am i supposed to kill any background apps before running camera?
Thanks...

Thank you
Thank you guys..
I reflashed my ROM with cm7.2 rc3 and haven't installed much apps.. Now camera works fine.

[Q] Random Reboot with +1.5Ghz OC Kernels

Ok, sorry if this seems like a stupid question but... I have flashed/tested all of the Tiamat Kernels onto my xoom and it seems that I can only run the 1.4 Ghz Kernel with no random reboots. So I thought that if i download the higher 1.5Ghz or the 1.6Ghz and just under-clock it to 1.4Ghz that should stop it from doing random reboots, but sadly it doesnt and I still get random reboots even with Setcpu Under-clocking it to 1.4Ghz. Now is this typical or am I missing or misunderstanding something? Is there a reason why I cant use the higher Kernels and Under-clock them to 1.4Ghz and get no random reboots? I am only asking because I flashed the Riptide and under-clocked it to 1.4Ghz and it really made my xoom feel much faster and nicer in my hands and would love to keep using the Riptide Kernel.
Thanks in advance,
-Dez
I have the same issues and have been wondering the same thing.
I have similar , with 1.6 with ums
only flashed to get ums , and had a few crash/reboots for the first time since i bought my xoom about a month ago.
what i could do with is a stock speed kernal with all the bells on !

I too have noticed this, after reading your post I tried keeping the Kernels but with no OC and left it at 1.0Ghz and it still has random reboots. So is there something in the Higher Kernels that are causing it to be unstable regardless of what Ghz you clock it to?
watch setcpu at times. It doesn't matter what you set the clock at in setcpu it will still go to the max clock the kernel allows. I am not sure if it is a bug with setcpu or if it is just the way the kernel works. If you reboot your Xoom when setcpu is at 1ghz, then go and play with the xoom after reboot for awhile. Go back into setcpu and look under the info tab. You will see that the cpu has indeed been running the higher clocks then 1ghz at times. It doesn't run those higher clocks much but it does. Which is most likely why you are getting lockups or reboots. My Xoom seems to love the 1.5ghz kernel but hates the 1.6ghz one.
Funny I was on the same boat. Started out with 1.6...reboots. went to 1.4 no problems. Tried riptide. Got app force closes. Now on 1.5...stable once again. The thing is im not even using OC on any of them

Hammerhead ROM with OCGPU - Stable at 1.6 GHZ

Morning all,
I am running the Hammerhead ROM with the OC GPU kernel. I have been able to run at 1.6 GHZ with no issues. When I push it to 1.7 GHZ I get alot of browser closes, hangs, and reboots.
Has anyone been able to run reliably at 1.7 GHZ with the OC GPU kernel, and if so are you doing anything special with voltages to get this to run reliably?
Thanks,
Steve

Each device and each Tegra chip are slightly different..some will run that fast without any problem, some can do it in bursts, while others will crash before you close SetCPU. It often has very little to do with settings.
I had the same issue as you. At 1.6, it has never rebooted, but at 1.7 it very consistently reboots or forces a close.

I am going to fool around with voltages and see if I can get 1.7 Ghz to stabilize.
same here.. i had no reboots but some force closes when i really push the device with 1.7 ghz ( tiamat kernel&3.2) ... if depends on the load of the cpu i guess.. when i run quadrant test continuously it works without a problem even a non-stop half hour.. but when i open 15+ pages in theb browser it freezes and sometimes forse closes.. i assume the voltage management is not stable or enough for 1.7 ghz .. when its 1.6 its perfect.. ( to be honets none of this gpu and cpu overclocks are really necessary and effecting my everyday usage, its already a very fast and good device)

Sorry man. It's been said before about the tegra and other procs, it's all luck of the draw. I am one of the lucky ones who can get stable at 1.7ghz but it won't work for everyone. I wish there was an easy fix that would make this work for you.

[Q] Which is the best firmware for S5670

Dear Friends,
For those who love visiting the Development section of this forum, you would notice that there are many firmwares available. Also these firmwares have corresponding Custom Roms made by our great developers.
Therefore i would like to ask, which is the most fast, stable and battery effecient firmware for our phone ...
In other words , which firmware, truely Fits the Fit ????

Well,,,,i feel that the de-odexed KPL (2.3.4) firmware with FITDroidv2.0 custom Rom ......both of them are by VISHWANATH PATIL!...i am using it and its supercool, fast, energy efficient and super stable!
if you want official firmware go for Gingerbread DDKQ5
and
if you want custom firmware go for Fitdroid it is very fast than official firmware. and it supports darktremor app2sd which completly moves all apps to SD
and saves a lot of internal memory space;-)
Thanks Vaibhav,
Have seen the post of the entire rom containing darktremor app2sd bundled with the Custom Rom. Could u pls tell me if we move the apps that are actually meant to be on the phone memory, will it affect their working or performance??
KK
I flashed the deodexed XXKPL firmware, FitDroid, Blue Steel theme in the same order.............I must say it is working perfectly and just one bug I feel is that the music player force closes when opened

If you want to save some battery life
try using JuicedDefender it saves a little bit of battery
or use SETCPU and select profile which is best for you
Pratyush creed's rom v1.0
I tested all most all the roms and i found creed's rom v 1.0 is the best for me.
Ram utilization is very low when phone is idle and so the battery performance is better.
Speed is much better than other roms

No there not many bugs in cyanogenmod 7.1.0
the only bugs that i hate its
1.FM does not work even if e use spirit fm app
2.USB tethering does not works
But it can be fixed using weird tether app
And the 801 mhz kernel its little unstable
I faced random reboot issues
So I'm using 763 mhz kernel its stable
And it don't have any issues

well, what if i want to use FM? as i have a favorite radio show in the morning, is there an alternative or fix for this?
How about the battery consumption if i have OC? Will OC have any effects on the processor of Fit?
sorry for having too many questions...
According to my test spirit fm radio doesnot work so tgere is no alternative of it till now
Secondly battery consumption depend on how much do you overclock your processor for eg 700mhz will consume less battery then 800 mhz overclck produces more heat and strain on processor so it can damage your processor over overclock your procesor than stable overclocking

hmm....dont have an alternative for fm...but as far as oc is concerned i too want it to be ported to FitDroid..and dont worry its in progress!...and we'll get it soon....battery backup will definitely be an issue ...i use overclock only while playing games..and i get a nice battery backup!
galaxy fit + CM7.1 (2.3.7) + 801Mhz
I definitely know that there will be an issue with battery consumption which is quite acceptable... but with regards the OC itself, let me compare it to a regular desktop PC...
Say i did overclock my processor, there are definitely a possibility to fry the board or make it overheat, can the same thing happen here?

No i don't see any heating issues,
After OC if you properly configure setcpu
according to your use then battery life is not a big issue
And try internet radio apps such as spotify

Its upon you if you want performance than set it to Max clock speed and select performance governer....
Or if battery life than select conservative governer
And try setting profiles to save battery

razodroid v2.3
razodroid v2.3 is the best which also has a oc kernel file which supports upto 801mhz and its very stable....+it has darktremour app2sd app so not problems of low internal memory...and it comes with a cyan coloured appearance which is also cool...the battery stays alive upto 2 days for normal use...the only dwarback is that when we change the dpi of the phone...the music app FCs...but dats ok.....
just wait for razodroid v4.0
RazoDroid 4.0 is the best (ADRENALINE SCRIPT)
Highly recommended, speedy, battery efficient, and a very good UI

[Q] Kernel? crashing phone when OC

Ok, I'm running infusion A2, not OC'd, UV'd 100 across the board just fine.
My problem starts fast when I OC to 1600, it rans ok there, for the few minutes I tested it at stock voltages. The problem is when I change ANY CPU step to UV it just crashes and reboots my phone instantly. Tried it 3 times. It comes back on fine, even if I left set as boot checked (accidentally), but the settings were not saved. Haven't tried B2 yet to see it is repeatable on 1400, and don't really want to repeat it at all.
Any ideas why this is happening? On Doctorz ROM using SetCPU to OC/UV.
Thanks y'all
Try voltage control instead (free in the market) but honestly, not all Infuses can handle 1.6 ghz. In your case, you are most likely right on the line of crashing at 1.6, when you change the voltages, you cross that line.
Its well know messing with the native clock speed can AT some phones and some times cause low stability and reboots also force closes etc. I suggest you to try lower OC speeds like 1.4 Ghz ive been running my Infuse on 1.4 forever without one single problem.
Yeah, was gonna go to B2 and try 1.4, but figured I would get some suggestions first.
Had VC at first, but didn't try OC, just UV, gonna try that tomorrow.
jonrobertd - did you flash a certain kernal to OC your Infuse? Everything I've read says either the Infuse can't be OCed. I even tried using SetCPU but it kept giving me errors when I'd run it, telling me something like "no profiles loaded" or something like that.

koriotto - how are you overclocking your Infuse? What OS are you using (Froyo, GB, etc.)?
You have to have a kernel that supports overclocking....and yes the infuse can be overclocked...I'm running it at 1.6 myself on my rom....the infusion gb kernel can be overclocked....entropy's daily driver can't...the community kernel is Froyo....if your running gingerbread rom and flash the community kernel your phone will bootloop.....read...

[kernel][TW][ML1 v4.0, 1/11/14] Leankernel: Minimalistic Kernel by Imoseyon

Imoseyon gave me permission to link his kernel here on XDA. Please thank Imo on here or RootzWiki, and please donate to him if u can.
ICS and JB kernels are available.
v 4.0 is the newest version for TW JB 4.3 ML1 only.
Older versions are available (4.1.2)
Experimental builds are also posted on RW. I personally dont want to link them here since I cannot help if something goes wrong. So keep an eye on the RW thread if you can help in testing.

does not work with Taste of Beans 3.5k at all..

removed boot animation
reboots
battery gets SUPER HOT!
had to do a batt pull, boot into recovery, and go from there.
Ran fine when it first booted...benmark scores were very high...running very smooth...
Then after a reboot things got kinda wonky...
Seemed to be running rather hot...and I seemed to lose the ability to control clock speeds with system tuner...
I could sit in the app and watch the max/min speed change without any input from me...and setting it to 1512/384 manually would only last a matter of seconds...
...after the first reboot...i would set clock speeds...do something like run a quadrant test...go look at clock speeds and max would be at 1900 even though i set it at 1512...if i ran antutu at the end of the test it would come back as 1134mhz inn the system info even though I set it to 1512...
Based on my observations...it seems like the moment you put the CPU under any sort of stress...the clock speeds wig out and you lose the ability to control them...
Edit: I can repeat it every time I run a benchmark...quadrant, antutu, smart bench, whatever...the kernel completely loses the ability to control clock speeds..I noticed a similar problem with the Ziggy kernel that synergy uses...
The only non stock kernel that has worked right is 747...and in its ktweaker app there is a setting to "lock" clock speeds so that other apps can't change them...it specifically says "like benchmark apps." It may be something to look into...
Its a shame because on the initial boot up of this kernel my phone had never felt as smooth or performed as well...

This is due to thermald and is normal behavior. I include a tweaked thermald in my ICS kernel but I don't really like the way i implemented it. I'm going to think of a different way to handle this for my JB kernel.

So it would be "stress" related sorta...but more heat related specifically?...its a bummer because my phone does not like 1900mhz at all...and really starts to heat up/lag at that clock speed...
So if the kernel is going to "reset" all the time I'm gonna have to stick with 747 because its the only one (except stock vzw jb) that sticks no matter what I throw at it
Edit: I will however say...the kernel is completely compatible with Synergy 118...and like I said before...when it initially booted the phone was screaming...and performing better than ever...
So keep up the good work and I'll keep my eye on things...
I didn't run your kernel on ICS...wishing I had tried it out now lol

Sorry to hear Met. My phone has never run so well. I'm not experiencing any heat ups or problems set at 1700mzh. When I I run Vellamo it lists the kernel max at 1900mhz but when I check setCPU its locked at 1700mzh. I ran LK on ICS and it was simply amazing. It was the only thing I missed moving to JB. Plz remember that this kernel is just days old and it will continue to get better with updates from Imo. Keep the reports coming guys, it's the best thing to do to help.
What I've noticed is that neither this kernel or ktoonsez like Android tuner or system tuner. They make the kernel go haywire if using either one. I don't know why. That will b why ur min max doesn't match in k tweaker when u open after reboot. I use set CPU for imoseyons kernel and it works great on EVERY tw new base rom and so far has been the best I've tried and i test extensively. Lol.

I would not use KTweaker with this kernel. I remember reading some where its specific for KT kernel. I have had issues using Android Tuner and system tuner on previoulsy used Rom/Kernels as well. I use SetCPU and it works great, I know its a paid app but its so worth it especially if you plan on using custom kernels. Theres a free setCPU version floating around but that app isnt supported anymore.
V.3 locks my cpu to 1900mhz...so i reverted back to v.2 and all is well. 11180 antutu bench mark @ 1520mhz, 10080 @1900mhz
For the ppl not needing to OC try v.2, u might have better results.
