Am I correct in assuming that this will make Cyanogen and others job in implementing I.C.S. with 3d for the O3D much easier? I'm a noob?
I hope this means that a proper Bluetooth stack (GB vanilla/Cyanogenmod) can be integrated. Missing HID profiles is ridiculous - how lazy can LG be? N64oid in glasses free 3D with my iControlpad would be portable gaming bliss....

He probably means, now that he has access to the source files, he can strip out all LG bloat ware safely and give a more cleaner, vanilla GB rom, plus of course his usual mods and tweaks
Waiting for him to get his phone back so that he can update the kernel and test some new tweaks.
It means that LG is officially making available their source code on their firmware releases. At the moment that's one Froyo and one Gingerbread source code for the O3D. The GB one being LGP920v21a.
Ah, great, time for a GB kernel

+1, Love to see some of the marvellous nexus kernels ported to desire. And fully ported Enomther and Cyanogen rom.
Yeah full Cyanogen would be great too.
Can somebody provide a /proc/config.gz from a stock Desire?
Also, anybody want to try OC-UV on the Desire?

This is not from the stock desire rom. But all roms up to now use the default kernel, so here you go, I had to recompress it for upload purposes.

Don't worry about it bro, its all good... as of now we only have a hacked kernel for GB and it is just pieced together, so an official kernel will lead to GB running better on our phones and less glitches and such
TMO actually just initiated an internal beta of gingerbread for the mt4g today.

We have all been waiting very patiently, but we finally have it, AHEAD of schedule. The source code for the LG 2.3.3 OTA update is now available. You can either download it straight from LG's open source site or via the mirror I created. Enjoy!
LG's Open Source Site: Link
Download Link
Let the custom kernels\builds begin........May the source be with you!
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but does this source have any value to the 2.3.4 and 2.3.5 roms? For the longest time I was using X boarders OTA Tweak, but recently switched to EB 1.08 (2.3.5) and love it .
Will this code bring the 2.3.3 roms to a whole new level where I might want to go back. Will this allow Whitehawkx and Doniqcc to fix a few of there issues in theit 2.3.3 roms?
Just wondering what this means? Maybe it just means an OC / UV Kernel which would be great too, especially if Faux can get voodoo working on 2.3.3.

That'd be nice, but most likely not. They aren't waiting for the kernel source for a2dp on .3.4 and .3.5, they're waiting on the source code from nvidia. As nice as it'd be, I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.
Still, this is very good news either way.
I do agree that it is good news. I was really just curious.

Probably not, this will just hel for custom kernels for 2.3.3. Our issue with 2.3.4 adn 2.3.5 has to do with missing source\technical specs from Nvidia, which we may never get. Its not that AOSP (2.3.4, 2.3.5, Cm7) isnt compatible for the G2x, it just doesnt have the necessary drivers and such. The talented CM7 team (mainly CM-Arcee) has done a fantastic job of writing drivers for battery and other functions from scratch, because this source is made for the LG build which is NOT AOSP, despite looking like it. Hope that clears up the source issue and eliminates the "will this fix X,Y, or Z in 2.3.5, CM7, etc"....probably not.
As lge had released source code for 2.3.3 , will this help to solve rooting issue with 2.3.3 ota / lg update utility.??

Oh yea man, weapon, fauxs kernel, and voodoo, doesn't get any sweeter
It is just a sneek peek of upcoming ICS. Not intended for daily use.
What is currently working:
Phone
Sound
Sensors
Lights
Wifi
Bluetooth
USB mass storage
HW keyboard (ALT lock too)
Keyboard backlight
HW/SW keyboard toggling (thx Hashcode!)
OpenGL (3D)
Multitouch (more points + multitouch fixed)
Keyboard layout switching
Fixed PIN unlock (thx Nadlabak!)
Camera support (thx Rondoval!)
What is not working:
Video recording
Video HW decoding
Probably still a lot of minor issues
Other known issues:
ADB debugging shouldn't be disabled

when i was testing the defy 4.0 port. i have the same issue on usb connection. and i found that when usb connect, nothing were written to /sys/devices/platform/usb_mass_storage/lun0/file.
normally, /dev/block/vold/179:0 should be written to there.
but more instersting is that after i use dual sd mount widget. even i uninstall it(not reboot), my usb can work normally. but after reboot, it buggy again.

european kernel seems to have some check on system version or bl version. as some guys said in other thread. flashing only euro kerenl/devtree will not boot at all. so maybe ch kernel is another possible choice.

Fortunately, I like the new blur, though the ram usage is much higher than CM7...

Thanks for your great work
Looks amazing tezet! when i got my MS2 at the start of the year i never would have thought some of the stuff that has been done with CM on the MS2 could have been done.

It has nothing to do with Milestone 2. It's the kernel from one of Defy's GB roms.
I've managed to get keyboard working apart from 'B', which really puzzles me. Interestingly ALT lock is now working This is due to new, very flexible keyboard handling introduced in honeycomb.
There seems to be bug in keyboard lid detection, the logic was inverted.
Thank you for your awsome work and looking forward to other builds.

I also thought of that. I started playing with CH GB kernel (actually I just boot up out of it). For those stuck with UK GB we can just prepare builds based on this kernel (at least I think so .

As seen in several threads here @XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1530411), it seems that there are newer libraries for 3D processing, to be used with the Adreno GPU, that is the ChaCha uses.
Well, I downloaded them and tested.
The benchmark app I use shows a performance improvement, but I found that modifying the build.prop file as requested, makes things worse, actually.

I wonder, have you tried using this tweak in collaboration with the one you posted about improving responsiveness? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32158389#post32158389)
If the benchmark is showing that the performance is increased, perhaps what's slowing it down is the cpu not being compatible with the changes. turning off cpu rendering may solve the issue and actually show performance increase like the benchmark shows.
for some reason, when I flash this, my device won't boot. naturally I can get into CWM and flash a copy of the old files again, so its fine, but I'm wondering what I might be doing wrong. This happens with and without the edits to build.prop. for some reason my phone just doesn't seem to like the updated libraries.

The "sorry for being a noob" excuse does not work with me. You could've at least search for the name of the Android version you are using. I have said read the thread because there a specific quote that says the following: "This is very specific, you should mention that this only works on Gingerbread."

Do you have your answer now?
Debug.performance.tuning=1
Pm.dexopt tweaks
Ro.kernel.qemu=1 (laggy UI , not every phone affect by this)
That cause the performance drop !
I still trying to find more what causing the lag ! :/
