Should i wait for the prime?
I don't own any tablet yet... i have to said that ipad really impressive... or might it because new ipad without other appa yet... but i found it really responsive than android tablet... anyway it's not the main issue .... i did fall for android os...
Considering battery life... i spend my time more than 10 hours out there... and i don't really like to bring my charger with me...
For extra 2 hours from the prime... is it really worth it? Not from the core and sexier form... i own an android phone lg o3d... i don't know if it is hardware related or the way i used it... it seems drain the battery a lot...
I want to used the tablet for doing homeworks, trading simulation, web programming, reading, managed vps or hosting, browsing n chatting...
Fews questions...
Can i charge only the dock without docking the tablet?
Have someone try to change the battery cell with bigger mAh on dock?
Can someone share their usage statistic... i mean how long can your transformer standby... how oft are you using it...
Thanks
I would do some more homework...
But yes you can charge the dock and tablet separately.

Its up to u if u wanna wait and pay a few extra hundreds of dollars for the prime.. my battery last me me all day.. with heavy usages. . I get around 10-12 hrs with it... i still carry around my charger just in case.. check out some videos on youtube to see if u really want it..

I don't really trust the Prime for battery yet and will probably ask a co-worker about it (when he gets his Prime). It's thiner, it has more powerful, and the test is different than the TF101.
ASUS lists the battery life for the TF101 as playing some sort of test 720p video at 60 nits. The Prime is same while running in power saving mode. That power saving mode is interesting but I don't think it will be that much better than existing solutions.

Thanks for the input... it is just too many rumour or issue about prime at the moment... maybe wait a little time until the prime really in the markt... what make me interrested from the first version is the hardmod from 'goodintentions'...
The Prime is prettier, but the original already does what I want it to do. The Prime doesn't do it much better, so I don't really think you need to get the Prime.. although, you might wanna wait for a Christmas/Prime Release sales drop on the price of the original. (BTW, I was hella confused when you said "ori", anyone else SG1 fans?)
go with the Ori, they have sick powers.
Hallowed are the Ori
Prime too many issue and they just launch the new one... tf101 in moment... it's almost february but i don't see any prime yet in hamburg germany.... anyway... can someone tell me, if i possible make a gsm call using tf101g which have a 3G or gsm connections... i want make sure... cause until today i just got to see the wifi not the 3G version yet....

So I have been inspecting their forums since they went on sale in the UK today via Phones4u.
They are having tons of trouble rooting and they can't play Tegra 2 games.
Quadrant scores are around 3000.
Maybe unlocked bootloaders will come back, but this is the exact reason I bought the G2X. I imagine a powerful, open device will get a lot of developer support.
You have a source for the "locked bootloader" info?
The battery life seems to destroy the G2x battery life, from initial reviews that I have seen.
Also the Samoled+ display looks amazing and blacks are truly black hehe.
Here's a link to a nice review of the phone
http://www.jrin.net/2011_04_24/samsung-galaxy-s-2-in-depth-review
All in all it seems to be a solid phone, but I still love my G2x
Edit: I love it because of the developer support it will have, the screen isn't that bad I really love the colors and the brightness, and tegra 2 of course, there's plenty of +'s for the G2x as there is for the GS2
so when does this hit the US?
my g2x is troubling with the battery, bleed, reboot issue

Lol the point of this thread?
The phone hasn't even been officially out for a day
Of couse it wont play tegra games it needs a tegra gpu for that.
And quadrant is total BSnot to mention sgs2 is clocked at 1.2ghz were gx2 is only 1ghz
Sgs2 is better than g2x in hardware not to mention plays pretty much every video format no prob

I don't think they can play tegra2 games because the euro one comes with a exynos processor or some reason to that affect. But whatever, thats just one downfall of that beast of a phone. Lets hope Sammy has fixed the GPS and lag issues right outta the gate. Secondly, they just released the phone so I assume its going to take a little time to get the phone rooted. I was about to go and buy the G2x but it wasn't that impressive when i was at the store so now I'm impatiently waiting for the Sensation and GS2.
Hopefully by the time the GS2 releases, the G2x will have all its bugs fixed and I can compare all 3 at once to see which one I like the best.
I guess Mali in Exynos is another new platform for developers to learn to make games for.
I can't imagine the gs2 havning better battery life. It has the same size as the original galaxy s. With dual core and a bigger screen I'm sure it sucks the battery down. Not to mention what a battery hog amoleds are....I get great life on my gx2. Right about 20 hrs with normal use

Please tell that to all the people who are losing 10%+ every hour while the phone is idling...
My G2 with its 1300mAh gave me much much better battery life than my G2x currently does, but I just know that this is software related and hopefully (fingers crossed) CM7 will fix this.
Its my only gripe right now with the phone, that and the bleeding, but I plan to change my phone out at a later date for a new one, $500 outright for the phone I expect it to act like one.
I'm about to go in for exchange #1
These issues for 550 after tax is ridiculous imo
What ever happened to QA, on expensive electronics
How do I remove CWM by the way???

I'm pretty sure the Galaxy S2 already has been rooted and the bootloader comes unlocked. And for tegra games, it has a mali gpu, not a ULP so of course it will not play them.
Sounds like someone is jealous of the SGS2 specs.

Well the CM team already said the battery driver was haywire. My chinese android tablet was like that, it would say it was at 15% within minutes, but would run for like 4-5hours.
CM7 is almost among us and hopefully you guys will get a more accurate reading. My battery life is amazing. Heavy use and I get a 20% warning around midnight (8am-midnight). This is also under the assumption that you know the phone is new and I can't put it down. This is with a PUSH exchange, Gmail, Facebook/Twitter LP widgets, gaming, and normal phone use.
Of everything, the battery is the last thing I can complain about.
Comparing the phones here are things I don't like:
No HDMI port (separate attachment)
Lack of a dedicated Search button (I use this religiously)
No Tegra 2 which I suspect will be really big when it comes to gaming.
Those are just a few things I notice hardware wise. Software wise I don't know.
The locked bootloader is a drag. Rooting shouldn't be a problem as we've had rooting capabilities on the N1. I'm sure just like with our G2x phones, it should use the same exploits.

Even if the battery driver is wonky, it still is lasting only 9 hours for me, in real world time. It's fully charged because I leave it charging all night when I go to bed. So from full charge, no matter what the reading says, to dying and shutting down after 9 or 10 hours is real.
Looks like the SGSII people are happy so far. Dunno what you're LOLing at.
I'm just happy P990/999 is cheaper =)
I'm not sure what is being done differently. Have you tested it on a bare bones stock config (right out of format and setup)?
The is one thing that I think is so weird how there are lots of varying problems across the board. Like some people have greyed out options while others have bad battery life.
Here are my About Phone info. Maybe we have varying software loads:

Your battery drain is easily fixable. Get "wheres my droid power" from the market (It's Free) and see what is eating it. I've had 2 issues. One was yahoo mail for some ungodly reason it was eating my battery like mad. I FC'd it and its been fine since. The other was Wifi calling. Even though it was disabled it was eating 5x the battery of any other app, ALL THE TIME. I froze it out (luckily I don't use it often) and I have had 0 problems since. I am nearing 15 hours today w/ 3 full hours of display on games/surfing/what have you plus about 30 min of phone use and a couple of five minute or so speakerphone calls.

My battery is fine. Guess I got a better one than you. I take my G2X off the charger at 5am and it doesn't need to go back on the charger until 7pm with moderate use. With heavy use it still lasts until I get home from work at 3pm. Much better than my Vibrant did.
Hi,
I want to buy a tablet, a ACER ICONIA TAB A500 or ASUS EEEPAD TRANSFORMER, but i want to know your return about the battery life of TRANSFORMER ?
How many time do you have with your TRANSFORMER ?
Do you know a good webshop ?
thank you and sorry for my english
my transfomer stay on for about 9-12 hours with a charge plus 6-9 hours of the dock.it may depend on what rom and configuration you use and of course, the kind of use do you do....i have max brightness, max sound and bluetooth on for 1\3 of the time for my BT mouse(plus wifi etc..)
if you plan to buy an iconia,i can certainly say that it doesn't so many hours...and it hasn't the dock and double battery....for the rest OS and cpu\gpu are the same...only screen change, the TF has a good lightened display with ips and great angle view (it could drain a little more than iconia's display..but personally i prefer a good screen also if drain a bit more!in a tablet the screen is to much important!)
I created a poll fir this to ciklect such info, go read it.

i get really good battery life. i also have the dock if your planning on getting that. the tablet itself lasts about 2 days and with the dock i can easily hit 3-4 days with one charge.
im running the latest revolver rom and i use the tablet all day cause of school so it lasts me a little more than half of my week with the dock.
i do have the tablet undervolted.
i have it undervolted about 200mv when the screen is off and about 90mv when its awake and in use.
hope that helps you and im not sure what you mean by webshop but i think you mean appstore
i have the android marketplace and its fine, just as many apps as the ios marketplace and i dont have a problem finding what i need.
if you meant where to buy it, i know bestbuy and gamestop are selling it discounted at $300 right now if your in us.
Thank you for your answers, another can say to me your battery life ?
PS: by webshop i undestand a shop for buy the transformer.
thank's
BestBuy.com has them for $299 USD and Ebay.com still has lots for $350 USD sometimes lower if u lurk.
Ok i bought this gt n8013 with 4.1.1 and i love it all except for one very horrible thing. It charges so slow its driving me insane. I am sorry if there might be a post about this already but i searched and didnt see any. Is there a way to make it charge faster like buying a faster output charger or something? A setting? I mean wow i could grow old before this thing charges.
How slow is slow? This thing has a pretty big battery so it's going to take a while. From 20% about 5 hours is about normal.
The speed at which it will charge is governed by the device, not the charger, assuming you're using a powerful enough charger. IOW it will take about 2 amps. Even if you try a 5 amp charger, it will still only take 2 amps.
This of course is all assuming that you're using the charger and cable that came with it. That's very important.
Yea im using stock charger. It took around 7 hours to charge and compared to asus that is super slow. Asus tf300 charged in an hour and a half while browsing the web on it. Not that im an asus fanboy cause im not. They really screwed the pooch on that device with the nand and the ram but they got the charging right. Turn it off and its even faster. Now i understand slow charging keeps battery life longer but i honestly would rather pay for a new battery in a year than keep one tetheted to a cord for 2 years.
Is that with or without the dock?

No dock though if it makes it charge faster ill buy one lol. Or whatever would do the trick. I actually use this pretty well all day long about 5 to 6 days a week very very heavy. I use it for everthing. I have a few dell xt3, a dell xps i7 with 3gb gpu, 2 dell desktops and a host of other laptops ect, but the new tablets have moved into a zone that is powerful enough for me to bother with now. They, with the usb adapter and external drives ect have changed the way i do business. At any rate i in general use a tablet about 9-15 hours a day so charging as you can imagine is important. I would like very much to make this my go to device even if i have to figure out how to purchace a second battery and configure some sort of charging dock or external battery or in the best case scenario make it charge fast fast fast lol.
I was actually asking if you had the dock for the TF300.

Yea i had the dock with tf300. It actually took a few hours to charge it seperate. Took longer than the tablet itself, go figure.
i did a search on google and got a bunch of people asking the same thing and some members on here went on a rant about something different, did i search on this forum and still no dice, so according to the intro video im a dumbass and should ask the android gods for help.
i bought a tf201 dock for my infinity, other threads say its the same shizz so i bought one and have been using it for over a week. at first i noticed that the battery would drain completely over night, i went into the settings and ticked the mobile dock saver on and off as others pointed out. im still having issues where i will watch maybe a movie off the sd card, browse online for an hour or two, and when i get home the dock is drained but the tablet is at half charge. i have used the tablet alone and it holds its charge all day, so is there any other tips or tricks i can use to find my culprit? also im used to iOS so my android-fu isnt so strong. if anything im considering exchanging it at bestbuy for a tf700 dock which ive heard is the same thang.
I just bought what was supposed to be the TF700 mobile dock from bestbuy but I think I got the TF201 one. Anyway, I've had it for 2 days now, first night it got totally drained but i suspected that it was because I forgot to turn off the wifi during sleep thing but now today, I connected it again and it has been drained from 100% to 15% in 3 hours!?
Worth to know though is that m tablet has been charted from ˜15% to 50% for this, but even so, charging m tablet for 35%, should that really suck that much battery power? That would mean that I used 50% of total battery in 3 hours, is that even possible?

It should add 4 to 5 hours to your battery life I think.

yeah the docks are identical according to these guys
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810592&highlight=keyboard+battery+life
ive also been reading that theres an actual tf700 dock that does have the battery shifted but i have seen no proof. anyways i guess il just go exchange my dock at bestbuy.
oh and if someone can tell me which app i can use to have my tablet+keyboard stay charged while its closed that would be great, cause if i close the lid and wait for an hour the tablet goes down about 7% and the keyboard switches on to charge it, so its constantly using juice to do something but what? i dont know....
I suggest you read all the other various Battery-related threads as opposed to making yet another one. I have made enough suggestions regarding this in those.
For starts, these:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1805636
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078512
Also, the dock starts charging your tablet when the tablet gets below 70%. There is no way around this.
The TF700 has a smaller battery with less charge. Again, there is a thread about this. Several, actually.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920675
My tablet+TF201 dock has been on without charging from the electricity net for literally 3 weeks, and my tablet is at 85%, and my dock at 71%. It's not the tab itself, it's something you're doing or not doing.

Get zenphone 2. Its all the way better than zen5.
I'm from brazil... Still waiting zenfone 5 lol
Battery of Zenfone 5 doesn't last for long. My cousin is having this phone and he is always looking for power plug to charge it. if you gonna use this phone for playing heavy games or doing multitasking using internet for long hours, the battery is gonna drain really fast as compared to other phones.
