Hi To All Readers, **** HELP PLEASE ****
I have a Samsung Galaxy W I8150, I downloaded the latest Kies software on my pc, OS. Windows 7 + connected my device + got an option to upgrade to latest version.
I clicked upgrade, followed all the on-screen instructions, by the looks of this matter, it took my old software out, but could not install the New Update on my phone, I even tried the Error connection in troubleshooting menu in Kies, still no joy.
Showing up as device not recognised, I tried this procedure many times, but still same problem.
So I had to unplug my device, but now my device does not boot up, when I switch it on, starts of with a welcome screen: Samsung Galaxy W wonder I8150\ + then a small white box with an yellow arrow pointing towards a green android appears in the middle of the screen.
That is all I keep on getting when I switch my device on, every time.
If I try to plug the charger it stays same except at first a battery image appears in the middle of the screen.
All help appreciated, Thanks

Crap!!! I hope someone can help me. I was trying to upgrade my son's tablet using odin and a stock 4.04 rom from here :Samsung P5100 / P5110 / P5113 Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Complete Stock Firmware. The first one for the P5113.
Anyway, everything seemed to be going okay following the directions and then a failed came up in the first box in odin was red. I repeated it and it appeared to be stuck. The tablet was in download mode and the blue line had only progressed about a quarter inch. I heard the usb disconnect and reconnect sound and I tried to initiate it through odin again but the tablet wasn't responding. I stupidly on plugged the tablet and tried to power it down. Now I can't do anything. Can't get into recovery or download mode. The tablet is stuck on the screen and has this message with a picture of a tablet then a yellow triangle and a computer. Here is the message: Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. Kies won't recognize the tablet and when I click on emergency firmare recovery it just asks for PC code. I am stumped. I am not familiar with Samsung at all. Also, the message on the screen won't disappear. If I hold down power it won't turn off, the screen will go black and then the message will come right back so I'm afraid the battery will be dead soon and then I will be totally out of luck.
The tablet is a wifi only P5113 Tab 2 10.1.

Not your device but its should be similar. Hope it works for you.
No luck so far, is there no way to get past this screen?
Not that I know of to be honest, You need to get into download/recovery .... Hopefully someone else more knowledgeable will come up with something !
How old is the tab ?
EDIT :
Will ODIN connect ... When you get that firmware error screen ?

No nothing, windows does recognize it and will install the driver. But Odin doesn't show anything happening and Kies just shows connecting. When you select emergency recovery in Kies it will stop trying to connect and bring up a dialog box asking for a recovery code. Apparently if the failure would have happened during a legit upgrade using Kies it would have generated an error code for recovery. Is there no way to repair this? Thought Samsung devices were suppose to be so easy to customize? Please help my son is pretty pissed.

Update!!!
I was able to get odin to connect to tablet and I got cwm recovery installed so it no longer boots to the failed firmware screen and I can get into recovery. My question is which firmware do I install?? The tablet is a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5113 wifi only. Is the P5113UEBLH3 firmware the correct one? It says it was provided by Cellular South which confuses me since the tablet is wifi only.
Update 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Success!!! Got into download mode and was able to load the stock 4.04 firmware and life is good again. Thanks to all that helped.
One thing. Always update your table with OTA or Kies. ODIN breaks the warrantie

I bricked my device from Odin while trying to revert from a CM10.1 nightly to stock JB. Device picked up in Odin, but would not flash... unless I reboot the device after I clicked start in Odin. Dunno why, but it loaded stock firmware on the error screen... don' ask me how...
I have experienced this. Run ODIN, then connect your devices to the computer. When ODIN detect it, unplug and then replug your device. When ODIN back detect it then flash.
Recent versions of Odin work the other way around. First plug then open. Older like <1.87, first you open the program then you plug device. Glad it got solved.

I have also hit this screen several times while playing with roms, this is a fairly common example of "softbrick". Fortunately for me, Odin had no problems connecting, and then simply flashed an oem rom. I have not been able to hard brick this thing, which is a huge surprise considering all the flashing I've done. Frankly I'm surprised it hasn't blown up like an iraqi IED yet lol!
This is a good thing! It means that Samsung built in a good failsafe. It just means you hosed your rom install all the way down to the bootloader. Easy to recover from
Glad ya learned to fix it!

Hi, my problem is identical. I have a samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 and after a failed update with Odin the message was:Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. I try again with Odin and nothing. I used Kies, and nothing. Then i saw a reference to the md5 philz_touch_5.03.7-p5110.tar.md5 and i use it with Odin. Sucess but the message was RESET. Everithing disappeared from screen except the battery logo. The tablet is always on and with that image. The volume buttons and power don't work and it is not detected.
I'm affraid the thing is bad.
Can you help? Thank you.

Hey cruise, would you happen to still have the file you used on your son's box? The only page I can find won't let me in.

I did exactly what the guide says , it was written in the guide that if i connect my phone to the pc i will see a yellow 0:[COMxx] in the first ID:COM and "Added" in the message box

Question is can anyone help me ?? please ??
i'm begging you please
Hi,
Be sure you installed kies, which should give you the drivers to see your device. Then be sure Windows sees your device properly when you plug it in. (check Windows device manager )
Now, to use Odin, you need to stop any running processes of kies on your PC in task manager, processes. (doing control-alt-delete)
Also, your phone has to be in download mode for Odin to see it.
If you need any help with any of that, you should be asking in the last thread you linked.
Good luck!

Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try agai
Hi. I got the problem where I cant use my tab, because it just shows this message: Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
It happened because I tried rooting my tab in Odin. At first it failed, I tried it a second time and it kind of lagged.. so being my stupid self I disconnected the tab and since then I have this problem.
I tried looking for some resolutions, but half of them either uses Odin:
1. which I really dont know how to use
2. which considers the tab being in download mode. My tab cant even do that.. when I hold the Power+home+volume down buttons, the screen goes black and then the same message comes back.
The second half of resolutions is with Kies. I didnt know about Kies earlier, so it doesnt have my tab details stored there.
I dont know if Kies has to have your tab stored to use the 'Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation' option, but I tried in anyway. When I write in my model, which is SM-T230NU, it shows that the model information I entered cannot be verified.
When I charged my tab a bit and connected to my computer, Kies isnt able to find it. It finds that something is connected, because it shows that it's connecting, but then it stops, then connects, and the same over and over.
Anyways, I have a Samsung galaxy Tab 4 7.0, model SM-T230NU, and I really want to try and repair it on my own before I give it to service.
Please dont hate on my stupidity, because I'm not really into technology..
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. You're are going to have to flash the stock firmware in Odin. Go to sammobile.com for the firmware and see this on how to use Odin,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1372414. If you can't get into download mode that's going to be a big problem. You can look for help by posting here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/help

Hello! I have a problem caused by an ODIN failure and I was wondering if I can get any help. My tablet is a GT P1000N and I updated my ROM to Lollipop 5.0. It worked perfect for around 2 weeks when suddenly when I was watching a You Tube video it start rebooting again and again so I downgrade it to stock rom and install Lollipop 5.1 by hygoandroid but I didn’t like it because my tablet was having problems with the screen and the notification bar also. And here is where my problems started. I flashed stock room via ODIN again to install Lollipop 5.0. I put everything in order to flash it and the process began but suddenly stop. I leave it like 30 min and then I realized it was stuck. So I disconnect the tab and shut it down. When I turn the download mode on again it was the cellphone exclamation sign computer and following a tutorial I recovered the tab and put it back to the normal download mode. I flashed the stock rom again and it didn’t get stuck but ODIN said FAILED. I put reset in Odin and put all the files again and press start but It didn’t make any change in my tab. I tried this like 3 times and then I try to put the tab again into recovery but the tab was in black. I tried to connect the tab to the computer and the computer recognized it (make the sound when you plug an usb) and I when I press the power button to shut down the computer makes the disconnect sound. Neither ODIN 3-V1-7 or heimdall suite 1.3.1 recognize my tab but my computer does like I explained. I hope anyone can help me. I know my tab is old but it was working great and I’m an engineering student that doesn’t have any money to buy a new one.
I wish everyone a great day. I speak Spanish, I did my best to write this in English. If something is not clear enough ask me.
Thanks!

Yesterday I Installed android 5.1 on my Samsung Galaxy S II with help of a tutorial video( The ROM I installed CM 12.1 Android 5.1.1) it all worked fine downloaded some apps like Pokemon go and it still worked fine until a update of cyanogenmod came up so I installed it restarted the phone, then the wifi connection started to do weird so I went to updates to see if there was an other update which I might have missed. There was one so I clicked it downloaded the update then I saw it was an old update. When the update rebooted the phone it didn't wanted to start. I think I downloaded an old update over a new update. I coulnd't get past the samsung logo cuz the screen would turn black . So I readed that I should reflash stock firmware via Odin which I did but now my phone keeps stuck at the samsung logo.
When I started the phone I did get the start screen
Samsung Galaxy S II
GT-I9100
then the samsung logo pops up
the intro music plays and that's it then it keeps repeating this steps all the time
also the recovery mode button combination doesn't seem to work so I cant get in recovery mode.
When I try to charge the phone
the screen stucks on the battery loading image
Hopefully someone has any ideas how to fix this problem and get my phone on and working again.
