Now that we have an official release of GB for the SGS4G, we have a standard set of bloatware that the phone comes with.
The purpose of the SGS4G Debloater is to let YOU pick what bloatware you'd like removed from your phone.
FEATURES
* Lets the user pick which bloatware to remove
* Creates a CWM zip file. Flash, reboot, bloatware free!
NOTES
* Works with any KJ6 based ROM
* This works best on a freshly installed KJ6 rom that hasn't grabbed any market updates yet.
* Keep your custom Debloater zip on your SD card in case you flash any other KJ6 based ROM, that way you always have the rom customized to your liking.
INSTRUCTIONS
1) Browse to http://teamacid.sourceforge.net/debloater/
2) Pick which bloatware apps you'd like removed
3) Download the zip file
4) Transfer to your phone
5) Flash and enjoy a snappier phone!

Every ROM developer that made me a flashoholic.

Don't forget to hit the thanks button.

Nice find,very useful

I'm also looking for anyone who's good at making sites look good using CSS, etc. Any web designers out there who'd like to lend a hand? I've always been more of a backend programmer.

Damn FBis251 you have made my day! I was complaining yesterday that no dev likes to debloat and talked to raver about it so i could learn to debloat... thanks a lot! I will give it a try when i get to computer and hit thanks.
About the web looks, im learning html, javascript and css... So maybe and if i get good at it will let you know and help.
*Trying it now on a reflash of KJ6 AOSP Style ROM...
*Worked like a charm! Thank you!

No problem. I was a little surprised when I tested it myself. The first reboot after removing the bloat made the phone feel pretty snappy. I was getting tired of using Titanium to uninstall all the /system apps so I made that site.

Jesus, man. I love this community. Thank you, FB.

You know I was thinking of attempting to write a similar site using Ruby on Rails, glad you did it first!
I'm happy to help lend a hand with the PHP/HTML/CSS/JS.
EDIT
Done with PHP, very nice! Looks solid, works wonderfully. Excellent work as always from you guys.

This is truly genius !
Clicked the Thanks! Tired of being a TB zombie every time i flash...

Just did it,IT HELPS OUT A LOT

I didn't even know something like this could be done! This is awesome!!
Thank you!

If you can I'd love to work with you to make a mobile phone interface. I need to work out a POST submission bug that I found when using a phone but I think that can be solved by passing the data using JSON instead of letting the browser handle it directly. Basically it should feel more like a native phone interface. Large checkboxes and text to make it easier to select items, etc.

I'd love to help any way I could, my only issue is I work A LOT, so I'm not sure about my free time until around Christmas.
And I love me some JSON, PHP plays so nicely with it (usually, lol).

Yeah I'm done with finals tomorrow so I'll finally get around to it this weekend. I want a nice break, this semester's been tough.
Nice to find another programmer though

Thank you- works great

Did you use the KJ6 debloater after your phone came up from installation and went down to CWM or you applied it on the same CWM session of ROM installation ?

[APP] CDMA Hero App Installer v2.0 | TESTERS NEEDED

Read my last post -- testers needed for the auto-rooter. PM me.
--------------------------------
Hey all. This is version 2.0 of my app installer. Gone is the 550 line batch file and here is a nice little GUI!
This app is the first step on the way to a full on visual kitchen for Android, but it may be a while before that becomes a reality. Right now this is really only designed to push back the stock applications that came with the CDMA Hero but were removed in Fresh ROM. However if you look around a little bit you will find a secret menu that lets you push whatever apk/odex you want (will be pushed to /system/app).
I have also added a button to clear your cache. This is a nifty little trick that is similar to clearing your temp and prefetch folders in Windows. It can help fix random issues like programs displaying wrong version numbers, an icon that isn't working after a rom flash (the voicemail icon is notorious for this) or any other little issues that just appeared.
As always, please report any known issues. This is another 4am release so there's bound to be mistakes. The only issue I know about so far is that after closing it in Windows 7 I get a dialogue pop-up saying that CDMA Hero App Installer may not have installed properly (it thinks the program should be installed rather than just ran). I'm looking in to the issue but right now it's just a minor annoyance and doesn't affect anything.

i do what it says but nothing happens
Works great. I wanted Sprint tv back for Thursday night football. One thing when prompted yes or no, type the entire word. Y or N will not suffice and will result in an error. Very well done and super easy to use.

Copy/paste me your "interaction" with the program and I'll check out what the problem might be. I'm throwing another batch script style program like this together that will help people disable some programs that are auto-starting. i should really learn how to just through a quick gui together. I hate programming though. ha.

Looks great! I have a question Flipz. Is there any way to get an app like Sprint TV working over Wifi with a rooted phone? I know stock, it wont allow it run over Wifi. Was just curious if its a possibility, and didnt want to start another thread just to ask.

[APP-Kernels] Kernel Manager released!

Kernel Manager released! Lite (free): http://tinyw.in/0i8, Pro (cost): Available in the Market...ENJOY!
Hey everyone! I wanted to introduce a new app with a very simple but ambitious goal: create a place where all kernel developers can submit kernels easily and reach a much wider audience with ease.
The app currently does this:
1) Downloads a kernel from our fast and stable teamwin server
2) Unzips the relevant files (modules included)
3) Flashes the kernel
4) Installs the kernel modules
5) Clears cache/dalvik-cache
6) Reboots to apply the changes.
This entire process takes less than a minute, generally, (depending on download speeds of course ), and it is extremely simple for end-users to find a kernel, filter by kernel features (BFS, CFS, HAVS, SBC, etc) download/install kernels, and submit ratings for their favorite kernels.
In order for this to be a success, we need support from kernel developers like YOU! Submitting a kernel to Kernel Manager is totally free and we even provide hosting for you! Right now I'm looking for kernel developers to submit kernels to start populating the app. Submitting kernels is easy!
If you use IRC, join us in freenode in #kernel-manager!
THE LINK IS FOR KERNEL DEVELOPERS SPECIFICALLY! Go to http://kernels.teamw.in and register for an account! Once it's approved, you can easily enter new kernels, which immediately show up in the app. The app will be released in the market, and there will be a free+ad supported version, and a for-cost version that removes the ads.
Right now, we have a specific list of supported phones, but plan to add every nand-unlocked phone as soon as possible. (There are a lot of variables to account for on multiple devices to make sure the process works )
Please feel free to provide me with any feedback you have, or feature requests in order to make this a great tool for all of android to utilize!

Gimme a shout when it's on the market and I'll make a nice big note at the top of the Desire Index about it.
Josh.
Hmmm...this is like ROM manager for kernel. Nice initiative.
In addition to kernel ratings adding features like "Recommended Kernel" will be great. But its an excellent effort. Kudos!
wow, very nice idea, I'm always looking for the latest and greatest kernel....
I hope that Colonel Coutts gets involved in this as his Desire kernels are the best around

AWESOME, this is the best thing since ROM Manager, works like a charm!!
But please add kernals that are actually really good, not only these ****shits that are included atm.
BTW: I feel like I noticed some more battery drain since I've installed this app. Is that kernal related somehow or is it the app itself? Is anyone else experiencing this?
Does this app give links of the kernel sources (hosted by developers) ?
Otherwise, it breaks the GPL license and moderators may lock this thread :/

Yes kernel source is required and a link is included. If a kernel is in violation of GPL, it will be removed from the app.

Also, any kernel developer is welcome to submit their kernels to the app - http://kernels.teamw.in. I have not posted any kernels myself, that's up to kernel devs, which is the whole reason I posted this thread.
haha.. i like the pop corn pic.
Flashed several kernels, and only had it come up with an error once. Later that day an update came out which read like it was fixing that issue.
Great job, useful tool, but must get buy in from the kernel devs.

Why on earth would you clear dalvik cache
Also good luck getting devs to submit their work i bet they can't wait for some random to make $ of their free work.

It does seem a bit strange having to pay to flash a mates Kernal...
I just got image files missing report to dev message. I tried all 3 there with rcmix 5.9.3.
EDIT: Its booting with Leppies Kernal...
Great work with this app, and as for kernel dev, u guys should be more open minded, this is an excellent way for your kernels to get to various users, and the app dev just said that there will be an free version with ads ofc. And if kernel devs wanted to get money on their work, they wouldn't publish it on this forum for free, so thumbs up for as many kernels as possible on the app servers and maybe Shinzul will buy a couple of beers to the kernel devs so they wont be mad
Lol how come the hes report about being rubbed is gone ? funny stuff, XDA- Warezz nowday?!
lets see how google feels about your application .
How is this different to ROM manager, except that it is for kernel only? IMO, ROM manager already provides this functionality...

I think the new RM has a link to this application, i smell conspiracy.
I have just downloaded and tried this and I think it is great, one thing I would like to request?
Could you add an option to only download the kernel, instead of only being able to download and flash?
Just flashed kernel through it and it seems to work well!

You guys are awesome on xda. App works perfectly.
Started a kernel flash - during the download, I switched from 3G to WiFi. It didn't like that! Download froze. Phone locked. Just had to push power button until screen off, then power button on to get phone back. From Manage Applications, did a a clear data, clear cache, force close. Tried to run it again (saw that download count was up by one) and it immediately went into unzip. That ran a bit with nothing happening, so I killed it again. Looked on my sd card and found the kernel zip; it was only a couple of hundred kb. in size. Deleted it, ran it again; everything ran smooth (and download count went up by another one.)

Yeah sorry about that - I am going to fix the downloader so it doesn't flip out and break if/when you lose your data connection.

Minor issue: KM Lite won't register my vote. I'm trying to rate x99's AOSP kernel a 5 but it takes the vote but the counter won't go up. Still shows only one person has voted.

FYI: It's still showing just 1 vote for x99's CM7 kernel. I've exited the app plenty of times, rebooted, etc. I've even bought the Pro KM and it still just shows the 1 vote.

[Q] Boost Mobile - Samsung Galaxy Prevail Rom Developmant

Was just wondering if anyone is excited as I am about this phone and if any roms could/will be developed for this model. I know Boost Mobile isn't a major carrier so development may get pushed to the wayside, but just thought I'd ask.
Thanks for any inquiries or info.
Now that the Boost Samsung Prevail has been actually released, I'm curious too as to whether this will be embraced by the community. At $180, along with inexpensive plans, I'd think this Prevail would be the equivalent to what the Nook Color is for tablets.
I too would love to see some action with this phone. As previously stated, being on an unlimited Boost plan at $50/month with shrinkage, I think this is the phone to explode in the Boost market. I can see many people getting this phone, such as myself within the next week, and would love to see something like CM7 available for it.
If this phone were rooted, and CM7 then made available I would pick up this phone in a heartbeat. I hope the devs pick up on it.
I am ready to test
I have been playing with cooked ROMs for year.
I am ready to help testing if any chef is interested.
There was just a custom rom beta released last night.
Several users are using it and have so far reported no problems.
Good stuff is soon to come
For up to date information on Prevail development join us on IRC.

Hey Ravious you said there was a rom Any Links or locations
Google works wonders You'll have to beg CyanogenMod though to even touch this thing I bet
If someone had the stock rom on their device, can they back it up and post it so i can download the file? I would prefer the rom before the update.

dont mind the blue tint, shootme has some issues with yalls phone
Alright lets get to the nitty gritty of it all, this is the thread where all 0.x-1.x versions will be released, as it stands right now this is nothing more then just a glorified stock, but its better then that . deodexing the rom allows for easier themeing so i want to see some creative **** start to flow in.. yall dont want me making themes... anyways down to the goods
I want to apologize to anyone that was affected by version 0.5, i want to say thanks for teh support ive received during these past few days. as you can see ive decided to continue on doing what i can for yall. on that note it has been brought to my attention that i should include a disclaimer:
This is a product designed outside of samsung, i do not have the resources to make sure it is "bug-proof" (apparently they dont either.. but thats another story). as such by installing this software YOU accept responsibility for your actions. if anything does happen i will try my best to assist you, but i cant promise anything. as such i try my very hardest to make sure things work just great before they ever get put out in the public

What did you use for a custom recovery? I have root access on my prevail.... but now what =)
I went ahead and installed this on my phone despite not having recovery or a stock image if things go south =/ it worked just fine tho. The only issues I have noticed is the browser does not render when I tilt my phone, it does not expand it. Also on some webpages the buttons for submitting do not appear. But otherwise NICE job! Appreciate the rom and any future ones!
versions 0.8.5 is out btw, sorry i dont post on here often since xda doesnt like prepaid carriers
has anyone noticed yet that you are not able to get into the service mode to change the msl???
i think there s some apk's missing for it to work
would it be possible to put them back in so the phone can be reconfigured?
How is there no stock ROM yet?!
I have been using the v.9 loaded version of this ROM on my Prevail and everything seems to be running fine. I use the 3G speed tweek and it all is pretty good for me. Shabby Penguin has done a splendid job for this little device and I look forward to some further developement with this phone.. Like in the first part of this thread someone had mentioned how nice this little phone is with the shrinkage plan, etc. good buy for someone on a smaller budget that wants an affordable smartphone with the capabilities of being rooted and customized. Great work Mr. Penguin!
ps. PM me for the speed tweeking link if you need it since this one of my first posts on here I can't refer links until I am a little more talkative, so it seems.
Shabby Mod
Well I installed this mod and things went south...really south. Been trying to flash it with the stock rom except it's NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. Can someone lend a helping hand?
look up Odin Recovery ED13 will bring you back to stock
Does anyone know if the AAA password really is unique for each phone and if I'm totally screwed by not having it? I can't for the life of me get 3g on my phone now and I have a feeling the AAA password is involved. Google doesn't help too much, some say to call the provider and ask for it, others say it's unique to each phone and you're screwed if you lose it. In any case, I tried asking Boost Mobile for it and they pretty much had no idea what I was talking about.
I feel like shooting myself, I'm on my way to my third Prevail in two weeks.
How to root Samsung Prevail
I am still trying to find out how to install the root. Would you mind doing some baby steps with me? The root looks good and I would like to try it.

[APP] Multi List Checklist Application! Updated v2.0

Hello XDA!
I know there are hundreds of To Do List applications already submitted to the Play Store, however many of them that I found were too cluttered with features, or had a very unappealing layout.
Because of this, I decided to create Multi List! Its themed to look like an ICS for all phones, regardless of your Android version. This is my first Android project so I would really appreciate your feedback and suggestions. You can email me at [email protected]. Before creating this app, the only programming experience I had was with Python and PHP with MYSQL. I'm currently a student at Indiana University in the School of Informatics program, and I spent a portion of this current semester learning Java and Android. I created this application as a class final project, but I will continually work on making Multi List better.
I'm also highly considering open sourcing the application. The popular open source To Do lists, Astrid and Open Intents, are so complicated and featured that it is really hard for anyone learning Android development to figure out how the code is working. I believe open sourcing this could help any new developers, as well as help make the app better. I'm not at all interested in making money off of this. If anybody has advice on the best code hosting site for open source Android applications, let me know. I feel like most are using Google Code or GitHub.
Here is the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.informaticsdev.multilist
If you do not have a Play Store account, I have uploaded the current .APK file on my site. Find the link here. http://informaticsdev.com
Thank you!

just downlaoded it...very nice! You will see my review in the play market under "Bobby".
Thanks man! Neither the backup nor the edit option should be too difficult to implement. After my finals are finished a week from now I should be able to add these pretty quickly. Next update will also give the option to use the holo light theme if desired.

thankyou, downloading it and going to try it out for my homework =)
Thanks!
Let me know how you like it and any suggestions to make it better! I should be releasing a new version with some of the requested features from others sometime this week.
Updates Soon
I've added planned updates for next release in the second post. Thank you all for your suggestions either by email, forum, or Play Store review. I'll continue to add more expected features, while trying to keep it as simple as possible.
Version 1.5 now available
I have updated the application with many of the requests that have been asked from me. See the second post for update details. I didn't want to hold out on what I had done so far, so I went ahead and released a new version, and the other updates will be out soon.
Things next release:
Edit name of category or listing.
Persistent Sorting.
Coming Soon:
Widget
Thank you! I would appreciate any feedback. I have a limited number of devices to test so I may accidentally miss things. For some reason, it may require pressing a theme option more than once to change it. I will try and fix this next release as well.
Huge update released! ICS action bar now used on all android versions + edit checklist item name.
Only major thing missing which I will add next release is ability to rename a checklist.

in the "about" section of the app it still says version 1.5 even tho i updated to 1.8. it is 1.8 under the manage my apps section tho. just a heads up! good work man!
Yeah..... I noticed that too :/ lol I forgot to change it. I feel like I update too often now as it is, so I'll fix it next release when I add the option to rename entire lists. How did you like the backup feature that you had requested? Do you have any suggestions to make that part better.
And thanks Nexus2515!

yeah it's really no big deal at all. certainly not worthy of an update just for that. looking forward to the rename list option! and couldn't ask for more with the backup feature...i'm a rommer so im always creating backups with texts and certain apps, and my task list is always one of them so that was a big deal for me! seems like it works exactly as it should! thank you!
I just finished the rename list option. I'll update it soon. I don't know what the standard is for updating apps. I don't want to frustrate users by updating daily (which I have for the last couple of days), but then again I don't want to hold out on updates.
Other than that, I think the app is pretty full featured. For its purpose, a widget would be nice and some sort of syncing option but thats mostly it. My next work on this would be to add a widget, but at the time, I don't think I'm capable of building in Google Tasks sync. I may open source it at some point for assistance on that and more app recognition. I didn't even know a bit of Java or Android programming until about 4 months ago lol.
i personally do not mind app updates. i guess it bothers some people but i actually like going into the market and seeing updates!
the widget would be very nice...and honestly the only other thing i was going to suggest was the sync feature. although, as you said, i'm not sure if it is possible with google or not.
right now the app does everything i would ask for, so anything else is just icing for me.
there is an app out there that i have used in the past, cozy i believe it is called, that has the ability to sync across devices which was nice. idk y i stopped using it to be honest. lol. i would be able to update a grocery list, etc. and my wife could see the updated list on her phone and vice/versa. not a bad feature. i think it was the layout of the app itself that i wasn't crazy about so i stopped using it.
I just updated the app with rename options! I had to update because it was crashing on Honeycomb. Everything should be working perfectly on all devices now.
And yeah, honestly most to do list apps now sync. At some point I would like to figure that out, but that would be later down the road.
As a request from someone, I am working on an export to xml/html. I have the xml export working, however xml isn't really a good solution for a readable file. I will not have any time to work over the weekend, but I should be able to put out an update soon that gives the ability to send lists by email, etc. This would be formatted as html in a table type layout that could also be printed, etc.
