[Q] Sensation XE rooted & total memory is 563MB instead of 768MB? - HTC Sensation

Hi, this is my first android phone (Sensation XE) & I'm new with this rooting the phone thingy. I recently rooted my phone (S-OFF, Install ClockWork Recovery, permanently Root & obtain SuperCID) successfully. But haven't decided on which custom ROM to use.
Then I discovered that the total memory on my device is 563MB instead of 768MB.
Is this normal?

.......atleast do a search. some ram is reserved for system/gpu or something like that. It's normal.

Yeah, but in Task Manager it says 768MB before i rooted it & now it's 563MB. Is that a problem?

Problem
No, it is not a problem, i have the same 562 MB total- the phone Flies in both Insert Coin and Android Revolution HD Roms - just don't get yourself nervous about it, go flash the custom ROMS and Enjoy. It is Typical

OK Thanks.
I notice that you have Android Revolution HD Rom on your device. Which custom ROM works best with my XE? SENSEaY XE35 v2.1.0 or Android_Revolution HD Sensation 4.1.8? Or any other custom rom?

There is no best ROM. use what you like best. I prefer using ARHD.
Swyped from my HTC Sensation using xda premium.

Try a few different ones, I now use my own ROM which I haven't released as it is purely for myself as I liked leedroid supersensation but a few things about it annoyed me so I nodded it for my personal use and now use that.

Yeah it's cool but I've tried Android Revolution HD - Sensation_4.1.8 & it doesn't support beats audio so I switched to SENSEaY XE35 v2.1.0. But I seem to like ARHD better but....no beats......
Any suggestion to which rom I should try next?

And as far as best ROMs, just try them out see what you like. I personally love ARHD and am running 4.1.8 right now. Was running 3.6 for a while and switched. Other ones are great too, just look for screen shots of ones you like, flash it and enjoy! If you arent happy with one, just backup all your apps use SuperWipe and flash something else

Ok, i've been trying out different rom lately.
I've tried Android_Revolution_HD-Sensation_4.1.8 (not really my type but nice), SENSEaY XE35 v2.1.0, & InsertCoin_Sensation_Android_2.3.5. Before I could try LeeDrOiD-SuperSensational-V4.2.1, I found a perfect rom that I really like - Elegancia_V_1.3!!
It's fully themed & the Beats seems to be better than the other roms I've tried. I like how some of the apps I use are already in there.
I think I'll stick to this one for awhile.

[Q] Sensation XE Stock ROM for Sensation?

Hey guys,
I have been locking for a stock ROM of the Sensation XE but all I found where custom ROMS based on the XE.
Are there any working stock Sensation XE ROMs? Couldn't find anything with the search function.
1. S-OFF
2. Super CID
3. Flash the XE RUU
You now have a 100% stock XE, albeit with 1.2GHz rather than 1.5GHz

The Sensation and the Sensation do have the same hardware except for the battery right?
Is it possible to clock the Sensation to 1,5GhZ?
Yep, but you need a custom kernel for it

Kind of turning the Sensation into a Sensation XE?
Yep, InsertCoin or Android Revolution HD (not the Sense 3.5 versions)
OR, my stock XE ROM + the recommended kernel

Look the thing is, as soon as any hint of ICS ROM test or official gets leaked, I guarantee that within 2 days there will be custom ROM's so best stick to non stock for now.

Yes, with a rooted phone you can install custom a Kernel or Rom.
Download and install ROMmanager. This will allow you to install Clockworkrecovery. Once that is installed you can download your choice of Kernel - I can personally recommend Bricked or Faux kernels - found elsewhere here on xda. Save the downloaded file to your sd card and select the Install ROM from SD card option in ROM manager.
NOTE: Before you install this, make a NAND backup - you will get prompted by Rom manager - this will allow you to restore back to your current position if you experience any problems or are unhappy with the update.

I've tried at least the last 10 versions of ARHD downclocked to 1.2, and the latest is the best. Both had the previous radio and the recommended, both worked fine for me, signal, voice quality, up/download speed are almost the same.
ARHD consumes very little power when screen off, but relatively more (compared to stock roms) when awake and using cpu/gpu intensive applications. For office use, you can get two days of battery life with no additional tricks (push exchange + HSDPA on)
Stability: almost zero fc-s, no lags, feels like a well optimized factory rom
From Sense roms, this is the best you can get.

Hi,
Changing ROMS has no affect on the radio.
There is no need to change the radio to an earlier version, unless you are having serious problems with the one you have installed.

If you do this you will probably get bootloops.
As far as I know, you would have to flash an older firmware, because the new one is only compatible with roms built for it (ARHD 6.1 for example).

3.12 is for the first lot of ICS roms, such as ARHD 6.0.X, IC etc.. 3.24 is for ARHD 6.1.X. For gingerbread roms and to get advanced fastboot commands you need 1.17 firmware.

I know that because I compared that rom to stock deodexed and literally 4 things changed, init.post_boot.sh, added some init.d scripts which he nicked off a thread in android software and hacking section, rooted stuff like su binary, SuperSU app and build.prop
But anyway I have already made my opinion of mike1986 clear in other threads...
The fact that all "his" addons are made by other people says all that is needed to say about his ability (or inability) to dev...

Depends on what you like best:
CyanogenMod - I would recommend OpenSensation or the latest CM nightly
Sense 3.6 - SmartDroid sense 3.6 ROM, my sense 3.6 ROM (DarkForest Sensation)
Stripped Sense 3.6 ROM - HyperSensation
Sense 4.0 - Team Venom ViperS, SmartDroid Daemon, InsertCoin Evolution 2.20, my sense 4 ROM (DarkForest Sense 4)
Sense/AOSP hybrid - SmartDroid Beserk
In short there's loads of ROM's for all different people and the only way you'll find out which one you like best is to flash a few different ones then decide which one to stick with
Have fun!

just rooted and S-off, wich ROM.... ?

I just rooted my Sensation XE and got it S-off. :victory:
Installed Rom Manager and Titanium backup (backed-up everything).
Now i don't know wich Rom i would use....there are so many...
I want it to be stable, i use Go Launcher instead of Sense because Sense had the ennoying problem it was closing to free memory when i was using a load of memory. In Go Launcher i can select it to remain always open.
I would like a stable ROM wich keeps camera, bluetooth etc....all working without problems.
In addition of this question i would like to know if i can just remove Sense true titanium backup from my phone without problems? (on stock rom or other ROM ? )
I hope i put this thread in the right section 'cos i'm not used to using this forum yet
Thanks in advance for every reply :good:

Rooted and S-Off, tried these ROM so far 1)Android Revolution Hd, 2)Elegan Blitz 2.6 3)Viper 1.1
---and my choice is Blitz 2.6 with SebastianFM 1.5.2 OC Kernel, Very Fast and Stable, But disadvantage SebastianFM Kernel miss out SweepToWake feature which i really like.. Tried all other Kernel with Blitz Rom, they all fast but performance did not stable as SebastianFM Kernel.
--------Sorry for my Worse English----
@ this moment I'm running Android Revolution HD and until now I didn't find any problems. I think I'll leave it this way for a while.

What are you all retarded ?!?!?!? You gotta go aosp!!!! CM9 is the best choice only retards and crackheads like sense overlay (all offense) lol
I must say that on factory ROM i was using Go Launcher because Sense got closed sometimes when I was using many RAM. Reloading Sense always took a bit of time wich I found annoying. The downside of using go launcher was the loss of the HTC widgets... Go contacts wasn't so good in my opinion. In my current ROM Sense didn't close once so for me it's perfect. It looks very beautiful and it's faster than ever before.
