Warning: Flashing T-Mobile sbf will update the Bootloader, so cant downgrade or flash other sbf.
This guide is for update any Motorola Charm w/o brand to the latest T-Mobile update with fully working 2G/3G network, and get many improvements (Best of all Stability and Battery).
If you have official US T-Mobile Charm you don't need this. as it can be updated normally.
Requirements:
* Any sbf file that currently work (2G/3G) with the corresponding Mobile Providers Link.
* T-Mobile 03.90.7 BLUR firmware sbf file. Link from the Wiki.
* RSD Lite 4.6 Link from the Wiki.
* Moto Android Depacker Link.
* SuperOneClick for Root Internal link.
* Root explorer NO LINK! (Or via ADB).

Guide:
A- Backup from the running firmware.
1. Root the phone (any method).
2. Install Root Explorer (alternatively can use ADB or terminal emulator).
3. Backup this folder and save a copy in the computer. "etc\motorola\bp_nvm_default".

B- Extract BP from the sbf (That currently work with your 2g/3g network).
1. Open Motorola Android Depacker --> Open From File -->Browse the sbf
2. Click "Split To Folder" this will generate a folder with the same name of the sbf.
3. Remove all split files except this one "CG45.smg" (BP Firmware file).

C- Mod T-Mobile sbf.
1. Open Motorola Android Depacker --> Open From File -->Browse the sbf (T-Mobile one).
2. Click "Split To Folder" --> browse to the splitted folder.
3. Replace and overwrite the "CG45.smg" with the one from B.
4. Open Motorola Android Depacker --> "Open File Folder" --> Browse T-Mobile split folder.
5. Click on "Compile File" this will generate "firmware.sbf" with BP that work with the phone.

D- Install T-Mobile Mod sbf.
1. Backup any needed phone data.
2. Install and open RSD Lite --> Click on "..." --> Browse to "firmware.sbf"
3. Connect the phone to the computer.
4. Wait until phone show as connected in the RSD Lite--> click "Start".
5. Wait until RSD Lite finish. --> Configure "Moto blur" account.
Optional: It's possible to restore "clockworkmod" backup using polovinamozga's Bootstrapped Recovery Link.

E- Restore network.
1. Root the phone (using SuperOneClick).
2. Install Root Explorer.
3. Copy this folder from step "A" to the SD Card "bp_nvm_default".
4. open Root Explorer --> Navigate to "sdcard" --> navigate to "bp_nvm_default" folder.
5. "Multi-select" these files:
File_Audio
File_Audio2
File_GSM
File_Seem_Flex_Tables
generic_pds_init

6. Then press "Copy" --> Navigate to "etc\motorola\bp_nvm_default" --> "Mount RW".
7. Paste --> Overwrite all the files.
8. IMPORTANT Select all copied files (from step E-5) and change permission to rw-r--r--.
9. Reboot phone...Then add the APN of the corresponding network provider.

It still "2.1 update-1" but have many improvements, see the list at the top of this thread.
Not much improvement IMHO.
Of what I've heard, the t-mo rom sucks more battery. So an improvement on that= avg. battery life on deblur ROMs. Also, my messaging app already shows the last msg instead of the first. Possibly, t-mo had to put up an update for these while others got it stock.
I try to use this guide to change baseband from my t-mobile to movistar chile to use 3g, but when i turn on, i´m not getting signal from my carrier. any solution??
(for now i reflashed t-mobile rom to use the phone but i really want to use 3g)

I stay in India and unknowingly, flashed with a T-mobile's latest (3.90) ROM. The network stopped working and I learnt that I cant downgrade...

Tested on rooted XXKP4.
1. Extract the achive called "xUltimate 2.2" then start Main.exe.
2. If everything is ok, xUltimate will recognize your phone (don't forget to turn on "USB Debugging"), then you will see a menu.
3. Run option 1, after option 1 run option 2.
4. Run option 3 and after option 3, run option 4 and wait
5. Close xUltimate
6. Copy folders "done_app" and "done_frame" to root of /sdcard/
7. Put the folder from "gscript.zip" to root of /sdcard/
8. Install BusyBox_installer_3.6.3 (run (root needed) and click on "Install", then wait to finish (wtf ) ), after this install nl.rogro.GScriptLite.
9. Turn off and turn on the phone (restart)
10. Switch the phone to "USB Debugging" mode and turn on "Emulate Location"
11. Go to GScript Lite --> Menu --> Add script --> Load file --> Deodex.sh --> Save --> Run
12. Ok, now the phone will restart.
13. If your phone doesn't stuck in bootloop, seems everything is ok

how do i check for that? i used "my files"(show hidden files) and tried to connect to pc via mass storage. i cant find "system/app" or i should use third part file explorer on my phone? Sorry for being a noob.
use a file explorer like root explorer to get access to the root of your phone

Ok, so the story behind this mini-tutorial is that I upgrade their phones periodically, as part of the upgrade process I have to wipe the phones and a nandroid backup doesn't always work.
Titanium Back Up is another option, But sometime i really would like to extract the .apk files from the Apps downloaded from Market.
Hence, I had to figure out a way to extract the .apk files from my phone so I could install them on theirs.
Here's how it's done:
There are two ways of extracting .apk files from your device:
Using a file manager like "EStrongs File Manager" or "ASTRO File Manger" (downloadable from the Market), or
Manually extracting .apk files through the Android SDK.
Method #1 - Using a file managerPrerequisite: Rooted device
Using ES File Manager
1) Open ES File Manager
2) Click on the menu button of your device
3) Click on "Manager"
4) Click on "App Manager"
5) Long press on app you want to extract
6) Click on "backup"
7) Extracted .apk files will be placed on the "backups" directory of your sd card
Using ASTRO
1) Open ASTRO File Manager
2) Click on the menu button of your device
3) Click on "tools"
4) Click on "Application Manager/Backup"
5) Choose apps to backup and click on "backup" to finish
6) Extracted .apk files will be placed on the "backups" directory of your sd card

How to extract apk files in Android
Here's how I extract apk files in android:
1. Download and install APK Extractor in your device. It is free, and is compatible in almost all of the Android devices. Another plus point is it does not even require root or anything to work.
2. After you have it installed, launch it. There you will see a list of apps which are in your device, which include the apps you’ve installed later, along with the system apps. Long press any app you want to extract (you can select multiple or all apps at once), and click on the extract option you see in the top. You will also have the option to share via Bluetooth or messaging.
3. You’re done, you will see the extracted apps as AppName_AppPackage_AppVersionName_AppVersionCode.apk, which will be saved in the path /sdcard/ExtractedApks/ by default.

Wifi Tethering Mod
Here are the original instructions use the zip at your own risk. It seems some people are experiencing problems with it...
I have modified the instructions to pertain to the Flex exactly.
This mod is not for the newbie, you must be rooted and I implore you to make a safe back up file in a new location of the file you will be editing. Actually two back ups, one completely stock the other you will use for editing.
I have edited his instructions for usage on the Pantech Flex running ICS.
Here’s the usual disclaimer: if you brick your phone it’s not my problem…. though I will help in any way I can as in my research I soft bricked my own device and was able to get it restored to a factory state.
Steps:
1. Root device using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/show….php?t=2008888
2. Acquire/Install SQlite Editor or any Android SQL editor of your choice, Install ES File Explorer or Root File Explorer
3. Navigate to (root level) /Data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/
4. Copy file settings.db Navigate to SDcard/Backups/ now paste file to this location
5. Rename the file in Backups/ settings.db to settings.db.bak (if all goes to hell this is your backup file)
6. Paste the file again so you will have two settings files in Backups one ending in .bak and one ending in .db (this is the file you will be editing).
7. Open SQLite Editor and point it to /sdcard/Backups/settings.db and open it. You now will see a list of settings locations. Click on “secure”
8. Here you are going to be looking for two distinct lines. The line numbers may vary by device so I suggest you list name in list view:
Line 1. softap_free_supported
Line 2. softap_entitlement_interval
9. Change Line 1′s value to 1 in the SQL editor. Change Line 2′s value to 0 in the SQL editor save and close or just close depending on the editor.
10. Using your file explorer navigate back to /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/ rename settings.db to settings.db.bak
11. Navigate to /sdcard/backups/settings.db(the one you edited) and copy the file go back to com.android.providers-etc and paste the file.
12. SUPPER IMPORTANT if the file permisuions on settings.db are not rw-rw-rw make them so in your file explorer.
If these permissions are no correct your phone will get stuck on the AT&T boot screen. ie softbricked
13. Reboot and you should be able to go to More in settings then Tethering & portable hotspot and turn it on set up your settings etc.
14. FYI under battery management you may want to change the value to never time out as it applies to the phones activity not the wifi activity.
This had been tried and tested on AT&T only it may work on other carries. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

You must be rooted and have CWM intalled.
1 Download the recovery mod zip file to the internal storage of your phone.
2 Reboot into recovery and make a CWM backup of your phone.
3 From recovery clear the cache and dalvik cache
4 Install the zip from the location you saved it to.
5 Reboot your phone.
6 Go to your phone settings wireless and networks, click on more, click on tethring and portable hotspot, click the box next to portable-wifi-hotspot. You are now up and running.
7 Personalize your hotspot settings in portabpe wi-fi hotspot settings.
8 Grab a free app like Hotspot Toggle to add to your home screen for easy one click on and off.

Its because the file you edited is in your data folder. You will need to change a few things in your system folder to completely enable it.

Use the manual method for now we have a new zip file that should be up within the next 24 hours.
The manual method only changes the exact strings of info pertaining to tethering so it doesn't disturb the system files etc.

Sorry guys all the zip installable files people have done for me have not worked for various reasons.
The manual method works tried and true on AT&T. I don't know about other carriers but I'm sure you would want to look at the same settings in the same file for changes.
By the way bluetooth tethering also works with this mod, but wifi tether yields much higher internet speeds.

Do it at your own risk
Well, since I rooted my S7 Edge, I noticed that it's Wi-Fi wasn't working right, it didn't save the networks I had previously connected, and took a lot of time to recognize the networks when you turned on Wi-Fi, and after searching and searching for a while, finally found out how to fix it.
Requirements
- Phone must be rooted.
- Es File Explorer(you can download it on Play Store or download the .apk file)
I used ES File Explorer because it's easy to enable Root Explorer, but you can use any other file explorer if you want(since it enable you to use Root Explorer)
It's a easy process, but you need to be careful because any pass you follow incorrectly can brick your device(I guess).
So once you installed ES File Explorer, open it and click on the menu(upper left side), scroll down and enable the Root Explorer option, then go to your internal storage main folder(" / "), scroll down and enter the system folder, in this folder, you will find a txt archive named "build.prop", backup this archive, open it and tap options then edit.
You will:
1. Find the line "ro.securestorage.support=true";
2. Change true to false;
2. Save in the system folder;
3. Reboot the phone.
PS: If you haven't enabled the Root Explorer option, you will not be able to save the file.
If it don't work, replace the build.prop archive you backed up previously in the system folder.
Nice guide. But it probably won't work on Nougat, you need to replace secure storage libs with ones from Superkernel.

Most of the moto e5 users have the same issue where after reverting back to stock rom from a custom rom, mobile data doesn't work, auto rotation doesn't work, it won't detect when you pick up your phone- and others... So these issues are related to sensors and connectivity. I found that my imei number gets lost in stock rom. Let's fix it and get our old Motorola back-
Before Starting
You have to backup certain things from a custom rom where everything (Data & Sensors) works fine-
You must use MT File Manager
1/ Boot into TWRP, click on backup, select storage- sd card, select FSG, EFS, PERSIST. Then swipe to backup.
2/ Open Mt file manager. Backup sensors folder from /mnt/ vendor/persists/sensors.
3/ Backup APN settings from /system/etc/apns-conf.xml.
Download & install stock ROM
1/ Download & install rescue and smart assistant tool from here
2/ Boot you mobile into fastboot mode and connect it with PC.
3/ Open rescue and smart assistant tool & it will detect your device.
4/ Rescue menu will automatically open up. Click on download button to start downloading the rom.
5/ After completing the download, open file explorer and find the stock rom zip that you downloaded. If you can't find it in RSA program files directory, simply search for it (You can search a keyword from the name that you saw while downloading the rom in RSA. For example- nora users can search "nora"). Then cut and paste it to a convenient directory. Extract the zip to folder name.
6/ Copy all files of platform-tools folder & paste them to the stock rom folder.
7/ Download the attached flash.zip file, extract it and move the bat file to stock rom folder.
8/ Make sure your device is connected to pc in fastboot mode. Then double click on the flash.bat file. It will take 5 to 10 minutes.
If you see no service on top then try the fixes. If one doesn't work, try the next-
Fix- 1
Boot into TWRP and restore FSG, EFS & PERSIST backup. Reboot.
Fix- 2
Open MT file manager. In your left side, Open the backed up sensors folder. In right side, Go inside /persist/sensors/. Then copy and replace the 3 files from left to right side. Reboot.
Fix- 3
Open MT file manager. In right side, go inside /system/etc/. Then copy and replace apns-conf.xml file from left side to right side. Reboot.

Ahh, my bad. It's a serious issue of stock rom for a long time. That's why I thought it should help people in the ROMs section. Anyways ..
