Mine started working, so who knows.

Make sure your network mode is on HSPA..though I'm not sure if that is a ROM specific thing. Mine stopped working, but I changed my network mode and it came back.

glad I'm not the only one. Mine is acting spotty. In and out. Switched to PTA. Working awesomely

Possible fix to data connection issues

As with many skyrocket users, there seems to be trouble connecting to the AT&T data network for an extended time. the 4g icon indicates its connected but won't send or receive data unless packet data is disconnected and re enabled. After some hours of research and calls to customer service, I've found what could be a potential fix.
By dialing the ussd code ( *#*#4636#*#*) a menu comes up and gives you the options of
phone information
battery information
Usage statistics
And wifi information.
Under the phone information menu, an option for data network preferences appears at the bottom of the screen. By changing third setting, the connection issues should be solved...
however...
I can't seem to get any of the selections to stay. meaning, are I select my preference and exit, when I return to the screen its at its original setting. I believe it may change and stay if I rout which I haven't due to my phone being an AT&T company phone so if any rooted skyrockets would like to volunteer and test out my theory, we would all be greatly appreciated.

You are basically disabling the LTE radio (network) but it is temporary (for testing purposes). I think using a non-LTE APN will do the same thing and you can change it back when you are ready. Someone that knows more can correct me if I am wrong.
I used that method originally however I ran into the same issues. I was using the CINGULAR.WAP apn.
If anyone knows of another apn that I can test I would appreciate it

OK so this is what worked for me
For apn name i put AT&T and for apn type I put just : Phone and left everything else blank and even input the mms setting found online for at&t and that's got me hspa data so far

yes you have to add the other APNs for this to work. If you only have the PTA APN, it will only lock onto LTE if in a LTE area.
Now if you are rooted and running a ROM where you can change the network within the normal options area, you have to set the APN first then change to H+. It may fail the first time but try it again and eventually it will downshift to H+.

will this method still connect to lte? Not that it matters to me since I don't live in an lte zone but just out of curiosity

I kept trying my method and it worked. So far no disconnect or data stall outs to report reaching day 3 now

i m have unlocked skyrocket, currently in india using a 3g/4g sim card. i went through the *#*#INFO#*#* menu and selected "WCDMA Preferred" then i turned radio OFF and ON back again. since then it is set to "WCDMA Preferred" only and i m unable to change it.. Is it because i have only 3g available in india..?? also will I be able to change to "GSM/WCDMA/LTE AUTO" when i come back to United States???
AT&T Samsung Galaxy SII SGT-I727 data issues fixed ...
I broke my old HTC Inspire. I purchased a Samsung Galaxy SII SGH-I727 off of the eBay as a replacement.
When I moved the SIM card over everything was fine, except I had no data, even though I have a valid data plan. I still had wireless at home, but my data plan did not work when out on the street.
I called AT&T, told them the issue, and that I suspected that it had something to do with "LTE". They made some internal changes, which sounded like they activated LTE service for me. Data plan now working perfectly.

Don't know if it's related but I've been dropping signal for about 5 days now. Doesn't matter what ROM or kernel. Think it's a T-Mo issue.

An APN is an Access Point Name. You can check your APN by going into Settings -> Wireless and network -> Mobile networks -> Access Point Names. The default one is T-Mobile US. If you select it it will display the settings for that particular APN. You can also create a new APN if you want/need.
We've been experiencing quite a bit of problems over the last couple of weeks here in Memphis, TN, too. T-Mobile bites at times.

[Q] LTE on CM10 tried everything

For some reason I cannot get LTE to work at all on CM10. I've done everything and it still wont work at all. I tried reverting back to stock rom, and when I did, LTE worked. So I thought if I went back to CM10 from stock it would resolve the issue, but it did not. I've checked my APNs and I cannot change the preferred network mode and i tried *#*#info#*#* and i can't change anything there to anything that has LTE on it. I'm not sure if it's just a problem with the ROM or what, but I've done plenty of researched, searched all the forums, and can't find anything that will fix.
Additional information:
Im in ATT
I've tried all the radios
and I AM in an LTE area.

Just making sure, but you know the LTE icon doesn't exist in cm10 , right? LTE is indicated by the 4g icon

Ok, try different apn. Which cm10 are you trying to use?
Does the problem happen on other ROMs? I'm not saying to use a different ROM, just saying that if it doesn't happen on, say, AOKP or Orthus (both CM-based), it's probably an issue with how CM10 is configured on your phone.
If you go into network operators (settings -network)and select att it will allow to change modes.

Haha yeah most of the time this setting is overlooked and this option enables you to turn off LTE if you want (which you don't have to have a RAT unlocked modem as presumed) and if you go to *#*#4636#*#* on your dialer you can have it set to LTE only as well.

I actually have another problem now, after a reboot, it doesn't show any options for me to choose under available networks?
it came back after a few tries but then went away again, it's not consistently there to choose.
Does it show a searching animation?

I have the exact same issues. I've done everything on this post plus done all the research as well. For my problem whenever I enter an LTE area my data service completely drops for about 5 seconds and then when it connects it only shows HSPA+. I have never been able to pick up LTE. When I was on CM9.1 I had no issues at all. LTE connected with no issues. So is this a CM10 issue or a phone issue?
try this, might help, might not, make a backup, if you have more than one apn, remove all apn's except your lte apn(ATT Pta, for rogers :ltemobile), restart phone
edit: of course make sure it was set to the lte apn in the first place, if it was and still have probs, do above procedure if you have more than one apn

For some reason my APN was not set to the lte one (ATT Pta). I changed it to that. Hopefully that fixes my problem. Thanks for the help!
I have a slightly different problem. I am running the latest cm10 nightly and notice that any time I get lucky and go into a 4g coverage area I can only make phone calls. No data transfers at all. I have my APN set to ATT LTE pta which I assumed is the right selection. Im normally in a A3g(HSPA)~700-17 coverage area. Is this the wrong APN to use?

Do you automatically switch back and fort from 3 to 4g with that APN setting when you move around without losing data capability?

Yup. I have HSPA/HSPA+ around my house but close to work I have LTE. No problem with switching or losing data connection when I go from HSPA to LTE. Just double check your APN settings. There might be a typo or some missing field. Or you can create a new APN for lte and use that as your default.

@26.2man, you've gotta have att provision you for lte at the store or whatever if you haven't done so already. Then it should work.

Took this from Wiki
A mobile device making a data connection must be configured with an APN to present to the carrier. The carrier will then examine this identifier to determine what type of network connection should be created, for example: what IP addresses should be assigned to the wireless device, what security methods should be used, and how or if, it should be connected to some private customer network
Makes sense, the APK is needed so you device can communicate it the carrier to determine which network your phone should connect with. Still not sure what the need is, for multiple APNs, but at least I understand now what there used for exactly. The past week, I've worked again in downtown Boston, and my phone had no issues with handing off from 3G to LTE. Unfortunately I can't say the same for when I'm at home about 4 miles away. Kinda sux really. I know this isn't the topic for this thread, but I'm just hoping Sprint fixes this Spark issue soon, cause it's extremely frustrating.
Anyway, for anyone who wants a bit more info on APNs, Judy check out the Wikipedia page.

Oxygen OS/CM12 T-Mobile IPv6 Issues

Whenever I switch my APN setting to IPv6, my days disconnects and refuses to work until I switch back to IPv4. I checked my wife's phone (G3) to see how she was getting LTE and I was getting 2G while we are sitting right beside each other and it was the different APN setting. Any one else having this issue or has found a solution?
I can also confirm this issue, data only works on IPv4.
