Is this normal?
On my Nexus S, running cyanogenmod9 kang by Taichi Nishimura:
every photo taked have a size of about 6/7 Mb; on GB the file was about 1/2 mb (same quality and resolution)
Anyone noticed that?

I was wondering if the mb size of the photo matters ?
Some roms I get pictures that are up to 2.0 mb. Some don't even reach 1.0 mb
And also some roms record in AVI (Unity Rom)
Some record in 3gp.
Do these formats / size matter in the quality.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I have noticed that the camera pictures have very low size 0.5 mb my old nokia e51 pictures were larger... I had one app I can't remember the name, the pictures quality were much greater.. So is there any app that can beat the stock app??

You shouldn't take the size of a picture as a reference for quality. It depends on many factors how big a file would be. Speaking from my experience a wide photo is bigger than a zoomed in photo because it has more details to take in, a photo in a brighter light gives a bigger size, a photo with a lots of details and colors also gives a bigger size. Plus technology is advancing at rapid pace so you can't compare cameras on different devices from different times.
As alternatives you can try something like: Camera FV-5 (emulates a DSLR with many of its functions) or you can try putting on a stock camera from LG Prada or LD O3D Max (normally to have these you must flash a ROM) or you can look at here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1502963 - a thread about camera mods on O3D
I also recommand some other apps that gives more functionality to the stock camera: Fast Burst Camera - takes like 100 shots in about 20 secs - good to make animated gifs, and Lapse It - an app that takes and wrap it up timelapse pictures into a movie.
When you focus with a camera and see a preview of the photo, it has a smaller size than the actual photo.
In other words a preview is cropped to maybe something like 90-95% of the actual photo.
As I understand this is a "feature" of a stock camera software, because Galaxy S4 with samsung tweaks don't have this problem.
Is there any way to make a preview size be equal to an actual photo size ???
Hello,
*I have isocell sensor but when i take a picture with the stock camera the size of the pictures is about 4-5 mb and when i take a picture with fv-5 app the size is almost doubled
like 9-10 mb
It is normal?
Maybe the stock camera is set to take photos with lower quality?
The fv-5 take better photos?
Someone help pls
Most likey set on a different resolution.
Hi all,
I just was filming for about an hour in dual-view when I stopped the recording it said 1 hour 13 but when i play it back it stops at 27 mins and the one file only had a size of 3.80 GB
Is this a default size limit? Any workaround for the size limit?
Thanks.
Not with the current OS file size limit.
