Desire hd getting official sense 3.0 - Thunderbolt General

I know they say that the Thunderbolt will never get sense 3.0. Take a look at this though. It appears that the Desire Hd is getting it. Considering they are so similar spec wise, I'd see no excuse to why HTC couldn't hook us up officially. http://phandroid.com/2011/12/09/htc-desire-hd-getting-android-2-3-5-and-htc-sense-3-0/

Who said that the Thunderbolt wasn't getting it? I heard speculation that it won't but never an official statement from HTC saying that we won't.

I never read anything official either. Although I've read that it was said the thunderbolt couldn't handle it. Obviously it can given all the badass ports we have. It will be interesting to see what Htc has in store if, and when there is a ics build for us.

Yes, I heard something like that too........ But we will just have to wait and see....
It might all depend on what new offerings and features the iPhone will have at that time.......

Question about stock Sense 3.0

Will this come to our phones without having to root? Finally got Gingerbread up and running and a few themes from a post to work but cannot find anything about Sense that doesn't include rooting

I don't think we will get sense 3.0. The devs port 3.0 over from other devices so I think rooting is the only way you can get it. Though it seems very confusing and overwhelming at first rooting is really very simple and opens your phone up to all kinds of possibilities you might want to give it a try
sent from my unity loaded inspire 4G
On the HTC Twitter page, they said it will eventually come to the other devices, but it won't be a full version because we don't have dual core processors. I have sense 3.0 after rooting my phone and it runs just fine, so that was upsetting to read.

Thanks for the update my buddy just rooted his and has sense 3.0 and said it runs fine so might have him do mine also.

Stick with sensation or amaze?

So I'm getting an amaze on Tuesday and I'm back and forth to keep it over my sensation here is my dilemma, obviously the amaze specs wise is a better phone there is no question faster data speeds which I seen from doing side by side test with my friends amaze, better camera, more storage, better front cam, NFC, bigger battery. Now most people by now are thinking its a no brainer, but there is a downside, there are very few devs on the amaze forum I'm back to sense 3.0, ics seems a bit farther from daily driver status no where near the sense tweaks are available. I'm really stumped because I made the mistake of letting my hd2 go before it got really good with all the Roms there are to flash now, android, wp7 etc, n I'm afraid to do the same with the sensation now since there is a lot of devs supporting this phone what do you guys think? Oh and also there is no s-off for the amaze the bootloader can be unlocked through HTC but no s-off.

Forgot to mention the amaze is kinda ugly and bulky compared to the sensation

No WIFI calling on Amaze yet, that is a shame too, t Mobile signal can be **** in my condo.
Amaze has that annoying kid, Revolution the kanger, he is a big reason I haven't checked out an Amaze.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
Lol that annoying kid? The devs are good actually but just not as much as far as I know xboarder, nrgz28, crackeyes, some guy from the epic forum and revolution, WiFi calling is no deal breaker because the devs already got it working on the amaze Roms actually and I also don't need WiFi calling I got 4g all the way from home to work and most areas I am usually at

How do you feel about sense?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
I like it it only leaves speed to be desired but some of the features it provides are quite useful I perfer it over cm7 or aosp. I always tend to like the manufacturers UI improvements I mean I bought a Samsung for touchwiz and a sensation for sense, that may change with ICS but I've yet to get a good taste of what ICS is like fully functioning

The Rezound is the successor to the Thunderbolt, if that's what you're asking.
The evo 3d I think is closer to the bolt

No, the Inspire isn't dual core.
Basically its AT&T's mock version of the Thunderbolt.
They even look the same.
It's very similar to the Desire HD, but I think the Inspire is more similar to the Thunderbolt.
The Inspire just doesn't have a front facing camera.

I don't know. The last time this discussion came up the consensus was the desire HD was the same. Just did some Googling and the thunderbolt has a better chip set than both of those phones. The others are 8255 Snapdragons and the thunderbolt is 8655. Could he a mistake on the website though.

I think this post hit it dead on. The Thunderbolt is a variant of the Desire HD with slightly better specs.
After playing with the inc2 for awhile, I felt it was the same as the Thunderbolt.

The Inspire and Thunderbolt both have more internal memory than the Desire HD.
I just think its more similar to the Thunderbolt.
In comparisons, the Thunderbolt and Inspire both come out over the Desire HD.
I could be wrong about it though.
I'm no developer. Lol.
Looking at the specs between the Desire HD and Inspire is definitely interesting.

They probably did it for marketing reasons. Hype up the newer phone to make people upgrade without them knowing its very close to what they already have. All about the money these days. HTC has a history of releasing 10+ phones at the same time and some if not all are pretty much the same phone. They just have different names, slightly different bodies, etc.
Granted these three phones were not released at the same time but pretty close.

That is true. The phones they make for multiple carriers tend to be that way. Its like they dont want consumers knowing their phone is the same as one for a different carrier. Samsung is smart enough to keep the same phone and make it work on all the carriers.

[Q]Forgotten about the inspire?

Is it just me or does it seem that the Inspire dev threads seem dead.... Im over in DHD all the time referencing things(cause they are almost identical devices). But maybe folks just say screw it and go to the DHD side since that where most of our dev starts? Idk. Random question/observation.
Yea inspire is almost dead...but DHD is still alive for some reason...
