tmobile version with international rom? - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

I'm really interested in upgrading my existing Galaxy tab 7", and want to get the tab plus. The problem is i use it as my primary phone and researched that the international version does have the calling features in the ROM but the frequency's are only available for AT&T.
Anybody know if there is a way to flash the international ROM to the t-mobile version and hopefully use the existing radio?

tmobile version is missing appopriate hardare and flashing any international ROM to a tmobile 7.0+ will brick it. please be advised.

great thx.. i guess im gonna stick with my old tab =\

The ROM has nothing to do with the hardware limitation of the radio. If the radio does not support a specific frequency , no matter what ROM you install if will still NOT be able to use that frequency.

[Q] What are the differences between the Rogers and the ATT version of the Infuse 4G?

Hi All,
I have just purchased the Samsung Infuse 4G as my new secondary device after my SGSII and I am wondering what the substantial differences are between the Rogers and the ATT version of this device, keeping in mind that I am in Canada and am on Rogers?
What ROMS CAN and CANT I flash? What Kernels CAN and CANT I flash?, etc, etc, etc...
Please advise as I used to have the Galaxy S I9000M (Canadian version of the International version) and I was able to flash International ROMS, etc... Can this be done on the Infuse 4G without losing my proper service bands, etc?
Thanks for the replies...

Im sorry but I dont understand wht you are trying to tell me. What is "Galaxy S lable" and what do you mean "Gingerbread that I know of"? If you mean that the ROGERS version already comes preloaded with Gingerbread 2.3.3 and NOT with Froyo 2.2.1 then that I already know.
Please advise...
Well the Canadian Infuse is a Galaxy S device and are is not even though it is the same device. So this just proves that Galaxy S is just a label.
and the android version. those seems to be just the major differences.

Thank You again for your reply Optimus but what I am really wondering is if I am able to flash "ATT based" custom ROMS, etc after I root and install CWM. I know the rooting proceedure for the ROGERS version of the Infuse 4G is different but is the actual "firmware"? Will I mess up the device by flashing it with ROMS created from ATT firmware, etc?
Does anyone know?
i dont think it would matter since we are running your roms on your phones. Gingerbread. but i mean you can always ultimate unbrick if something goes wrong. so its worth a try. and just a hint. att roms are froyo based
From what I can tell you,
We have Gingerbread 2.3.3 we do not have HDMI output. (Not a big deal for me).
Our video recording is a bit messed up (Recording at 15fps) but there is a fix now. Other than that there's not a huge difference.
Differences:
1) Cosmetics (that's what the other guy meant by "Galaxy S label") - no differences internally hardware-wise
2) Gingerbread bootloaders
Basically 2) means you can't flash old Froyo-based ROMs because no one bothered to make them compatible with the GB bootloaders - we focused on going the other way around. Our Gingerbread kernels are capable of working with Froyo or Gingerbread bootloaders.
Any ROM you might want to flash is based on your stock firmware currently, since official AT&T Gingerbread isn't out yet. Samfirmware claims it's officially out on Kies, but Kies refuses to connect to our phones so I call BS.

Is there a 4.0 Stock International ROM or Firmware

My boss gave me his galaxy s2 skyrocket to flash
i was originally running JB 4.1 on a custom rom, but i tried like 2 roms and they were to buggy for him and not stable
so since i couldnt find a really stable JB 4.1
hes asked to see if i can find the 4.0 Firmware of this phone but for the INTERNATIONAL version
I wasn't even aware the Skyrocket had a international version
What do you guys think
?
Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE comes in:
ATT: SGH-i727
T-Mobile: SGH-T898
Rogers: SGH-i727R
International: GT-I9210/T
ATT & Rogers are easily interchangable, the Hercules (SGH-T898) may need a little tweaking to get it working right but not too sure on the international version, I've heard people flashing the international version with CM9 for the SR but haven't heard of anyone flashing the International version of ICS to the SR.
The hardware is identical with only difference being the CPU Model# which is the same CPU they used on the T-Mobile version (APQ8060) vs (MSM8260).
Really its best to flash only the ROMs that are made for your phone but if the hardware is similar you can probably do it but I don't see why you want to.
If he wants he can use AT&T stock, CM9 or a custom ROM.
Does he want something from the international version of ICS?
Remember using a different ROM for a different phone you will need to have a different Modem and may have a chance to brick so only do at your own risk.

He wants international so he can get be able to Text in Chinese etc etc
When I upgraded him to 4.1 the Chinese stuff was all good to goo
Had issues getting it to work on 4.0, the text would come out in Chinese, but the receiver would get a bunch of symbols, like i said upgrading to 4.1 fixed this, i think 4.1 and more languages or something
Thats why he wants international, he travels a lot as well so its convenient.

I've flashed several phones with several roms, I have my own Galaxy S3 running perfect on a AOKP rom
When i flashed my bosses phone I did the usual, wipe data/ dalvik / factory reset / flash rom
First ROM i used was Superlite, phone would go black and would require force shut off, this would happen randomly during idle or something or overnight
So i switched to SKYJB 5.0
no more screen hanging up black but got screen flickering issues, so i went into dev options and checked the H/W option..
as of now he took the phone back since he said that was the real issue.
Which rom would you recommend that runs very stable?
things have changed, like i said all new cm10 are stable, well mine is which is superlite v7.0, but that one has no chinese support, but superheavy does, cm10 is 4.1
as for international, he just has to worry about the radio and apns
So which CM10 would you suggest? specifically

not a good question to ask on this forum, "which is best", read the individual rom threads and see which ones would suit your/his needs, but since i only use my rom, then superheavy should fulfill his needs, its posted on my sig for superlite

I'm about to flash your Superheavy rom. I believe i might be on a custom kernel, could you point me a stock kernel or kernal that runs great on your rom? Thanks

[Q] Samsung Note 2 / Vodafone LTE issue on custom ROM

Hi,
First time posting, long time reading.
Having issues getting LTE/4G access on my Samsung Note 2 on the Vodafone network in Australia. I am currently running Hashchcek v2.5 ROM on 4.1.2, have a baseband of N7105TDVALK2 and using saberkernel.
According to Vodafone the baseband version N7105TDVDMB2 should have been pushed out with their update to 4.1.2 to allow LTE access.
Does anyone know how I go about getting this latest baseband or getting LTE as a network mode option?
Do I need to obtain the latest CSC/modem and flash with that? If so does anyone know where I can get this from? I have had a good look around and can only find the old Vodafone CSC which I am currently using. Can I just use the Telstra Baseband?
Or am I way off and someone can point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Tried this

Installed the following and so far so good. Not in a 4G area ATM but will update once I have done some more testing. So far the 3G speed tests are noticeably better.

[q] s4 i337m Telcel 4.3

Hi guys, i just recently upgraded from a SGS 2 Skyrocket T-mobile rooted running KitKat 4.4.2
to a SGS 4 I337m running android 4.3 from the mexican company Telcel (I´m living in Mexico)
The s4 is now rooted and running CWM v6.0.4.7
I generally didn´t have any problems installing custom roms for the S2 since most were highly compatible with the model
but I´m having a HARD AND CONFUSING time deciding what roms are compatible with my mexican(telcel) s4 since on the descrpitions for
most roms they only mention compatability to models like (AT&T, Tmobile, Canadian and its variants)
I understand that the Canadian model is also I337m and At&T is I337so my question is
IF I install a rom designed for the Canadian model I337m, shouldn´t it also be compatible for my Mexican Telcel I337m???
if so, then whatever issue should arise in the future which I hope does not happen, Can i simply rely on the tutorials for the Canadian model or perhaps??
(obviously if I somehow softbrick this phone I´m not going to use canadian firmware but the one available for my region)
NOTE: I have looked all over to and read forums but I just can´t get a specific answer, please help!
and I dont want to test it all out on my own because the last thing I wanna do is Damage the phone THANKS!!

I can tell you that I have flashed the Canadian Rogers ROM I337MVLUFNC1 from Sammobile (flash instructions are included in Sammobile's webpage) and it works perfectly fine with Telcel's i337m. I have used it with Telcel's 4G network and Movistar's 3G network with no issues at all.
I should warn you that I have only used ROM I337MVLUFNC1 , there are two newer ROMs from Rogers that I have not tried. After installing Roger's ROM, you can continue to root as you did with your original Telcel ROM.
Cheers

Can you flash any custom ROM ?

Hello
I was wondering if I could flash galaxy S 3 international version with any carrier specific custom rom like Verizon /at&t etc and vice versa. I see there are many ROMs which aren't available for international variant but for some carrier.
I know there must be some carrier differences and little other small security patches, but does that mean I can use any ROM or I would face problems like glitches/soft brick etc?
I know in Sony, HTC it is not a problem but how about Samsung ?

I wouldn't even attempt to flash a rom that's meant for a Verizon phone for an international S3. The phones are similar yes but they are different in so many ways. You could hard brick your phone if you attempt to flash a rom that's not meant for your phone

There are a few good threads on XDA for porting roms. Porting between Verizon and international shouldn't take to long. As long as you stay in the s3 family most of the porting is copy past stuff.
