OK I've seen it suggested in a couple threads but no one has outright confirmed this as far as I can find: Before I pull the trigger on the purchase of the Transformer can someone confirm if the primary battery in the tablet is or is not trickle charged from the docks/keyboard's battery when connected? Or does the battery on the dock only provide power to the system to keep it running?
I'm prob going to get the system anyways but it will determine if I get the dock now vs. later.
Thanks folks and again if there was a thread I didn't see it.
The battery in the Dock is charging the Tablet. When the Tab is under 90% and its docked you can see the charging sign on the Tab and the percents are going up.
Sorry for my bad (austrian) english

Hi.
Sry for my bad english. Hope you can understand anyway.
I got a Jumpad 10,2" 3g for christmas. What i can understand is this a copy of the Flytouch 3 pad.
It has everything the Flytouch has. Only 1 USB port on the outside, but i did found a second one when i opened it up
Anyway.
The thing i can find that is different is the battery. Its a 3600mah battery.
I found a 8000mah upgrade battery for the Flytouch 3. But, its a 5V battery. I have 9V.
My question is, can i install the upgrade battery and buy a 5V charger? Or is the hole system based on 9V?
I cant see if my battery is 9V but my charger is, and i guess that the battery is that to if the charger is?
I did just order a class 10 8gb memorycard that im going to replace the internal card with. Hope that i can speed it up a bit. Am also going to try to flash flash with a Flytouch 3 custom rom and see if it works hehe.
Hope you guys can answer my question and that it will work. Would be awsome if it do
No one? :/
I was wondering if anyone uses any of those emergency charger... What do you think is the best one to pair up with the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity? I was thinking of getting Sanyo's Eneloop Mobile Booster.Any more suggestion?

I've used them on phones before, but not one for my tf700 yet. Hope to soon once some options are out there that have been proven. I like choices.
I purchased the ZaggSparq 2.0 (it was on sale for 50% off a couple weeks ago):
http://www.zagg.com/accessories/zaggsparq.php
It is $100, but I got it for $50. I haven't actually tried it yet, but I'll give it a go tonight and report back.

how did it go?
Check out my review/mod for the Anker battery. On Amazon for $59 and it works wonders, can be used for all sorts of devices.

I use the Anker® Astro2 Dual USB Output 8400mAh External Battery Pack. The original transformer power supply uses a variable charger I believe that uses up to 12v/2.1 A to charge your device (it uses the max when your tablet has low battery life and less when it is near capacity).
My device is limited to 5V on either the 600mAmp or 2 Amp USB port. The tablet does not show itself as charging though when I use the device but my anker device blinks to show that it is charging. I turned my tablet off and left the charger in and the tablet gained a couple of percentage points of battery life after a few minutes.
I didn't know that the larger version could do 9 and 12V, feel like a bonehead for not checking. I got the 8400mAH version because I only wanted my charger to be about the size of my phone at max size otherwise I feel that the portability of the device is compromised (only have so much room in my pockets/bags).
If anyone else understands how charging works, I'd appreciate it if they could explain to me how using only 5v/2Amps would affect my TF700 infinity battery. Thanks.

Unfortunately 5v just isn't enough voltage to trigger charging (9v/2a isn't even enough). How long have you had your battery? Amazon has a good return policy, might be able to send it back.

Thanks for confirming. Sucks I bought the wrong one but at least the alternative is only a few bucks cheaper.
Welp, the Zagg Sparq 2.0 isn't even recognized on the tablet or with the dock. :/ Seems there's not enough output.
It works fine for my Samsung Galaxy S III, though.

I'm checking out solutions for mobile battery packs that are compatible with the Tf700. I've just purchased a veho pebble 13,200mah battery (link below if it let's me)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=0SZEM38A0PCXEMC434RR
While it didn't come with the right adaptor I figured I could work out the various connections. The problem is I've realised it's 16V whereas the original charger is 16v so the question is EVEN if I manage to figure out the connections, would using 16v potentially damage the tablet?
Thoughts appreciated

If it puts out true 16v then it could damage the Infinity. Measure the output voltage of the power pack with a multimeter.
The battery pack that I bought for the TF700 is the Anker Astro3 10000mAh. It has switchable output 5V / 9V / 12V. The TF700 will charge at 12v (car voltage). There was a brief discussion a couple of months ago about battery packs and what you will need:

I went this route using these USB adapter. Works well. You can use the tablet and phone on it at the same time; I was using my cellphone as a hotspot.
Thanks for the replies, I had already seen that post but I was hoping to be able to answer the 16v question as I had read in other places that 15v should be okay with 16v. I was hoping to get confirmation either way from someone know knew lots about electronics and voltage.
The main reasons for this are 1) I already have the battery 2) it's a brand I know and trust 3) It has a bigger capacity. However I'm a bit reluctant to using my tablet as an experiment so it's looking increasingly likely I'll have to return the veho pebble and pick up the Anker one.
Out of interest how long does it take to charge the Anker? From what I understand the input is only 5v so I'm guessing it's a good 6-8 hours? Also how long does it take to care the tablet itself?
Thanks
The first charge takes the longest, which is probably in that eight hour range. I haven't ran the Anker dead yet. I usually charge it back up after I used it, so it's fully changed whether dead or just a little. But it's a few hours.
The tablet takes about three hours or so from completely dead, assuming it's off. You can charge the tablet back up on the Anker.
I don't know about much on the electricity. I'm sure the tablet has a regulator of some sort, but couldn't say if 16v in would fit with in it or not.
There other larger battery packs like Anker. The problem is most don't have a way to put out the amps needed to register a charge for the tablet. Most just have USB ports, and limit the output to the normal .5mha that work with 90% or other usb devices.
Hi anyone know of a Powerbank that has enough juice to charge Tab S 8.4 while at the same time using it?
I have tried some power banks and the Tab drains faster than charging
Look for the anker astro E3 10000mAh at amazon.com, it's about 26 bucks
I want to recommend the RAVPower® 14000mAh!
Using romoss power bank, 10k mah. Cost around$ 20
I would recommend one of the Ruinovos power banks that use standard 18650 batteries, see this one, for example, http://www.fasttech.com/product/1340304-ruinovo-401-1a-2-1a-4-18650-dual-usb-mobile-power
Try get the Xiaomi powerbank, 10400 Mah and costs quite cheap. i think it's around $10-12

I recommend LimeFuel battery packs if you want something with at least 80% usable MAH. The electronics in a battery pack take power to run. From what ive read, LimeFuel battery packs have at least 80% "efficiency."
24000MAH
15600 MAH
There may be other offerings with that 80%+ efficiency, but LimeFuel was the only brand i could find 6 months ago.
I had and tested a lot of batteries, and I can tell that the Xiaomi Powerbank is a cheap but working product. However, if you want to have a high quality battery that charges every USB device at fullspeed, look at the 2nd Gen Anker Astro3.
I got this one and it is great! Charges fast, and enough to give you a full charge

Been using Xiaomi for 3 days now, its 10400mah but it cant fully charge your Tab S when in use. The most I got was just an additional 30% of battery usage. This is surfing, youtube, facebook and gmail. Still happy since its cheap but was surprise it couldn't fully fill the battery despite it being 2x the battery capacity.
I do have this dilemma now about the powerbanks with the tab S. I'm using a 10.5 and now after searching thoroughly I can't find any that's legitimately compatible with the tab S and of course the 8.4 and the 10.5 should be the same when it comes to powerbanks. Even checked the Samsung 9000mah and it's compatibility, the tab s isn't on the list whereas the notes are and older tablets, so I'm stuck in this problem and very paranoid as I love this tablet and I don't wanna get just any brand that will work, I don't want it to mess up my tablet and affect any of its function. I'm not so good with the technical details about the volts and inputs and outputs, maybe someone out there could enlighten me with this cause I need help. I'm currently eyeing a romoss 10000mah powerbank but it doesn't state it's full compatibility and I'm skeptical about getting it. Any help and findings would be deeply appreciated. I need to get a powerbank for my tab S 10.5 and don't know what to get as all this compatibility seems so vague and there seems to be no legitimate answer. Why couldn't Samsung include the tab S or even make powerbanks for specific models that would work and the tab S is left out because it didn't sell good due to wrong timing but a great device. If anyone could help because I need a powerbank asap.

Hi I would suggest this one as it has the same output as official samsung charger: Amazon
and currently its 70% off and has 14,000 mah capacity BUT it does say not compatible with samsung Tab series but I really don't believe that...
- Output1 : DC 5.3V / 2100mA and DC5.3v / 1000mA

I think I will buy one of them myself for my HTC One M8 and will test it on Tab S and let you know :good:
Would appreciate that thank you. For the moment I'm looking at Samsung power banks and still sketchy as it doesn't say it's compatible with the tab S on the website, it's just stressful that there's no straight answer about the compatibility with the tab S, and even others say Universal, what does that really mean if you place that In a spectrum? Nothing specific about it.

Chatted with Samsung and no luck but anyway I've finally got one, the Samsung 9000mah seems to be the most reliable one and on Android central it's listed for the tab S so I'll just stick with that, just ordered it and now my mind is at ease. I'll let you guys know how it works once I get it.
