Hey team,
Does anyone have.the default build.prop settinings? My battery life has been wonky so I want to confirm those against a stock build
Here is the stock build.prop. Unzip it.
You can push it to /system or open it and just read the settings.

So I rooted and Flashed a new Rom. I flashed CoreDroid I also Flashed LeeDroid Patch for the Color mod. It works great, but I have one Problem. When I open Root Explorer I wont give me read write in the Build.prop. I want to do the tweaks that are out., but I cant. I have tired to uninstall and reinstall the app, but still no luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Firstly, this should have been posted in the Q&A section as your issue really is neither an app nor a theme! Your issue is you are having trouble editing the build.prop. Secondly, make two back ups of your build.prop and make your edits to one of the back ups. Then copy and paste to /system making sure to overwrite the original, reboot and you're done.
So ive been trying to edit the systemui.apk for my sensation and i have the stock tmous one that is from 2.3.4 and it is set for the 4G icon by default but has no advanced quick settings, im trying to add the advanced quick settings to the apk and im not sure what to add i tried adding the quick_settings.xml when i do that and flash it the phone wont boot, Any ideas what i can do, i dont want the modded systemui.apk with the filenames changed for the 4G so im trying to modify this one and add quick settings to it. If someone can tell me how to edit the systemui.apk that would be awesome so i know what im doing.
Thanks in advance!
I had My Wildfire rooted(CM7 Nightly Rom).
By default System folder doesnt have build.prop file. i extracted the build.prop from the rom and pasted with few changes.
for eg. default ringtone to Rigel.ogg(orginal config Playa.ogg)
But my phone isn't changing Playa.ogg(Default) to Rigel.ogg
What i concluded is andorid is not reading the build.prop file
any suggestion?
Thanx

Idk if I'm right , but since by default it has no build.prop that means it won't read that file .
Forever living in my Galaxy Ace using XDA App
So can u please tell me how to make my Phone read the configuration mentioned in build.prop??
Hmm, wich nightly do you have?
CyanogenMod-7-Nightly-buzz
My only tip is make sure you are using a plain text exitor like notepad or notepad++ because otherwise the formatting can stop the roms from working.
Thanks for your reply..
actually i figured it out myself.
"Build.prop only works at the time of flashing"
I flashed my wildfire with updated build.prop and it reflected the changes that i made.
my real motive was to use timescape widget with Arc launcher.
can you guide me with this.
Hi,
Is there a possibility to change (increase) max in-call volume through build.prop or any other file or system setting ?
And by the way, any idea where to find a list of build.prop settings ? I mean the defaults since build.prop entries only overwrites the one located elsewhere.
you want default one? you can extract it from official RUU.
or you want list of tweak?
I will check this, thanks. And I don't need a list of tweaks, just a list of every possible settings

Added apks to be replaced. Should work.
here is mine i would like to share if you want, the framework and the system ui is from stock rom, so meaning when you flash this you will lose status bar transparency(back to stock, i happened to like it better as i noticed its faster when dropping down) and some icons reverted to stock also like the ringtone slider when you adjust volume through volume keys/button(no big deal though because again i like the stock icons giving you feel of its originality) before flashing it is recommended to do a backup so just in case you want to revert back just reboot to recovery select backup and restore and select advanced restore, then just select restore system, no need to restore the whole rom :good: enjoy :highfive:
