Facebook Notification Fix!

I think I have found a way to fix the notifications section of the Facebook app. Please try your selves and let me know.
With already being logged into your Facebook account on the phone. Go into the settings and then to applications. Go to manage applications and hit the menu key and select "filter" and then "ALL" then go to the Facebook application and clear data. then go back to the Facebook and sign in and all your notifications should start loading no more errors.
Please let me know if this works for you guys and good luck!
if you read the facebook thread, this solution has been out for a couple days now. Thanks for looking out though

Facebook user photos not appearing

Okay I did some searches to make sure this wasn't posted before but no real solutions were found.
I recently just flashed the Continuum ROM on my Captivate and for some reason I cannot get Facebook photos to apply themselves to my contacts like it would before. If I view the contact individually, it shows their photo but if I call them or text them, it just shows the generic android photo. Any solution to this?
Thank you.
I also faced the same problem after flashing Cognition but only one time.
I removed the Facebook Account from "Applications -> Settings -> Accounts and Sync" and added it back . That worked for me.

Sent from my HTC ChaCha A810e using XDA App
In Facebook:
Privacy Settings > Apps and Websites (Settings) > Click on HTC Chacha > Remove Access Facebook Chat.
You will never be able to log in into facebook chat from FB chat widget but you can use the chat from FB application.
This is permanent and you can restore it back by deleting FB account from your HTC chacha and add it again.

Much more battery life you will notice if you disable sync of stocks, news, weather. The rest change the sync schedule to once or twice per day or even manually.
But for the record FB chat widget is a battery drainer especially if you use it to chat constanly.

This worked, but now the Fb Chat app force closes every so often. Anyone know a solution, short of rooting?

used in conjunction with stopping facebook chat on chacha on website should sort the force closing out
Simply just go to the menu > Fb Chat > press the menu button > Go offline. done?

[Q] How to Stop HTC Calendar Synching Facebook Events

Hi guys,
My Facebook calendar events, including birthdays, keep getting displayed in my HTC calendar. Is there anyway to stop this?
I have tried the following:
1) Settings - Accounts and Sync - Facebook for HTC Sense - Sync Calendar (unticked)
2) HTC Calendar - Settings - Apply Settings to - untick facebook
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.
Try launching the calendar app ; you have an arrow pointing down on the top right corner of the screen. Click on it, untick Facebook. It should do the trick...

That is also my suggestion, too bad I only read it now after I have searched for so long.
Is there anybody who knows how I can get my facebook contact out of the list when I choose telephone. I managed to get them out of my contacts but thats probably a different list...
Thanks!
You mean all your Facebook friends show up in your contacts list? I believe that is something you can fix in the Facebook app settings : you have to set it so that it synsmcs only with your contacts with a phone number. You can also set it to not sync at all, if that suits you better.

I did that and it works when I go to my contacts list. The problem is that when I choose the telephone button there is a different, bigger list and there they all are..
launch the android facebook app then keep hitting the back button until you get to the page where it says notification at the bottom, click the menu button then settings, at the very bottom where it says other settings select that and choose don't sync then close the app. If your facebook contacts still appear on your phone then you have to go to menu>>settings>>Accounts and sync, then delete all facebook accounts. Launch the facebook android app again and re-enter your user ID and password. Do the same for the friend stream widget if you use that. This should erase all facebook contacts from your phone.

Facebook Contacts - not wanted

hi all,
I read many forums regarding my issues, but none of them helped..
after I installed fb and adding my account in the "phone" dialler (top left icon) all my fb contacts there, even I unchecked sync...
thanks a lot,
ric
Hi,
I had the same problem and I resolved it after a long time of research.
To resolved this problem, you must reset your phone and choose "manual sync" and when you have the opportunity to add your facebook id, you skip this. When you have finished the configuration, launch facebook application and enter your id.
..
hi,
could you tell me step by step?
newbie for android
thanks a lot!
instead of wiping the phone, Go to settings > apps > all apps
Find contact storage and clear data. (This will delete all contacts so make sure they are backed up, Gmail usually does this automatically but make sure)
also, find facebook and clear data for that too..
This will remove all facebook contacts too.
Simply log back into facebook and select dont sync with contacts, And get your normal contacts back from gmail...
worked for me
ace! this is the solution...
although I had to do it again after the fb update.. what a [email protected] btw ...

you could just deactivate the facebook contacts in the contact menue so you dont see them... guess thats the easier way, just tap the top left corner and there you can select it

Does not work for the SMS part. Facebook contacts still appear in quickfinder.
It is a nuisance. I don't use fb, but when I went to log my wife in, it transfered all of her contacts!! Yuk! Had to erase them all...
sent using HTC1S
I F'in HATE this!! Facebook get out of my life!!
i still cant get them off my phone,, I have wipe all contacts, all facebook, all people apps i have deactivated autosync. selected DO NOT SYNC CONTATCS.
re activated autosync. They just re appear.
i fking hate this ****. i have about 100,000,000,000,000,000,000(approx) contacts in my phone..
If you only log to facebook through the browser, then you wouldnt turn the mobile fb app, and it wouldn't sync, right?
Thank god I don't have a facebook page!
sent using HTC1S
its a ball ache using the browser tho
especially when you have the app lol
Can you go in the application itself to get rid of the sync feature?
I had a nightmare transferring myillions of gmail contacts from one phone to another only to realise that they had been duplicated soany times I ended up with about 10.000 of them! Eventually afte doing some manual work and using some of the phone's features I ended up with the contacts I need and backed them up in 2 places toake sure....
sent using HTC1S
yes inside the app there is an option to not sync contacts..
but even if i select that, they still sync.. if i delete them, they just resync even if i uncheck it in facebook and settings.
its really pissing me off
