[Q] HTC Amaze Quicksense and Ice cream sandwich - General Questions and Answers

Hi sorry if this is a way noob question. If I flash my HTC Amaze to the quicksense ROM, what happens when HTC releases the Ice Cream Sandwich for the Amaze? Will I still be able to update my phone to that?
Any help appreciated, thanks!

you cant do it OTA, when the release comes out you have to get the stock rom and flash it
or wait for a dev to make a rom which probably wont take long.
and you should have posted this in the htc amaze section, just saying

[Q] What rom???

hello and happy new years to all.
i just bought the sensation phone from craigslist, but im trying to find out what rom was installed on it. the phone is rooted but cant tell with what? Basically im trying to install the sensation xe w/beats instead.
Can some one please help me out on this...
go to menu settings about phone. sometimes it will tell you the rom in there
otherwise if your going to flash a new rom you dont need to know what one you have. just erase it and flash a new one
how do you delete it, and by any chance, do you know the link were the sensation xe is located?
sorry...to be a pest
it really depends on what you want. if you want gingerbread or ICS or the developer. most of them come with the XE beats audio. and to do this you need to flash a recovery
read here to get a recovery and making sure you have SuperCID,Unlocked,Rooted, and clockworkmod
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
then from there it depends on what kind of rom you would prefer. i would recommend Android Revolution HD for gingerbread or Virtuous Sensless for Ice Cream Sandwich.
please read the entire post in the link before trying anything.
thanks, i will try it....

Sensation 4G rooted but can't update .

Hello everyone ,my 4G is rooted but it gives me some update and i cant update it ....
what are the steps to update from
Android Ver.
2.3.4
Soft number 1.45.531.1
is it safe to update and will I be able to use the phone still rooted ...
Since you're Rooted you CANNOT do updates unless you flash stock recovery back but there's no point of updating since you can flash a Ice Cream Sandwich ROM which have much better battery, speed(on the new ones)Happy Flashing man
how to do this ???
Google "htc sensation RUU"
sent from my Sensation
ThaPirato talks about much better speed ,battery save .... this rom you suggest is not giving this options ,please point me to the best rom for speed and battery save.
what you suggest was :

tnx for reply and i wait for your answer
You should flash a bynch of roms and see what works for you. Not just what others say.
sent from my Sensation
In my opinion, I would give the following ICS roms a try.
Elegancia - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1429953
ARHD - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849
InsertCoin - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1198684
I have tried all 3 and love them all, and they get regular updates. But at the end of the day, it's all down to personal opinion.
So just try a few different roms until you find one you like.
If you do a Nandroid backup (which you should always do anyway), you can always revert to your previous rom, if you don't like it.

[Q] Help with HTC Amaze 4G ICS Stock ROM

Why hello XDA folks. My name is Kyralik, and I have a VERY SIMPLE QUESTION that nobody seems to want to help me with. I'm going to save the sob story for another day.
I have a T-Mobile HTC Amaze 4G which I have unlocked using the Amaze All In One Kit by Hasoon2000: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493905
I am looking to replace my Stock T-Mobile Sense ROM with the VANILLA Ice Cream Sandwich ROM, a completely clean un-modified ICS 4.0.x ROM. My Amaze is currently running ICS 4.0.3 with Sense 3.6; again, the main purpose of this is to REMOVE SENSE UI, because I dislike it, and I'm a fan of the minimalism in ICS stock.
To recap, I have an HTC Amaze 4G, unlocked but not yet rooted, with ICS 4.0.3 and Sense 3.6. I would like to replace this ROM with a clean ICS 4.0.whatever. I have a Mac and a PC, access to USB, internet, all the standard stuff.
IF YOU CAN HELP ME ACCOMPLISH MY TASK, OR EVEN COME CLOSE, I WILL TRY TO HELP YOU AS BEST AS I CAN WITH ANY OF YOUR XDA-RELATED ISSUES.
