[Q] Failed Radio Flash - HTC Sensation

Hi there xda.
Had my sensation For about 5 days now, coming from a desire (rooted/cmr2 pat table/s-off).
I thought I had it all worked out, flashed the sensation with hypersensation, all good; flashed a new splash screen with android flasher, all good.......
Then I followed this thread
[RADIO][24 Nov 2011] HTC Sensation Radios [PG58IMG.zip]
Click to collapse
to flash a new radio. The md5s matched, the radio was acknowledged in the bootloader and the update finshed all complete but now im stuck at the splash screen?
So I tried a newer radio with the radio.img and android flasher, still stuck at splashscreen..............gutted!
I can still get into bootloader/fastboot and recovery and the info on my bootloader screen states:
Revolutionary
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.17.1111
RADIO-11.15.3504.16_M
eMMC-boot
What have I done wrong?
Anyones help would be greatly appreciated.
******MASSIVE EDIT******
Just reinstalled the hypersensation rom from scratch and it boots now?
Just so that I havent wasted a new thread and for future reference, does the rom need to be reinstalled after a radio flash on the sensation? I certainly havent come across any posts stating so. Like I said, the only android phone experiance Im bringing to the sensation with me is from the desire, and radios on that thing were a snitch.
So.... sorry to the forum moderator, please feel free to delete this.

No this is a common problem.. when you reinstalled the Rom you probly wiped cache and dalvik. That is all you needed to do.

Thanks for the advice.
Just a note, after I'd reflashed the rom, the phone would reboot of its own accord every 10 mins or so.
So I restored the modded stock rom image I took from straight after revo, same problem even after restore?
Went and did an RUU update with the official euro HTC rom, all ok, re did revolution and root, flashed back to hypersensation, all now ok again, no more reboots?
I think I may need to read up some more about the radio procedure with the sensation, seems to be not so straight forward.
But if anyone else suffers from the same issue, at least this answers out there.

but wanted to ask before I procced is any problem that my HTC Sensation 4G T-Mobile is Unlocked and I am using it in Europe (Albania) should I use a different RUU or the original one will be Fine...last question
If you're returning it to STOCK then you use the one it came with. However, if you're not sending it back to TMOUS (which I don't think you are) then you could just flash the EU 1.50.401.1 RUU

Hello,
I'm a complete noob.
My sensation 4G has decided to stop working. (HTC start up screen loops) I sent my phone to HTC but they want to take all my money. Phone repair guy says it just needs new software update, but wont do it for me. SO Ive tried flashing ROMs but it seems I dont have the correct ones. Some have CID error, some have MID error. Is this the right thing to do?
I really need to find a ROM that is compatible with my phone. I dont need anything fancy, just one that will let me text people and maybe even make a call. :crying:
I have unlocked using HTC dev.

current image version 3.32.531.14
Radio 10.14.9035.01_M

MID PG5811000
I dont know if this info helps.
Does anybody have any idea what I can do to get this thing working again?
Thanks

Thanks for the response.
Yes I installed 4EXT recovery and can get into it. I have tried following some guides to get S-OFF but they always fail. Which S-OFF method should I use?
pohh Maybe you should try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195902 for me worked as a charm hope for you as well try searching some guide how to flash custom ROM you should use a SSD memory card reader, and you should try to find a guide to install e recovery app something like that " http://www.xda-developers.com/android/super-utility-for-the-htc-sensation-4g-and-xe/ " " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668276 " have a try and hope will go everything toa good end

[Q] Continuous boot loop. Need assistance

Ok, so I've literally just bought the HTC Sensation. It was on 2.3.4 stock and I wanted to update to ICS. Unfortunately the ICS OTA update wasn't coming up for me so I decided to try do it myself
What I've done is S-OFF using the revolutionary tool (nothing else), then downloaded this stock ICS ROM, which supposedly is installed differently from other roms. Followed the instructions, and when it finished it gave me a 'ModelID' problem. I tried booting up anyway and now when my phone gets to the 'HTC, quietly brilliant' screen it plays half the splash audio and reboots, this is all it does continuously.
As instructed by that thread for people who got the ModelID problem I changed the ModelID variable in notepad, rezipped and tried the process again. Now it just loads up the FW, gets to 'parsing file' and goes straight back to the main bootloader screen.
Can anyone help me out? I really hope I'm now not left with an expensive paperweight
If it helps Bootloader now says

Hi,
Have a good read of THIS THREAD
It should help you out.
Thanks. What I gather from that thread is basically I need to flash back to stock.
I'm sorry for being a noob here but as I don't have Clockwork recovery etc is this going to be OK to do?
Do I need to superCID to flash back to stock? Do I need to root? I'm also not 100% sure on what ROM to download. I was a fool and didn't check versions before I flashed. It was 2.3.4 on 02 UK.
Most guides seem to explain how to flash custom ROM's but I'm not sure how much of that applies to me.
Again, apologies for the basic questions. I just want to ensure I don't want to mangle it anymore than it has and most answers I've found assumes other things have been done other than just S-OFF
Right now I'm trying to install clockwork mod, I've downloaded it, renamed it to PG58IMG, put it in my SD but HBOOT doesn't find anything to install/update.. Can I just superCID and then run the RUU_xxxx.exe to get back to stock?
Find my post in general will help you out I will bump it for you

Phew! Managed to get back to stock! Used the .exe for 02 UK.
However, now I'm installing ICS. I got into the boot loop again as I assume this is due to not updating the FW. I updated the FW to the one suggested and I'm downloading a different ICS stock ROM to install now.
If this does fail, or I need to get back to 2.3.4, what firmware would I download to back to original?
If you flash the.correct fw u shouldnt have any issues. U need to be supercid as well

Thanks all, now running ICS stock, fully rooted, superCID and S-OFF.
I tried to 'Thank' a couple of you but I don't think my post count is high enough.
So I'm still not 100% sure, what FW would I flash it back to if I needed to send it back on my insurance/warranty? Anyone know what the 'stock' would have been for an 02 UK HTC Sensation? (not beats). I'm such a fool for not checking these things beforehand.

Hi,
To get back to stock, you can flash hboot 1.17 HERE
I have also got THIS RUU for O2 UK.
I simply went to this thread (after reading so many others) and this was by far the easiest way to get ICS in my opinion.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542192
Hope that helps you
If you flashed the stock o2 UK RUU then you can't use the unbranded ICS OTA to get ICS. You have to wait on o2 to push the update for their FW version

Radio + Wifi not turning on, probably something simple

My brother bought a Sensation, the guy who had it had done everything but S-CID, so I S-CID. The guy had ICS Revo HD, he loaded GB Revo HD. I went back to ICS, but I don't have radio or wifi. I tried a few roms like stock Revo HD but nothing. I tried a few kernels but nothing. I know its something simple.
Pretty sure all I have to do is install RUU ICS and it will fix the issue (correct me if I am wrong). But I have to wait 2-3 hours to finish downloading RUU ICS, is there a faster way I can fix this issue?
woops just realized I posted in the wrong sections. Sorry, please move.

I did some digging and found the following.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
I downloaded the first link for Tmobil 3.32, installed it, same issue.
Do I also download and install Others 1 and Others 2?
I installed the latest RUU and I still have no Radio or Wifi.
Do I need to install something else?
I installed GB RUU, I had no radio or wifi. I then allowed GB to upgrade to ICS, still no Radio or Wifi. I installed the 3.32 firmware, still no radio or wifi!
I currently have 4.0.3 sense 3.6 3.32.531.14 710rd

I have tried everything I can think of and been all over the forum. I need help.
Doesn't anyone have a solution for me? I tried searching but have found no useful information. It's not the firmware, it's not the rom, its not the radio, so what is the problem??
I can't find a RUU that has ICS.
What to do?
Same here.
I´ve tried nearly every Rom/Radio/Kernel Combination.
Even testet a few JB Roms and RUU.
Since my Sensa XE made an update to ICS 2 Month ago
there is no chance to get WIFI work again.
With JB it worked fine.
Same with BT.
I´ve unlocked with HTC Dev and Revolutionary S-OFF.
Still hoping for a Fix or Help.
cu
The only thing I have not tried is a RUU that has ICS. I found RUU with GB, but I recent;y found one that is ICS. Before I found the ICS RUU, I downloaded the GB RUU, installed it, and allowed it to update to ICS, but that did not fix my issue. I'm hoping that if I flash it in fastboot, might just fix it.
If it does I'll let you know! It's a slow download! 3 hours!
I also have testet with ICS RUU (RUU_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.32.401.105_R_Radio_11.69.3504.00U_11.22.3504.07_M_release_251961_signed)
but no sucsess for me.
Please let me know when the Problem is solved for you.
cu
This doesn't make any sense... It did not work! I had Hboot 1.27.0000 and radio 11.23.35.04.07_m7 after installing stock RUU and it is still not working.
What are we missing?
I started over, installed the latest Revolution HD with custom kernel, same issue. I also updated to hboot 1.27.1100.
261 view and no one has a solution of even an idea I can try out? Has to be a reason why I don't have radio and wifi.
I have 4g now and I can make calls
Just need Wifi working. I read that it is a common issue if your not on Revolutionary, but I am, so why am I having this issue?
I had Revolution HD Rom and I tried the Wifi akp fix but that did not work. So I tried Energy rom and I had the same issue. I am trying a few more roms.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I've got the same problem on my device after OTA update. Solved it by flashing corresponding radio + kernel.

I've tried a few radios and nothing worked. Even back to stock GB and ICS, which have the original radios, same issues.
What radio did you use?
I'm seeing more and more Wifi issue threads. Does no Dev have a fix for this issue?
I tried the above fix, the above fix is only for the phones that don't have Revolution hboot, I tried it anyways, same issue.
BUT I found out that if I disable Data, and then turn on Wifi, it works, sometimes for a few seconds other times permanently. Other times as soon as I turn on Data, Wifi goes out. Tethering seems to suffer from the same issue too. So far its happened on Revolution HD on all kernels and Energy rom. Viper didn't work but then again I did not disable data. Going to try tomorrow. I would try Cynogen but its missing Google Play app ;/
I've flashed kernels and latest firmware in fastboot, same issue. I've enabled smart flash in 4xt, same issue.
I don't know what to make of this. I'm installing ICS RUU, going back to stock, even though stock has the same issue, going to see what I can do.
Is this just a poorly design phone? Did my brother just waste 250 bucks? Also, 4g is TERRIBLY SLOW! I'm assuming its

Need some advice on a random reboot issue.

I am not sure if this is the right place to put this, so I apologise in advance for my noobness.
I have a HTC Sensation (Standard) from 3 (Hutchinson Telecom). I wanted to put CyanogenMod on there but it hung and it may be because I need to update my Radio and HBOOT. I updated my Radio without a problem. I updated my HBOOT as well, and now my phone randomly shuts down or restarts every few minutes.
My current setup according to my bootloader screen is:
HBOOT-1.17.2008 (PG5813000)
RADIO-11.15.3504.16_M
Does anyone know why my phone keeps rebooting? Is it because of what I've just flashed? And if so, how do I stop it from doing that (and let me flash CGM)?
Sorry once again for my noobness.
I had a similar issue. Just follow the sticky thread on how to enjoy ics and be sure to follow it! It fixed the issue for me.

yes you need to update your firmware(has both radio and hboot) completely if you want cm9 properly working
flash the 3.32/3.33 universal one from the firmware thread
flashing instructions also mentioned in the same thread
then you should boot fine

Thank you for the advice, I flashed 3.32, 3.33 and used the HBOOT patch (which messed up my boot up), but when I installed CGM, it restored my bootup and now I am happily running on CGM 9:
Many thanks for your help on this

sensation xe gets stuck at beats audio logo - bricked?

HI all,
I have been playing with my Sensation XE recently.
Rooted it using CWM. No s-off as my HBoot is 1.29.
Couple days ago I installed Room Toolbox. Yesterday evening I attempted to do font change. When asked if want to reboot said yes and this is it.
Phone restarts, logo is there, vibration is there and it gets stuck on beats audio logo.
I have tried to look for related threads but no joy in finding any solutions.
I can not do Juopunutbear S-OFF (HBOOT 1.27.0000 with 3.32 ICS Firmware) because I am unable to run this software.
I can not flash a custom ROM because I am not S-OFF.
Any idea how to get it sorted as I am running out of options.
Help!
Please?
Pretty please!?
update.
I have tried to update PG18IMG.ZIP - no joy. (parsing)
can not change CID because ''can not find SMART_IO.CRO
my htc is HTC_001
PG5813001
Possible Fix? return to stock

I am back to stock now.
Unlocked again. Phone reboots slower though than it used to. I have a tick noise from camera lens side when pressing back button after taking a photo. dunno if its related.
I will be looking to s-off and mabe put a custom rom later on.
Need to save my GF HDD first as it crashed on me the other day...:crying:
Always Remember if you can get to 4EXT or bootloader it is fixable
I'm a new user to flashing roms. I read and read and read. The most important thing to have is that nandroid backup on a spare sd card in case you accidently format the card. If you can get to bootloader with a back up its almost impossible to brick your device.
