It's about the same up north of you here in Redwood Valley (between Ukiah and Willits) in Mendocino County. Churro, you need to note your location, California is a HUGE place
I am in Palmdale and have been seeing on average 2.5k down and 1.5k up.
Los Angeles area, 3Mbps down, 1.5Mbps up pretty regularly.
In San Diego. As of now I'm unrooted. The fastest download speed I'm able to get was 2.35 Mbps. The fastest upload speed was 0.37 Mbps (which makes sense given AT&T's capped upload speeds).
I'm in San Ramon, AT&T's west coast HQ (used to be SBC's operational headquarters and labs). 2.35 down, 326 up. WTF
These are normal HSPA speeds?
Rooted with CoreDriod 4.5 In Sacramento and I get about 2.5-3.5Down and 1.5up.

They are decent, t-mobile sees higher sometimes at 6 Mbps. 3 Mbps has been normal for me on ATT for the last year or 2. People in some states in the south east states on ATT are seeing 6 Mbps. Once ATT adds extra backhaul speeds will increase a lot. Most of ATT has been 7.2Mbps in most areas.
San Diego, CA
CM7 RC3 (26.06.04.06_M Radio)
Out of 33 tests (Speedtest.net app)
Fastest DL: 3.55 Mbps
Fastest UL: 1.29 Mbps
Avg DL: 2.5Mbps
Avg UL: 1.23Mbps
Can anyone tell me what the 3G speeds are on their phone? We only have 3G in Greensboro, NC but my speeds appear to be really slow.
I get 625 kbps down and 125 kbps up but I only have 3G. I used the new Speedtest.net Beta app.
I'm in Eastern NC and get around 1.5 down and 500 to 600 up...

1.5-1.8 down.
0.5-0.8 up.
Back in smalltown homeland I get .7 down and 0.3 up
Dont use that stupid app. Google speed test in your browser and click on the speak easy link.
out in the boonies in socastee sc I live near peachtree landing and I get 2200 kbps download 1100 upload, and when I go downtown with stronger signals and better reception and more populated area I get 800-1000 download and about 400-500 upload, lol I guess because more people using the towers downtown.
4g will be at all 3g locations by end of 2013 and 4g will cover more areas than 3g since they have liscensing for the whole USA on the 700 MHZ band.
I was getting about 1.5/800 until I flashed the new radio. Now I only get 400/200. These are measured in Boulder, CO.
1400 up 600 down just now
1.5-2.5 down and around 850-1.1 up in Baton Rouge.

SpeedTest App
I'd be careful using the app, because it seems to be giving ?able results (atleast with the 4G, the 3G is kind of hit/miss)
Use a web browser and try it.
Moving on, I get about 60kBps down, 22up in Pomona, CA.
I'm in Augusta, GA from today:
@5:39pm: 650kbps down 866kbps up.
@11:45pm: 1193kpbs down 873kpbs up.
Out here in relatively small town Arkansas, I get 1.5MBs down and 0.52 up.
Bolted!

We won't get 4G in Greensboro NC until next year I was told.
I get about 180kbps down and 330kbps up on 3G with a -85dBm signal.
Actually I get crappy speeds < 300kbps down no matter what my signal strength is, where I work. I think the tower close to our business park is overloaded.
I recently noticed that my 3G speed is much faster than ever before and I live in one of the city that recently added T-Mobile HSPA+.
I was just wondering if Nexus S supports HSPA+. Thanks!
I believe that the NS (I9020 and I9023 variants) have a max download speed of 7.2Mbps and max upload speed of around 5 Mbps, so it is not HSPA+ capable.
It's true the NS, has a max download speed, of 7.2. However, T-mobile's network (at least where I live, supports 21 mbps theoretical speeds (and will be, updating to 42 mbps soon...woohoo) and I regularly see speeds in excess of 6mbps... Upload speeds of almost 2 mbps (1.75 ) so, technically not HSPA + but, not bad either....
Everytime T-mo updates their network everyone sees a boost. You just won't, ever see speeds above, 7 mbps cuz the phone isn't capable of it.
Sent from my NS running NSCollab cuz I lost my tin cans and string....
HSPA yes. HSPA+ no.
