Hmm, never thought about this. Isn't it just broadcast by the carrier directly ? I know when I've been abroad it changes to a local carrier.
Why would you want to ?

I just don't want my carrier's name to show up on the lockscreen or the notification bar. Why be constantly reminded who your carrier is?
I've tried carrier name app but that didn't work.

I think this can be changed in the xml files in framework or system ui apks...not sure...to the archives a.k.a. Google!

Have you tried uot kitchen? I havent used it on the sensation yet, but i was able to modify what was in the status bar to say what i wanted when i tried it on my vibrant. It might be worth a shot! I might go try it myself now that i am thinking about it......

Ahh, you want to hide the carrier name, not change it to another carrier.

Id also like to know about this, having your name instead of your carrier is much better, its like a bit of free advertising for them, iPhone users can do it so im guessing someone on the android can make it happen, I think its broadcast but the phone will have the option to write what it likes, just a case of finding it.

Don't know about changing it to something else, but you can get rid of it. Go to UOT, mod carriers name to be 0% Opacity, done.,

Tried that, only works on the notification bar, but it killed the extended quick settings, plus the carrier name still shows up on the lockscreen.

Tried carrier name app with MIUI rom and it worked. For some reason that app doesn't work on any of the sense roms I've tried (Android Revolution, Pyramid3D0.

i wanna try the carrier name app? is it in the market? i tried searching for it but doesnt show up, anyone mind UPing it here

Change sense mail icon and have it display unread messages?

So im able to change the stock sense mail icon using desktop visualizer but then when i receive an email it does not display a 1 over the icon. I do not use email notifications as i get many emails through my exchange account throughout the day and dont need to be notified but i like having the unread number on my icon. Is there any way to have a custom icon and have it display then number of unread messages over top of it? Thanks!
Anybody....
sorry bro im pretty sure that it is possible but its going to take alot of time for one to find out how to do this and they require dev skills that i dont have im just a flasher/donator... not trying to be rude in anyway but i dont think someone will want to take the time to find out how to do this... who know someone might have already done this and shared it over the internet but you just need to look for it...

Unfortunately im in no way shape or form a developer. I have a good understanding of things but dont come up with my own mod's or tweaks. I would be more than willing to do this myself if i knew how.
i would be more than happy to assist you with that. give me the icon you would like me to replace the stock one with. and just so were clear, you are talking about the green bubble on the mail app right?

Correct the green unread mail count that appears over the icon. Icon is attached. I greatly appreciate your help with this!

ok. do you want this as the app icon or as the bubble? just curious because that would cover most of the icon.
I would use the icon as a shortcut for the mail app. The unread count can be smaller if that is possible. I really appreciate this and will definitely donate when completed.
try this out. flash it via recovery.

Luckily i did a nandroid backup before attempting to flash. The file would not flash as it gave an error in ra. I toggled sig verification and still got an error. Afterwards phone wouldnt boot past splash screen and had to restore nandroid.
That's horrible. 8/

[Q] Possible to make status bar black?

I know the triumph is the new kid on the block and doesn't have a lot of dev or theme work for it yet,but was just wondering if anyone has accomplished making the status bar and pull down black with white lettering? if so... how?
thx
I've tried a couple metamorph themes, as well as an apk I found named GingerBar, all to no avail. Hopefully with CM7 just around the bend we will see black notification bars on our triumphs
I've been trying the same thing. I've tried flashing several metamorph themes and such, even .zip to be installed from recovery. Nothing actually worked. A few metamorph themes just installed indefinitely without finishing. I did a restore from my backup just to make sure there's no damage. I made this thread on HowardForums and someone suggest UOkitchen or whatever it's called lol, but that's seems crazy time consuming. Also, someone posted a screenshot here on XDA in the show your homescreen thread with a modified status bar, might be worth sending him a message asking how, maybe he or she would be willing to help

I'm taking a trip to Ohio tomorrow morning at 4 a.m., 10 hour drive IF there's absolutely no traffic. I can't sleep, because if I do my dad'll have trouble staying awake lol. I have a car-to-wall outlet charger thingy that works with my laptop, so I'll give it a shot on the way. I'll let you know how it goes!

yup yes indeed
mm themes don't change the text color, so it'll be black text on black bar and you won't see anything

Yrah they're metamorph themes. There for the status bar, status background, and for all the icons on the status bar

Yea just go to Droid pirate and use metamorph... who really needs a clock on the status bar anyways? U can theme all the notifications and status bar icons and turn the bar black.
MOTWX435KT
I'm still working on the "white text" half of the conundrum, but in the mean time something like Fancy Widgets should be good enough.
Although a black-bar-white-text theme is something that's a personal goal.
Metamorph makes it easy, but it has a lot more bugs than flashing a theme.

k whatever it is i know there is an icon in the app drawer for it. For some reason it does not show up on TMOUS roms, only seen it on the EU ones. It was also on every other sense rom for every android phone i've had, as well as the people icon. I wonder why TMO decided to delete it...
I assume the people icon i'm looking for is not an APK either, do you know anything about that one? Thanks.

Reuse Stock Phone Icon

I am using a dialer app on my phone, but I really prefer the stock JB phone icon.
Is here any way for me to use this icon but associate it with a different dialer app?
Thanks.

Thanks. I actually have been searching around and saw all the sites you recommend. But thats not exactly what Im trying to achieve.
Im trying to find the stock phone icon and then assign it elsewhere.
I havent figured out how to identify that icon file on my android so that I can then switch it over to another app...

I haven't tried this myself, but if you have a Windows PC this seems pretty straightforward. http://goo.gl/u2FUz

Mods for Stock, Rooted Phone

I am wondering if anyone knows what mods to use on stock rooted firmware to allow changing the battery icon and mod the clock for color, position etc. These are really the only changes I make to a phone after installing a custom rom. I also like the fact that custom roms have the bloatware removed. I can live with out using a custom rom if I can make the simple changes like. Thanks.
