same here man, had 2.2.1 before this update which had same problem
i am on DDKP2 2.3.6
Can any1 fix problem ??
Nowadays i Use XXKPQ and i have no problems with video recording or taking photos, apart from the issue that with less than 15% of battery u can't use camera.
Try flashing each ROM twice with Odin. I've read it's highly recommended for any ROM to work fine.

I flashed 2nd time DDKP2 twice assuming that will solve the problem but it didn't correct that issue. May be this problem is only on DDKP2 other GB rom users don't face this.

Could be so bro! Try with KPQ or KPH and tell us how did it go!
All GB Roms (as far as I have tried, KPE, KPN, KPM, KPH and KPQ) experience this. no doubt KP1 and KP2 do too.
I had XXKPN and now XXKPQ, facing the same problem of dark video recording indoors. Brightness/Contrast doesn't work in all the GB roms as far as recording is concened.
Same problem on kph, as I wrote here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1440311
true ! but XXKPE doesnt have this issue try out kpe's cam ! it works fine ! the thing is that they have added fps limiter to minimum 30 FPS ! earlier it used to go half of that to 15 fps which allowed more light through the lense ! its a basic principle in cameras ! get a dslr increase the shutter speed and u loose light ! decrease it and u get more light ! pretty similar when it comes to video too
I haven't feel any difference between KPH and KPQ. I don't remember how was on Froyo, sorry, too much time without using it.
have you try with an external app for photo?only for try if work or not
Hi there. I'm facing same prob as you.i'm now with gb ddkp2. Is there any solution? Otherwise i'm thinking to go back to xxkpe.hmmmm..my babygirl can't video call with her lovely granpa anymore....really sad....

Hello,
my i9003 have a problem, every firmware who I flashed isn't smooth. It's smooth since 10 minutes after that the phone become to laggy (keyboard and scrolling inusable because of the laggy ...).
The only firmware who don't laggy was the XXKPE and now, after two days of use even him become to laggy !!
I begin to despair, how I can have a smooth phone ? (I don't care about the CF Root or this thing, I want only a smooth phone)
May be it's my flash process ? Someone can suggest me one ?
Thanks for your answers, I hope someone can help me.

i hope u know about custom roms
Thanks for the reply.
Don't love at all the custom skin rom ... But what custom rom is smooth ?
Any other ideas ?
I don't understand what is the matter, why after few hours the phone begin to laggy. I flashed XXKPQ it's the same (has KPE,KPH,KPN,KPM....).
I flash twice XXKPE, flash XXKPQ, factory reset, flasher CF Root and I cleared the Cache and Dalvik Cache. I deoxeded, did backup, Ext4, and restored backup and laggy after few minutes/hours.
I tryed to flash stock ROM without CF Root/ext/Deodex it's the same. I try to download no APK it's the same...
Hope someone can help me.
Deodexing usually causes some home screen scroll lag for me. Don't deodex. Also don't apply any tweaks in your CF-ROOT tweaks app, as some of the tweaks ends up causing the phone to lag after a few minutes of use!

Thanks for the reply.
I tryed without any tweaks or deodex or cf root it's the same. Actually I am with XXKPQ no tweaks and no deodex it's laggy.
I think a file or a thing like that is corrupt.

I think the laggy are independant from the tweaks because of the laggy come without the cf root. So I think there is a thing who create the laggy on all the rom (I hope u understand what I meaning)
But I will try to able some tweaks.
Hmmm... It's weird... Why don't you flash back to your region's stock ROM (Froyo) and see if the problem still persists. If it (or even if you think there are any problems) just send it to the service center and get it repaired/replaced.

I think youre too exposed to iphones. We dont have that smoothness. Even stock fws will have the minimal lags ang hiccups.

I don't think that. Yesteday I flashed to KPQ, since 2-3 hours all was perfect after that the laggy begin. And it'snt "minimal lag" but huge lag, when it's like that the keyboard show the letter 1sec (or more) after I tap on it...
The homescreen it's the same, need to slide 2-3 time for change, or doens't change at all and tap on a apps.
This is not normal at all (even my S5230 was better no need iphone lol).
Sorry but I don't know where find the Froyo for Europe. SamFirmware close :/
I'm downloading I9003XEKE1 does it work in Europe ? All firmware who I downloaded was "XX" I have a doubt

Thanks very much. I watched on Google and I found XXKB3 I downloaded and installed it and it's just perfect. Super smooth, no bug. I don't know if I try to flash Gingerbread again it isnt seems stable like Froyo ...
Do u have any suggestions ?
I understand now. I am using gingerbread now and i can tell that its smooth also. I thibk your problem is the wiping process. After every rom do not forget to factory reset, wipe cache partition then wipe dalvik cache

i guess you have an app working wrong and that's why it is laggy. It allways happen after you copy your backup data or apps?
I backuped the same apps who I used in Gingerbread on Froyo, and Froyo work well. I will retry a last time a flash on Gingerbread and if it's laggy I keep Froyo.
I have a problem with the camera and video hardware to all custom firmware which are based on cyanogenmod kernel. Camera work but does not move and hardware video on player don*t move. On firmware are based on stock all right work. I've tried everything hboot and recovery but result is the same. Install Miui 2.1.6.08 then install kernel UNITY_V9_2.6.35.14 is the only variant when camera well works but hardware video does not work at all. I hope to help developers!

i hope someone could take a look at this and lend a hand. i've got the same problem with my Desire S. Used both MIUI 1.12.30 and then Reaper v1.1, both really good ROMs except for the video playback problem. It does the same when trying to take pictures, the camera preview window would freeze after a couple of seconds but pictures come out ok. same thing when viewing videos through browser or when i try to watch a video file saved in the sd card, video freezes after couple of seconds but audio is totally normal.

give me another ROM so i can flash it using odin

that didn't work any solutions?
ok ,,,,
if you want to chang your rom ,,,,
here fit stock roms :
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-S5670&r=1#regiona
if you want to try customs roms:
you should flash cwm through odin here http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339640 then flash rom you want through recovery ....
there are many custom rom in development section http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1263
cm7.2 rc0
fit droid
creeds
chocobread
& more .............
when i put a mod
will that cancel my warranty?
and is it safe to do that
finally how about overclocking galaxy fit cpu?
will that help me overcome the problem?
i need answers
installing a custom ROM is safe but will void your warranty. But, you can easily get the warranty back by reflashing a stock ROM.
Most videos should play without any need for overclocking...

As he mentioned he needs video recording, so any CM based ROMs are out of question.
u can use poseidon rom since it more stable than CM all issues encountered by the users and testers has been solved like wifi, gps, battery performance..etc
plz hit the thanks button if i helped you
yep, i agree buddy.
of all roms ive tried (not including cm's) poseidon's rom over xxkpq was smoothest and best, with bugs solved.. along with this installation was kernel: uc v9 1009 + custom theme (you may choose up to your own choice) + some mods/scripts. the above enumerated was the best ive used for so long before moving to miui v4 2.7.6 which is way too smooth (however, unapplicable to u since video recording deems to work in low res).
cheers.
I loved titanium rom the most!! finest rom ^_^ .. even supports Hindi and other languages .. and i found it to be best when it comes battery ..

Would you say miui and poseidon are better than remics?? I'm thinking of flashing miui. I'm looking mostly for smoothnes in scroll and opening apps.
For you I think the best options are titanium or stock. I love stock roms! But they are not smooth enough for me, if that's not a problem for you, you should use the stock rom because of the lack of bugs.

i think ill go for titanium again, just will ask anyone if that rom works with bam kernel, smooth fast best battery life. I love stock rom to but to much lags and not so smooth, titanium has just one little bug; when someone calls you u cant see who is calling for about 1 second thats enough for grabbing the phone from your pocket lol, u all got thanks for answers, thanks.
if u want to be in stock ROM better to try the new value pack which is DDLF2 it has been reviewed by others and they can say that it is battery efficient, smooth and stable...and if u found lags u can use bam kernel v.14 beta that fixes bugs.. dont forget the thanks button..hehe
u can read some reviews about the said fw here:

Try TheFrankenstein's Mod for DDLF2. Its smooth as hell . Literally as fast as CM7 . U could give it a try .

@ Angenit
im not saying that poseidon is better than remics buddy. i am saying that poseidon could be of good choice too. pls read op buddy, he asks for a bug free rom (specially with video recording) so i did not mention about remics, etc so as not to mislead him.
cheers,
edit:
sorry buddy, misunderstood ur post hehe..
poseidon paired with uc kernel v9 1009 was the longest streak i used (in terms of gingerbread base). apps smooth and snappy during opening. titanium had good reviews too buddy.
if u were referring of miui gingerbread, its not so stable and battery life is short. ryt now however, i am on miui v4 (ics based), which is far the snappiest ive tried in terms of scrolling and opening apps. battery life also is satisfactory with around 15-17 hrs moderate use per experience. miui v4's external card been changed to emmc =)

Hello all,
I have the same problem as you with my camera. The Gallery isn't displaying my pictures from my camera. it started out with some of them just being black and saying no thumbnail when i would select it. When I open one of it in the gallery, only "loading" appears.
Somebody heard about this issue? I have this problem since last Thursday. I'm using cm9 nightly build.
I try a full wipe but no effect on it...
Thanks.
Lens cap on?
(Sorry, I couldn't resist)
New camera apps still access the same base camera apk.
So you might have a borked camera apk. You could flash a new one.
Or if you have a custom ROM or kernel something in the rom or kernel might be bad. Try reflashing the kernel, then try a different kernel, then reflash the rom, then try a different rom.
Though i doubt the kernel is at fault since you can read bar codes. It sounds like the camera isnt converting its images to files. That could be a apk issue or a rom issue

Thanks!
I tried with another Kernel : the Kernel Bricked 3.0 v1.4 but doesn't change anything. How can I find a stock camera app apk?
Thanks

+1 Nobody has the same problem as us?
I tried with CM10 rom and the same problem. So the problem is not related to a specific ROM and not related to a kernel.
What's the problem?
+1 here, cm9 && cm10 not working, miui based on stock kernel working
on cm9 && cm10 the camera preview works fine,
i have posted here, with a camera logcat pasted: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38806849&postcount=235
have tried sultan kernal r20.8, still not working
I've the same problem, I am pretty sure my camera is fine. It can take the photo even in preview the photo is fine, but it cant save the photo , it just a black image with a exclamation sign, not only this there are other problems too like , with youtube app I cant watch videos, with gallery apps the videos ( that i took before) are blue shaded and not clear and laggy , but with mx player both videos are working fine, Tried a lot of roms , in MIUI rom youtube can play videos also gallery playback is fine , but the camera problem is still there , tried a lot other roms too like ahrd , viper, revelation , aokp, cm10, etc etc, only with miui youtube and gallery playback works flawlessly. Any solution anyone ?? please ? I changed the sd card too, nothing.
exactly the same problem here...
after unlocking and flashin 4ext and a new rom my camera looks fine, but doesn't save the pictures... anyone any idea please?
i really miss my camera!!!
I even went to stock rom, still my problem persists . I guess its problem with 2D GPU thing, cause even in weather app when I click on demo the sense weather thing doesnt work. Sometimes it takes a picture but with serious bluish tint.
