Is there any way to sync WP& whilst running ubuntu? I've searched around a bit and found no conclusive answers. Maybe setting up a virtual box for Windows 7 & Zune to run in? Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Devs,
I really hope you guys can help me with this one, due to I have no idea whats going wrong:
Since the upgrade to Vista SP 2 I am not able to access my PC any more via remote desktop mobile.
Accessing Vista SP 2 PC through my notebook works well from both, LAN and WAN side.
But as soon as I try to access it via Remote Desktop Mobile on my touch HD or my TG01 I receive a connection error and I have no idea why.
I would be very happy if you could help me to find a solution for that due to I really like to boot my PC from anywhere in the world an access my sweet home desktop.
Thanks and with best Regards

Me neither, do really have to switch to Windows 7 pro to solve this?
I heard that some users can't use VPN for something called Cisco, I don't know what it is. But I am currently working in China and they have The Great Firewall which doesn't allow me to use youtube, google half assed, and a VERY slow and sometimes not working Gmail.
I use a VPN from the States to get around this on my laptop. Can I do that with the Surface RT as well?
I remember the VPN company had me download something to run my VPN but I don't know if I actually use it or just use the windows setup. I have Windows 8 developer preview still on my laptop.
thanks,

Hello,
"Standard VPN" connections work like a charm on Surface... but if you need to install any aditional software it won't work as you can't use standard x86 apps.
hope this helps.

Hi, I am using Astrill VPN provider for simillar reasons and although it also comes with a client that allows you to select a server to connect to, they have a list of servers on the web page that you can use with the standard VPN in Windows RT - it works like a charm, no client needed!
I don't know if I need to install that or not. Because I never actually open that file to run the VPN. I just start it up through Windows using the address and password they give me. I don't know what I am doing but somehow it works and I can access youtube.
Thank you!

I'm new in the forum and can't post links, but you can go to wiki dot astrill dot com and search "astrill setup manual for windows 8" you will find how to do it there.

Openvpn is being ported to RT. It's still alpha quality though

Someone told me that Windows Phone 7 or 8 apps will run on Windows RT. Is this true? If so, can someone test to see if the app above will work on Windows RT? I've tried to Google the answer, but no results popped up.

No, they will not (except under a windows phone simulator). Whoever told you that was wrong.
Soon it will be possible...don't know how soon though...

I doubt that. The job posting news sites are linking talks about source code compatibility between Win8 and WP8. Nothing about running WP apps on Win8.

What is this based on? The Windows Phone SDK uses a different API (the WinPhone api even in WP8 is NOT WinRT/"Store App", rather it is still largely the same as WP7x)
Not only that, but why would you want the lower functionality of a WP app on WinRT?
