[Q] A question about the camera of Atrix 2 - Motorola Atrix 2

I'm very interested in Atrix 2. I did a lot of research on Atrix via Google and Forums and saw some pics of the Atrix 4G disputed pentile screen, then Atrix 2 seems a good choice.
How is the rear camera photo quality if I use Camera Zoom FX?
and if it is actually better than Atrix 4G 5MP camera.(I expect test instead of data comparison)
I hoped that it could bear daily use so I don't need to take my Camera with a lot of space. I understand the degrade, but can I at least take relatively good photo with it?
Thanks

At first I bought a G2x. It sucks, it is horrible. The camera and screen. Dead point in the middle, extremely underexposure camera and severe bleeding along the whole screen.. I returned it.

the camera has great hardware, but the software written for the camera is ****e. you can make improvements to quality with camera zoom fx, but, you will still have some problems with quality. but czfx will drastically improve results.

Touch Pro Camera sharpness ... normal?

Hi Guys!
I'm really happy with my Touch Pro for about a month or so, but one thing really dissapoints me : the camera. Before this TP I had a N95 and it really has a great camera; fast, vivid and sharp.
I have tried virtually every available setting in the TP Camera, but I keep getting pictures that aren't really sharp. Best result is pictures taken from a short distance, but when I try to shoot for example my house or street (daylight!) it's a bit blurry.
What's with your TP camera's; are they 'great' of do you have the same impression as I do?
well the HTC company has come from far considering the camera`s.
when al the other manufactor`s like samsung or nokia had 1.3 and 2.1 MP in their phone`s, htc was still stuck with 0.3 MP in their phone`s.
second while for all the other manufactory`s the camera function was very important to them, it wasn`t for htc.
htc never was sold as a camera phone but as an PPC or PDA with a camera.
and don`t forget that a company like sony and samsung already made very good foto and video camera`s it was easy for them to implement a good camere in their phone.
so altouch you now have a nice 3.2MP with autophocus on youre HTC it stil isent a real photo camera.
it just can take picture`s and good ones for the majority of people.
still if you want to take a proffesionel looking foto you got to do it with youre real camera
personaly for me the camera in the HTC is good for a quick snapshot or a nice picture.
sure i would like to see a better camera on the Touch pro or diamond, but if it was just the good camera i wanted i was getting me a sony ericsson.
probably you did aspect more from the camera of youre HTC, and that is to bad.
maybe you did not do any research on the camera`s in the past.
or you didn`t see picture`s taken with an HTC before you bought yours and so i can understand the disappointment you are having.
but you probably haveto live with it.
there are also some settings you can adjust with, maybe you got to try it out.
point is, HTC has a camera on it but it is not the most important thing on the phone.
Are you touching the round button first to get a focus, before you depress it fully to take the shot? Lightly placing your finger on the button causes the indicator on-screen to go green, indicating focus has been achieved. If you don't do it in these two steps, the camera hasn't focussed properly and your shots will be fuzzy.
I tend to get pretty good shots with mine.
It's all there in the manual.
You really can't expect much from the pinhole camera. The focus is strictly software contrast detection fixed focus, so it will be nowhere as good as a real camera with true autofocus. Basically it's stuck at a super high aperture (fstop, like f22) so that it can focus on everything. It can't really truly "focus." With such cheap cameras, it's possible some just aren't calibrated right. I'm still waiting for those liquid lenses that were suppose to revolutionize camera phones 2 years ago or the Squiggle 5mm focusing motor.
What i found a lot of people doing is they hold the thumb over the button and hear the fake focus noise and think thats it, when it fact you have to keep your thumb there until you hear the focus beeps. Usually takes 2-3 seconds. I'm actually kinda impress how macro the focus can get. Noise is pretty bad though, you'll need to reduce the image by at least 1/4th to get rid of it via subsampling.
Thanks very much for all your quick replies!
Yep; I'm using a light touch on the button and wait for the auto-focus to become green before completely pressing. I also tried other settings like pressing once and waiting for the picture to be taken.
I complete understand your filosophy about that the HTC builds PPC's / PDA's and not camera-phones like the Sony or Nokia. In that light; the pictures of the 3.2MP camera aren't too bad.
However, I am used to carrying my phone with me everywhere and sometimes would like to take a picture without carrying my normal camera around. That was going really great with the N95; so great that most of the time I left my real camera at home. Now, with the HTC, I have to remember to carry my camera with me when I am going somewhere I might want to take a picture. That sucks in my opiniion
I did extensive research on the phone I wanted and the TP was the best match for my needs. I thought. Never thought about checking the camera-quality. Stupid me.
But... I am not thinking of getting rid of the phone because of the camera. Yet.
I don't think it's a focus problem, I think the problem is the low quality of the lens. Yes, unfortunately TP doesn't have nearly the quality of a N95 or similar, but the N series has always been about great multimedia cameraphones, which isn't TP's market. I'm not justifying the bad quality, I'm just saying I didn't expect a great camera from a professional phone.
what about the camera quality compared to a 2mp BlackBerry camera??
just curious

I also have a BlackBerry Pearl from my work and its camera is about the same quality as the Touch Pro. Sometimes even a bit sharper but less colourfull. It hasn't got autofocus.

Camera Quality Questions

why is the g2x ffc quality so dark?
i compared it to my itouch4 and the itouch ffcamera is way better than the g2x.
is this any fix for this?
also notice the g2x video recording LAGS when recording in LOW LIGHTING.
the only time when it doesnt lag is when it has direct contact to LIGHT or the SUN.
I think it's because the camera sucks. Both the rear and front facing are pretty junky IMO and tend to shoot really poorly in low light conditions. Turns out HTC cares about hardware quality and LG cares about hardware specs. Again, IMO
in fact, if you flash a 2.3.4 based rom, your front camera will not be that dark anymore, try it!

Camera quality vs Amaze?

I can't seem to find a decent (objective) comparison between the two cameras, and the camera would be a pretty big factor as to whether I'd be upgrading to an Amaze (for free) or One S (for ~$150 plus selling the Amaze). And I'm talking about actual photo quality, not camera/software features or tech specs about the camera that might not necessarily translate to actual picture quality. Thanks for any help!

Their are some youtube videos comparing the cameras, The amaze would lose when it comes to the camera in my opinion. This is the fist camera to be able to take action shots as good as my Cannon T3.

I've only been able to find one video so far...and it's certainly not the best way to compare quality - I'd love to see stills of the same things taken by the two cameras and see how they compare.
I just purchased the One S yesterday.
I cannot compare to the Amaze having never owned one. But I can say that from what I've seen so far of the camera, it's pretty darn good. I've had a Galaxy Indulge, Evo, Sensation and a G2x and IMO this camera takes the best quality pictures hands down. I esp. like the burst mode.
I'm no expert, just thought I'd throw that out there.

[Q] Best app for tablet with fixed focus camera

Hi all,
So I recently got a Lenovo A5500-f tablet and as much as I'm really enjoying this new gadget I was disappointed to find AFTER purchasing it that both the front and rear camera have a fixed focus lens, meaning the camera is horrible unless you're taking photos outside in distance; kinda like point and shoot. This is also a shame because a lot of apps now (mainly the ones for entertainment purposes) use the camera feature and I feel like I'm missing out on using them now. The camera quality is also extremely horrible for anything up close, or unless you have VERY strong lighting. When I purchased the tablet I only saw the 5MP sticker and thought it was decent for a tablet, not realizing that the camera cant even focus.
My question is are there ANY apps at all that make this camera atleast half useable... Paid or free I don't mind. I kinda just need something which will atleast let me take a photo.. My old Iphone 4 takes better quality images.
Thanks!!
bumpp, anyone??

Front camera bad quality and Gcam

Ok, guys, since it's a very important topic, one of the pros of this device and what it is advertised for, I feel the need and obligation to speak about the front camera ridiculous noiseness, blurriness and inability to focus.
Alright, I won't even bother with the mighty rear cameras because there's enough fuss about them. What I noticed clearly is about the front. Dude, this camera configuration by the date is horrid. I say configuration because, thank god, it seems to be a software error.
In low light, the front camera is simply a wreck full of noise. And what is most is that I noticed that because I've came from the g7 plus, which had a great front camera, recording 4k. And even without using 4k on that one, I noticed the bad quality of the g8 plus HD one. I don't want to mention that bad adjusting to light conditions, too.
Now, after downloading Gcam and testing it, it seemed to get rid of substancial noise, but not too good.
I hope you guys noticed this too and we get reedeemed by a future update on this crap. It seems software problem
We need custom roms.
