Does anybody know or experienced if an unlocked Skyrocket works on European cell carriers with data and voice?
Our 3g here in Belgium is on 2100 mhz and I seen that the Skyrocket has the 2100 mhz radio, but heard it only works if you have an AT&T sim.
Thanks in advance.
Got my SkyRocket (AT&T, unlocked version) and it works flawlessly in Belgium, Germany, France and the Netherlands so far. No problems at all connecting to voice, voice mail, data on Edge, 3G and HSPA+. GPS and Google Maps works great. Very nice phone!!
Good to know. I have a customer her that wants to use his over there. Now I just have to help him unlock it

Flash or use Odin and install the Rogers stock radio(XKJ7), it works best for me here. More dependable when it comes to locking onto cell signals and less battery is used when it's searching for data networks. I'm also running Jugg v4.1 from the Tmobile dev forums. It's based off of Rogers as well with no CIQ. Also faux kernel from Tmobile for extreme smoothness and lag free phone use.
Just throwing this out there and hope it helps somebody along the line. I travel mostly between Germany, The Netherlands, France, Luxemburg and live in Belgium. This setup has proven to work flawless for me. Bluetooth in my truck as I travel, wifi as needed, data network the entire time I travel and I always have cell signal. While on the road traveling my battery can last anywhere between 18-22 hours
Is it no problem about agps fast fix issue?
I think att device using att agps supl server.
So another country can't access
Att supl server, may be it will cause slow agps fix.

Hi
Do you mean that you flash the T989 rom to our T727 phone ?
Hi Guys, I am planning to buy this phone, I am from Mexico and before I make the purchase I have a few questions and since I have been around with the HD2 for about a year now, I don't know anything related this one.
- Is there as much development for this specific model as the vanilla S2 one?
- I saw in a sticky thread that there is a way to unlock a S2 with an app, is it possible with this model?
- Since I will be using it in Mexico (Telcel carrier, GSM) I won't receive the ICS update right? but I guess I will be able to root it and then upgrade it following a guide in the Android development subforum?
- Does anyone tested the MHL (HDMI adapter) with this specific model or at least with the vanilla S2? How is it working so far?
- What are your thoughts overall about this phone?
Thanks guys, I posted this as a thread with no luck but I would like to know your opinion

Yes the hardware is the same, it also works in reverse. It's an I727 not T
i think this phone will work pretty much anywhere in this world as long as there's umts. I think it has 850,1900,2100 and also i believe it works on 1700 too.
Although we don't have that many development compare to internation s2, we still have some great development ongoing here.
for the ICS update, you can just flash it from here as long as it arrives.
Also you can flash the tmobile version rom to our phone too.
I'm using the Skyrocket fine in Sydney, Australia.
My 3G frequency is also 2100 MHz. We don't have LTE here yet but the HSPA+ speeds are amazing on this phone. On my old HD2 I was averaging about 3.5 Mbps. On the Skyrocket my average is about 7-8 Mbps with my highest test being 12.77 Mbps.
Not sure what the "agps fast fix issue" is but I've had no issues with the GPS. I'm using GPS Status to download the data file. My average lock speeds are between 5-7 seconds.
The only complaint I have about the phone is the whine/hissing sound I get from the audio at low volume when playing music. Other than that I'm loving the new phone: the impressive responsiveness, faster than ADSL2+ data speeds, very bright screen I can use outside in the sun and the sexy white case with the 'HID' back lit capacitive keys.
All the rom for i727 or T989 all work with i727 . The best radio is : T989UVKL1 .
BTW , compare to my all Samsung GAlaxy S2 i9100 , the i9100 have better singal .
I think skyrocket does not match our korea 2100 mHz network.
Data disconnection often appear, poor signal bar, can't establish call in some area.(like bed room)
I also flashed i727r, T989, T989D radio, but all problems are same.
So i decided my phone changed to T989 hercules.
Is it a good idea?

I'd like to ask, specially PARADOGZ and TREATCON, if any of you perfomed a special procedure to make the phone work on 3G or 3G+. I live in Brazil and bought a I727R(Rogers). My carrier name is CLARO and it works on 2100Mhz... everything is working fine (phone call, wi-fi, 2G) except that I don't 3G .... 2G is very very slow.
when i go to phone status i get a variation between UMTS and HSPA and the symbol on the screen actually says I'm on 4G (3G or 3G+ on brazilian saying) but...of course this is not real....data goes lower than 50kbps... believe.... i'm not mistaken.... only 50kbps....
something is definetely wrong.. please help !!

I'm confused... specs states that I727R works on HSPA 2100 but I can't find WCDMA 2100 on *#2263#. so I can't disregard is a hardware issue.
I hope that the solution be only software.... maybe update BASEBAND....

I'm gonna use my at&t skyrocket in turkey. So is stock radios make a problem wtih custom roms?

Using it in Israel on 2100 MHz 3G band. Working just fine, seen HSPA download speeds in excess of 5MB/s (bytes, not bits).
I used my skyrocket in Ukraine and Russia with At&t sim card and MTS sim card. Also worked in Frankfurt and Munich Germany. Hit and miss on strong signals but works regardless.

Hi everyone,
I am considering buying a used, unlocked Droid 2 Global for usage with a non-USA GMS 850 MHz network with HSDPA 850 MHz 3.5G internet. I need a phone with a hardware QWERTY keyboard and a fairly modern processor. All my searching suggests that the only two fairly modern phones with QWERTY and a decent processor are the D2G and the HTC Desire Z. The Desire Z is slower and a lot more expensive. The D2G has excellent specs and I really like the design. But...
I've heard a lot of things about GSM "resets" on the Droid 2 Global. How bad is it? Are there any firmware updates that correct the problem? Any other major gotchas with a D2G on GSM? Would I be wasting my money if I buy a D2G for use on a non-USA GSM network with a SIM card?
Thanks!
Calling works great on gsm, signal is ok,but you must switch manual in settings on GSM,and if u loose u'r signal somehow there comes annoying pop up if u wanna switch to global...internet on edge working fine...im satisfied with phone, and there will be updates in software for shure...
Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using XDA App
It works just fine although the "apparent" signal seems to be low.
But even when I'm getting one or two bars, I experienced absolutely no dropped calls, no data connection failures, no messaging failures whatsoever.
So, yeah, I definitely recommend using D2G on GSM.
And I think the signal's getting better these days...I don't know why lol
i think the low gsm signal might be a software issue, ive seen tests that show that when the signal being received by the d2g and other gsm devices are the same, the d2g has less bars than other phones, something to consider.
The D2G has serious connectivity issues when used on a GSM Network with a foreign sim card. So far motorola did nothing to solve this problem. I suppose it is a software related issue because the milestone 2 works flawlessly on GSM.
In my case, the signal is usually lost 48% of the time.
Is Motorola working on fixing this?

Both my girlfriend and I use D2Gs in Australia. I have always been on Telstra and she was on Vodafone and just switched to telstra. Reception is great, I have been many very remote places with this phone and the reception is as good as any phone I have every had. Using the fission rom it is stable and fast and has good battery life. This is the best android phone I have had so far, I love it way more than the galaxy it replaced.
My gf initially had issues with GSM crashes and resets and it was due to an older sim card, updating to a newer one solved the issue.
I bought the phones new from the US and then paid $10 to unlock them, both codes worked first time.
My phone is rock solid, I have never had a crash or unexpected reboot. (since i removed cpu tuner, that used to crash it every couple of days)
@mactherapy
Hi, may I ask you where you bought the unlock codes? I have five phones coming in and I need them all unlocked. Thanks in advance.
No problems using it in GSM mode with a foreign sim card here.
Got the phone 2 days ago, currently at about 40 hours uptime. Everything works as intended (using a SoftBank UICC with USIM).

wow 40 hours!
you're using the extended battery?
No. The stock battery.
It works fine. I am using the Fission ROM on Bell Canada's network. I have been using this setup for about six months now and I think the issues are overstated.
I'm using it for about a month now everything is good and stable.
I had to set it to GSM only (because the phone is locked and i'm using TurboSIM).
I was on Fission but flashed yesterday to Hexen (search Droidforums), works even better!
Regards,
mikee
Does these ROM's solve the problem of using the NAB 3g 850/1900?
I am trying to find a phone for Mexico and it is a b i t c h. Only the Desire Z A7275 is even close. And it is expensive if you can even find one.
Has anyone been able to get the D2G to work on the At&T - TelCel NAM 3G Bands for Data???
Using a custom rom doesn't solve the gsm problem. The only way to get a decent signal strenght is switching to GSM only mode, but of course you don't get 3G.
Is Motorola working on solving this issue on the upcoming Gingerbread update?

Well if you get good signal on 2G and bad on 3G, it probably means that your carrier's 3G coverage sucks. No?
Myself, I have zero issues with 3G signal strength on my primary carrier's network. HSPA always shows 80% to 100% signal strength.

Not really. D2G has issues with WCDMA reception. Good signal you only get if you are in very close proximity of the base station.
I usually get 1-2 bars only and any other phone displays full signal strength at the same spot. This is a known bug of D2G. Hopefully will be fixed in upcoming update.

I've bought 3 D2Gs. Sold one to a friend, used a properly unlocked one for a while and then I lost it. Bought a new one but it had bad ESN so it couldn't be unlocked (used TurboSIM).
My (and my friends' experience) so far:
SMS worked just fine on my first phone, received and sent messages instantly. However, my friends' phone would not receive some (around 10%) of his incoming messages until he rebooted the phone. Mine and his phone had no problems sending the SMS.
We shared the same "incoming calling" problem, some of the calls that other made to us were simply denied and redirected to our voicemail. We tested this a lot of times from different phones, and it seemed like most of the calls were voicemailed when the phones were in standby. If the screen was awake the phone would ring as usual.
Signal strength wasn't reliable at all, not like I care since the call quality never took a hit even on almost 0 signal strength. So when it actually worked, it worked superb.
Using a locked D2G with TurboSIM is a real ****ty solution. Calls worked fine, outgoing messages worked, but incoming messages were only received when I made a call.
Long story short, we sold both our phones and are looking for something new, as this was not a reliable phone at all.
My experiences with the D2G GSM radio, using the original firmware (2.4.29 I think it is):
- the radio itself is very good at grabbing a signal, and hanging on in low coverage areas. Call quality is great too. The only phones I've found that are better in this regard are the iPhone 4 (antenna on the outside, mind the seam) and Sony Ericsson Cedar (100% plastic casing, no metal anywhere).
- the signal strength meter ('bars') are faulty in UMTS/HSDPA mode, reporting bars too low. It reports OK with a GSM signal. This is purely cosmetic and doesn't affect call quality in the slightest; e.g. I've had crystal clear calls on a UMTS signal that showed no bars.
- if the phone does lose signal, watch out - it will try to register with the first signal it finds, regardless of what SIM you have or the network settings you have set. e.g. I have a Telstra SIM, and told the phone to connect only to Telstra; when losing a signal it sometimes re-connects to Optus or Vodafone, and sits there. It doesn't realise it's on a network it can't register on, so when this happens you have to manually force it to re-scan for a network.
- switching between GSM and UMTS mode will crash the phone; it's more reliable if you specify a carrier in network settings - then it will crash only 20-30% of the time. (This also happens in 2.4.330)
In my (and some others' experience), 2.4.330 is completely broken on GSM. None of the above are fixed, and worse still, the radio works for about half a day to a day, then will start ignoring calls and messages until you reboot.
Right now I'm using the Sony Ericsson Cedar (much better than its $50 price tag implies), with the D2G back in its box hoping that (a) the GB update arrives before the iPhone 4S/5 does, and (b) that update finally fixes these GSM radio bugs.
I have seen many threads talking about basebands, but I can't find anyone clearly explaining in which country/region a given baseband in supposed to work well, and where it doesn't.
I need a Gingerbread baseband for my Optimus 3D that will fully work in Latin America region, I'm afraid to get in trouble if I flash the european GB baseband I found in this forum, and loose some (or all) frequencies in my country.
Thanks in advance!
Me too. I'm in Canada and when I flashed the euro gb baseband I lost all connectivity.

I have no idea why it's not working. Both AT&T and Bell use the 850 and 1900mhz frequencies for their respective UMTS networks, but up in Canada we can't even get the phone to recognize our network. I'd be happy with 3G speeds for now, but that's not even possible. I wonder if AT&T uses other bands for 3G speeds as well?
My phone is a P920 of European origin and have had to put the 3G baseband of a Thrill. This in Froyo. Also the one I have worked p920h.
Until no one KDZ for America or get a baseband for this continent, you lose the 3g frequencies 850 and 1900.
Keep in mind that the baseband is independent of the rom, which means that after installing the baseband you can put any rom, whether European or American.
The Ginger there so far is European and therefore everything is lost that frequency.
Sorry for my language.
With Google Translator
Good Evening,
I wonder if a baseband from another Gingerbread device could be modified to work with the Optimus 3D. What about one from an Optimus 2X?
Just a thought...I wouldn't know where to begin!
just a quick question, my carrier works under 2100 Mhz I am located in Costa Rica, if I do put the euro version will the network not work....
---------- Post added at 08:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:10 PM ----------
my question is since I do not live in Europe, what exactly euro open means
I'm using euro gb fw, and everything is working fine, although I have an edge icon instead of 3g, think it's cause of the region can't remember if it happened with my old x10.
this can be an issue unless it's showed like that when not having data enabled
edit:
I'm on a 3g network and I have edge enabled :S, we need LAM baseband Q_Q
I happen to be in a 1900 umts AT&T area, but it was too spotty and I went back to Froyo. Though for those of us who have to wait, I have a froyo custom kernel with init.d support below (thrillz) that I've been running on my p925 on the roadrunner rom.

For no apparent reason after the reboot I was registered on the network (Bell) and have had no problems as of yet (Only has been an hour or so).

Apparently Rogers is one of the last carriers to get on board with Gingerbread and is holding up LG.

Good Morning,
My device is a Rogers device unlocked and used on the Bell network.
After flashing the V21a Gingerbread KDZ a second time I am having no issues at all!
I wish I could tell you why it worked this time when the original baseband flash method and my first flash of the V21a KDZ both resulted in network issues.
I didn't do anything differently the second time I flashed the KDZ and was immediately registered on the network. I have had no issues since lastnight.
I will let you know if anything changes!

Hi Audi.
Thanks for the info. I guess since you got on the bell network, the rogers network should also work? Maybe not actually because rogers GSM. Is your connection Gsm Too? I am a bit nervous flashing kdz file. Its not standard zip flash through cwm is it?
I also worried about flashing baseband.
Do you know if I have made nandrroid backup of my 2.2 and need to restore, will my backup flash 2.2 baseband back on automatically?
Thanks .
I use the same gsm network as at&t think it's the same as rogers, I randomly get dc from the network but comes back fast.
I think you should be aware that maybe your 3g network won't work using euro open fw
i'm always on edge :S

Good Evening,
The phone is running great. I currently have the Acura ROM installed.
Battery life is an incredible improvement!
The icon I have is "H" (so 3G not HSPA+ yet); and the speeds are as previously mentioned averaging between 2.5 Mbps and 5.5 Mbps depending on the time of day and signal strength.
No random disconnects; voice and data (3G/WIFI) work without issue.
Thanks, Audi.

I chose this radio because T989 users were saying they got better signal on this than even on Blaze radios. Or something like that. I'd link it but I spent like 7 hours fighting with it, way past my normal bed time, so I hardly remember anything. Here is a screenshot of my phone running the radio to prove it isn't a brick-maker. I also do not know if this supports 3G/4G, because as you can see my tower is EDGE :/

I'm gonna test it here in Vegas as soon it's done charging and nandroid backup. Hopefully, you get 3g/faux-g soon.
Yep can confirm that this radio works with faux-g here in Vegas. It's a little slow right now in the part of town where I'm living but workable. To the OP, radios are important for the type of ROM you want to be using. For example, a GB ROM depends on a GB radio and the same goes for ICS/JB ROMS.

I'd be content with reliable 2G. According to mapping apps there is a whole 1 tower here, 2G, and barely usable. Many times it will show 1 bar and still say 'Emergency Calls Only' >.>
I flashed a T989 ROM to enable Wifi Calling, but I need a new SIM card from T-Mobile (a 'GBA SIM'). It took a while with a bunch of phone tag across T-Mo departments, but I think I finally have a 'GBA SIM' coming at the cost of $0.99. Will report.

Zefie im using the same rom and radio and kernel as you are and i cannot get to connect to hspa+ sincei only get 1mb of speed or less.
and internet its always slow
Perhaps I may help a bit. Is it showing 4g in the status bar? Also, are you in a 4g area?

My phone reports that the mobile network type is "EDGE:2". I've assumed that this means I am not in a 3G area. The T-Mo coverage map shows the majority of my area as 2G. There is one small light green spot (assumingly 3g?) over my house, but I think this is just an error on the map. Therefore I am unable to properly test for 3G/4G connectivity.
I've also asked T-Mo if there was any plans to upgrade our tower to 3G, and unlike AT&T who would quickly counter with "but we have 3G in your area!", T-Mo sent me to some activist page to start a local rally to convince local officials to upgrade coverage. I guess this is their way of admitting it is, in fact, a 2g tower.
I've also changed my radio back to T989. I'm not sure if it was a radio issue or what but it seems after a few hours the phone would lose service completely. I'm still testing stuff.

What is the average signal strength that you usually get? Also , if I read correctly, you are now using the stock t989 radio on the skyrocket? Which would mean GB?

this radio (UVLH1, 4.0.4 ICS latest T989 radio) is also doing the same thing as the note radio. After a while (3-5 hours) the status bar will show service (2-3 bars, even fluctuate) but the system is "Searching" and calls and txts are missed. Need a stable radio...
edit 2: I guess technically I could just ust the original AT&T radio since I only get 2G here anyway, and T-Mobile is re-farming so 3G will eventually work on 1900mhz., the 1700/2100 is going to LTE like it should, thus our skyrockets on AT&T radio should technically be able to get T-Mobile 4G LTE when its available
edit 3: rogers (I727TR) radio probably better than AT&T for the sake of rat unlocked
edit 4: removed edit 1, just gonna use I727R UCLD2
OK. Sorry that the radios didn't really work out. I do encounter some network disconnects here but not a total dealbreaker. I guess we'll have to wait for T-Mobile. On a sidenote, I am finding I have better coverage with this radio.

I do like T-Mobile but I will watch from StraightTalk (AT&T Sim) and try again when they grow some more here. I need mobile data to work. I wouldn't mind 30kB/s but I only accomplished that once. Heck I'd even take 5kB/s if it didn't take over 2 minutes to establish one connection. I can't even use MMS most the time because it seems to require 4+ (-90) bars of service before EDGE will even establish a connection.
Edit: Got my 'GBA SIM' today for Wifi Calling. Works great on this ROM combo. I just wish I had mobile internet. I may do some tests as I am secretly hoping this GBA SIM has 3G/4G and maybe my old SIM was a 2G sim.
For archival reference in case I go back to AT&T ROMs, and my sig changes, Wifi calling for T-Mobile works on our Skyrockets using Faux123 ICS T989 Kernel for I727 MOD v001 and SGH-T989 UVLE1 Infamous Resurrection ROM
Zefie thank you for moding faux kernel as i use the rom on your signature and the kernel and Telus modded radio for t898d nd im getting awssome hspa+ speeds today i gotted 10mb download and 2mb up.

Buy a Samsung Galaxy Nexus from the Google Playstore for only 349.00. Its unlocked and works with both ATT and TMobile 4G.
That's what I did for my wife and using a Flashed Skyrocket on T-Moile 4G has been flaky at best.
Hello all,
As the title states, I'm taking a two week trip to Scotland in August. I require "local" voice/text and internet (unlimited?) would be a HUGE plus (especially for gps use).
T-mobile seems to have a $42-something plan which includes all the above, but I would be upset if my phone didn't work well with it for some reason when we landed. I'm currently on AT&T running Cyanogenmod 3.0.66? and Slimbean 4.2 and very willing to reflash to more appropriate roms.
My questions are:
1. Is it reasonable for me to bring my S2 and use a prepaid SIM, taking the risk something may not work? If so, what kernal/rom is best for Europe (say T-Mobile, etc) ?
2. Does anyone have a better option? This is my first time abroad and I'm open to advice.
I haven't been on xda for a while, so I apologize if this information is generally available. I did attempt to search but couldn't find what I was looking for.
Please help this old man!
Side question: Anyone have a good experience to report with an offline gps app?
Use a rom which supports GSM so go into settings mobile network and then network settings and see if you have WCDMA / GSM. That means it will work here. Also the best and cheapest sim card to get here is a Giffgaff one.
Also, regarding Gps, it's Scotland... You won't get lost.
Giffgaff give for £10 unlimited texts, 250 or 500min call and 1gb data... So just use data with Gps.
There is a cut down version of that for £5 but I'd rather have more Internet to use maps.
You can convert the £££ into $$$

If T-Mobile in Scotland uses the same frequencies as here in the USA, it would be reasonable to use the stock tmobile UVMC6 plus skyrocket JB kernel plus either UCMC1 radio OR UVMB1(blaze 4G radio)
Here's the rom,I used it on my rocket for sometime
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344942
But you have to flash a skyrocket kernel to correct screen rotation..Mohan has one in the dev section
Search for UVMB1 radio for data on AWS at HSPA...I don't think the Scottish have LTE on T-Mobile yet or even UCMC1 would work on their data if the use 1700/2100 AWS on LTE...
Have a nice trip...Scotland is a beautiful country...

I agree, however will this work on my current AT&T provider until I land in Scotland? This is my primary cellphone.
The rom, yes...
The radio, if you use LTE here, it will not work on UVMB1, but HSPA is ok
My plan would be
1.Flash the T-Mobile rom now
2.Flash the skyrocket kernel now
3.Leave your radio alone..
4.Have few T-Mobile radios like UVMB1 on your sd, flash it on board at the airplane do it would be ready there...
Of course that's if you choose to go with tmobile path...

Thank you for your quick reply. I briefly looked into Giffgaff, and it seems like they charge for anything not between other Giffgaff users. This would make calling hotels, etc still costly. Plus, it looks like I need a UK postcode to receive a SIM card.
Also, we plan on doing some driving all throughout Scotland and the GPS option would greatly decrease any stress related to traveling, but thank you for your reassurance! :fingers-crossed:

I like the way you think, buddy. So far if I can find an appropriate SIM plan, that is what I'll be doing.

Use the £5 or £10 goody bag. You can call anything in UK. Landlines, Mobiles and all. They don't care.
You can get the sims at shops too. Just the websites says post code.
250 or 500min is to landlines and whatever. The Giffgaff to Giffgaff ones are free.

It is good to research on network options while you're here...But probably you'll find a cell phones shop in the airport and buy a SIM from there..
Go to Wikipedia and read about their network bands, if they are compatible with AT&T specifications, you might need nothing done and your phone would work right away as soon as you put the new SIM and setup the correct apn...Of course that's if your phone is already unlocked..
By the way sir, this is the general section, all questions should be in Q/A forum...
Hello. This may be a redundent problem and question thats been asked many times im sure. My in advance apoligies for I am new to this whole rooting and reprogramming with modified os andriod systems. I have a problem and if anyone can help or guide me in the proper directions, I would so greatly appreciate it. Let me first share what I have and what my issue is. Then any info you mau have I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
I have a att version samsung galaxy s2 Sgh-t727 skyrocket. I have factory unlocked it to use with my current local carrier Cincinnati Bell. It works with cin bell just fine in making calls. However, at best the internet is only E or G. I do have all apn settings correct. I think the problem is in the radio frequency there is a difference between the 2 service providers on thier technology way of connecting to 3 and 4g. Cinbell uses umts, wcdma, hspa and hsdpa with a bandwith of 1700 and 2100 mghz frequency connections. This att uses lte I believe. So since theres no lte service in my area offered, I believe the phone reverts to Edge gsm at best. Cincinnati Bell uses the same technology as T-Mobile as ive been told and they share the same towers in this region of ohio Kentucky and indiana. So with that said, is it possible this particular phone has all the proper connections and bandwiths but is locked to the original provider of the phone....being att in this case? And if it dont have all the proper frequency and bandwiths, then how do I flash it with T-Mobile radio signals and network technology so it can run using 3 and 4g speeds? Any help I would greatly appreciate. Thanks so much. Everyone have a great weekend.

I'd try some T-Mobile radios. See vincom's stickies.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
Search for the following radios and try them :
I757MUGMC5
UVMC6
UVMB1
Try one after the other... Flash in cwm or twrp recoveries.Wipe cache after each radio flash and see what radio can give you the best results..
Wait on each radio for some time (let's say 15min) after reboot to settle down...
Double check your APN settings..
Your issue is exactly like somebody wants to use skyrocket on T-Mobile.. There's is big thread discussing that matter in the general section...
Good luck..
PS:Sometimes using a T-Mobile T989 rom probably would give you higher rates of success, especially your issue is the AWS bands in HSPA+
PS2:As a disclaimer , you're the only one who's responsible for any damages that may happen to your device , especially when dealing with radio and kernel , and as a side note , why Cincci Bell ? unless you have a strong reason (price,reception,etc..) I would think about T mobile itself , they are doing a good job in both expanding their LTE network as well as expanding their refamred 1900MHz spectrum which makes usage of stock AT&T radios possible , I use my Skyrocket on T mobile and get their LTE reception on UCMC1 without the hassle of trying radios and what not ...
