[Q] Which phone is recommended for AT&T? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Dear fellow XDA members,
I was wondering if someone could chime in to help make my decision much easier for me. I currently just signed up with AT&T and within my 30 buyers remorse period so I am trying to get the right phone for me. I like the bigger screen that most Android phone offers but I like the screen resolution that the iPhone offers, but not a fan of the apps being displayed on the home screen. Could anyone help me out with deciding which phone to choose. Please give me an explanation to why you chose that particular phone please.
Here are my options:
Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket
Apple iPhone 4S
LG Nitro HD
HTC Vivid
Much appreciation for those who chimes in to provide information to me.
Thank you,
John

personally i would say the skyrocket because of the cheap price and dual core 1.5 ghz processor. But its all about personal preference but i suggest the GSIISR

Hard decision help?

Ok .. so right now I have a Motorola Atrix 2 on AT&T, and quite frankly, I am NOT impressed with this phone at all .. the fact that Motorola did not learn from its mistakes from the Motorola Atrix 4G in regards to the memory issues is just pure stupidity.
I'm torn between the 2 new phones that were just released to AT&T .. the HTC Vivid and the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. Now, I have hammered theweb reading reviews about the 2 phones .. I have gone into the AT&T Store and played with both .. but for unknown reasons, I cannot make up my mind as to which one to get.
I obtained the Atrix 2 from BestBuy in the beginning of November, so I'm currently in the 30 days return policy .. so:
I'm posting this poll to see what other readers suggest as to what would be the best to get next .. please vote, let me know .. and if any questions or comments about the phones .. please post .. the more feedback, the better.
Thank you.
skyrocket, no question about it.
I would have to go with the Skyrocket i've used a raider and well... it feels like ever other HTC phone on the market... they really don't differentiate their products well. The Skyrocket, well it's a Galaxy S II so it has those in common but even though it uses a Qualcomm it's still quite a decent.
I've tried the Raider, The Razar and the SIILTE against each other once or twice already at a store and well the SIILTE beats both of them.
In all I would recommend the SIILTE, Samsung makes good products and are quite speedy in updating their products, HTC well you will get "Well your device can't support sense 4.0 "But it's on your budget device" "so..."
PERFECT .. please keep the responses coming
Well would you be willing to wait for option 3.
Get a Galaxy Nexus you'll be able to get one next week when they are released you can import one since they already come unlocked. Or they will be released on AT&T pretty soon

He's exchanging phones.
Not favoring Android at all right now, but out of the two definitely Skyrocket.
wow easy!
Honestly there is no question or even a contest between the both.
SKYROCKET ALL THE WAY BUD!
CHEERS
As they are saying skyrocket all the way..
I'd have to go with Samsung, gorgeous phone, and definitely a beast.
Skyrocket, Samsung makes the best phones these times

@Illicit Hero: Why aren't you favoring Android at this time ?
Definitely Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket, the specification itself is better than HTC Vivid.
Goto GSMarena and do a comparison of these 2 phone.
Out of all previous poster prolly only couple actually own the Skyrocket. I was about to buy it but I've changed my mind inside ATT's store after playing almost an hour with both. Any sgs2 user will say "Sammy's the best" and indeed it is, but the Skyrocket has a different CPU and I actually could see the difference. Didn't like the wvga on its 4.5" screen, for some reason the screen on sgs2 looks so much better. If you don't care for 4.5" go with sgs2, otherwise I would go back to the store and play a little more.

galaxy is my choice..its very reliable phone.......
AT&T Galaxy S II i777.
Why? Dev support on that from stemming from i9100 which the Skyrocket is not 'compatible' with.
between the 2 it's an easy choice LOL
just look at the development for each of those phones to help you decide
S II Skyrocket, Skyrocket, Skyrocket, Skyrocket, Skyrocket....
Skyrocket is the way to go mate
Samsung Galaxy S2 is the best phone on the market.

[Q] Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Galaxy S II, or...

Hello to All !!!
First post ever over here ! Thanks for this is a fantastic community, and many, including me, have learned from all the great info here !!! (Own an Asus Transformer !).
Currently with iPhone 4 jailbrokened AT&T (easy on the tomatoes...), but thinking about getting an Android phone. I have read multiple threads, and articles...seems to me that the SGSII is the current "killer" phone out there. But maybe the Galaxy Nexus is almost there.
Also, I have found a nice, altougth rather short, thread about a classification of phones according to their antenna and reception, and it seems that the Moto Milestone XT720 is the best out there.
So, in short: Which phone would you guys recommend, either from one of these in my post, or something else, and why?
Cheers,
CG.
If you must go android, get the razr.
SGS2
Don't go with Razr. Go with Samsung Galaxy S II.
Galaxy S 2 for speed (guts)
Galaxy S II LTE for speed (Network)
Galaxy Nexus for screen and speed (updates)
What is more important to you the guys, the network speed or updates and a beautiful screen
none of the above
wait until June to get the latest and greatest
along the lines of HTC quad core Edge
Galasy Note, for style and everything else

[Q] best new android phone?

now dont shoot me but iv always had an iphone. i tried one of the first android phones back in the day, and was not impressed and never looked back.
NOW.....
i recently got a acer a501 tablet, and i am very happy with the current android a huge improvement, also i was playing around with my friends droid and was also very impressed.
so im kinda thinking to buy or kajiji trade for a new droid.
i thought id ask the biggest droid community what you opinion is on best droid phones out there, i know its opinion and different people look for different things.
im looking for- good battery life, ideally a good selection of roms, good for music play, dont care about video as i have a tab for that, not huge (iv noticed an up trend in the size of droid phones)
thank you every one, any input is appreciated

Galaxy Note or Nexus. Rogers also has the SII LTE which would also be a good choice assuming you want a smaller note without well the note part. They also have the Razr which .... well its a motorola phone and is inferior to the Nexus (Razr owners don't hate) and it's not the Razr Maxx with the amazing battery
Also if you are still in your contract and want a phone to ride out the rest of t I would suggest picking up a Lumia 710 off contract, they are $250
For Rogers, if you need now and have LTE data then, SG2 all the way.
The Galaxy Note is just huge ... How are you goign to walk around with that and talk on it? (my opinion at least)
The Moto Razr is not bad either, if you don't have have LTE this would be my choice. It's kind of skinny for my liking but that's personal preference.
The Nexus is a good choice since it has ice cream sandwich out of the box, if that's what you like. Not sure if the SG2 has ICS yet though or when.
If you wait, I think SG3 will come out soon maybe within half a year, hopefully sooner.
I don't know anything about rodgers, but as I understand it the best phones at present are:
Galaxy note -- "huge" screen (and battery)
Razr maxx -- biggest battery (but you can't replace it)
Droid 4 -- physical keyboard
Galaxy/google nexus -- all the new toys and probobly the most numerous and timely os upgrades

Price is no problem I see?
Well you have a tablet and galaxy note is just to huge.
I should go for the galaxy nexus. Always fast updates, no slow htc widgets or other crap apps.
And not so much people have that phone, in my experience.

[Q] what is the best new android phone for custom ROM's

I'm looking for a high performance, easy to root phone with preferable a large screen, available in the UK or easily imported with unlocked sim (i.e. not stuck with orange or vodafone ect)
a phone that has been released rather recently or has been announced with promising specs??
I would say the Samsung Galaxy S3 is your best bet.
Same question, but I'm in the US, and don't intend on using the 3G/4G Radio(s). Would I still need an unlocked phone, or would the cheaper, Carrier-locked version be fine if I'm going to mod/Rom away the use of those Radios?

I'm really hoping the Galaxy S3 is going to do really great. Probably going to be the next first gen EVO.
I was initially going to buy the galaxy note but many reviews said that compared to the s3 its exceptionally slower (not to say it's a slow phone but in comparison due to the larger screen), I would love the galaxy note with more power ect but not sure if they will release such a thing in the future,
Hi,
Best of the samsung SGS2 and the best of all I think :good:
I would recommend Samsung Galaxy S2 or Samsung Galaxy S Advance
samsung galaxy S3 is not the best choice. try galaxy W, there is room for improvement and customization

What is the best phone for the money?

Im looking for a new phone.I want a good phone, but i dont want to have to get a loan for one. What is your favorite phone for the price? oh and im on Sprint!
--Thanks, xWYNNx
Google Wallet
Any android phone with Google Wallet is the best! :good:
internal/external
edit: I misread the Original Post... I thought you meant memory... I'm deeply sorry.. for the money... It depends on what you want, if you're going through sprint they usually have phones that cost little money on plans, what is your budget?
People aren't reading the OP. He's on sprint which means he has three decent options. He could kick-it-old school with the best Americanized S2 (Epic 4G Touch), go pure with the Galaxy Nexus, or have some sense and go LTEvo.
I'd say the Evo LTE as I have the One S and the One Series is brilliant. I was a Samsung fanboy up until this phone.

For the money, I don't think you can beat the Galaxy Nexus. There are somewhat better high-end phones, but they cost much more.

Samsung Infuse i think, for ~300USD best quallity
Any pure Google phone. Galaxy nexus being the most powerful at the moment and it may have a slightly outdated gpu however its still more than capable of everything on Google play. Don't get stuck with poor support/prices anywhere else
Pin it to Win it.
Search on google, i think google will help you...

Probably nexus since sprint sgs2 blows nor will you get all latest and greatest updates.

The Samsung Galaxy S III and HTC Evo 4G LTE are the most expensive and the same price, but it's kind of a toss up as to which one's better. I think the HTC Evo 4G LTE scores slightly better, but honestly, I don't think you'd see much of a difference in actual use. I'd guess that the Evo handles drops/falls better than the S III though, and that would be a big factor for me.
So the HTC Evo 4G LTE and Samsung Galaxy S III are the most expensive, then the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, then the cheapest is the Samsung Galaxy S II. On a few benchmark tests, the Samsung Galaxy S II using its latest OS, Ice Cream Sandwich, was faster than the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. But in a few weeks, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is supposed to be getting Jelly Bean, which is supposed to be a much more refined version than Ice Cream Sandwich. I'm guessing that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Jelly Bean would be faster than Ice Cream Sandwich on the Samsung Galaxy S II.
Personally, I'd get the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, just so I could get the newest version of Android. But if you want to save $50, the Samsung Galaxy S II is a great choice too.
Get an iPhone bro.

That's pathetic, everyone who knows phones knows iPhones are far overpriced.
