i love my shell3d calendar and weather widget. such a shame shell3d doesnt display too well on the note. 4x4 has all the text popping out of the bubbles in the widget, and 16x16 looks too small. they need to integrate 5x5 or 6x6, then it would work much better.
Have you tried setting your note to 240 dpi instead of the original 320.
@ 240 the 4x4 icons don't look too bad.

follow the instructions and you should be fine I do it thro' root explorer and am running my note at 240 and everything is just fine.

I was told about LauncherPro and loving but the HTC widgets are not in the list while I am using LauncherPro, is there a way I can get the widgets on there?

Unfortunately the HTC widgets only work with the Sense UI interface and home screen. Once you use a 3rd party home program you lose the ability to add HTC Widgets. I use Helix 2 and find that the usefulness of the program outweighs the need to use HTC specific widgets.

fancy widget search it up google is your friend lol I would post it but I cant find a link but I can show you what it looks like with LAuncher PRo and the widget running

I use ADW Launcher, Beautiful Widgets, Agenda Widget, Pure Grid Calendar, Pure Messenger, Pure Music and Visual Bookmarks to replace most of the Sense widgets.

I've been curious to try out ADW Launcher. How does it compare to LauncherPro?
Nevermind. Just tried it out and I definitely prefer LauncherPro.
HelixLauncher 1 and 2 are also home replacement options

I just modified the Power Widget that's part of this MOD as per the instructions in the thread and it works perfectly and looks better than the Switch Pro widget.
all the widgets I find are only 4x? max... which I don't like how they scale...
can u guys share what widgets that support 5x1 5x2 5x3 5x4

Go Launcher runs very laggy on my note. App Drawer is a pain!
Go Launcher EX is nicer to look at and has lots of installable themes but due to lag I find Launcher Pro to be smoother and if you have the paid version you can resize your widgets
Isn't there a non-launcher-installation solution?
I asked the developer of callendargoo for a 5 by 5 widget and she e mailed me a version of the software jusr for me within 24 hrs. Other devs have been less helpful. Do e mail them though otherwise they will never get round to it!!

Many widget on galaxy Notes are resizable by default
long press on widget you want to resize, release, you will find yellow line out to resize

install touchwizz 4.5 work great
Please enlist apps which have 5x size widgets, at least until ICS happens.
All stock Samsung apps made for the note have 5x widgets:
1. S-memo
2. S-planner
3. Accuweather
HD widgets in market has some nice ones specifically for the note

update to the newer version, it allows you to do 5x1, 5x2, etc.
Done, love it.
However everyone else needs to follow suit and get some 5x widgets out

FANCY WIDGETS is another alternative....
and for battery widget..
go for battery indicator widget ... it has good graphics !
Widgetsoid (toggle controls) also has 5x1 widget , very nice.
Calengoo (feature rich calendar app) has multiple 5x widgets with tons of customizations.
Elixir 2 with Elixir 2 Widgets.
Or use one of the third party launchers like ADW/Launcher Pro/GO that let you resize any widget. Most 4x widgets look fine when stretched to 5x.

I have Fancy Widgets but it has only 2x and 4x size, not 5x
Apw has 5x Widgets but you need to set it up in the main app before the 5x Widgets show up in the Widgets menu.

sorry if this is obvious but I couldnt find a suitable extra large clock in the the market. Since the Notes screen is so huge, I like a clock thats bigger than the stardard clocks suited for the Galaxy S series etc.

hd widget does not support Galaxy Note, i have installed this app but there is no 5x widget sizes...
Hd widgets does have 5x3 and other 5x* widgets specially for the G Note... Check the last version

Yes, there is a option in latest version of HD Widget, I have checked it out.
It supports 5x widgets.

How did you change dpi? i tried adb shell wm density 400 && adb reboot
phone reboots, but adb still says 480
Never mind, I'm coming from S4 truned down to 370 so 400 was still large
But which keybord are you using? swiftkey is useless when changed dpi to 380.
