World of Goo now on Android - Xperia Play Themes and Apps

There is an awesome fun game in the Market called World of Goo. Apparently it has been very hot on the Wii and the iPad, and has won all sorts of awards.
While not optimized for the Play, it's very challenging and amusing. Great music, fun graphics and creative game physics makes this one you won't want to miss. If you like Angry Birds or were addicted to the PC classic Lemmings, you'll love World of Goo!

Its a great & fun game. I played it when it came out on PC - Starts to get increasingly challenging after the First world.

Yes! Only took 3 years but this game is amazing!

I've tried it a few times in the past, still hate it

Since when was it exclusive to Xperia Play?

As I said, "while not optimized for the Play..." It's just a cool game that runs smooth as silk on our phone, and a blast to play.

Most addictive android games?

Are there any really addictive games that aren't obvious (aka on the google play top free)
SvZ
Samurai Vs. Zombies defense is the only game I have been addicted to. Other games just don't cut it for me. I want a good platformer. This game I found worth it though because you get to level up and actually have to strategize instead of throw birds at things or guess what people are drawing. How boring!

need an interesting game.

Hi, I'm new here.
I hope some body to introduce some casual games on my Android phone, but other than Angry Bird and Plants vs Zombies.
Thanks in advance.
Subway surfers
/==(CyberScopes)==\
Temple Run and FantasyXRunners seem pretty good.
Here's what i've found particularly interesting on my phone as of late.
If you want something pretty engaging but extremely simple, I'd recomend Rayman Jungle Run. It's easy until you start going for the challenges in each level.
If you'd like something a bit more complex that takes a bit more time to master, look into Osmos. Very addicting game where the object is to become the biggest... well, object on the screen. you do this by absorbing other nearby objects that are smaller than you. It's a lot harder than it sounds.
If you'd like some fun casual exploration, I'd recommend the minecraft pocket edition, always lots of fun going around building your own stuff and going exploring.
If you're willing to throw down a bit more cash, GTA 3 has always been tons of fun, though i have noticed some things a bit different from the android and ps2 version that drive me a little nuts, one of which being the inability to beat your poor enemies into the ground with the bat. Very minor gripe for me and still tons of fun.
My most played game however is probably words with friends. Basically scrabble online. They have a free version and you can connect to any random player looking for a game. Good stuff. Hope this helps.

What are some good retro platformers?

I already have most of OrangePixel's games(Meganoid, INC, etc.) and They Need To Be Fed, but can't find any other good ones. I don't want something like Cordy or Robotto. I'd prefer something more retro-like and also PLAY optimized, if possible. Thanks.
Have you tried Don't look back? Only some of the play controls work. I've finished it and quite enjoyed it despite it's basic gameplay.
Project 83113 is also great but not really retro
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
LMAO, that looks like an Atari game! Maybe a little TOO retro, but I'll give it a try regardless. Thanks.
The sonic games might also be worth checking out as well as:
Lode Runner X
Experiment 13
Karoshi
Gunman Clive
And Tap n crash

@UndisputedGuy I've already beaten Karoshi & Gunman Clive before, but Tap n Crash looks a lot like impossible game, which is good.
@TLRtheory Giana Sisters & Pixeline...No. Paper Monsters looks OK at most. These all seem too childish to me. Thanks anyways.
@Leraeniesh Unfortunately, I've already beaten every Metroid & Castlevania multiple times. It's too bad Metroidvania is dying. Great recommendation though.
Have you tried Megatroid? It's free but I don't think it's optimised for the Xperia Play
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Gunman Clive was way too short and I found Paper Monsters to be very very boring. I would certainly agree with the Lode Runner X recommendation even though it isn't a platformer. I would also try Ninjammin Beat-Jitsu even though it's a bit more of a rhythm based game.
@UndisputedGuy I will definitely check out Megatroid. It looks really fun! You're on fire today!
@BrianChase You're right, Gunman Clive was really short, but still fun. As for the other titles you recommended, I'll give them a look. Thanks!
Good point! In my tired state I forgot to mention how much fun I had with Gunman Clive. Great game, but because of that the shortness made me even more sad.
So I got Megatroid, and I gotta say it's pretty awesome. It's pretty much what I was looking for. I really like how the game randomly generates a level based on an entered code as well as all the upgrades in the shop. These give it a lot of replay value. BTW, it actually is Xperia PLAY optimized, but only in-game, which means the menu buttons are only accessible via touch. That doesn't really matter though.

Platform game on Xplay?

There are some nice 2D or 3D platform game on Playstore? I love that genre and I'd like to play some game like that...

Chek out some of the games by Orange Pixel. They've always been strong XP supporters, with almost all of their games optimized. They have a strong retro feel and are generally well made.

Games to play when stressed/depressed?

I know, it's a weird ask.. But I get both of the mentioned things a lot. And a lot of the time, if I don't play guitar, I play games. I need good game suggestions that are casual but addictive/distracting to get my mind away. Can be either free or paid for.
Thanks in advance!

Besides the usual well-known games (Cut the rope, where is my water, etc)
I would recommend 'Music Hero' if you like the guitar hero concept (quite basic, but it lets you play every song in your playlist)
Not so casual, but if you're looking for fun, very humoristic and addictive game- try 'The bard's tale' - it supposed to work fine with your device (but make sure you have at least 3Gb of free storage, because this game is massive!)

Adventure graphic novel game such as "The Last Express" is quite an experience as well. (Ever heard of games like Myth before!?)
Or you can try racing games like Asphalt :good:

Yes yes I have! I'm not a fan of tower defence or racing games, though. I like puzzle games, and not-too-intense RPGs like 9th Dawn. I enjoyed Osmos alot, too.
If you are not into hardcore RPG then try Black Gate: Inferno by Glu for your RPG simple hack and slash
Try gba games with emulator.
You can find many games there.
Also 72in1 is a good game that gives you video game experience. Not available in Google play

Let me guess...your phone is not a iPhone 4, right? Mine is...and whenever I feel bored, I simply listen to the witticisms of Siri, the virtual phone assistant. In fact I have even jotted down a few of these Siri-isms here - at blog.teks.co.in.
My advice - get an iPhone, and spend ur me-times with Siri. Certainly works for me! :good:

Osmos HD
A really cool game which has pleasing music and available for both Android and iOS is Osmos. It is kind of a sciency-fiction kind of game where you absorb other objects like cells. Sounds a bit weird but it is a good time-waster. It is about one of the only games I have ever played on my phone. It is paid but I think there is a free version to test out.

Yes and besides that, as if I'm going to spend money on an iPhone. If I had that money I would so go for a higher end Android. I'm not the typical iPhone hater but I just really can't stand the OS.
Try infectonator if you're into zombie games. Its beautifully crafted with pixel art graphics and with tons of replay value. Its very addicting and for sure you'll be hooked for hours.
