Looks like Japan's getting a extra special dose of Xperia PLAY lovin... - Xperia Play Themes and Apps

http://www.sonyericsson.co.jp/product/docomo/so-01d/special/play.html
So far... what DOESN'T look familiar is:
• Huang Fang Super Hero (Beat 'em Up? On Xperia PLAY? Where do I sign?!)

• DARK SPIRITS (looks nice, actually)
• Drift Circuit
• Lumines (a much more faithful-looking version than what we have, BTW)
• Minus Zero
• Puyo Puyo Fever
• Shinobi (It's called "Karakuri Ninja Transfer"... but the icon's clearly ripped from a Shinobi game)
• Sonic the Hedgehog (This was a ***** to control on a touch-screen, I'm sold)
• Wonder Land
• Devil May Cry 4: refrain
• El Shaddai (FOR REALZ? I do hope they use the soundtrack from the console El Shaddai)
• Super Monkey Ball (Meh... I kinda feel like this game is best as an accelerometer game, but whatever)
• Cho Aniki Zero
I'm hoping this doesn't end up being a repeat of SymbianOS... in Japan, smartphone gaming took off like 5 years before we got into the swing of things. I, for one, will be very jealous if we don't get DMC4: refrain here... especially after putting up with those atrocious touch controls on my old iDevice.

The only one of these I want is Devil May Cry 4

some of these, like Sonic The HedgeHog are already out in japan. Rush jobs using emulators im sure but still official releases. I went so far as to spoof my market to the Japanese market and download the games, but sadly they only work on Japanese devices.
I didn't even know DMC:4 was coming out for Android!! I though Capcom had abandoned us!

can we get these working on UK and US devices

Games that don't have Xperia play controls that you'd like upgraded

So I thought I would make a thread we can all contribute to that has games that we like that don't have Xperia Play controls that we would like upgraded. If we can all help eachother out and email the developers for these games that we would like that update to be added maybe some will listen.
I will start with a game that is a remake of a shooter I liked when I was younger. I tried playing it and while the graphics are sick I just can't stand the lack of XPlay controls:

I did email the devs on this one and they said they are considering it.
• Caligo Chaser
• Caligo Chaser...
• CALIGO CHASER
• CALIGO FREAKING CHASER
• AGH... CALIGO CHASER!!!
...no, seriously though, you do not make such an awesome beat'em up/RPG hybrid with those borderline insane touch-screen controls... I do actually have a list though .
• Inotia 3 - Children of Carnia
• Shift
• ILLUSIA (This technically *does* work on Xperia PLAY, but there's a lot of control conflicts)
• Third Blade
• Caligo Chaser (as if I didn't make that clear earlier )
• DESTINIA
• PicoPicoQuest
• Elemental Knights Online
• Alphadia
• Battle for Rebirth/Fighting Tiger
• Castle of Shadows
• Demon Hunter (Though if we got Castle of Shadows, I really wouldn't care about this)
• Across Age DX
• Krazy Kart Racing
I actually have contacted a number of devs about this... most usually are up for the idea, but don't know how to structure their game for Xperia PLAY because of unavailability in their country. I hope that the Xperia PLAY's Japanese release changes things.
For developers who want to make Xperia PLAY games without having an Xperia PLAY to test on, I did put together THIS GUIDE and have been handing it out to them. Com2Us (Caligo Chaser) liked it a lot, but still didn't bother optimizing their game for Xperia PLAY... only one that actually went the whole mile and optimized their game after I sent that guide was PJS Coding (creators of Further Beyond Fighting)... and regardless of what complaints could be made about the production quality, the controls were spot on.
A lot of developer's games could benefit from Xperia PLAY's controls :/

Thanks for letting me know this. Is there a way to transfer data of a game onto another device which isn't rooted?

Cool. Best bit is they havnt made the graphics really bad compared to the tegra 3 version. Its only missing the tinyest bits of detail, which is made up by the gamepad support

NICE!! I grew up games like this and, Kings Quest, Quest for Glory, Space, Ace, Dragons Lair. Awesome to see that its out now and in full support of our phone. Awesome news. :good:
Edit: You know what kills me..... our phone is around 18 months old, didnt get much love was overhyped and undervalued. But still gets some great game support and $ony meanwhile has "no plans" to release a sequal. Sure it may not have generated a cash cow that perhaps they were hoping, but with the attention it is still receiving that has to mean something to them........ but as they keep saying.... nop XP2......... it just boggles my mind.....

[Q][DEV]Bomberman64 Battle mode port - Project

hey guys ,

first of all i have to tell , iam not skilled enough to create 3d games or something like that.
I think many many people here still know it , the first Bomberman in 3D released for the N64 in the late 90's by Hudson Soft
Even the story mode had its own charme and was kind of enjoyable, the real reason to play this game was....
THE BATTLE MODE!
Usually playing this with friends this was the most addicting thing for alot of people when they remember the good old N64 times.
Sadly this game was never released to any other platform again so its only playable on the real n64 console and some emulators nowdays -.-
also if you want to try any N64 Emulator released for Android , it will disappoint you:crying:
so the idea came up of porting this games battle mode , there are alot of easy to make low quality bomberman clones which works well and so on,, but nothing is close enough to Bomberman 64's battle mode!
things which made this multiplayer mode so unique :
- the 3d maps
- vertically bomb kicking and throwing
- cute sound effects
and on android phones this could include a multiplayer mode through WIFI with a host client or sth like that:fingers-crossed:
battle mode gameplay
so if anyone of this community search for new projects or watn to let it happen and feel like THIS :fingers-crossed: , please try this !
here i dumped the 3d-models and sprites of the 6 battle stages (uncleaned with some trash polygone inside, can be opened by blender or 3dmax) - bonus stages not includet ^^

Looks nice! Well done.
In my opinion you have to update the design a little bit. Looks a bit oldy, and I think that with today's competition in the play store you must be with a leading design to shine.
Thanks for the advise
