[Q] Any way to recognize / import .mov files from camera? - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

This is a situation that just shouldn't exist.
My new Canon S100 shots movies only in .mov format.
My Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus does not recognize .mov format.
When my camera is connected to my tablet, the tablet transfers images just fine, but it refuses to see .mov.
Unfortunately, I need to transfer my files directly from my camera to this tablet. Easily converting .mov on another computer before transferring is not an option.
Any solutions to this problem?

Have you tried any other player from the market like MX Video player ?
P_

Although MX player can play .mov, installing it does not help this tablet recognize .mov from my camera.

question are you doing direct connect via usb or can u eject the sd card and just use your reader

Apple only produces a QuickTime plug-in for Mac OS X and Windows, and hasn't developed a QuickTime application for Android. It's no way to play MOV on Android phones or tablets. If you want to get MOV files onto Android, you need convert MOV(QuickTime) to Android friendly format i.e. MP4 and then get it play.

Desktop Video Player

I have posted this in general as I suspect it applies to other phones as well.
My HTC Rose can record videos in wither MP4 or H.263 format and for this, it works.
But when I download these files onto my desktop PC, I am having trouble finding a video player that will play back video AND SOUND.
VLC (which normally supports anything) does not support the samr codec. Windows Media player can't even play Video.
Now to date the only thing I can find that plays these things is Quicktime player from Apple but this is one piece of software I really don't want on my PC so what is everybody else using out there to play the video files they take on their phones?
Thanks
Hy,
do you have testet ffplay or mplayer on your desktop pc?
Greatz

Stream AVCHD videos from computer to PlayStation 3 via DLNA

MTS joiner for DLNA Sharing: Play AVCHD from PC on HDTV through PS3
DLNA makes it easy for sharing media files within the same network. The DLNA-certified products could connect, find, get and communicate automatically, and you can share, send, play and print files with a few finger clicks.
If you got DLNA-certified camera, the files could be streamed easily. However, there is only limited number of DLNA-certified cameras like Sony DSC-G3 with MotionJPEG as video format, and Canon WFT-E5. What if you have updated your PS3, Windows 7, but have videos on SD700, which is non-DLNA-compliant?
You can also stream AVCHD videos from computer to PS3 via DLNA, and Aunsoft Final Mate will help you share and play AVCHD files with less buffering time. You can link and join several MTS files into one MTS file, and there is no buffering between each clip when playing AVCHD video.
There are only 3 steps for lossless mts/m2ts output with super fast speed, so that you can connect and enjoy AVCHD videos without any gap between clips.
Step 1. Import AVCHD files to Aunsoft Final Mate.
Run Aunsoft Final Mate as the best MTS joiner for DLNA sharing without re-encoding. For files on camera, just connect HDcam to PC via USB cable, and you will face a wizard to import files. For files on PC hard drive or external hard drive disk, go to the Resource tab and click the Add file path icon to locate the folder with the AVCHD files.
Step 2. Join AVCHD files for PlayStation 3 with no conversion.
Click the Create New Movie button, drag and drop the clips from the Resource tab or Camcorder tab to the movie ID. The files will be merged into a single file as one movie. You can also create more movies for different events and social occasions.
Step 3. Lossless MTS output for DLNA.
Click the Export button, and click the OK button to start joining 1080/60p MTS files with 5.1 audio for DLNA streaming.
Just wait for a few seconds, and the movies would be ready. Just put the file to the video folder for sharing, and PS3 could find the videos on the PC via DLNA, and play MTS movies on HDTV without buffering too many times.
Tips:
For playing AVCHD camcorder videos on Android smartphone via DLNA, Aunsoft Final Mate also can convert AVCHD to MP4, so that the content could stream and play on devices like Motorola Droid X, Samsung Galaxy S II, Nokia N and Google Nexus S.

[Q] Video Streaming From Pc

What possible solutions are there for streaming content whether it music or video from a PC to the htc Sensation, i have a lot of movie content and would like it if i could choose video files and play them (stream) so i dont have to download it to the sd card via USB.
Thanks.
I use VLC Stream & Convert, VLC Direct seemed to be very choppy when I played avi's from my PC.
You open VLC on your computer and add a Web Interface for it to work.
The buildin video stream player worked out of the box with my home NAS. I can stream 720p avi's over wifi. All I needed was ES File Explorer for access to NAS.
That is using standard UPnP protocols I think, so it should work with your windows media centre. You will have to enable sharing of your files and actually point the WMC to the folders that you want to share.
Try it and report back,
rio
PS: if you have lots of MKV files, I'm still looking for streaming options...
Thanks for the info, using es explorer did just what i needed, it does play choppy like you said but i think its to do with the player and not with the connection. I am able to play high quality blu ray files 10-20gb but its even more slower so will need to find a better video player i would say...
Whats the best video player out there ??
we need vlc for android

[Q] Downloading video files from camera

Is it possible to download video files directly from a camera via the USB connection? I have plugged the camera in and can download still pictures OK (JPEG) but the Xoom doesn't see any video files.
I have downloaded both AVI and MOV files to my laptop from my camera and have then transferred them to the Xoom OK but it would be easier to just transfer the video files directly from the camera to the Xoom.
I can play both AVI and MOV formats OK on the Xoom.
Any help would be appreciated.
Running Honeycomb 3.2 at present - wi-fi and 3G version in the UK (can't wait for ICS to arrive!)

MOV video files audio stutter using mx player 1.7.32-40 on samsung tablet 10.1

I'm trying to use MX Player 1.7.32-40 with codec v1.7.32rev1 to play MOV files on a samsung tablet 10.1 (P7510). When using the HW+ setting to play files, the video plays fine but the audio is constantly stuttering and cutting in and out. I'm trying to use this program to replay video files taken on a Canon DSLR by using the DSLR Controller app. I transfer the MOV video files directly to the sd card on the samsung tablet so being able to view them properly without the audio dropping in and out is important.
I would appreciate any help or advice as to how I can make this work properly. Thank you for any assistance with this inquiry.
Sincerely,
Rick
