i want to sak if any one got KERNEL 3 to work on Nexsus S with ics?
Do you mean linux kernel version 3.0. We won't have a 3.0 kernel on the Nexus S until Google pushes the OTA or drops the propriety drivers for the NS. ICS right now runs on the 2.6.35 kernel using a combination of leaked libs and libs pulled from the Galaxy Nexus. Once the device specific drivers for the NS are released we will see 3.0 on the NS

I rooted my Nexus a few days ago and was looking at the kernels kernel manager had but neither of them are 2.3.5 compatible nor have I seen any kernel on the development forum thats 2.3.5 compatible. Is it just too early for them yet?
Matr1x is 2.3.5 compatible....I just havent updated the kernel manager post lol
i'm stuck with the stock kernel in ICS, is there another kernel working in 4.0?
Nope, Asus hasn't released the kennel source yet
I have been using a linux 2.6.29 kernel with several changes for my hardware and I have been using it with Android 1.6 so far, now I would like to jump to Android 2.3.
As Google released Gingerbread with kernel 2.6.35, I am wondering if that version is required or it is just a matter of device driver availability.
Is it possible/feasible to use a older kernel version like 2.6.29?
does Gingerbread require a specific new version kernel feature? if yes, what?
!!Ventanas!!
It depends entirely on your device, because it is largely about the drivers.
If you were talking a major Kernel version bump it could be an issue with the general software as opposed to the hardware drivers, but with that small of a jump, you would just need to make sure you could compile the drivers for your phone against that kernel version.
It's just like Linux on a computer, really.
I can go up to ice cream sandwich with 2.6.29 so no gingerbread doesn't need 2.6.35.

Today I saw they launched linux 3.4 with merged android code into it, which made me happy. And also I read that they fixed the powersaving problem since 3.1 to 3.3, so my question is the one above. Will chefs be able to "port" 3.4 kernel to ICS anytime sooner or later? I know I should wait and see, as it is a kernel that was just released, but I just want to know wether this is possible.
It will most likely be merged and release for our Sensation. That is usually what Faux and showp do.

Thanks for the info, I remembered in my old desire that for example there were no 2.6.35 kernels for gb, so I thought it would not be possible. Hope to see it sooner than later
What could happend if I change my 2.6.35 kernel to 3.0?? if aint no official updates?
I mean, my phone says android 4.1, but using a kernel from 2.3?
