Value of new Transformer and Dock - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I haven't been keeping up with store prices and availabilities lately, but what's a good private sale price for a brand new unopened TF101-A1 and the dock? Would it make more sense to try to sell on eBay internationally? Suggestions?
Thanks y'all!
Sent from my RubiX CubeD XtremE MT4GS using xda premium

Cheapest price I have ever seen for a new 16gb transformer tf101 w/o dock was 250$ on black Friday. With dock I have seen a new one for 430$ Canadian during a sale a few months back.
I keep looking at selling mine on swappa.com. It's a website for selling used android devices in case you have never heard of it. The cheapest that has sold used on there has been 325$
I am planning on selling mine with an hdmi cable for 300$ so I can get back some of my investment to use towards a prime (whenever that comes out lol). That's why I have been doing a bit of research on prices in the past few weeks.
Ripping people off makes me feel guilty.
Personally I don't think the tablet is worth less than 300$ unless its damaged or stolen, and the dock is worth at least 90$ if it's in great condition. Some places sell it for 149$ still.

GameStop currently has brand new Transformer for $299....

The cheapest it has ever been was $249 at Best Buy during Black Friday. I bought two as presents at that price as I already have mine. 2x249=$499. Same price as the Prime but you get 2:1..

That is online though - what about at the local stores? Surely they still home some somewhere (a co-worker got one the other day)..

Thanks for the input so far... Are the docks pretty much staying consistent at the $149 price? I'm not trying to rip anyone off either; just doing the same and collecting funds for the Prime I've got preordered lol

Take a look here

I was just at Best Buy in Rancho Bernardo, CA today and the docks are $99. I suspect the value of our Transformers will tank as soon as people start getting their hands on the Prime. Luckily I will be able to take mine back to Best Buy when mine comes in.

Got someone coming to buy the set for $450 in the morning, which seems pretty consistant with the prices y'all are saying in here ($349 + $99). Thank for all the input!

Sold!
Got it sold for $450 with dock, no hassle. A thanks click has been given to everyone who contributed!

for a bit of perspective, i just bought a 6 month old Tf101, 16GB, with dock and an 8Gb microSD card for £360 shipped in the uk.
am happy with that deal!

Yes; just for ****s and giggles, here is the text of the posting in case you want to copy any of it (feel free!)...
NEW/SEALED ASUS Transformer & Dock - $450 (Spaghetti Junction)
One new TF101-A1 ASUS Eee Pad Transformer (16Gb), and its accompanying dock. These are both new SEALED IN THE RETAIL BOX units shipped directly from ASUS. Originally $399 + $149, this is about $100 less than getting it retail, and you don't have to worry about shipping, etc. This *will* be getting the Google Android 4.0 ("Ice Cream Sandwich") update, but it is not available yet! It *IS* rootable, but that responsibility is yours; I can try to do it for you after you've purchased it, but I will not do so beforehand.
PLEASE:
- Know what the Eee Pad Transformer is. I had someone who came to buy it and wanted to open the package because he didn't know how it compared to an iPad. I will NOT break the seal before you buy it; there are plenty of used ones on Craigslist if you want to see what one looks like.
- Do not email me with scams. That means no shipping this, no money orders, no food stamps, and no Brazilian currency. Brazilian women are an exception.
- I'm mostly firm on the price, but if you have something you think might be of value to me, or want to try to negotiate, feel free to email me. Do NOT, however, try to negotiate once I've agreed to a price and meeting you. Don't waste my time, and I won't waste yours.
- Feel free to email me with questions about this if you have any!

That's pretty cool!
I bought an HP sleeve from BB that was an exact fit to the TF101/dock, but now that I'm switching to just the TF201 (I don't think I need the dock), I doubt it'll be something I use... It'll be time to start finding a decent case/sleeve/etc...

Funny. The Transformer sans dock is $299 at Best Buy right now.

[Q] Best price for an Infuse

OK, I'm ready to give up my Backflip, and move up to a Infuse. I saw that Best Buy has them for around $100, any better deals out there? I am elgible for upgrade, with ATT, and saw that Amazon has it for $150, and Walmart for $130.
Damn 100$ isn't bad at all, doubt you will find better.

I just upgraded to the Samsung Infuse 4G through AT&T website and got a refurbished one for $19.99.
Just today 8/27/2011 so dont know how long its been at this price. I had been checking in on it for some time but the owest they had dropped the refurbished one
to was $149.99 so I was surprised it was $19.99 so I had to get it.
I picked mine up for $97 at Sam's Club.

Wal-Mart Special!
Just seen today with a qualifying 2 year contract they are going to for $98.99..I paid $160.00 for mine at our local Costco.
If you're a costco member, it might be worth the extra money to buy it there. They give you 90 days to decide if you like the phone, with unlimited exchanges and model swaps.
I believe, if you wait a week, you can get the sgs2. Fyi

$19 at Costco ... special sale. There was a big sign last Thursday on the mobile booth. Think it lasts a few weeks. This was in Union NJ but I assume it is national (I think it is in their latest coupon book).

More like "at least" 3 weeks.
bleh...at this point I say wait for the Holiday
Thats for the info! I'm not a costco member, but will look into that this morning. My thought on the sg2 is that it will be $200 when it is released (next week, next month, whenever), and will not come into the $50 range anytime soon.

I believe you can tell them you want to "check it out" and they will give you a 1 day shopping pass but you pay 10% more. It's also possible you can buy at the mobile kiosk without being a member (just like the pharmacy). Besides, you must have at least 1 friend who is a member.
Just looked online, Costco on line is $119. I did notice that several of the phone prices are cheaper instore, vs online. Walmart online was $129, but $98 in the store. Might be time for a road trip, nearest Costco is 50 miles away.
or, as my wife is advising me, I could just wait........

I doubt you'd be able to buy it without a membership. I don't know about the one-day pass, but when I purchased mine at costco, the mobile kiosk sent me to the regular checkout with a voucher to pay (where they checked my costco card as usual), and they had me wait there while someone ran back to pick up my phone/accessories.
One additional point is that you do get a free car charger and some other useless crap along with your purchase, so if the prices are similar, you save the $5-10 if you actually want one.

Holiday Specials for GSIII on Verizon

Anyone know of upcoming specials I might wait for?
I'm looking at pulling the trigger on one of these in the next 3-10 days.
Looks like right now if I want a Black one I can get it for $199 on contract.. but if I want white or another color, I'm paying at least $244-249.. which I don't understand, but whatever.
Thanks for your input!

Too late now but sams club had a free with two year contract. I'm sure something like that will come around again.
I had purchased mine at a 3rd party verizon dealer that offered price matching and took in a screen shot of Amazon's price and got the phone for 60$ (though the week before i had paid 80 for my girlfriend's the same way, the price went down after a week, i was quite surprised)

What do you suggest then is the cutoff point for what makes sense and what doesn't? I'm dealing with a thunderbolt with poor battery life and slow response time, but I like having no contract. Any tips on how to analyze this?

I got mine at staples on saturday and made $30 on the deal. They took my old Dinc2 and gave me $50 for it. I got another $5 in store coupon which brought it down to $45r for the phone. They also were doing a $50 mail in rebate on all phones $99 and up which puts $5 in my pocket. They also gave me a $25 Google play gift card. Needless to say, I upgraded both my phone and my wife's phone too. With both phones they paid me $60 to take them.

This is how they make money by boosting the shipping cost. I live in China I know how much they pay the phone and I know how much it cost to ship a phone. I shipped a guitar for 40$ in Montreal from Shanghai so 99$ for a phone makes no sense.
They are local to me. I wonder how much if i picked it up and pay cash.
Will I get LTE on AT&T with this one?
Isnt it best to wait for a Korean version? Dont they support both lte and octa core?

If the Korean Version did have octacore and support LTE it would be worth waiting for, as long as it wasn't 3-4 months down the line anyway.

I was tempted to order one myself but wanted confirmation that it was the I9500 and not the Snapdragon 600 I9505. So I sent him a message early this morning. As yet - no reply !!!
This doesn't inspire confidence in buying from him even though he has a very good seller rating. Also, as you say I can only see 1 positive feedback from someone who has purchased an S4 - yet he has sold over 1000.
I was prepared to order this morning but not now. Especially after reading your message and not getting a reply to my earlier question, I'm not sure what to do.
I hope you get yours and at least you're covered by eBays Buyer Protection should anything go wrong !!! Keep us posted.

Thanks for the update.
I contacted someone who had left positive feedback for purchasing an S4. I asked whether it was a genuine Octa I9500, you never know with alot of online retailers simply copy/pasting specs, and he confirmed that it was.
He also mentioned that the packaging was in spanish/portugese or something so looks like these might have been destined for South America maybe.
I got this reply..
Dear Buyer,
Thank you for your order. We will email you the tracking details to your order once it is processed and shipped. We are working hard to get your order processed. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Once your order is shipped you can follow the progress of your package online

Well, that sucks because you are paying $99 shipping for FedEx International Priority so even if they are really busy - they owe it to you to ship your order out in a timely fashion.
I have just placed my order - it's working out about the same as buying the Snapdragon 600 version here in the UK, as long you don't get it hit by Customs that is !!! Hopefully, I get by the weekend at the latest otherwise I won't be a happy bunny
Yeah i agree, still no notification of shipping!
For what it matters, I did in the end buy from this guy. It arrived today. It's a latin america destined 9500 with the Octa as advertised. The thing left the manufacturing line only about a week ago. No problems in terms of tracking or shipping (Intl is FedEx, inside of the FedEx box it was wrapped in a UPS wrapper). Btw: European users: it comes with a US-power adapter, so probably you should order a Note 2 charger to go with it (works flawlessly).

I ordered it Friday and it arrived yesterday (from across the globe!) but it missed the daily courier truck so I got it only today.
In the end it was worth it because my country apparently doesn't give a crap about adding VAT to inbound packets and didn't ask me to pay nothing in addition, so I actually paid no taxes at all on it, i.e. 537€. (Plus shipping)

Help me get a SIV!

Hey guys and gals! I'm itching for the new S4. I just opened a new 2 year contract back in December and I'm growing tired of my boring iPhone 4S.
Which also has warranty until December off this year.
I'm looking for a creative idea to help me pick up this wonderful phone. I thought about taking my mint iPhone into bestbuy for the "buy back" plan that they offer and possible add a line to my current plan but I don't want to lose my current phone number.
Do you guys have any ideas that could help me out?

Hey guys and gals! I'm itching for the new S4. I just opened a new 2 year contract back in December and I'm growing tired of my boring iPhone 4S.
Which also has warranty until December off this year.
I'm looking for a creative idea to help me pick up this wonderful phone. I thought about taking my mint iPhone into bestbuy for the "buy back" plan that they offer and possible add a line to my current plan but I don't want to lose my current phone number.
Do you guys have any ideas that could help me out?

You could try swappa.com, which is partnered with XDA and a link is conveniently located at the top of this page :good:
Ebay is my "go to" when I want to flip one phone for another. I believe there is also a XDA "marketplace" somewhere on the forum, but I do not have enough posts to try it out or tell you how good it is.

The market place section of XDA was shut down several months ago because of the problems associated with users ripping off other users.
As mentioned above XDA has partnered with Swappa which is a wonderful site started by android enthusiasts for the community.
Swappa is nice to do business on because of the system of fail checks that are in place.
There is also craigslist and eBay. With craigslist I know a lot of people that sell their devices locally for more money than it would bring online, but it really depends on the market in your area.

Xda marketplace is no more, it's swappa, cell trader online or another message board. EBay scams you out of about 15% off your earnings as listing fees, and PayPal will remove 3%
Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2
i would def recommend swappa because the buyer pays listing fee and you only have to pay paypal fees. which ebay you have to pay thier 15% fee and paypal fees and shipping too which i forgot to add that to swappa. then cancel your contract and resign up with the gs4
Thanks for the replies. I just left an AT&T store and the guy basically told me he would set me up a new line and strip it down to a 10$ dumb phone plan and throw the s4 on my current line.
He was gonna take my 4s in trade which would have covered my cost for the new phone and since I'm a union member my activation fee would have been waived.
I was smiling till he told me that my brother has to be there because only he can add a line cause its his accounts. I'm authorized for everything but that! Lol

I know using the 4s as a trade is convenient but if you have the case pay the $199 for the S4 and sell the 4s, that phone is still selling for $350ish at a minimum in good shape. Just a shame to see money down the drain that doesn't have to be. I sold my Unlocked 4s about 2 months ago with a few otterboxes for about 450ish

I may go that route actually, and use my sgs2 till I can sell it. I have a small hardware glitch with my current iPhone that I plan on taking in for a warranty exchange. Adding a line sucks because my brother lives roughly 2 hours away so not sure how to work the details out ya know..

Thats the easy part, just have him go get it and ship it to you. Shouldn't be more than $6 priority. If he uses a normal bank im sure you have a branch close to you and you can deposit the cash to his bank account to pay for the phone for you.
Bump for any other creative ideas. =D

My att store was able to call the account holder to add a line. He was not there with me.
Ask AT&T for an early upgrade. I believe it would be $450 for the Galaxy s4, and just sell your iPhone and pay the difference. Your brother could do the upgrade in store and have them ship you the phone for free. I did that for my dad with an iPhone 3GS before.

Sell your old phone on eBay and pay up the difference? What else are you expecting to hear? *sigh*
However, in the spirit of this thread, and moreover, the spirit of recent posts/arguments/members here on XDA, I'm posting my own question for everyone! Please DO take the time to respond. I appreciate your feedback.
~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~
Hi guys! I know this is a forum about phone development, but even though I know that, I'm going to post this anyway!
I really really want a Boeing Business Jet.
Back in December I bought a 1993 Toyota Corolla, Neon Pink, w/ 223,000 miles. It's also missing a wheel. And a door. But I manage. Only cost me $200.
What can I do to trade my Toyota for a Boeing Business Jet? I'm not against prostitution, blackmail, extortion, or murder. Anyone know where to start? I tried posting some "hitman" ads on a few darknets, but they all want to pay me with these silly "Bitcoin" things... and Boeing insists I pay for my new plane in cash, not digital coins.
Any ideas?! Please help. I'm really bored of my Toyota, and I really want a private jet.
And of all the millions of websites on the internet, I feel like this is the single most appropriate place to ask my question. Again, I know I'm sounding pretty whiny and entitled, but this is XDA developers, so I figured that's the normal.
Thanks! And again, I really appreciate any feedback!
~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~
(Oh, and if it weren't against the rules (which some of us actually do follow) right here is where I'd post a random picture of a penis.)
Thanks OP for another quality thread!
Cheers!
Why Upgrade to an 4S in decemeber? That was horrible..
I upgraded to the Note 2 in December, I have a S4 coming tommrow Early Upgrade cause Ive been through 5 notes with the same issue.

I'm extremely glad you feel that way about my post. Don't like it? Hit the back button and troll elsewhere. I felt it may have been fitting to post where I did based solely on the fact that maybe another member may have just been through the same situation and could provide some valuable information.
Thanks for wasting 20 minutes of your life coming up with that uninformative and useless post. Good luck with the jet.

Well, isn't a varying look something good?
I have hoped that Google would do something without bluetooth, but it looks a lot like this device has its own battery, gets connected via bluetooth (maybe automatically via NFC) and only comes in one layout ("ANSI" US. Because there are no people outside of murica.)
But maybe I'm wrong and it won't die in a day or two of usage -which would be nice - maybe it won't be complete and utter garbage.
Anyways, I'll order one, same goes for the N9, keep it for 12 days and send that sh*t back. Thanks EU for enforcing the right to return unsatisfactory products bought online. :good:
$120? That is beyond absurd. I'm sure someone else will swoop in with one for well under half that price. Google is pricing everything like they are Apple these days. Guess we'll have to start paying a Google tax now!

Google is really trying to kill what nexus once stood for! Maybe android silver is upon us with that nice shiney SILVER nexus 6 and a nice shiney SILVER alloy round the sides of the nexus 9
I was looking at the specs for the first time EVER!!! of a (apple) air 2 :crying: :crying:
WTF is going on........ I will order the nexus 9:good: but in future will seriously be looking elsewhere
My next phone will not be the Nexus 6. It will be the Oneplus 2! This company has the same values nexus once had. Very intresting time for the oneplus gang nice hole in the market.

Some people will, after all people are stupid enough to by an ipad for $900. I think it will sell, but no in any large volumes. I am buying the folio case because for $40 its not a bad deal and it looks nice.

Here in the UK the keyboard case is £110, which is $177.01.

daaaaamn... $177.... If looking hard enough and have some good luck, you may even find a Nexus 7 2013 for close to that price.
And paying such a high price for a keyboard that in my opinion looks kind of generic (like many you'd see in an Amazon search), I wonder what HTC is thinking or is really offering that justify the price, because if we go by looks, this keyboard ain't it.

Note that the Nexus Player is a mere $100.
Google hasn't conquered the living room yet, so they don't mind no profit in that area.

Google doesn't care much what we say or think. All they "care" about (in aggregate) is that we're buying them.

Please stop it with this "Google is betraying us"-nonsense. They are a company just like any other company that deploys market strategies to build a brand and to monetize afterwards, just like any other, and they can sell their products at the price they see fit. It is up to you to agree or not with your wallet. Google doesn't owe us anything. Geesh!

What people need to know is that this keyboard is a mechanical keyboard, much more quality than those iPad/Logitech keyboards, I also think it's still kinda overpriced but just so you know
