Octane is a pretty sick ROM. It is fast, battery life is brilliant, and it just feels good to the experience. However, I love the look of the stock gingerbread ROM of KJ6. Would anyone care to transfer the tweaks of Octane to a Stock KJ6 ROM? Or, if it's easy enough for a guy like me who knows nothing about developing, I can do it myself with a set of directions.
I would say that this is probably pretty close to what you are looking for

AOSP is not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the stock look with no changes whatsoever. Anyways, this is a request. Because I know a lot of people, including myself, love the look of stock Galaxy S 4G and the tweaks of Octane.

I may be wrong but I believe you have to have a ROM with "init'd" support in order to implement the tweaks you desire

soma posted a rom.named simplysimple that its customed and fully debloated. if you dont like his theme you can flash the stock theme in the thread. im on phone so cant hook you up with link but search for his thread. if you want some bloat... modify the rom .zip and put the apks in their respective area. hope this helped.

I'm looking for a deodexed JVB, extended menu and 5 locks screen. Without all the other theme mods.
Maybe check docs rom kitchen in i9000 forum

I have that rom.. I just don't have a way to do the 5 locks for JVB or the extended power menu...
There are topics in the I9000 section that cover what your looking for.

Cezar has a ROM, Continuum v5 (here). maybe you could download it and extract what you are looking for. Or, just use the ROM
Because most themes IMO are ugly. I personally like the stock samsung with some small modifications. No one does that. I haven't found one rom from the developers that don't screw with the theme. Not everyone likes what you like. The best I can do is download something from the romkitchen with the stock theme and get smart little remarks when I try to ask for help.

There you go, dude. Completely stock except for xcal's kernel, 5 lock screen mod, built in ad blocking, overscroll effect and crt off. Also has launcher2, but it seems the icons in the app drawer are fuzzy, so if that bothers you, you might want to set touchjizz as the default launcher.
It also won't flash bootloaders, so you'll need to find the new 2.3 ones somewhere else. I recommend just flashing the stock jvb from samfirmware.com with xcal's kernel, then flashing this over it with CWM.
Maybe wait it out for Perception II? DG ROMs usually have a pretty stock feel to them.
MM do you know where I can find a tut on adding the extended menu and such. I'm interested in the dev part. Just hard finding anyone willing to help you get started.

The one I linked you to has the extended power menu. Doing it yourself is a bit involved.. you have to decompile the .dex/.odex executable with baksmali.jar and edit the code (.smali files), then recompile it with smali.jar and repackage the apk. I don't know if there are any actual tutorials that go in depth on the topic; at least I haven't seen any. It's really kind of a dive-in-and-do-it thing.
If you want to try adding common features like that to a bare rom though, there are a lot of precompiled versions floating around on xda where you just have to replace the .jar file in the proper directory. Just search for the feature you want and chances are pretty high that someone already made a standalone cwm flashable zip of it. Either that or you can try pulling it out of existing roms and popping it in to your own, provided they're based off of the same build of android.
You should check out MikeyMike's rom building tut. It's one of the stickied threads at the top of the general section. It goes over the basics pretty well.
thanks man. I'm going to have to give it a shot. This zip won't work with CWM 3
My Gingerbread ROM will have a very stock theme.

Oh, wacky.. thanks for telling me, I don't normally build roms for other people and I stick to CWM 2.5.

So I am running the T959VUVKD1 Deodexed ROM on the SGS4G and instead of the lockscreen that comes with stock ROMs, I would like to change it to the standard Android lockscreen.
I have used UOT kitchen but nothing gets changed, I think that the AOSP lockscreen and the SGS4G lockscreen exist simultaneously but only the SGS4G lockscreen is 'active'.
How can I change it so that I can use the Android lockscreen instead?
I don't want to use other apps such as WidgetLocker since I have had bad luck with those, and I don't want to use other ROMs since I like the default theme and cannot replicate it exactly on the UOT kitchen.
Try this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101345
I never cared much for the lockscreens, so I can't really help you. Read the thread and it might explain it all.
Keep in mind that this probably ONLY works on Froyo. It might cause a soft brick on GB.
Maybe you can flash the froyo ICBINB without the sweet acid theme. It's pretty much stock with all the tweaks and mods. Give it a test man!

That's what I'm using right now.. ICBINB Froyo with NO theme. It's a great rom. I made my own tweaks with UOT kitchen and it's perfect for me. Great battery life too.
Can anyone confirm if the adrenaline shot mod will work with RaverX3X's miui rom?

it will mess up the rom currently, i have the A.S for the miui rom ready, but it wont be released until ravers next release
ravers next release will have the tweaks already installed so there wont be any need for the a.s shot it will already be in there along with the other tweaks so that this miui rom is as fast as possible
and trust me its fast with them

RC0 was working fine so was gonna wait till rc2 or 3 to reflash. Looks like now I gotta flash rc1. Fast is one thing smooth is another. If it's both I'll be pretty stoked.

Just do a custom install and make sure data backup is enabled and you'll be good to go on rc1.
FB
Is that data backup using CWM or does the installer have it's own process? What I'm trying to say is I know it's through the installer but is it it's own backup or does it create another cwm backup.

The installer uses this uses these:
http://code.google.com/p/bonsai/source/browse/trunk/tools/data-backup
and
http://code.google.com/p/bonsai/source/browse/trunk/tools/data-restore
FB
That's pretty nice. So does it delete the backup folder it creates after install? If not is it safe to assume it's not needed and delete it.
Nope, does not delete it. It leaves a CPIO gzip file in there, but I'm thinking of changing the scripts so that they create tarballs instead since I think it'd be faster.
Nothing against Raver, I'm just liking dsextons new rom better. Miui looks too much like Ios Again, Raver is amazing but i like the stock look and feel much better.

Use a different launcher. Im not fond of the stock miui launcher but with adw on it is more tolerable. I like simple screens with the basic apps accessible. I dont mind scrolling to find a game or app I dont use daily.

bit off topic but is there anyway to change the icon png on adw launcher? I am using go launcher ex and is possible I switched from adw launcher ex because I never found a way. Agreed I don't like the Miui launcher either cannot get rid of all the apps except put in a folder, but what comes with Miui that interests me is its lockscreens plus I can have a pattern lock as well.
Hi Im currently running icbinb 2.3.7 rom and i like it it uses minimum system data, very debloated. Thank you btw to everyone that created it!

Download Google's voice search from the marketplace to search with your voice also try looking at Valhalla black edition rom its a nice ics looking theme plus a bunch of awesome tweaks and finally maybe whitehawks valhalla i believe its very stock looking with tweaks and mods
Thank's aren't asked for but appreciated
Valhalla Black is fantastic - but not the stock feel or apk's. He stripped most stock out of it but you can of course add MOST - not all - of it back if you'd like. Some of the stock removed has associated libraries and other files needed to support the app.
Same with the ROM you are on. It is more 'stockish' and you can add back back the stock apps you want.
Valhalla
Valhalla final. Runs smooth, and pretty near perfect.
Can u post a link for it please

How does it feel knowing peps are using your creation? , lol good job...
I only like stock, really really stock rom. Is this a real stock rom, or just another stockish rom with hidden mods?
I also like Retro. Can I flash this with the Community Kernel?
