I really like the car mounts they have for the Desire. I just wonder if they will activate the car dock mode (as in the upcoming original car mount)

Where can I find this on eBay? Searching for deluxe cradle yields no results...

I had one of these for my last handset (HTC S740). Different fitting but basically the same.
I used it on my nightstand to charge my phone overnight and can say the following.
It feels a bit cheap but does the job 100%. I was always able to leave the house in the morning with a fully charged phone AND a fully charged battery.
The connections are a bit odd and looking at the Desire version, nothing has changed.
The cradle has TWO USB MINI (yes Mini not Micro like the Desire has) connections. This is not a big deal as the phone plugs into the cradle and not the cradles mains charger.
One connection takes the power in and the other connects to your computer for sync. I am guessing host USB is not enough to charge the phone and a 2nd battery.
And finally, there are plenty of these on eBay for less money and looking at the delivery dates, they will get to you even from Hong Kong sooner.

Car Dock question

I'm after a Nexus One car dock, the 100% genuine article.
Problem is I'm based in France so can't get one through Google and don't want to use Ebay.
I can't find anyone who stocks them so just wondering if anyone on here knows of a source.

Wait for a bit. The Nexus One will hit stores soon, apparently, and I'm assuming the accessories will come with it, and, if not, I heard a rumor that the HTC website will be selling Nexus accessories too. I have the car dock, and the only thing I don't like about it is the built in speaker quality, other than that, it's brilliant. Well, and the fact that I have to take my case off in order to get it to fit, but I have to do that with my bedside charger dock as well.

The 3.99 euro mount I got in the local supermarket does the job and it was the speakers that was the real seller for me so if they're not up to much waiting won't kill me.

I used this mob to get my nexus one and the car dock over to Australia.
Don't know if they ship to france, but they probably do. All you do is sign up(free) you get an address with them, ship the dock to the address and they will ship it to you, they don't seem to charge commission, i think they get a discount with DHL and charge you regular price. so it seems a pretty good deal.

Car Dock

I want the official car dock... simple right?
Problem is that I live in Canada, HTC won't ship it here or to a mailbox on their side of the border. They require a US credit card or whatever. Is there any way to get these from elsewhere?

Try the usual suspects...
My recommendation is that you try to get it used from either Amazon or Ebay, I don't think that you have any other options.
I don't have the original dock, as my car has integrated bluetooth, but I bought this car mount: Kensington Windshield /Vent Car Mount with Quick-Release Cradle for iPhone/iPod touch. Yes, I know what it says, but it works perfectly with the N1, especially if you have a case and don't want to take your phone out of it every time you get in your car.
As far as a car charger, you need to get this: Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter MicroUSB Rapid Rate Charger, there is no other charger that works better than this, and it is actually very cheap (US$ 5.49). It will actually charge your phone while using navigation, with GPS and bluetooth active, and full screen brightness, that's how good this charger is.
I actually modded the mount so it will hold the cable, I will try to post a picture later on.

ebay, I tried that. I don't want to pay $200 for a car dock. They are so over priced on there. Amazon.com doesn't ship most of their stuff to canada, however I did find it on there (thanks). I will try purchasing one of these and see what happens.
In the US does HTC have a store you can walk into to buy this dock? I find it doubtful but I'm going on vacation in the US next week, thinking maybe I could pick one up...

No, HTC doesn't have stores in the US at all. I know that a few months ago, some T-Mobile stores were carrying some of the N1 accessories, but I think that that is a very long shot. If you are coming here, I would recommend that you order it from HTC and have it express mailed to wherever you will be staying, that should solve your problem. Good luck.

I used these guys to get my Nexus one to Australia. They are a mail forwarding company. they don't even charge you a commission over and above normal shipping afaik, they get a special deal with DHL and make money on the difference.
As for the credit card, mine worked when i put my normal address for the street, but put a US state as the state.

Official HTC Sensation CR S490 Desktop Cradle

I looked at Play.com and found the official HTC dock for the sensation.

£23 is a bit steep for a dock. The Kidigi dock is £18 plus it has a batter charger.
Thoughts on the official dock?

I like it, always prefer to use OEM stuff than 3rd party so might look into getting this

I wonder if this is the same dock as the one on the bell site. Although the bell dock for the sensation hasn't officially launched yet either. Can anyone confirm?

I would suggest to take the KiDiGi Docking station instead. Looks better to me!

I bought two cheap arse docks on fleabay for $14 shipped each. When this gets released though I'd likely switch as I'm a huge fan of OE accessories. Fit, finish, function is always much improved. You get what you pay for I suppose.

I'd highly recommend OE. The eBay units I bought (no name) made my screen freak out when plugged in. If I use my own HTC charger with the no name cradle it's ok. However, the generic cradle doesn't have nice little cutouts for the volume rocker switch so you have to be careful placing it on the dock. Overall, I'd buy an HTC unit if they sold them in the US.

I'd buy it. But I have the kidigi dock. Disappointed it doesn't go into dock mode...

It's the kidigi one.

i picked up one of these at the local US t-mobile store and this dock is nice but it puts the phone in this really bright "dock" mode. I rather have the clock instead.
there is also a "video" button but no clue what it does. i left it depressed. I also got the car dock as well.

I don't even know why Motorola trusted me with this tiny ass adapter But I lost the darn thing in a day. Does anyone know where to find a replacement that isn't from China and won't take a month to get here? I tried contacting Motorola about it but all they said was contact Verizon, which is useless considering they don't sell it. Any advice?

Not an answer, but similar question...does anyone know if a usb c to 3.5 mm male cord exists?
My headphones have a removeable cord 3.5mm male on both ends...itd be nice to have a cable as opposed to an adapter.

I could have sworn earlier today or yesterday I saw what tour looking for on Verizon website. I would start calling g local stores and see if they have any in stock.
In fact I know I saw one on the Verizon site. Just don't remember which day.

Just went to go look all over the "shop" section on their website, didn't see anything, you may have gotten it confused with their Micro USB to USB C connector. Thanks anyway man

A search on google yields plenty of ebay results, Im even more glad I got two now.
The ones on ebay are pretty cheap if you can find reviews in there to look at

Yeah they're pretty cheap, but they all come from China.

I am thinking that will be the only option as the original is from China...and I briefly looked into it when I first bought the phone, I was then unlucky enough to receive a defective device and returned it for a replacement...well the adapter was in the bag not the box so I got a spare for the inconvenience of returning to the store.

Honestly, if you're a regular listener to music it might be time to go BT.
I've been using BT almost exclusively for a long time and and it's really nice.
First, no tangling of cords. No having to un-knot the mess when you take 'em out of your pocket or bag... no worry about snagging them on something when I'm sitting on the bus communicating to work.
Second, additional controls. Most BT headsets have controls for volume as well as track control so you can adjust without having to open the music app on your phone if you playing a game, checking email, or reading a book. Or...
Third, you don't need to be right next to your phone. You could have your phone tucked away in a purse or bag or briefcase or backpack and still listen to music. Or you could have it sitting on the charge on the counter while you're moving around the house... as long as you're not too far away of course.
Not, I'm not a serious audiophile, so I admit that there may be some degradation of sound quality going via BT. It's no problem for me, but I can understand that it might be so for some people. But unless your the type that really needs super good sound quality... or you just don't have the extra cash handy, BT is the way to go in my humble opinion.

I too only found ones from China, and I finally found a listing in the US for the exact same product in the chinese listings, the white one, and I bought 3 of them. Huge mistake, don't go for them. They don't support stereo headphones :silly:
Huge waste of money. I too decided to go bluetooth as the poster above me, I use a pair of Beats Studio 2.0 (I know you guys hate beats, blah blah blah) and they work great. I did manage to RMA my phone though, as I was having some issues with the power button, and they just sent me a completely new Moto Z Force Droid in box, so I have a spare turbo charger and a new headset adapter

Lol, same here. My charger and fingerprint scanner **** the bed in a week. Got my new one though and so far, smooth sailing.

I hope that will be good wth a sennheiser hd700, I have a FIIO E11 amplifier but I would prefer It works without it, just with this cable would be perfect !
