I use android revolution hd 3.6.13 and had the update over the air, but since ive rooted my phone none of the gps programs find a signal? I know for sure it worked before, but now never get a signal. Google maps, navigon none of them get a signal, any ideas?

how long have you waited for the GPS to find a signal? I mean, sometimes (especially after flashing a ROM ?) it may be really long!
Do the applications ask you to turn GPS ON when they start, or do you put GPS ON before starting the apps?
Also, you can try an app like A-GPS injector, from the market, that will update the list and position of satellites (requires datas to get the update)
Use the gps fix from hellstorm, search for the thread

Install on cwm, reboot, open maps, and wait, maybe you need to wait like 5 minutes the first time

Wipe EFS data
You could wipe the EFS data, it worked for me, and it's supposed to be very effective. Here is a link to a thread that has the instruction for how to do so: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12764930&postcount=1

This is the quick fix, but if you want really fast gps fix, you should take the time and do as recomended in this thread. It's explains how to edit your gps.config to match your contry.

What kernel are you using? Is it the bundled kernel in the rom or did you flash another?
And maybe update your superuser app? I know another member had an issue with that specifically.
But my experience is that certain kernels don't play well with gps/agps, so I always tell people to try to get the kernel that is bundled in the rom, which devs usually test before releasing or a kernel closest to the stock kernel.
And if you are using any of the fixes here on xda. Do not use the gps fix app with them. Also, when you go into the /system/etc section make sure you don't have the suplrootcert file in there and the permissions of the new gps.conf file looks like this:

Hi,
If your device is rooted, why don't ya give a try for installing SetDNS from GooglePlay? SetDNS comes with 2 version (one is for FOC-version for rooted and another is trial version for unrooted one) SetDNS comes along with various DNS servers like GoogleDNS (8.8.8.8), OpenDNS, and etc. [Servers' speed may differ due to distance and time needed for your phone internet data exchange (UL and DL) with server]
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.mytechie.setDNS&hl=en [HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ROOTED DEVICEs, because may collapse Wifi if installed in Non-ROOTED devices]
I tried with my Rooted ICS-ish X10i 2.3.7 near public cafe, and it worked as it promised. Speed for installing GooglePlay's apps enhanced from speed 20+kb/s to 200+kb/s.
If you see no difference, perhaps problem lies either in your device's build.prop or the network operator's coverage. Hope this helps
Sincerely,
whitefang
If This helps or convinces you, pls kindly Hit "Thanks" Button [/COLOR]
You can't really boost it as such but you can try this. Go to the market and download a firewall. Enable only those apps which are used by you to access the net. This should increase speed as apps using the net for sending anonymous data and adservices would be denied internet access.

Haha sure, i can try. Can give your Phone's Android Version info? You can check yours like this [Settings>About Phone>Scroll down to the bottom to see your Info(Android Version,Baseband,BuildVersion] .I assume your is Stock Version (Means haven changed before/original and official version). Because due to different versions, methods of rooting may vary
The SetDNS apps is one-click-ready. All Configuration are pre-set. No need to worry about the apps.
PS: I can only recommend or guide you to certain path, further action Take Ya Own Risk hehe. You may Check More details about rooting in Here(XDA) or many websites for ensuring your ROOTING process for high chances of success Google is always Your Friend

Code:
# 3G Dns
# IPv4
net.dns1=8.8.8.8
net.dns2=8.8.4.4
ROM boots OK (with the usual FC)
Added my carrier's APN manually - still get the "No SIM card found " error when adding/saving the APN
3G works .....
After a restart, 3G still works even though there is no APN shown and I still get the "No SIM card found" error.
The web browser works and the weather updates when opened (after I added my location) but not in the clock on the home screen. I Can sign in with my Gmail and Facebook accounts

Just want to be sure I'm looking in the right spot. I'm on stock 4.1.1 android. I'm looking in the system folder at build.prop. My build.prop file looks to be 5.76k in size. I'm using root explorer to look at this file.
I just read it all again and I do not see this setting in there.
It doesnt have to be there cause its built into it the system by default. The default wifi scan is 90 so just add your line to the prop file and reboot.
Almost everything has a default value built in except for obvious stuff. Thats how we change the values on boot, it will change the default value to our given one.
Maybe its too late to reply but the app called ROM toolbox pro can do it for you (including many more). Open the app, go to performance tab, build.prop Editor and swipe to the right to see often used values to change including wifi scan interval...

all the ones I asked if something changed with this modified build.prop line, told "not". I tried scan interval 15, 90,120, 300, 600, but tablet continued to look for new wifi connections every 5 seconds in every case.

[ALPHA APP (V 1.10) ]
Disclaimer: This app only modifies the build.prop, so it should be harmless.
However, I am not responsible if your phone explodes, melts, dies, changes color, disappears, or any other humorous example.
On many roms, users experience a call echo problem. This is where the person on the other end of the line states that your phone is echoing.
Fluency- or noise filtering - could be the cause of you'r echo.
Another cause could be the Call Frequency/Band.
What this app does, is essentially try to optimize the build.prop settings with the Fluency/Noise Suppressing/ AANC all disabled and the AMR Wideband Codec enabled when you click the Disable button.
This app was created for my own personal use, and I am sharing it with you free of charge, but feel free to donate to me if this app helps you.
This includes various tweaks found all over XDA. If you are an original poster which discovered any of these tweaks, feel free to PM me to be recognized in this post.
Soon, I will attempt to find all original contributors of the tweaks used and modify this OP accordingly.
Tweaks Include:
___________________________________________________
Fluence mode and type
Fluence Voicecall (on/off)
Voice Clarity (on/off)
AANC (on/off)

Speaker Protection (on/off)
In Call Mic2
Handset Mic
Audio Noise Suppressor (on/off)
Audio SSR
AMR Wideband Codec (on/off)

This app may or may not fix the echo problem for you, you will just need to try it and see.

Good to hear!
Hey @stvn1337, I am using JDCTeam Nougat ROM for OnePlus X and some of my callers are complaining about hearing their own echo on the phone. The same applies when using the speaker phone on Skype calls. This doesn't really happen all the time, so it's random (yet frequent).
Note that I've tried changing some of the settings in /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml but none of that seems to be fully addressing the issue...
Can you please let me know which parameters does your app change in build.prop so I can maybe try to do these changes manually on my OnePlus X?
Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid not. The only possible workaround for now to avoid this annoying echo for my callers is to use a bluetooth or wired headset.
Speakers don't work anymore.
I used this and now while on calls, if I put my phone on speaker, I cannot hear anything. It just makes a distorting sound when the person on the call speaks.

The build prop settings that have been modified will need to be reversed. If the Defleunce app toggle isn;t helping then try deleting these lines from build.prop using a root build prop editor:

persist.audio.fluence.speaker
persist.audio.handset.mic

Fluence Voicecall (on/off)
Voice Clarity (on/off)
AANC (on/off)
Handset RX Type
Speaker Protection (on/off)
In Call Mic2
Handset Mic
Audio Noise Suppressor (on/off)
Audio SSR
AMR Wideband Codec (on/off)
Fluence on calls (on/off)

This app may or may not fix the echo problem for you, you will just need to try it and see.

Hi,
My OnePlus X has always been having this echo pb. I would say 1 call out of 4 was problematic.
Now (since 10 jours approx.), with this apk, not a single complain about echo !
So a big thank you to the dev !
