hay guyz first of all greetings
iam thinking of buying the htc sensation xe this is my first android try so iam debating between the xe and sammys gs2 iam liking the xe for allot of points including the curved design the red color shceme teh 16 gig m.c and the 100 bux ibeats earphones any way i have a couple of doubts that make me afraid of the xe too
okay my doubts are
1-the battery life i heared that sense is a bad battery hog
2-the ram is 756 mig while s2 has 1 gig
3-the deathgrip even all xe users i know denied it
okay these are all my doubts wish someone tells me what he thinks which of the is better for these uses
1-chatting on ims apps
2-music i am addicted to my headphones(i like the ibeats since they say the wires are platted on chrome or gold that protects it from getting cut ps:i suffered with nokia and cheap headphones that dont make through a month of use and u lose sound from it
3-id love to watch some movies or videos on my phone

1. I'm a light user and I find the battery life quite good (standard XE battery).
2. Yes the ram is only 768mb, there's not much you can do about that. I've had Sense restart several times since I've had my XE, it's not a daily occurence though.
3. It does suffer from WiFi deathgrip, but it's only noticable if you're a fair distance from the router. I haven't yet lost WiFi signal all together.

IMO, you shud go for an HTC, have tried almost all brands and I'm back to HTC again
Sense is best UI...Touch wiz is quite cartoonish

My brother-in-law has an sgs2. Great phone right out of the box. Touchwiz is kinda blah, but stock Sense on the Sensation is laggy and I got tired of the carousel after a while.
I would go sgs2, but that's just me. Take your time and play with both phones a lot before you take the plunge!
Oh and yes, WiFi deathgrip is very real, but after I started using the htc trace keyboard, I haven't really used landscape much except to watch videos.

I found a powerskin cover for $45 last week and decided to buy it, so far I've only been able to get about an extra 8 hours from the extra battery, but I'm hoping that after a few more charges it will get better. It's about the same size as the mugen battery and door, but is removable, and protective. The piece hanging out of the left side of the phone sucks but I am getting used to it. I'll report back if the battery life gets better.

So the extended battery lasted from 8am-until now. 9.5 hours on It's third charge. This is with arhd 3.6.0 with faux 1.9 kernel. Brightness at 40% and WiFi connected the entire time.
The power skin is always used first and will charge the oem batt if connected at a later time. So far it seems to perform about as stated by the company.

So far, the side hasn't bothered me. I hold the phone in my right hand and text with swype, only issue I have is the silicone sticking to my pockets when I try to get the phone out. Had the same issue with a standard soft case too.

Is this the only power skin you know of? Overall would you say it made a difference i'm a heavy user of internet and apps so any extra cordless time would be great. Could you post a link of where you purchased this.. Thanks

It does make a difference. I have only been using the phone lightly today and am still on the extended battery. So far from 8am-7pm. No WiFi use today only radio between edge and 4g all day. This is the only one I have been able to find and cost ranges from 40-70 online. The link is in post 3.

Thanks man, having a sensation is awesome but watching some Samsung users using there phones twice as long makes me think twice about buying an htc next time. Other than that and the screen color density, we got them beat.

Guys order the cases from case mate!! I have the thinnest one and tbh i cant imagine using the phone without it! The grip is heavenly! It feels sturdy and lays in ur hand so good, even better than ur **** while fapping! HTC should ship them with every device instead of beats headphones imho

It adds a approx. 1mm of thickness to it and if feel so god damn rock solid in the hand, after switching to htc from samsung (and earning a million on stocks) this was the second best thing in my life! Pics included

I had a case on my Sensation for a while and it continually overheated so took it off again. Since removing the case ive never had the overheating issue.
i think ill just get some trojan bare skin condoms they'll be thinner

The case is nice until you drop your phone.
The protection is "barely there".
Its fine for protecting the phone when you put it down on surfaces though.

My friend bought a similar fake when he was in Afghanistan. This phone has Sense like interface and poor parameters: 2M camera, 650 MHz CPU, 256 MB RAM.
I must say, that's a really good copy of Sense.
I'm confused...why did you feel the need to e-mail HTC...they're a taiwanese company...do you really think they don't know mainland china try to copy everything they make?
besides, the phone looks nice, it probably works better than the sensation as well...ie no sense restarts when going back to the home screen, better battery...duel sim, lol.
I love my sensation but it's hardly perfect.
Looks and seems better than the real thing.

That is most definitely Sense. As said above, it's a rom from another phone hacked onto low grade hardware. While it's a fake, it is an Android phone.
I want one!!! I wouldn't mind paying $75 for that.

These Chinese companies make phone copies ALL THE TIME, they change the design ever so slightly so that it doesn't violate any laws and add extra features like dual-SIMs, etc...
They make iPhone copies, Android phones, you name it. This is typical.
These Chinese phones are also prone to freezing, battery failures and breaking from the slightest drop. My friend got one while in Hong Kong. At first he was bigging it up, within three months it was in the bin.

exactly ... and that ones comes from nowhere I am really gentle to the phone,
so I decided no way to avoid scratches with default material , but may be there is a way to repair it ,cothing or something:...
I would stick a thin TPU case on it. I'm pretty sure there really isn't a way to repair those chips/scratches.

Call HTC. HTC has taken full responsibility for the faulty micro arc oxidation. Assuming you have the black version. HTC has mentioned replacing deffected units. Read this

sorry for resurrecting this old post, but I bought a second hand One S today (7 months old) and it's in absolute mint condition, except for the coating on top of the device. If I trade in my One S, is there a big chance I get a S3 version instead of my S4? Are there still a lot of S3 versions produced?

What are u guys on about I think the one s screen is just perfect if anything a tiny bit too big the only thing I don't like about this phone is that it does not have NFC and in that case is not very future proof as all good Phones releasing now are going to have NFC

YES! I got something that is great! I keep hearing about this pentile screen. I'm gonna look it up. I wish there was a browser that makes white webpages black, though. I know you can do some fancy stuff to get it to work, but if only Chrome had that option built in.
And not just inverted, either! That makes pictures look creepy.

I like the One S better. I haven't had the SIII, but I've had several similar sized Galaxy Nexii. It's honestly too big for regular use. I don't want a phone larger than 4.5".
