ok first things first, i am sorry if started a thread that already exists for my query, but i tried my best looking for the answer to my question but didnt get it here on xda...hence the new thread.
Now, lets get down to business, i have a SGS i9003 with gingerbread 2.3.6 DDKP4, and superoneclick just wont root my device can anyone help here?
Also, i am a complete noob when it comes to rooting / modding / flashing ..so please bear with me, in-fact i would appreciate if the seniors could please guide me to a thread where i can learn about them all (wrt my device)

Use universal cf root by amit.bagaria.. It is for every gingerbread firmware.
You will find the thread in the android development section.
Just follow the instructions and ur device is rooted.

There are many custom roms available in the development thread.
And deodexing; it is simple.. The .apk are stored in our device with a .odex file too and it cant be modified.
But after deodexing!! You can apply themes, and other stuff mod. Is possiple.
To deodex use .zip files by ganeshbiyer in the development thread!!

how do i apply themes ? i have downloaded one from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405555&page=7 so do i install it just like any other app ? how do i go back to the stock theme afterwards ?
Also, PLEASE tell me how do i flash ROM's ?
Any help would be appreciated

First thing is it should be compatible with ur firmware!!
If yes then flash it using CWM as flash zip from sd card..
To revert back you should make a backup using CWM!

Miui is not rom specific!!!
You can flash XXKPQ then flash MIUI!.
Its not like you can only install it on 1 rom, it itself is a rom which when flashed removes old rom.
Ypu can flash MIUI if you want...

I mean to say that you can have MIUI in ur i9003!!!!
Just think of MIUI as another firmware(we call it rom)
You can flash it in CWM
Just download MIUI put it in ur external sd go to CWM flash it as a zip and you are done...
No need to flash xxkpq or anything else
And pls do read that at the moment some things do not work in MIUI(you can read it in the first post of MIUI) so do not ask about them as those queries will not be entertained

Your post title is misleading Edit the post title to DDKP3 which is the latest,
the pda version determines the gingerbread version which is ddkp3 only there is no ddkp4 pda as of now.
Your post when googled will show wrong info thus misleading 1000s of people who will keep on searching for DDKP4.

I am on ddkp3 i have download vurrut kernel v2 and JP MIUI V8.5, am i ready to go now ?
i am currently on a custom rom with amit bagaria CF root and deodexed (thanks to rohan !)

Yes you need data wipe and dalvik wipe. Updating miui just wipe cache. U juz nid cf root. Pls learn to read and search in the appropriate threads before asking

Just make a backup using CWM.(recommended)
And if you need apps to be restored then make backup using titanium backup.
And then you r ready to go!
Just factory reset,wipe catche,dalvik catche,battery stats.
Then go to recovery and flash as install zip from sd card.
No need to flash vurrut kernel as it is included in v8.5!!!

For restoring apps:
again install titanium backup.
And then u will be able to restore!!

U need to flash the kernel you made the backup with and restore from there. Or just do a clean flash. No, no update.zip. Before I play around with my phone I do a lot of research beforehand. You should too.

Hello guys this is a cwm recovery 5.2.0.8 with touch and flashable through stock recovery..
If u have flashed stock rom and want cwm no need to flash recovery using Odin...
Just flash it through stock recovery and reboot and Again go to recovery it will be cwm with touch..

yes like the other recovery from madteam or skins but this is great one better than the others encrypted systems support better support for ext4. and a lot of things

Tried installing CWM by Mad team.. stock on the promt "Replacing ...."
I flashed the Merruk Kernel 1.0.8 and got the same result sir.

I believe you can use his CWM to all installation of ROMs and all the zip files. it is still a CWM

But rom manager isn't completely dangerous, it is usable if it's used the right way, this guide will show you how to use rom manager without bricking you phone.Reported that it does not work with stock kernel.I am not responsible for any damage done to your phone, if you hardbricked it you have done something wrong. Follow step 1 CAREFULLY!.(u already. have to install clockworkmod recovery first then u can do this not with stock recovery....)First of all, you will have to install clockworkmod recovery on your phone. This is where some people brick their phones, the trick is to not use rom manager to do it. proceed to step 1 Download and install rom manager from Google Play. Now, what you're going to do is to selectFlash Clockworkmod Recoverythena window saying confirm phone model pops up and should look like this:If you're seeing other phone models than GT-S5670, don't proceed!!! You will hardbrick your phone!!! 2.Now you should see window: Click yes and continue 3.SelectClockworkMod 3.x 4.You're done! Rom manager will say that you have an installed ClockworkMod on your phone, nowyou can do what rom manager does, flash zips from the app, reboot into recovery, restore nandroid and more!

do as i tell....install nightly cm7 official through cwm by tj style...then open rom manager and use my steps it works 100% if u wont believe me than dont do it.whats my going......

I don't think so bro...
flash light will work only with the torch.apk
Try to launch the torch then entering camera and take a picture maybe it will work

The old name of this ROM is jelly Plus but now i changed it.And named it stable because most of feautures are working

You have to install with cwm v5.5 and not 5.0 or 6.x

Sorry but when i was making the thread i mentioned that the kernel is 3.0 but it is 2.6 Sorry it was a big mistake...

there is no xposed ,wannam in this ROM that you mentioned in features

You can download Xposed Framework and use modules but not wanam xposed because wanam xposed is only for Touchwiz android 4.2
