If nobody has heard there is a hack for ps3 which allows you to run homebrew and install and run games to/from the internal HDD and external USB.
There was some company selling some device for a ripoff $150 and now since they started that the source code got out and others have duplicated this to run on different USB developer boards and now on a cellphone, the N900 and also I heard someone got it working on a Palm Pre..
Anyone wanna give it a shot to see if it works?
There was a post somewhere on psx-scene that someone was working on a Android port and I think a psp port.
Would be pretty sick if it does get ported to Android and if we can use our phones to store backups.
The port to Android will just allow u to run and install the backup app. From there on u can back up and play your games off the ps3 hard drive.

Really interested in this, I don't feeling like taking the time to root my brother's pre.
Sounds like the android port is up and running on several android devices (Desire, Nexus 1, Dream) at the time of this post.

Any chance the available source can be used to get this working for our Incredible devices?

from another thread in the android section. anybody willing to try this? it says it won't work on sense based phones, yet the desire is listed so maybe it'll work on an incredible with cm6?
Looking forward to this being ported to the incredible. Absolutely amazing idea.

Tried and failed....
Am running CM 6.0.2 and after flashing PS3-signed.zip the phone would get stuck on the white HTC screen. I had to restore my boot partition from a nandroid backtup to get up and running again.
Didn't work for me on Skyraider 3.1
Looks like someone will have to compile that module for our device. Wish I knew how to do it.

Not sure how many ppl are really trying right now. I don't know a lot but I'm gonna download the source code for it. Try to compile it and a kernel it will work with. Figure why not, the worst I could do is miserably fail. Lol.

I recently released an unlocker for the Need For Speed SHIFT game in the android . Turns out some people have issues with the unlocker, because they have different locations of the NFSS game files.
I think I have now covered all possible installation locations, but just to make sure: Are there any NFSS players out there that want to check the Unlocker for me? I am specifically interested in people running the game on a Samsung GT-P1000 or a Samsung Captivate, but if you have Android device with a known strange location for Need For Speed SHIFT game files, you're very welcome too.
If you want to test the unlocker, please PM me and tell me what device you have.
Thanks!
Would be nice if you release a LITE/FREE version for people to test out on their devices considering you don't have all the bugs worked out..........just saying!
its a easy game i unlocked all in 1 single night
Yeah, we all learn all the time. Tested it on three different devices, figured it would work for all. Seems to work for most devices, and now I want to repair the disappointment for the rest.

Has anyone successfully installed Order & Chaos on the Infuse? Seeing as the Infuse is such a close cousin to the Galaxy S phones and most of those phones officially support O&C, it seems like it should work fine on the Infuse but I haven't seen any threads about it.

it appears to be one of those high quality game loft games. they code games for the hardware and they may check the build.prop for compatability, so even a compatible device might not play the game if they havent added the device to there supported list. if it is in the market it may work if it is gameloft website only you may need to register the phone number and claim what carrier you have, they haven't really been supporting att devices for some reason, i didnt have much success downloading there games by anyones instruction but others claim it works. good luck, let us know your results!
i hate that they have all the checks because anyone with root and chianfire 3d can run games for other chipsets just fine. why not detect the gpu and cpu and have one universal install that has coding for several different api's? would it make the game that much bigger?

Yeah, it basically is WoW for your phone. I've been playing it for a couple of months on an old iPhone 3GS, an HTC Inspire and on my ASUS Transformer. If an MMORPG is your cup of tea, I can't recommend Order and Chaos enough.
Anywho, Order & Chaos is not officially supported on the Transformer but I was able to get it to work by rooting it, downloading the game cache manually, and using Titanium Backup to install an "all devices" version of the game. I haven't rooted the Infuse yet and I was hoping there would be a way to install Order & Chaos without rooting but it sounds like rooting might be the only way.

If you're up to try it, follow the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1159975
Download the cache file referenced there and unzip it to /gameloft/games . Then PM me your email address and I'll send you the download link to the Titanium Backup backup of the game (I would post it here but I think it's considered warez). Then you unpack the TiBu backup to /TitaniumBackup , open TiBu, and restore the game from there.
Edit: I should mention that I don't know of this will actually work on the Infuse but this is how it worked on the Transformer.

It's not officially supported, but it works just fine. I don't understand why Gameloft does this with some of their games - they make their games available only for specific devices - but Order & Chaos definitely works with the Infuse. Use the .apk that zeus408 provided (I think it was the 9th post in this thread).

Weird, just downloaded this on my work pc, then e-mailed it to my gmail. In the e-mail, next to the attachment, when viewing on my phone, there is an "Install" button right there in the e-mail, which acted just like .apk installer. Is that a feature of APK installer, or what? Either way, that's pretty damn cool...

Here's most of the 'oid emulators in case anyone's searching, they've been modded to show up in the Xperia Play launcher. These have been floating around the Play forum for years.
http://www14.zippyshare.com/v/65637227/file.html
Thank you legion. I still have these but I'll l upload to Mother place as a backup in case others want these as well
Also I believe I still have the Sega genesis and master system and the atarioid (2600) still floats around as well. I'll see if I can find them if people want them.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Edit - I scoured all my cloud storage sites, saved emails, and other drives to find these, I know there are duplicates. As I dont have my XPlay at the moment (nephew is using it on a road trip) can someone try these out and let me know which ones are the Yongh's Modified to show in the XP launcher.. thank you.
Link:
http://d-h.st/users/jgregoryj1/?fld_id=9659#files
And of course if any listed are not free and I am breaking the rules please let me know, I think these are all the freebies anyway, but I have litereally had these for over two years. Also, I have misplaced a few of the other emu's by Yongh, such as Atarioid and whatnot.. perhaps if someone has these we can make a complete backup for posterity as these were modded by a user here to show in teh XP games launcher.
@ozzmanj1 I tested your apps and some are modified to appear in the xperia play launcher and others are not (gbcoid is not). Legion's apks are not modified.
Anyway, I found in my archive the modded apks for all the oid emulators including ataroid, gearoid and the needed bios for gameboid (gbadvance). I share them all in a non-flashable zip file. I tested all of them and they are launcher-optimized
There is also a MAME emulator which is not modified, but I share it anyway cause I found it here at xda with the oids. If someone can modify it please do it
Finally I got the n64oid but don't remember if it was free or not. If it is free now I'll upload if people wants it
Please tell me if some file is restricted to share for whaterver reasons and I'll take it down.

I believe the n64oid is a a paid app. At least according to the SlideMe website where the dev, has it listed at $5
I am stumped as I made a complete backup of all the modified for the XP ;launcher emus some 2 years ago but for the life of me cannot find where the heck I placed them. It must have been like - emus.... perhaps I backed them up onto one of my old hard drives... I'll have to look around some more.

Well I had them in my sdcard since they only are like 10mb heavy
Maybe you'll find them easier by searching 2 year old files, setting last modified date approximately 1st january/2012 or whatever you consider it right, as a parameter to filter search. The bad thing about this is that you'll have to search the entire drive if you don't remember what folder problably you placed them and it would take way long.... When I search for a file with very specific parameters (because I can't recall the name of the file) in my 1tb external drive it lasts 4 or 5 hours at least....
So, good luck
PD: is there some emulator missing that I didn't update in adition to n64oid? I'm just wondering why you continue searching if there are all of them available

Also, if guys find any freeware emu's that need to be added the the launcher let me know and I can easily mod them for you again if we're missing any.

Gearoid
Gensoid
Nesoid
Snesoid
Link, I know we have several, lets just call it for posterity to have multiple links:

A lot has changed since I first posted this thread. The website is in full swing with over 1000 visitors per day. The app is on a lower demand but fully functional after a long time of trial and error.
Features of the app include:
-Setting shortcuts or presets to listings for your device
-Selecting unlimited presets for MODs, ROMs or Apps that will be checked for updates each time it is opened.
-Listings constantly being updated.
-Over 200 devices listed
-Over 8000 listings posted
-App is not limited to viewing listings for only your device
-Descriptions for each listing as provided by Listing Poster
-Direct links to original posting
Website freely available to anyone all listings are the same as on the app. The app provides an easy way to check multiple ROM's MOD's or APP's for updates. Plus paying the couple bucks for the app helps pay for services needed to maintain the website.
Please visit the google play store for the most up to date information and screen shots.

It would be the advantage that all mods are in one place. Like the play store. Instead of goin thru forum by forum lookns for diff things. But shuld be an app

App on the way actually... Got to get the website done first though before the app can work.
The advantage to a website like this is it categorizes all the posts, puts then in a clean format and eliminates all the gibberish in the forums. Also if links go dead the listings are removed.

Wasnt able to differentiate between the XOOM wifi and CDMA models since my listings do not do this when they build the device listings with the same names.
I will incorporate a way to support both though soon enough.
Xoom <----> wingray <-- SUPPORTED SINCE --> 4/18/2012 5:31:04 PM
Had to modify the Device updating script module to get it to recognize devices with the same model name but different device names. Seems stupid since these devices seem to work with the same firmware installed. The xoom doesnt seem to have different ROM's for each model. Weird..
