[Q] Hidden menu codes... anyone got a full list? - LG Optimus 3D

I have noticed a couple of codes in members posts, that reveal hidden menus.
e.g. *#*#4636#*#*
There was another one in another post that showed other stats and factory reset options ect. (but I didn't write it down at the time )
Can anyone post a full list of these codes please?

3845#*920#

That is for O3D. Substitute 925 for 920 for the Thrill.

any of those hidden codes good to carrier unlock?
i mean to unlock the phone so it can be used with another carrier?

Show all Hidden Menu on Desktop
1.Tap and Hold Desktop
2.Select Shortcut
3.Select Activities
4.Select com.lge.hiddenmenu
5.Select HiddenMenu on Top
And you have shortcut to Hidden Menu now on your desktop
For other HiddenMenu, you can explore the other menu on Activites

I can't see where to select 'Activities' on step 3.

unlock sgh-i897 simlocked, is possible??

hi
i'm italian and I don't speak English very well
i have a samsung sgh-i897 version 2.2 at&t sim-locked
i grant the root access with unlockroot 2.3
i try to unlock with Samsung Galaxy S Unlock Tool app in the market
when i select "Root Gen Codes",
i get an error message "SORRY, no codes found unknown error"
Why???
Biggio
Don't listen to him, he is new and doesn't know what he is talking about. Talk to user TRusello about this. It is because it is a I896 not I897, the unlock process is different, yet it is still free! He is right about the hard lock and all, but no need to pay when the code just has to be accessed and entered into the phone.
Is there any guide in the forum that I can use?
i try to unlock with Generate Unlock Windows.zip
but i have a problem also with this solution
failed to copy /efs/nv_data.bin to ./nv_data.bin --> Permission denied
------------------------------------------------------------------
finally i unlock the phone with the app "GALAXY S UNLOCK" downloaded to the Android Market!!!
my italian sim works perfectly!!!
Now i I wonder if they can install the European firmware on my phone without losing the unlock??
If the answer is yes, what program can I do this?

The simlock is permanent unless you get a bad rom that overwrights your efs/nv_data.bin.
There is no "European" version the SGH-i896,897 are North American released. You can take any rom and enter your own apn for your italian provider if its not present.
ok
thanks for the clarification
biggio
glad you got it fixed.
as to your permission denied issue, i believe you have to remount said partition. there is a method to do so using a hex editor that gives a nice bit of info on the whole process. the problem then becomes are the bits you must modify the same on the 896 and 897? this i do not know so i would not advise doing ANYTHING without making excessive amounts of backups, mainly of the nv_data file and the cache or md5 that goes with it (cant remember which it is but its in the same dir)
after reading your error again, i feel foolish for typing all that. you should have access to /mnt/sdcard if your sd is mounted by the phone and not the pc. there is a way of doing it without the symlinked folder but i forget the actual path and am too lazy to look it up.
to sum it up, it looks like your perms issue was because you needed to change your destination directory.
I unlock mines via odin and im using it with claro. I have 2.3.5 rooted and unlock with no trouble

I have never come across this situation before. Now if you put a different SIM in it does it give an unlock prompt at all?

I think you should take it to the carrier or a shop. They may have tools to fix that. You can also try using the kdz updater to initialize the office but not sure if it would work.

Hi,
Anyone knows which apk(s) controls the hidden codes menu?
If I type *#06#, nothing happens anymore.
Thanks

Try 'hidden menus' from the play store.
*#06# doesn't need any app to display the device's IMEI.
Are you using the stock rom?
