[Q] Run cd iso on Android - General Questions and Answers

I have a interactive cd iso from a med. school textbook package. Can I run this iso as a cd on Honeycomb? I know this is a long shot.

i doubt thats possible.. It really depends on the content of the CD.. if its contents are in EXE format, then it wont work.. However if the files are flash, PDF, word, excel, powerpoint, or just pictures or HTML, then honeycomb could probably open them..

Looking PDF Optimizer/reader

Hey guys,
I used to use a program called RepliGo that would convert my PDF into there own format that was less memory intensive as Adobe Reader for PPC. The thing I liked about it was that it allowed you to
1) Do reflow where you look at PDF as if there were in notepad (i.e no graphics)
2) Text Search
3) Speed (Never an hour glass while switching pages)
Is there any other program that is better then Adobe Reader of PPC to read PDF or even convert to its own format first?
Have you tried Mobipocket? It will convert pdf to its own format which allows you to reformat the text.
I would use Repligo for viewing files with lots of pictures and diagrams interspersed in the text, Mobipocket if you just have a solid chunk of text like an ebook, and Foxit if you just want to read the occasional pdf without any conversion.

[Q] App to highlight powerpoints?

I use ez pdf to highlight notes that are .doc and pdf, but are there any apps to highlight and take notes on powerpoint files? A lot of my professors use powerpoints as notes and I can't seem to find a good app to do this..anything similar to ez pdf that will work with powerpoint files? (such as highlight lines and very little actual handwritten input)
You can convert ppt to pdf using a program such as microsoft office. I do this every week because my prof posts ppt on her website and I use my transformer in class.

[Q] open .exe flash on android?

Hi!. It turns out that there is a computer program that would be nice to have on my tablet and would be useful for my university classes. The "program" is really an .exe file and there is also a folder called "data" and inside that folder there are many many .swf files. I CAN open the swf files separatly but I can't open the exe (what the exe does is ... well, basicly organising all the swf's with an interface, the text, menus and stuff ). Is there any way in which I can get that program to run on a Android tablet?.
Edit: I managed to convert the main exe file to swf, now I gotta see if there is some swf player on android (pretty sure there is )

.EXE files couldn't run on Android because EXE is Windows executable and won't work on Linux or Android.
About swf player you can try this: SWF Player
It worked. I could convert the main exe to swf and it works on android. What would be REALLY cool would be to convert the main swf + the data folder (which contains the swf's that the program uses) to an apk file. I don't know if that's possible
not quite running it on the tablet
OK here is a solution but not an answer, you can run programs like splash top to view and controll your PC wirelessly over wifi from you tablet. Its like $20 for a year so you don't actually run the program on your tablet but you can run it on your computer on your tablet from anywhere in the world.

Rip music from cd for Surface RT?

Is there a programme to do this? I mean one installed on the Surface RT. I have a CD/DVD writer with external power supply that seems to work on the Surface but I put a cd in it and of course the format is not recognized.
Cheers,
Barrie
Just go into My Computer, browse and copy the CD contents manually.

But Surface does not recognise the format.
Then you wont have any luck. Rip it on another machine, convert it to MP3 or WAV and then copy it across on a thumb drive or something.
I'm not even sure a Windows Store app has the necessary access to do this. It should be possible using a ported Desktop app, but I'm not aware of any such app having been ported yet.
