[Mod][Port] 14 Toggle Quick Panel - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

This is a 14 toggle mod for the quick panel. It contains toggles for:
Wifi, Data, GPS, Flashlight (really cool), Sound, Rotation, Bluetooth, Airplane, Auto Sync, Brightness, Reboot, Shutdown, Lockscreen and Screentimeout
The Reboot option has three options to it similar to an extended power menu
Reboot, Recovery and Download mod
The mod also removes the redundant vibrate icon on the statusbar.
It has been tested on stock odexed by [email protected] and confirmed it worked. Let me know otherwise. I do not own a skyrocket so can't test this myself.
It is based off of UXKJ7 firmware so it should work for also work for Roger's as well as AT&T.
As usual flash at your own risk, I am not responsible for your phone or problems it has from this modification.
**For deodexed roms: Just download the CWM file at the bottom of the post and flash away.
**For stock odexed rooted roms as follows: extract the systemui and lidroid-res via root explorer. Install systemui in system/app then rename the systemui.odex to systemui.odex.Bak and push lidroid-res to system/framework. Reboot and you should be good to go.
Thanks to VFO for this method!
Thanks to lidroid for the files and code changes.
OP for the mod in Int. Forum:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1289896

trying now.

Works great. Thanks!
Rogers model, stock, rooted. Moved everything manually. Very happy the redundant vibrate is gone now.

works great. I just noticed a few days back with the 12 panel mod, ledroid ROM appears in the banner of the prompt if you choose reboot. No big deal.

I flashed it through CWM and see no difference. Help. It said it flashed successfully.

Try reflashing or pushing the files manually then. Were the lirdroid-res.apk and quickpanelsettings.apk installed?

i got the same exact problem

This worked wonderfully except i lost my lte singal and only had 4g.
would have kept it other wise.
i did have to pull the files and push them to the system/app and system frame work though.
Good stuff though for those not in a LTE area.
To edit the settings you need root explorer to extract and allow permisions to copy and paste in the system folder yall

uh we need to know what ROM you are running. If it is a custom ROM, you should be able to flash it. If you are running a stock unrooted ROM it will not work. If you are running a stock rooted oxed ROM, you have to install it manually with root explorer... This is all covered in the OP.

Confirmed working on I727R
Works fine for me on rooted Rogers stock. Did a nandroid backup beforehand just incase. Had a bit of confusion as OP says to "install" to system/apps, but realized that i was to only move, not run. Does anything need to be done with quickpanelsettings.apk?
I tested all buttons and they all work. I LOVE this. Thanks a lot.
EDIT: I moved quickpanelsettings.apk to the system/app folder with root explorer as well and I now have the quickpanel settings in my app list. Selection/deactivation and changing oreder also work well. I also see no signal loss after rebooting.

This worked perfectly on my stock/rooted ATT SR. Thanks.

so yall got it to work with LTE ??

uh ya. all the QP MODs from the 777 forums work just fine with or without LTE on the 727. This one that has been ported is no different.
after replacing the systemui file you will start getting FCs. Dont freak, just ok them and rename the systemui.odex file to systemui.odex.Bak then rebot the phone...

I would imagine that LTE is just fine, but you just may not have the LTE icon. Personally I'm not in an LTE area to test, but the files that have been changed don't have anything to do with connections... I believe.

LTE
anyone have specific instructions on what file to d/l and what to do /rename after install for the lte please , 2 times i have tried but lost the bar compleatlly , had to restore nandroid .
Much appreciated !

It is not LTE specific. This MOD does change the network icon. If on LTE it will say LTE. if on H+ it will say 4G.
These are the exact instructions. You can also just use root explorer.

Oh, did you use framework-res.apk?
Or framework.apk? Try to only use the framework file and just battery mod.

Framework file.
So its the framework.jar file you use? Cos my stock rom does not seem to have a framework apk file in the framework folder so i used the framework-res.apk
Works
Oh nevermind. Tried with the framework-res.apk and it worked. Thanks anyway.
Yes,you need to upload systemui.apk
maybe someone can post his litle work ?)
My little work
Experimented with both methods, uploading all 3 files and just uploading framework file. Second method worked. This is the battery i made using the kitchen. I am also running stock sense 2.3.3 on my desire s.
Circle battery with animation while charging.
Copy anywhere to SD, reboot into clockwork recovery, clear cache and davlik then apply update.

Anyone can upload all the 3 stock file heres?
framework-res.apk
com.htc.resource.apk
SystemUI.apk
or anyway i can extract/get myself
Many thanks
You can find them all using an app like astro file manager. Just copy to your SD card and then to pc. Location of files can be found with Google..l

Works also with v1.47 rom , but framework from stock and 1.47 have different filesize (the uot-generated zip also is different). Once installed i've noticed no differences, but is better to install a proper 1.47 based battery

[ROM] [8/12] 1.45.401.2 OTA Stock Rooted | odex & deodex | Settings fixed

No one seemed to wanna help me so I had to figure this out myself
Started with the Europe RUU and patched the files from the OTA zip posted earlier today, rooted, the whole 9 yards.
What you get:
1.45.401.2 Android 2.3.4
disabled boot sound (I had to, sorry!)
rooted & busybox installed
odexed
unsecure boot.img
love
Deodexed version comes with all of the above plus:
busybox runparts support (init.d)
/data/app enabled
nano & bash shell
deodexed
extra love
Older kernels do not seem to work (2.3.3 ones), so you will have to stick with this stock kernel for now. I have a TMO US Sensation and everything seems to be working fine on my end (I AM running the new radio, btw).
Flash with CWM.
Note for odexed ROM!! - I mucked up the Settings.apk and included a wrong one. The correct files are in there but need to be renamed before you flash, or flash the file I linked below IMMEDIATELY after you flash the ROM (before rebooting). Deodexed version is unaffected. Sorry for the trouble!
Download Odexed -d40386a3258546ee1bd760588007d2bd
Odex Settings Flashable fix - flash immediately after
Downdload Deodexed - 71aeba2d1ae00813458b78bda5c188a0
Deodex Flashable Settings.apk fix - or just push this Settings.apk
Instructions for those not so sure which to download:
Download deodex version
Download Deodex Settings.apk flashable right below it
Place both on SD
reboot to recovery and make a nandroid backup
wipe dalvik cache (and data if you choose, I recommend doing so)
flash deodex
flash settings.apk fix
reboot
Nice one man, will be helpfull to many
yah now all will make a super mega uber fast .... rom
thanks for release, users who like all stock will be happy
Bug
(Do NOT Flash this ROM!) - FIXED
There is no Settings application!!!!!!!!
And in Menu also!!!
Am I missing something? What's so good about this. o_o
Good things ahead.
Great work. How did you apply the OTA patch "HTC_Europe_1.45.401.2-1.35.401.1" to "HTC_Europe_1.35.401.1" ?? Did you update your phone then backup and used that in the kitchen ?

Sorry fellas, was experimenting with one and forgot to get rid of it, you can run the following commands to get it back (it should be on your phone, I just renamed it, look at the zip ).
Open up your zip and delete Settings.apk in /system/app and rename Settings.apk.bak to Settings.apk and then rename Settings.odex.bak to Settings.odex then flash away.
Or the hard way:
Code:
roman$ adb remount
remount succeeded
roman$ adb shell
sh-3.2# cd /system/app
sh-3.2# rm Settings.apk
sh-3.2# mv Settings.apk.bak Settings.apk
sh-3.2# mv Settings.odex.bak Settings.odex
roman$ adb reboot recovery
**wipe dalvik cache in recovery**
reuploading a newer version.

Ripped the patch zip apart, took out any references to firmware, flashed the patch file upgrade.
In the firmware.zip were the boot.img & radio.imgs i flashed among other things I was way too scared to touch
So any "reviews" on 2.3.4, is battery life better? Anything new?
Also a question.
If I install this, would I be able to extract my backup rom of Anroid Revolution and take the apps out aswell as other things like contacts and just slap em on my SD card or in System/apps and have it all work again?

Just do a nandroid backup before, flash over, if you get no issues, great! If you start seeing issues, nandroid back, or do a /data wipe in recovery. But theoretically you should be able to.
Deodexed version is also up. flashed and seems to be working great.

[MOD] Remove Recent Apps from Notification Bar

I haven't seen this around, so I went ahead and made this for myself, and I decided to share it with anyone who wants it...
I hate the Recent Apps section of the Notification Bar Dropdown... so I removed it.
I wanted the Recent Apps to be removed without having to flash a complete ROM or use some theme.
1. Flash the attached file in CW Recovery
2. Clear Cache and Dalvik Cache
3. Reboot
4. Profit (It will remove the recent apps section)
There are no side-effects that I have noticed.
It was made from the SystemUI.apk from the stock US 2.3.4 Build, and should work on any 2.3.4 build for the Sensation.
There are no other changes in this from stock 2.3.4 besides removing the Recent Apps.
It will work alongside the Battery Mods I made with no issues... One mod does not affect the other.
Let me know if you have any issues.
As always, I'm not responsible if your phone breaks beyond repair and you lose all your data.
Thanks to j4n87 for the smali change required.
Work for me on EagleBlood rom.
It would be helpful.
NoRecents - installed with tiwili - take it, work it, leave it
Hi,
thanks for this mod. As always all actual modifications in existing SystemUI.apk are changed by this installation.
I took both of your modified files in my tiwili-installation method. So all other existing files in SystemUI.apk will rest in peace.
I publish it here because it´s your work, your files; It took 5 minutes for me, that´s nothing to be proud of...

EQS-Mod + Recent App
Hey
What do i do if i want the Recent App, with EQS-Mod ?
thanks...... I'll try this app
If any of you want to do it youself.....
1.Pull Systemui.apk from system/app
2.Decompile SystemUI.apk
3.navigate to com/android/systemui/statusbar
3.open up StatusBarFlag.smali using notepad or notepad++ (recommended)
4.Around line 89 (using notepad++) you should see this:
Code:
sput-boolean v0, Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/StatusBarFlag;->HTC_RECENT_APP:Z
5. Change v0 to v2.
6. Recompile Systemui.apk and push via adb to system/app or copy to system/app using root explorer.
**NOTE**If using root explorer make sure to set permissions as Owner = Read/Write Group = Read Others = Read. A reboot will be required after pasting SystemUI.apk before you can change persmissions.
7. Reboot and your done!
same outcome for me with p3d had to reflash to get extended settings

Sounds like you have decompiled SystemUI.apk incorrectly and then not signed it before pushing it. What method did you use for decompiling the APK?
I'm having some trouble with decompiling the SystemUI.apk. I get a bunch of "Invalid config flags detected" error when I try to load the com.htc.resources.apk framework; when I try to recompile I get a handful of other errors (related I'd imagine) and it doesn't recompile. Googled around a bit, found similar problems but no answers - any advice?

NJ4 Native Hotspot Fix

Devs,
I modified the framework-res.apk file from NJ4 to remove the
lines out of the arrays.xml file:
Code:
<string-array name="config_mobile_hotspot_provision_app">

com.sec.tetheringprovision

com.sec.tetheringprovision.TetheringProvisionActivity

</string-array>
I have it working on my phone and native hotspot is working. I couldn't find any further information if anything more was needed to "not be detected" by the network as tethering.
If this is indeed, all that needs to be done, then someone may want to make it an SafeStrap install zip. I'm not sure how to do that.
You can manually add this fix, but will have to follow these instructions to the T, as not doing so will get you in a boot loop. I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone, and doing anything with this modified file is at your own risk... I use Root Browser as my file manager to make these changes..
THIS ZIP FILE IS NOT FLASHABLE - IT'S MERELY IN ZIP SO IT COULD BE UPLOADED TO XDA..
1) Download zip file and extract it to your computer
2) Move the extracted framework-res.apk file to your SDCard
3) Now, move the file from your SDCard to /system/ (Temporarily).
4) Make a backup copy of the /system/framework/framework-res.apk file to your SDCard in another folder for backup purposes.
5) Change the permissions on the framework-res.apk file that you just copied to /system to 0644
6) Move the framework-res.apk file from /system to the /system/framework folder
7) Overwrite the original framework-res.apk file
8) Reboot your phone
9) Voila, native hotspot is active.
[EDIT TO REMOVE OLD FILE - SEE POSTS BELOW]
Thank you this worked for me
Thank you, rodin95, your steps worked for me on rooted stock NJ4. I installed apk following your steps, changing permissions, etc. Hotspot seem to work fine.
Additional information for those contemplating the same steps:
0644 means: Owner: read,write; Group:read,Other:read.
I used ES File Explorer app.
Before performing the steps: In ES File Explorer, choose "Root Explorer" , then choose "Mount R/W" and then chose "RW" for /system partition, otherwise moving the apk into /system/framework will not work.
Please note that removing the original apk from /system/framework seem to quickly render your phone unusable. So please follow instructions of the original post precisely . Good luck!
Thanks

Thanks dude, working on my stock NJ4 rooted i337
Got it going but as mention mine frozen after over writing framework apk, phone rebooted but was in a bootloop. Pulled battery 2 times and still bootloop. So I pulled battery and went into Safestrap recovery/ advanced/ file manger and copied modified framework-res.apk again, over writing, rebooted with no problems and tethering works great. Just a thought and haven't tried it but I remember doing this another time and the instructions were to rename the stock framework app and then copy modified to framework folder? Wonder if this would stop device from freezing up????? Just a thought. Thanks

I'd like to learn - how did you modify the framework-res.apk file?
I've extracted the file framework-res.apk, but don't see a file called "arrays.xml". I assume it's contained in the resources.arsc file. How did you extract it from the resources file and then repackage it after you modified the xml?
I've unsuccessfully Googled. Is there a tutorial you can link me to?

Thanks Rodin95. Your instructions and file worked perfectly.
So I just ran through the step listed above, word for word including mounting SYSTEM as RW. As soon as I asked ES File to copy the file from /system to /system/framework the phone rebooted itself and is now stuck at the AT&T splash screen with the globe in the middle of the screen.
Any ideas? Or am I going to have to Re-ODIN everything back and start over...
I am/was running on stock-rooted but WITHOUT SS...
Thanks for this.
Since I'm using my i337 on T-Mobile I absolutely need this fix to use tethering at all (OC3 has issues with Bluetooth AVRCP that makes it a deal-breaker for me).
I used the SafeStrap update.zip with FlashFire instead and it worked perfectly.
Just installed the SS update file. Worked great. So happy to finally have this. Running on stock, rooted, ROM.

Thank you for the steps you posted Muniz to repack it with Rodin_25 apk.
Flashed with SS from the instructions from original http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2787681
Thank you Rodin_25 for the apk!

I know it's thier own fault for not reading a few lines down into post 3 and all but you should really update the OP so people don't get stuck in bootloader like they are still... this is orking perfect for 4.4.4 nj4 and the first quote is for 4.2 and 4.3 which all work if done the way explained above... I know it's real hard to follow instruction if you don't read more than 5 lines lol
Is there a version of this that works for 5.0.1?

[MOD][7-2-2015][Modded caller app (banners free)][Lollipop 5.0 - 5.0.1]

Hi guys,
I just wanted to share you edited caller app from Lollipop leak (N9005XXUGBNL8).
It also works on official FW and even 5.0.1 Note 4 ports.
I didn't like the stock, so I "fixed" in my way .
I hope you like it.
Screenshots:

Changelog:
1. Removed orange/green caller banner.
2. Removed background on "Last spoke" and moved to left.
Download:
v1

v2 - Delay after call end removed
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ifpitp647i0ct5e/No_banners_no_delay_Lollipop_n9005.zip?dl=0
Install:
Put the zip in CWM/TWRP and flash it.
Warning! It's only for DeODEXed ROMs!
Enjoy!

Hi,
You can use it on official deodexed ROMs.
If you mean official Odex then probably you can use it too but need to remove odex file and ARM folder (if exist).

I confirm it works on odex rom too.. :victory:
Official one for sure.. No need to delete any odex file or arm folder-there aren't any to delete..
:highfive:
Please, can you revert back the background color of last talked info because as you can see in the attachment-user picture makes it hard to read the text without the background image..
Also, if possible, please replace the dial pad 'water drop' should with the file in the attached zip-it'll be SOOOOOOOOO great of you..
I hope you understood my request.. :fingers-crossed:
Hi,
Here is the modded apk.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kcogmix32evozui/No_banners_Lollipop_n9005_TheTAMAS.zip?dl=0
I use only dark background pics so thats I made it white transparent.
About dial tone you need to change touch_ripple.ogg from SecContacts_Phone_OSup.apk
You can do it simple with Zip or Rar. No need to decompile (I think).

For some strange reason-this file isn't working..
I tried deleting, over-writing, cut-paste, wipe Dalvik cache, everything that I could think of.. Other person receives call but I don't get to see anything going on, on my end.. Used Flight Mode toggle to disconnect the call..
And I didn't get the 2nd parta your reply 'zip or rar'..

Hm.
Try this one:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/gn88vmti65jzrim/No_banners_Lollipop_n9005_org_last_spoke.zip?dl=0
For changing touch sound you need to go to:
/system/priv-app/SecContacts_Phone_OSup/SecContacts_Phone_OSup.apk
transfer to PC open with winrar and change the touch_ripple.ogg with yours.

It's working now.. w0.ot :victory:
But the latter part regarding rar/zip didn't.. It force crashes the Contacts app
Please check the attachments
The zip contains the modified apk and the related ogg file
Fyki, I don't know how true it is-I read on XDA long time ago that the sound files are present in the phone apk and not the contacts apk
I tried changing the files at that time too-it gave force crash too..
The reason why I'm still hopeful is because I reckon that zip/rar may not be the right way to do so.. :fingers-crossed:
@TheTAMAS
Try this:

It's DeOdexed.
If you have problems remove the Odex file and ARM

There's no related odex file or arm folder but the icon isn't showing up (maybe it has something to do with compression type like best, store, normal)
Please check the attachment..
The app won't even appear forget force crash or running..
What ROM do you run?
Also please check the permissions on the apk.
Sometime it's not set correctly, that's why icon is missing.
Regards

Thanks anyways.. :highfive:
Just a question, what is the method for reverting back to Echoe Rom v23 default dialer with full image? I have yours now which I really prefer, but I would like to toggle back just to compare the difference. Than you.
Just extract LegacyInCallUI.apk from your ROM's zip and replace in phone with correct permissions.

Thank you man.. Yours is by far the better option. I can't see how anyone can use the convoluted stock dialer.
