Hi guys, I'm new here to XDA forums. I was just wondering what ROM you guys use? I recently just flashed on Supernova 2.02 and noticed very fast boot up time.

Many people try most if not all the ROMs. Each ROM varies per person and it seems SuperNova is a good new ROM. Usually these threads get locked because the ROM is truly dependent upon user experience, and your thread title is pretty bad so it does not lead people to really think what you want.
I bounce around, current favorites stripped and paragon. Try them all, find what works best for you
I'm enjoying Andromeda v1.1
I am on Supernova as well. I have tried about every rom I could find and always went back to Phoenix 4.5 but now Supernova is what is staying on my phone!
I'm using Cognition 3.04. My wife's phone is on Perception 10.3. I like the straightforward look and feel of them.
It's like what others are saying though, once you flash one you'll want to flash again.

Sorry couldn't think of a better thread title other than that I am new to XDA. I like it here though. Lots of information on different ROMs and user opinions. Good stuff.
I'm digging Firefly 2.1 right now. But like others have said, its all just a matter of personal preference. It's what Roms YOU like that matters. My advice would be to try at least one new rom a week. If you really don't like the rom you install on any given week, well then try two roms that week.

I actually have done about a ROM every 3-4 days for the past 2 weeks. I still haven't settled down into one yet.
I'm on Supernova at the moment.
You can't go wrong flashing anything from Team Phoenix.

Yeah I really enjoy supernova. I also really liked Andromeda 2.1 with the new Tek Mark 2.1 theme but it was very uneasy on my eyes to look at bright colors all day and night long. Supernova's color scheme looks terrific. Very unique.
I'm currently on Phoenix 4.5 atm, thinking about switching over to Supernova.

You should do it. You will not be upset with your choice. Well worth it.
I'm currently on Andromeda 2.1 but thinking hard about giving Supernova a go. After the first blitz of flashing everything on the board I've found that for me it really takes a few days to really get the feel of a new program. I've gone back and reflashed a couple of ROMs simply because I didn't give them a fair shake. I do keep coming back to Andromeda and it will now be hard to abandon it.
Like others have said. Try several roms til you find one you really like.
If you really wanna tailor your phone to your specific likes... try different kernels and modems too... til you get the fastest, most stable setup for your particular phone and location.
Tons of combos out there that work well for some, not so well for others.
I am using di11i'sOC v6.0 as it has Call Record function that I like having available to me. It is also one of the fastest and smoothest I have tested. Battery seems very good also but it has only been two days. I will let you know more after a week or so.......
I'm using Precision 3.0 with SuckerPunch #49 Kernel. FAST and SMOOTH!
Cog 3.04 here.
Welcome aboard. Serendipity is the cleanest imo. The guys that work on it work around the clock releasing updates and are always available should u have a problem. Good luck on ur choice.
Also have call recording although not included in this rom
Captivate | Serendipity 5.8 | Speedmod K13a-500mhz | KP1
I might be a little biased toward Andromeda
^That's my favorite ROM
Until we get all of the kinks worked out of CyanogenMod 7....
I was wondering which rom/kernel combination is running smoothly without too many problems on the htc thunderbolt? Preferable something that runs pretty quick. Any opinions would be certainly appreciated
BAMF is the best ROM I have tried on TBolt. As far as the kernel, ithink it depends in your phone. Mine dies not handle UV/OC very well, others do. Imoseyon puts out great kernels and the stock kernels with BAMF by Adrynalyne arevreally mice. Both offer alot of variation.

BAMF 1.6.3 has been running great for me. It comes with its own kernel. You also get the 6 bar signal strength
VirusROM Airborne Senseless with Imosayon kernel... smooth as silk... just waiting for a ROM update...
CM7 is my daily driver. I have GPS, Wifi, 3g/4g hand-off works perfectly; I couldn't ask for more!
You could probably get a different answer all day long .
I'm running Liquid Thundersense 1.45 with Imo's 1.92x kernel (current 2.4.4 version) and it flies. No lockups or reboots here and good battery life. Yay!
yea im running bamf 1.63, no big issues, runs fast, runs well.

When you say that your phone "doesn't handle undervoltage/overclocking well," what does that mean? How does this manifest itself? Runs slow, runs hot, both? I've been experimenting with Imoseyon's kernels (latest version with the terminal emulator script) and Das BAMF Remix 1.6.3. Just wondering what I should look for.
^
Good question
I never tried overclocking to 1.6... 1.9 like other kernels out there. I use 4.4.3 - 1420/499
My phone runs fine
But I dont get that undervolted stuff
Running Vanilla Bean 1.2 w/ BAMF 4.3 Kernal (considering flashing leanKernal soon) and its been running really smooth so far. I am liking the lack of Sense of Vanilla Bean!
stock and stock
I just loaded my first ROM, Das BAMF remix 1.63, and so far, everything works great!
I rooted it a month ago, what a hassle that was. It took me all weekend to figure it out. I first tried using the Cyanogenmod Thunderbolt wiki procedure, but kept getting stuck because their wiki assumes you know all about ABD and how to use it, and there must be something crucial not listed in their step by step procedure. Anyways I tried another site, which had almost the same info, but different downloads, so I kept getting stuck there with more anti noob root steps, and finally gave up there. Then I found a 3 click root program on another site, and that got the whole thing rooted with s=off.
After all that rooting nightmare, I decided I would just wait for the Cyanogenmod 7 ROM, but weeks passed and it looked like the project was abandon, so I decided to try a flavor of the most popular ROM instead.
What I wanted the most was that SENSE stuff turned off, and all the bloatware removed. I read the BAMF ROMS are the most popular, and decided to give one a try, ann am now happy I did. One thing I do notice is the personalize button now opens a browser, but I actually like that better.
I like the 6 bar signal meter, the cool boot animation, and the new themes, and the GPS icon is now gone from the status bar. Still playing with it the check out all the features.

Hey, I got two questions. The first is whether you had the update that just came out a few days ago applied when you did this root method. The second is if you have a link to where you found it.
Thanx
Rooting... Bah! ROMS... Yeah!
When I rooted, I did not have the update. Other than the ROM i just loaded, I have not applied any updates since rooting a month ago, and here is how I did it: (remember, I know nothing about unix, linux, java, or anything other than BASIC)
First I tried this procedure, and stalled at step 9 of the downgrade procedure, but looking back I think it failed because at step 5 I had failed to gain temporary root, and I did not know that a change in prompt from "$" to "#" means temporary root. I still am not sure:
cyanogenmod thunderbolt wiki (I was spam filtered from posting the link)
Second I tried this procedure, but again, died at step 3 trying to gain the temp root "#" prompt:
androidpolice thunderbolt root thread (I was spam filtered from posting the link)
Then I found this easy root 3 step process, and followed it, and at first it did not work past step 1, so I copied the downgrade file from the cyanogenmod wiki, verified it's md5 checksum, and put it in the 3 step folder and it worked:
droidforums easy-root-available-3-step-process (I was spam filtered from posting the link)
Now remember that all these procedures have been updated since tax day weekend when I did the mod, but it was a total 2 day nightmare that I would never want to endure again.
The problem is that each new term I encountered took a couple hours of web research to find out what it means and does. This is my first phone, and terminology used is totally alien to me.
Now that I have this new BAMF ROM installed, I am liking the phone a lot more. Just like I enjoy customizing windows 7 on my desktop, I have just discovered the same thing is do-able on the phone.
edit, looks like I am spam filtered from adding the links...

Tesla Coil is very good but doesn't seem to be actively updated.
I have been benchmarking all of the ROMs and kernels (well only 2, BAMF and leanKernel with each flavor) to see what has the best performance. Maybe I will share the spreadsheet someday. Currently testing CM7.
I have used Perfect Storm and BAMF. I prefer Das BAMF because it is simple, relatively light, but packs a mean punch with some of the added features.
The Adrynalyne kernels work great, but I get a little better battery life from Imoseyon's LeanKernel. I am currently running Das Bamf 1.6.3 and LeanKernel 2.5 with custom undervoltage.
I think its crazy how different each TB is with how it responds to kernels, ROMs, radios, voltage, etc. But I am very happy with what I have now, and the undervolting has given me more battery life!
I was using Bamf Stripped v 1.1 until I flashed the gingerbread rom, I absolutely loved it.
My sig says it all. Put your cursor on the details for links to the goodies

Wsa getting real crapy bat life on bamf 1.6.3 but think it was because I didnt clean and wipe between updates I just cleaned wiped and did it again seems to be working fine. Im on stock bamf6.3 kernel gonna give it a couple days then I mnight switch.
I had my Captivate since November and started coming to this site a few months ago once my stock captivate was becoming sluggish.
Even though I was comfortable flashing custom roms on my old Acer Liquid E, I wasn't comfortable flashing ROMs on my cappy until a couple weeks ago, when I wanted to get Gingerbread sooner than later.
After reading up on each ROM, I finally settled on the CONTINUUM 2.3 ROM. After a minor screwup (my fault), I was in custom rom heaven. My battery life was much better, response was snappier, and much more.
I was excited when I found out through the site that version 5.5 of Continuum was available yesterday. Today Came and I just flashed it and everything seems to be running smoothly.
Just like to give a big thank you to Cezar (icezar1) and for everyone else who contributed to this fantastic ROM and looking forward to whatever new & improved features they bring.
nice to see positive posts once in a while. glad to hear you were flashed successfully
Good day all
Well today I'll be making my impressions on the Roms I've tried so far for the last 3 months.
First is the AT&T stock Rom.. I actually didn't have much time to play with this one because I was desperate to try others Roms I Han already done some research about. All I know is that my relative in US upgraded it to Gingerbread and I had it for about 2 days and then rooted and flashed a custom Rom.
The second Rom I tried was the one I wanted the most: ARHD by mike. At that time it was 5.x I think... It felt quite good and I liked it a lot.. I started my experience with this Rom and once I got caught up by it I was hoping for new releases..
Finally mike brought us 6.x builds and at this moment I'm running 6.3.2 which has been working absolutely great so far.. just one bug with Skype and contact sync I'm having but not much of a problem indeed..
The second Rom I tried was Lord Clockan's Ice Cold Sandwich which I immediately like the looks because of the ICS system.. once I got to play with it for a while I found some already known issues with the camera, and some features still missing when I tried to personalize my device.. but in performance the Rom was very responsive, very fast, and moat important: BATTERY FRIENDLY (23 hours battery life).. however I decided to go back to ARHD because of the mentioned bugs...
Then I started a very fast Rom trial with some of the commonly know Roms such as LeeDrOid, CoreDroid and aospx... Now a quick review for those Roms..
First I tried CoreDroid and the first think I said was: "Oh! the colors!" I didn't like the theme at all, and I like blue if you must know... The colors, the icons I didn't like much the looks of this Rom, however I decided to give it a try in performance because you can always change the looks of your Rom.. So, as said, I tried the Rom, quick look to the camera, market, sms, browser, keyboard layout and responsiveness, and my general thought was OH THE COLORS! I just couldn't get pass them.. but trying to leave that aside, the Rom felt right, but not right for me...
Next I tried LeeDrOid's Rom, and I also was shocked by the colors, but moving on I did the same test as with CoreDroid.. my final decision is that I didn't like the feel of it, I liked CoreDroid better.. but I will give those two another, and more throughly, try..
Third was AOSPX with ICS, and of course seeing my Inspire running ICS is a very weak spot for me so I liked it very much... Now I had a Rom to compare with Ice Cold Sandwich .... I ran the quick tests and noticed a few differences between both Roms, for example camera worked fine in normal mode , but they had similar behavior in landscape mode... ICS had Trebuchet, and aospx didn't.. well some differences but the final decision was that aospx has very good potential and I really like it and now I'm in the wait list for any updates...
I also tried ARHD 7 with no Sense, for DHD, but I immediately went back because I didn't want to spoil the surprise for when it is Inspire ready.. I also flashed CM7.1 but never tried it for long because I didn't have time.. later I'll post a short review for it...
So now I'm following the threads for ARHD, Lord Clockan and AOSPX and I'm expecting any updates for those Roms which in my opinion are the best for my usage..

IceColdSandwitch is a perfect blend of aosp and CyanogenMod. I tried to go back to CyanogenMod 7.1, but ended up flashing IceColdSandwitch 30 minutes later.

So I just got a Droid X2, and I upped it to 2.35, cleaned it all up, it seemed ok, then I went ahead and rommed it to Eclipse 2.1 which seems very nice and fast I like the launcher and, overall I like it, but I would like to try some other roms out as well.
This is not a post asking what roms are available, I am looking for personal opinion on any rom that may be better then Eclipse 2.1 and if so why is it better. I mean all it is is an hour of time to mod it over, but I would like to try some new things, and I am hoping you can stear me in the right direction. what I really like is clean and fast, and just no bloatware. that is what I am really looking for.
The droid I had before this I ran bugless beast because it was stable and fast if that gives you any ideas.
